  By far my FAVORITE restaurant in Lisbon! I've lived in Lisbon for several years now and no other place comes even close in terms of taste, service, or atmosphere. I am sending all of my foodie friends there and they repeatedly report that Mankooche serves some of the best meals they've ever had (including my friends from the Middle East). The fattoush and the labneh are to die for! A bit tucked away from the busy crowds (with a serene patio), you can easily access it from a glass door next to Tv. do Carvalho 29. The owner, Marianne, is the wonderful soul of the restaurant and I've never met a more passionate and welcoming person.   This place absolutely exceeded all expectations! Mary Anne was super nice and other staff was also kind and attentive. Food was amazing. There isn’t a need to check out other Lebanese places when you have Mankooche. For the entrance, look for the door that is next to the hood saying “day” on the side of the street. There are also Mankooche signs in green and once you go straight into the building, you’ll find the place inside the patio.   My partner and I wanted to try something else after having already having few Portuguese dishes during our visit, and Mankooche seemed to have some appetizing food. The waitress and staff are very friendly and the food was so fresh and excellent. Some of the best pita bread I've had. This was our favorite meal during our visit to Lisbon; so simple yet tasty!   We had a wonderful experience at Mankooche! After a few days in Lisbon, we were looking for something other than seafood or Italian and Mankooche delivered in spades! This small restaurant is bright with flavorful food and many options. Run by a lovely couple with a passion for their family-run restaurant, it also feels good to support their business when so many other options in Lisbon feel corporate. If you are traveling to Lisbon and are looking for elevated Lebanese street food, we could not recommend this place more! (FYI, the restaurant is found in a small courtyard on the other side of a hallway containing an elevator to a rooftop bar - just follow the sign from the street and it is right next to Bairrices.)   This is a fantastic restaurant, though a little difficult to find. The restaurant is located on the inside of a courtyard, and there is a small sign on a door that leads from the street to the courtyard. Once inside though, you'll find a great patio that is clean, well-maintained, and with plenty of shade. The food was excellent. Everything is freshly made to order with quality ingredients. Serving sizes were good and we had enough to satisfy two very hungry kids and ourselves. Service was good too, as staff were friendly and service was prompt, with frequent check-ins to ensure that we had everything we needed.   Yes this is the place you want to eat at! Forget about the Time Out market, this is where you will find amazing fresh food and the crew is super friendly as well. You will have to go through 2 doors before you will find the place, but please do It, you won’t be disappointed and that is not something we say often.   Went there 3 times during our week stay in Lisbon. The staff checked on us multiple times with very positive attitude - Jenny and Marianne! The grills were tasty, tabbouleh was crispy, hummus was uber smooth, the garlic was like it should be and the moutabbal was delish. Most importantly, they do fresh hot and smooth oven bread that i cannot have as a celiac so they gave me chopped vegetables and separate plates to ensure my food is gluten free.   The restaurant is hard to find as it is inside a building. There are two restaurants around the corner that have tables outside. So it is very easy to miss the small door that leads to the indoor courtroom where there are multiple other restaurants. The food was good and the service was nice. It was just delicious. The makdous is perfect. And the spicy potatoes are done in a unique way that feel like a fresh approach to this classic. Will definitely be eating there any time I visit.   A true hidden gem if you are looking for oriental food in a nice atmosphere. The restaurant has a nice outdoor terrace where you can enjoy traditional lebanese cuisine. We had Kafta, minced lamb manakish and fried, spicy potatoes. Tastewise it was an absolute blast! The service is also very high class and rounded up our food experience.   The food was good, but somewhat similar to a Portuguese grill, not sure if that’s the norm. There was a drink that I ordered that kind of tasted like what I imagine hand soap would taste like, but it was the only thing I didn’t like and I was warned that it was extremely sweet beforehand.   This was by fav our favorite meal during our week in Lisbon! Everything we tried from the hummus, zaatar, pickles, Kafta, even the rose water absolutely delicious and the owner was so sweet!   Look for the signs next to Eat Pray Love and go through the door to the courtyard on the other side. Several restaurants share the courtyard- Mankooche is the second one on the right. Excellent food, including some of the nicest hummus I have ever eaten and a delicious, sharply lemon-y tabouleh that was a very refreshing contrast to the labneh. The laymounada with orange flower water was also the perfect contrast of sharp and sweet. Staff were great too - really warm and welcoming.   Stumbled across this delightful place on a late night walk with a group of friends and we thoroughly enjoyed our dinner here. Location and atmosphere was terrific with a very large patio facing an inner courtyard. The food was delicious and the service was great. Proportions were a bit puzzling for some dishes over others (e.g., one of the cheese dishes was amazing but quite small compared to the potatoes). The owner was extremely patient and let us stick around a little after close. The one thing I would warn others about is how hot some of the plates are. Some dishes are served in a mini-wok and the handles extend past the plates underneath them so when we were moving dishes around one of us got a sizeable skin burn.   Solid but forgettable — you can do way better in Lisbon. Expensive for the portions, and the dishes were hit and miss. The grilled chicken was delicious and juicy, but there was barely any garlic sauce on the side (which was the tastiest thing I had!). The labneh had no garlic in it and was quite bland. They also refused to serve tap water, which I’ve never encountered in a restaurant here. Update: had immediate indigestion after eating here.   Booked a table at Manooche which I had been looking forward to try since it's been way too long since I treated myself to Lebanese food. Unfortunately I found most of the food pretty boring and tasteless. It was all freshly prepared and hot to table. But I did miss that authentic touch I usually experience with middle eastern food. We had never tried Lebanese food before so the host carefully explained each dish and helped us to understand more about Lebanese gastronomy. The food I had was one of the best I've ever had in my life. I don't think I can completely explain the feeling in words but I was overwhelmed. The richness of the meat infused with spices, freshly baked pitas and hummus and the herby, cruncy yet dense falafel were too good to be true.   My wife and I are both Lebanese, so while visiting Portugal we couldn't help but stop by. We got to meet the owner (Marianne) and ordered a number of classic Lebanese items: Manoushe nous/nous (half zaatar, half cheese), Lahme bi ajeen, mkdoos, hummus. The food was excellent (even by Lebanese standards) and Marianne was very friendly and provided great service. Best of luck and look forward to stopping in again when we are back in Portugal! Eu também adoro Pizza, é uma boa alternativa à pizza. Recomendado!

  One of the best Manakeesh I ever had. We have tried 4 different versions and being a Lebanese I could say that the owner has nailed it! The Zaatar is so tasty and the Labneh is just a spot on! It’s homemade and with the right acidity level. You must also try the baked falafel! It’s very light and the flavors are perfectly balanced. Fresh ingredients, perfect dough, amazing taste, very friendly service and fair price. If you could try this place and you don’t then you’re doing a big mistake. I would definitely come back when in Lisbon! My favorite Manakooche place in Europe after Beirut. Thanks a lot Mankooche for the experience, you made me feel like home. Best of luck!   100% recommend this place!! The bread is delicious & homemade, totally satisfies my cravings for manakeesh.   A mix of flavours from Portugal and Lebanon. They are super tasty and filling. I enjoyed it a lot and would definitely recommend anyone passing by this area to drop by and have one.
