  We ordered Mackrel and Bream and white sangria. Macrel was pretty flavorful, Bream was just ... fish. The sangria was not bad. What was really disappointing was the boiled potatoes and green beans.   Very nice place! We went in hoping for sardines but they didn’t have them that day. However, the sea bream I got instead was delicious. The fish was really fresh and served like the Portuguese would eat it! The place seemed very authentic and the staff was lovely. Ordering in English was no problem. Prices are good too.   Honestly - I hadn't planned to come here. I was looking for O Frade but being dispraxic, turned right instead of left (🤦😳) but a line of people were hustling in ahead of me and I followed them out of FOMO. But the service was so welcoming and friendly that even after sitting down and realising I was in the wrong place, I stayed. Seating is either at a bar, or at long tables, shared where individuals, couples and groups are squeezed in together - in a good way. Having planned an entirely different meal I panicked when the waiter came for my order and just asked him to recommend. He ordered the pork with clams and fried potatoes, which I might not have chosen myself, but which was excellent. The pork was tender. The clams and shrimp, juicy and fresh. The chips - I don't like chips. But these were superb. Hot, crispy, certainly triple cooked. Really great chips. The white wine by the glass was a lovely accompaniment. With this much fried food I didn't dare order a dessert too, though pretty much everyone else on the table did.   After 10 days travelling in Europe, I crave for the comfort of O Prado restaurant .. for grill sea bass and mackerel. I love their veggie plate with rice too. I have see other tables ordered shell fish dishes and sea fish rice - looks great, though I canny attest to them as I have not tasted. The 4 service team members are very friendly. The big one will always find you a table. The others even crack a joke in the busiest moments. One of them would show off his multi-language skill in greeting .. even in Chinese! Haha.   Unfortunately it's not the authentic Lisbon seafood experience I had expected in Lisbon. Ordered seafood rice and garlic fried prawn. The prawn was not fresh and tasted just like coming from a Costco package from the freezer. The pictures of the seafood rice posted on here are deceiving. It just assembles a bunch of cold seafood on top of the seafood rice and even uses imitation crab meat. The service is okay and that's about it. I'd avoid this area and try authentic yummy Lisbon seafood somewhere else. No idea where all the rave reviews are coming from.   NEVER coming back. I do NOT recommend this place. Walk another block and you will find some real restaurants. They are busy only because they are the only restaurant on the block and they are behind the Quake museum. Spend 1/2 hr before they took our order. Another 45 minute before our food arrives. The 2-3 tables seated after us got their orders and food before us. They are under staffed. Don”t worry tho, they only took 1 minute to clean our table and seated another family after us. As for the food, mediocre at best. Very similar to a fast food diner. They will upsell you their crab dish but it’s fake crab meat. Their fries are way under cooked but that comes with most orders.   This is definitely the best Portuguese restaurant in the Belem neighborhood. The waiters are friendly, helpful and super speedy in their work. We were about to leave after looking through the menu because there weren’t any vegetarian options for us. When we told the waiter, he said the chef can do a stir fried vegetables w potatoes and rice dish and it turns out very tasty! The vegetables soup is also very yummy. And the price is very reasonable! Will definitely be back to try others. We returned for lunch at 1.30 pm and there was a long queue outside. We waited for 30 mins before we get a seat inside. It’s buzzing w customers and service going on and everyone r enjoying their food and drinks. We ordered the eel it’s so plump and fresh, it’s outstanding! We didn’t need any sauce to go with it - just wanted to savor the freshness of the meat. It’s was by accident that we got this because the waiter told us that mackerel was sold out. He recommended “fried egg and rice”. We were confused but since he’s very busy and the restaurant is packed, we said ok. And what a surprise that it’s truly an amazing dish!! We can’t wait to b back again! Perhaps for early dinner to avoid the crowd. By the time we left at 2.30 pm, there is still a line of people waiting to be seated in the super cold weather outside!   The food at O Prado was exceptional. It was our first meal in Lisbon and we decided to also make it our last. We especially loved the grilled shrimp but all of the seafood dishes as well as veal dish we tried were delicious and authentic.   O Prado has great good, friendly waiters/servers, and very reasonable prices. The waiter(s) speak English and are friendly to tourists. The beer comes in generous portions. The seafood dishes (seafood rice, grilled fish, etc) taste better than the much more expensive seafood restaraunts we went to in the city center of Lisbon. Try the grilled fish or seafood rice.   Very nice restaurant, just a few minutes' walk from Jerónimos Monastery. If you are taking a tramp #15E, then stop name Belem across National Coach Museum. Restaurant has lots of seafood. We had seafood soup and grilled sardines. The portion of the soup was so big that I couldn't finish it. We had an amazing lunch.   Great place with exceptional food and it's really worth the wait. The staff and the kitchen are so well organized and everything goes so smoothly. And the food.. that's really the next level. First, shrimp - I don't even like sea food and this was so good, with olive oil, garlic and chilli marinade. Then the main course, veal - huge portions and so well prepared.   Was one of the highest reviewed places so my family and I decided to try it out for local cuisine. We arrived around 1:20 in the afternoon. Ordered sausage, garlic shrimp, steak and eggs and a fish. Sausage and shrimp were way overcooked. Kids usually chow down sausages but with this... They couldn't even chew it. Shrimps flavor was ok if it was edible. Again, way overcooked. Then we sat and waited until 2:40 before we got tired. We saw other tables who arrived later and got their food. When I flagged the waiter down for the check and cancel the food, he ran to the back and asked for our food denying us the food cancelation. When I told him I didn't want anything else, he kept saying, 1 minute 1 minute. It was obvious he knew that we hadn't gotten our food for a long time. Seems the restaurant is local for ONLY LOCAL PEOPLE. If you're a tourist stay clear, seems it is not first come first serve. Seems it is portuguese first serve.   Gem in Belem! Lovely local spot just steps away from the train/museum/gardens. Really popular so expect to wait during peak time. There’s seating inside and outside and they try and turn over tables pretty efficiently - without you feeling rushed! Our server was fantastic, conversational English and French, busting his butt and always maintained humour and patience. Menu is bilingual.   Nice little restaurant with seating outside (close to roadside). Lots of seating available indoors too with sports on tv. You get cheese and bread for starters put on the table, which if you decide to go for you get added on to the bill (didn't realise until we saw the bill which we were ok with but be warned). We ordered mussels to begin with, then I had the tuna steak and my bf ordered the sole. The sole was the best! (Ended up eating half of his)! I found the tuna a little bit too salty for my liking as with the sauce the mussels were cooked in. The sangria is a good drink to go for too!   Arrived here peak Friday night and 2 of the waiters seated us within 2 minutes once they set the table. The place is small but cosy and I liked the vibe with it being full of people dining.   Superb! Because we would visit Lisbon and didn’t want to go for a search for food in the city we checked Google upfront. There I found good reviews about this place.   We have found the place by sheer luck as we were looking for a place to eat out of the usual Portuguese lunch hour, and we loved it. The food is tasty and well cooked but with simple, unpretentious ingredients; the fish is very fresh and nicely grilled and the staff is so friendly and accommodating.   Total disaster...Not sure what did all the 4 and 5 star reviewers eat, but this is was our worst meal in Lisbon and definitely one of the worst I had lately. Fried prawns, fried codfish and tuna fillets is what we ordered, and I still can't decide which meal was the worst one.Honestly, I would recommend to avoid this place at all costs.   It’s a small place with local feel. We had a really warm welcome, although “complimentary” starters turned out not to be complimentary. The menu was extensive, but we received proper help with dish choice from waiter. We have never eaten fish which tasted quite like in O Prado. Home-made desserts were a nice finish to a 2 hour stay.   What a lovely diner in Belém. Located close to the coach museum and the MAAT, it's a great place to come get some authentic Portuguese seafood dishes. It was fully packed when we came at 130 in the afternoon still. We were able to get seated at the bar, which turned out great as the server/barista behind the bar was super nice and very friendly. Sitting down, they start you off with a complimentary basket full of different kinds of bread and a lovely tray of Portuguese cheese. The complimentary starters I learned is a deep part of Portuguese food culture. Blood pudding - pan fried perfectly and served with olives and pickled cauliflower, super tasty! Sardines - The sardines are a bit boney so be careful, but so good. Seafood bread stew (Açorda de marisco ) -something different from what I have ever had in the past.
