TLDR: service was great but food had a few misses especially with salt levels The food is to be shared plates and we ordered one appetizer and three “mains”. The beef tartelette packed a bunch of flavor but was a bit salty. The cod was also seasoned improperly, some bites were too salty and some too bland. I also didn’t like that it was lukewarm, instead of being hot or cold. The quail was my favorite for the breast was cooked perfectly and the quail wing was fried well with raisins on top. The pork was also tasty and smoked well but the salt they used had big granules that made some bites saltier than others. The food was delicious and original. Nice wines and efficient staff (not particularly friendly though but maybe it was late already?) But we were quite disappointed with the space itself, feeling it does not follow the level of the venue. The little room in the background literally looks like any cool burger joint. And we were seated in the main eating room: it was very dense and the neighboring table was 10cm away. It felt we were dining together! Ines was hands down the worst server I've ever encountered out of all my European travels (and I live here as an expat). She absolutely ruined the entire experience and to be honest, she didn't even allow us to enjoy ourselves. A rare disappointing Lisbon restaurant experience. We ordered 3 small plates and 2 large plates for 2 people. For the beef tartare, needing to eat it in one bite made its lovely texture and flavor too fleeting. The sardine toasts were too big to eat in one bite as directed. Both of us enjoyed the quail eggs. According to the time stamps on my photos of the dishes, it took 44 min between when the small plates and the large plates were served. That's too long. We probably would have had another glass of wine if the large plates were served in a more timely manner. Service was outstanding but did not compensate for the poor pacing of the dishes from the kitchen. I would not recommend to friends and family or return. If I could give more stars I would. This was a fantastic restaurant with beautifully executed and presented dishes which surprised and amazed me. We had the tasting menu and it was superlative and among the best meals I have ever had. Service was impeccable and added to the experience. The service seemed to be good but speaking in learned phrases and discouraging to take port wine as an aperitif, and on the remark that I didn't like the dish at all (at first I was served absolutely raw fish, which was impossible to cut - it was not even separated from the crust with a knife), I was told that "someone else definitely liked this dish"... in case of such a failure I at least expect that my non-excellent dish will be removed from the cheque or offered a nice compliment from the chef. This restaurant is not recommended. Even the ambience is reminiscent of a railway station concourse, the tables are far too close together (20 cm) and of course there are no tablecloths. Instead, there are lots of hipsters and hippies. When we order, instead of the white port wine we ordered, we are offered a rosé. The dishes are also meant to be shared, which is why we are asked to order at least three starters and two main courses. The starters were more like greetings from the kitchen. The tuna in the main courses was so raw that it was inedible. We asked for it to be seared again, which was then done with displeasure. The ox terloin had the character of a starter. It’s sometimes hard to get a table as a single travelled so I was very happy that there wasn’t a problem to book. But to be placed in a gap behind a pillar with absolutely no view over the restaurant made me feel excluded. Since I hade heard so much I looked forward to the dinner. I hade two main dishes and non of them were good. One was to salty and the other to tart. I didn’t finish either of them and gave feedback to the staff. So let’s talk about the staff. I hade one lovely waitress. So pleasant and doing her best. And I hade another that obviously didn’t wanted to be there at all or hade a really bad day. At a restaurant at this level this really surprised me. I can see that they have good intentions but I’m sorry for that they can’t deliver. We were very much looking forward to the visit to the Prado, because we have heard so far almost only good and we celebrated a special occasion. The service welcomed us nicely and it was also possible to get a table already at 7:30, although we had reserved at 21 clock. We decided to go for the tasting menu because the dishes sounded delicious and also the waitress recommended it. Because we are very much into wine, we also took the wine accompaniment because the wine list was promising. The portions of the individual courses were unfortunately all very very small and the price / value ratio is not right. We had bones in the fishfilet, which of course can happen, but should not happen in a restaurant of this category. The wine accompaniment was even worse than the food. It costs 55 € for 7 wines, which sounds like a fair price. However, it was really always very small sips (less than 1/16). The sommelier did a good job and told a lot about the wines. We had the chefs menu which was amazing. Although 68€ in Lisbon in quite a lot for a dinner (food only) it was worth it as we got around 10 servings. Around 5 of these were different fish made in different ways which was truly incredible. What was most surprising was the desert. Brioche, coffee, hazelnut and Madeira wine – all somehow mixed into a desert that surprises the whole table. All of us (three guys mid-twenties) always avoid deserts and would much rather choose an extra starter (salty dish). But this desert. It made me reconsider my whole existence on this earth. Was it all just a lie? Who am I? This desert was the best of all the dishes we had and it is the first time I am every saying this. Service note: the service was alright but robotic. I took the chef's menu with the wine arrangement and with a pescatarian restriction. The food was extremely subtle and had very different tastes with increasing power to every dish. Incredible experience, staff so friendly and knowledgeable, able to describe all the dishes to us and give us recommendations based on their own personal favourites. So attentive and welcoming and really showed their passion for food. The butternut squash pictured was a real standout, the sauce was divine and the squash cooked beautifully and so well presented. We were very excited to visit Prado as we had heard amazing things, though I am sad to say it was disappointing. The food is quite good, but not as outstanding as we were told. On the other hand, the service was supbar. We had preemptively contacted the restaurant because someone in our party had food restrictions and we reminded the staff know as soon as we were sat at our table. None of the food restrictions were respected, so that was very frustrating. Also, the service was so slow that not only did we wait a long time for our food we had to make an order for a bottle of wine three times (yes you read it well) and waited half an hour for it. Besides, we noticed the same lack of service didn't happened with non-portuguese customers... Like many restaurants in Lisbon, Prado is catered to tourists who are coming in for a semblance of traditional food with a twist. However, it is underwhelming and overpriced, which could have somewhat be ignored if service was outstanding. When we ordered pork for the main dish, we were told that it’s going to be cooked for 30 min, are we sure we want it? Also it took a waiter a second to wait to clean our table after main course and the infinity to get the order for dessert. We went to the Prado and it was a pure disappointment. You walked in and from the first moment it felt like a factory or a fast food place. There was no wine service or proper recommendations from a sommelier or server – even after a specifically asking for one. After viewing the set menu we decided to choose from the a la carte dishes. The plating was generally nice, but the dishes lacked taste. After having to send a dish that we did not like back, we saw the server (in an open kitchen) show the cooks the plate we sent back, to which they all made fun of it. This simply lacks professionalism. Furthermore, as soon as we were even close to finishing a plate, they would rush in and clear it off the table to serve the next course, which had us finish 6 plates in less than an hour. It was clear to us that they just wanted to get us in and out the restaurant as quick as possible so they could seat the next party. We would not recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys good food or wants to spend a relaxing evening. Spending 175 Euros on a dinner for two was an absolute waste of money. At this point, however, we would recommend the Restaurant Officio, an excellent fusion Portuguese restaurant with incredibly tasty dishes, friendly and knowledgeable staff and an extensive wine list and great recommendations. Honestly one of the best restaurant experiences I've had in a while. I don't eat meat (only some seafood occasionally) or drink alcohol, but I went with a group of friends who do both. The waitstaff asked about dietary restrictions at the start of the meal, then when we were ordering, they asked if I wanted some vegetarian portions/customizations of the meat plates my friends were ordering. Spectacular service, and the food was delicious. Only two small wishes: would be great if they had a better variety of desserts (all the options had ice cream, which I don't really care for) as well as some non-alcoholic wine options. I’d read about Prado (meadow) before arriving in Lisbon and wanted to check it out. I was delighted with my choice. They offer modern and creative dishes using locally sourced, natural, and traditional Portuguese ingredients. Tapas style small plates of tasty and interesting food. They also have a superb wine list of excellent and affordable Portuguese wines - many of which are organic. We had the ox tartare with shiitake mushrooms and grilled cabbage, chanterelle mushrooms and acorn fed Alentejano pork with turnips. Wine from the Pato winery. Loved all of it. This place was recommended by a tv show we watched, we had a very high expectation. Over all the food was good and well thought out. The squid was delicious, the sweet potato dish that was recommended by the waiter was also good . The sardines were made in 2 ways for us , a vegetarian version and a regular version. It was yummy. The only dish I didn’t like was the hazelnut , mushrooms celery root dish , that was very salty and not that good. Foodies, y'all gonna go ape you know what at this joint. Regular people, y'all gonna be foodies after this joint. I had a 70 day dry aged steak and nearly lost my mind because it was excellent! I was lucky to view how they make the steak.... Slap it on top of a steel lattice that is 3 feet above a smoke and fire source. They smoke it in about 35 minutes and it's cooked to perfection. The only other place that comes close to making a dry aged steak this good is the now defunct Carne Vino in Vegas. This restaurant of course makes everything perfectly and would not be surprised if they get a Michelin rating. This is the place to go for sure in Lisbon. One of the best meals of my life. For three people, we ordered the bread, the squid, cheese plate, meat plate, mushrooms, pork, and the porgy. We were barely able to finish everything, but all of it was unique and absolutely delicious. I haven't visited Prado since back in 2018 but ever since my first meal there it's always been on my mind, so in January I had to return. One of Lisbon's most consistent and coveted dining experiences, Prado is completely focused on the provenance of its ingredients, to the point where it lists each and every one of its fantastic producers on the back of its menu. I love Prado for its laid-back service, its varied, international, artisanal wine list, its open kitchen and the likelihood that you're unlikely to ever have the same dish twice there. One of the walls in a smaller room has a mural of famous Portuguese street artist Aka Corleone, which was a nice surprise for me as a lover of street art. They are clearly chasing the Michelin star… But with the prices they put (it is around 60 euros per person per dinner in the end), they could really work better on the presentation of the food. The menu is quite nice, but in some points it is over complicated and heavy in description. The place was a nice experience overall, but not worth for now of the price. Even so I recommend to visit if you want to try fine Portuguese dining based on sustainable principles. The violet shrimp was amazing—it tasted like buttery sea scallop sashimi over a rich risotto bursting with shrimp head flavor. The other dishes were also well-executed, but their flavor was not as impressive and gave the sense that they were using the ingredients for the sake of using them. Take, for example, the squid. It was cleverly fashioned like noodles, and tasted quite like them, but I didn’t think it offered much over actual noodles other than the novelty. At least for me, much of the squid flavor was drowned out by the sauce and other ingredients. Ultimately, I don’t think the overall experience was anywhere near worth the price. The best dining experience we had in Lisbon. The atmosphere is laid back but elegant, and the space felt quiet while being full and lively. Perfect setting for an intimate dinner or celebration. The food was really terrible and the service abrupt and condescending. Sent a couple dishes back barely touched, and the waitress neither offered alternatives nor removed them from the final bill. We had a mixed-bag experience at Prado. Let’s start with the positives, the venue is really nice, and the staff are lovely. Of the food we ordered, we enjoyed some and not others. The hake collar was by far the stand-out, we both really enjoyed this. The sourdough and the squid were also really tasty. The sardines were just nice, the ‘snack’ prawn and seaweed dish was very meh, and we actively disliked the lobster bisque. The dishes were well composed, intriguing combinations of different flavors and the concept of shared plates made it possible to try a variety of different dishes. But the service was in my opinion one of the worst experiences I ever had in a restaurant of this price class. The place itself is beautiful, spacious, clean, calm. The staff is friendly, but it also depends on who's taking care of you. This place is very American, and that’s not really a good thing. Very small plates (I would call practically an amuse-bouche), lovely flavor and American-level waitstaff attentiveness, but prices very out-of-line with Lisbon, and tipping was expected. 67€ for lunch. The dishes were what I would call haute cuisine, but honestly is very “New American” but for Europe, if that makes sense. A lot of fusion and exploration of flavor profiles. The menu had lots of interesting flavors, and I especially enjoyed the beef tartare. The cockles had a nice pairing of flavors, and the Alentejo pork was interesting. The crème anglaise dessert was blah. On one hand, judging Prado on American (esp. New York, LA, or SF standards), it’s high-end but approachable. It’s not insane pricing (by those standards). On the other hand, there were some glimmers of creative food exploration, but not enough to justify the prices. Like the pork—it was good, but not 18€ good, knowing the portion and really that it wasn’t that interesting. It was actually a bit imbalanced, with too much salt. Knowing what I know now, I would have probably made more of a big deal coming, and I would have stuck primarily with the small plate amuses-bouches. The atmosphere is pleasant. One of the best meals from the Lisbon trip. The fatty sardine melted with the lardo on top of the warm toast, but the tartelette was the real star - salty and tangy, fresh and juicy, highlighted with the sweetness of the red pepper. The squid, while relatively simple (as simple as fresh, quality squid can be) was a textural delight; the ribbons of squid gave a whole new mouthfeel and sensation I've never had before, with a punchy sauce and thin, tooth-sinking al dente potato. The pork was kinda mind-blowing. Incredibly tender, with varying bites depending on if you get some of the fat cap or not. I was really impressed by the sauce, turnips, and turnip tops though. The sauce was luxurious, and might've been too rich with the pork, but was offset with small cubes of tangy cured turnips. The turnip tops and sauce had a really intense flamed flavour really similar to that illustrious wok hei/'wok air' - where the cooking and heat carbonises the oil to produce an extremely savoury quality. The mushroom ice cream I was really intrigued and a tad sceptical about, but it really does work. The mushroom flavour is incredibly subtle and not overpowering, and that savoury pungency is truly complimented by salty caramel. Went to Prado with two friends of mine. We ordered one of everything. It is so refreshing seeing Lisbon do this kind of food. Portugues food is so good but tends to always be done in the same way. It is wonderful finding a place that balances style and quality so well without being stuffy or stuck-up. I would almost say it was slightly overpriced, but the restaurant itself, how nice the staff were and how good the food was makes it totally worth it. I love this place and will be coming back. Forgetable restaurant... The ingredients are of good quality, service has a lot of highs and lows, price is too expensive for what it is, the menu is hardly understandable and the food is simply unbalanced and sometimes scarce. The fish was a sample and could hardly be shared between me and my wife, the ris de veau with shrimp sauce is simply a mistake of unbalanced flavours, the Plumas de Porco was amazing and the ambiance of the whole restaurant quite quiet which to me is a very good thing. Its one of those places where you'll forget you have been there... Nothing worth mentioning or unforgettable... Spend your money elsewhere! P.S.- "Lomelo" which you have on your menu is NOT A WORD in the portuguese diccionary, its a word you made-up to sound posh and "molejas" IS NOT the salivary gland of the cow, it's SWEETBREADS!!! The place is hip looking for sure. However we really didn't like our food. we asked for suggestion salad but here came with cooked eggplant. The fish is yummy but portion is very tiny with that price. I tried the mushroom ice cream which isn't bad at all. But my friend got a sweet potato type of ice cream dessert which is really not tasty at all. It has a weird taste in the middle. I think the flavor is just too experimental for us.
