  I had visited bengal tandoor yesterday. Have ordered butter chicken and chicken korma with egg fry rice. Bhtter chicken was ok and chicken was hard to eat. Korma quality is not upto the mark.   We were with a very large group and order almost all the dishes. They were all very delicious. What was even better was the service of our lovely server Pawan.   Let’s just say I ordered from this restaurant the night before on Uber eats and the service was so much better. The waiter seemed quite pissed I was at the restaurant and made some comment in his native language to my waitress who when asked what he said pretended everything was ok. He mentioned something about the samosas I ordered and I decided not to eat them because everyone was being quite weird. I felt watched the entire time and quite uncomfortable. Please note that I am a foreigner and also black. Apparently one can only order their food from delivery services if they want to be treated well. Such an awful experience.   This was lovely!! I enjoyed the veggie korma and samosa! The people are so nice here. I will say the mixed cheese and garlic naan is just ok. It’s amazing if you like the taste of American cheese. That’s what the cheese kind of reminds me of although it’s obviously not that color. But the food is GOOD and hot. And reasonable for a tourist area.   It started with a tentative visit to this restaurant on our first day in Lisbon. Being tired after arriving from a delayed flight (& missing baggage 😊), we ordered “chhole aloo”. The taste was outstandingly authentic that we were craving after having been to 3-4 “pseudo” Indian restaurants during earlier leg of our Europe tour. Tha Kabuli chana was definitely soaked for 7-8 hrs (attention to detail), given its tenderness and succulence. The dish had been cooked diligently and not just the masala being “sprayed over”. The first visit followed by 2nd and then 3rd - savouring the biryanis, mix veg, cocktails, lassis - we just grew in love with place - not only the food but the extremely pleasant staff. If there would be key 5 reasons to visit Lisbon again, Bengal Tandoori is definitely one of them. Kudos to the team Au revoir .. till we visit again.   Tried dining in and was advised need reservation which i understand because it’s dec 31 but I went on google and saw some slots available and booked the earliest slot available which was like 30 mins away. went in and told them that I booked reservation.   Highly recommend! We first had their pizza (a chicken tikka) when we arrived late into town and were stunned by the quality - look inside and you'll see their large pizza oven! Crispy crust and flavourful. We went back for a sit down dinner a few days later and had their chicken madras and chicken mushroom curry with garlic naan. Beautiful, clean, spacious restaurant with good service and even better quality food. I have had Indian all over the world and this was right up there.   The neighbourhood seems a bit sketchy but once inside it all changes! The food was really good, especially the tandoori chicken! We ordered daal tarka along and that was also superb. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a real Indian food experience in Lisbon. Hoping that the restaurant management works on the outward appearance of the place and some other aesthetic details.   I was so happy to have Indian food, since I have been craving it for months now. I was super nervous because my husband is super picky and even he was a fan.   First of all I never review places, I'm old school. However I was in Lisbon for a few days and heard they was many Indian restaurants, so I tried Bengal Tandoori. We where greeted with a warm smile. My children had butter chicken my wife had a chicken tikka masala and I had the chicken sheesh kebab masala desi style and let me tell you, it was like back home, absolutely bursting with flavour and rich sauce. My children said their butter chicken was lovely and the lady was very nice and friendly, you have to tip dad, which did 😄. So I said we would be back. We return the next evening. We started with samosa's which were amazing the correct texture for the pastry and the filling was full of flavour .I tried the chicken karahi which was even better just how I like it, thick ,sauce with suculante chicken. My children said it's the best we've had and I have to agree! The Bengal Tandoor, you will not be disappointed. Thank you so much for your fine food and hospitality.
