It seemed expensive at first glance but once we ate, we understood why, they use the best of ingredients.   Attention to detail from the moment we walked thru the door until we got our check. The interior is nicely decorated and pays homage to the food that it represents. Between a party of 4 adults, we started we the guacamole and chips. They arrived with fresh guac and 5-6 different dipping sauces, arranged from non spice to spicy. We destroyed them. We ordered 2 orderes of Pollo Al Carbon (grilled chicken) and really enjoyed them. Each order comes with 2 tacos. They hand press the gluten free corn tortillas. And yes they tasted fresh! My beautiful wife ordered the Pescado (seabass) wrapped in a wheat tortilla. She also destroyed her meal. My dad ordered the Carne asada taco and well let’s just say…he destroyed his meal as well😆. We all shared 2 orders of their version of beans and rice: the arroz verde(rice) and frijoles refritos. The tacos are very very delicious, although the esquite is not recommendable, because is made of sweet corn of the can. Anyways the service was good and the drinks as well.   I feel incredibly lucky that we seem to stumble upon great places every day. The Mexican restaurant we just tried was amazing! We plan to come back and try other dishes, but the quesadilla we had was one of the best we’ve ever had. The crunchiness on the outside combined with the perfectly flavored chicken and melted cheese on the inside was just perfect. This area has a wonderful bohemian and charming vibe that is definitely worth experiencing. It's hard to repeat experiences on a trip, but I guess we will make an exception for this place.   Prices are extremely high… A quesadilla (entree with chicken, cheese and some herbs) for almost 20€ is ludicrous in Portugal, and the food doesn’t taste that good. Depending on the day, you may get served fresh food or food that has been there for hours already. The tortillas are not consistent, some being more crunchy and others soggy. Not to talk about the salsas that are just blended down and lack any real spice. Just a poor European interpretation of Mexican food, which will leave your palate asking for more if you are used to the real thing.   Let's start with the good: the decoration is nice, the music is cool and the staff is responsive. However, the tacos are awful, they are too soggy and fall apart, and most of them have the same spicy taste. Not to mention, the meat is undercooked and as I saw the sauces are made in huge batches and probably kept longer than safe. I got one of the worst food poisoning of my life here for a pretty hefty price as well, I do not recommend this place... Small enough restaurant but quick turnover and can relax with a drink outside while you wait for your buzzer to summon you to your table during busy periods.   Not impressed. Pros : -They let us in at a time where most other restaurants don't serve food (16:00) -tacos were decent Cons: -waiter took quite a long time to take our order. Then the food took quite a long time to arrive. It is surprising because every ingredient looks already prepared, and they only assemble it, so you would think it is very fast, but it isn't. -the waiter forgot to bring our starters, we ended up not getting it - expensive and small. The tacos are around 10-12€ for two small tacos. We were left still very hungry after two tacos each, and I feel like I could have had two more and still be hungry, so six would be a good size to feel fed (so over 30€ per person) Conclusion : I'm sure our waitering experience was only a mistake and not general to everybody who comes here. But regarding the food and the price, I would advise you not to come here unless you don't mind spending at least over 30€, otherwise you will leave disappointed and hungry.   One of the best taco places in Portugal the reason I only have pictures of one drink and the guacamole is because I ate everything else so fast lol, the freshest guacamole ever ( it’s freshly made in house).   Okay food, but Very poor service. I was dining here with my mom and grandpa and had to flag someone down constantly to take our order for drinks, food, and to get utensils. Normally, i would understand if the restaurant was busy. However, we were the only people in the restaurant. It almost felt like they were going out of their way to ignore us. They didn’t check on us at all!!! At one point, we had to wait ten minutes to get some napkins (which my grandfather really needed), so I went up and grabbed them myself. Of course, that was the only time our server, Mariana, checked on us of her own accord and it was to scold me for grabbing the napkins myself. Soon after, customers started flowing in and the pace of service quickened. She became a lot more attentive, constantly checking on everyone but us. I’m not sure if race played a role, but we were the only asian individuals in this establishment. It wasn’t just Mariana that was the problem, but the other server who helped us as well. Every time we had to flag them down, they both had miserable looks on their face as if we were interrupting/inconveniencing them. I work in customer service, so I can recognize when the treatment I’m receiving is abysmal. We definitely won’t be dining here again, we did not feel welcome at all.   I ordered a very late lunch after a day exploring, this did not disappoint! The quesadilla had a great flavor, they even included some sour cream and pico on the side.   Tasty tacos that are clearly made from fresh ingredients. The restaurant is clean and stylish and has a hipster feel. Tacos are around €10-12 for a portion of 2 tacos. All the food was excellent and we also had 3 cokes and a beer, with the bill coming to €73. You don't get much for your money, but it's really well made and tasty. Service was a bit 'moody teenager' so stopped this being a 5 star rating.   We ordered tacos and they were mouth watering. Tortillas with fresh guacamole and sauces on the side were great too. They are fresh and made here. I asked for a piccante mezcal off the menu and the bartender made me and amazing one! The chelada was excellent too. They have an amazing wall of tequila bottles.   We tried the octopus tacos. Very tender and the toppings were fresh. We also ordered churros, they were served fresh and warm with 2 dipping sauces: one chocolate and one cajeta.   Overall the food I ordered was not great I've eaten from here before and the take out was not that great. The service was sub par because: as a former waiter myself, I know the effort it takes to ask, to not let people wait outside for a table and simply kindle say we're full, or appoint them a table when someone else can't and I'm doing nothing in the moment. That minimal level of service is what comes off as hospitality. The rest beneath it feels like a fast food place where they simply wish for you to eat and get out. And you'll get your meal your place your service when it suits them best. A fair argument, but only if: there is no service to give and not when it's a viable option between six different people on the waiting staff. Food was bad for my part. Didn't like it.   We were looking for a place to eat for our first night in Portugal. Lots of places were closed due to the Portugal football match. We stumbled upon this restaurant and were so glad we did! We had to wait for a table however there is a takeout window outside where you can order a beer and snack while you wait!   Holy guacamoley that was one of the best Mexican inspired dinners we've had! The guacamoley was exceptional. Burritos huge and hard to finish. Tacos delicious and filling. Update as of 27/09/23. Staff run short, clear issues with line management and front of house team not motivated or supported properly. Sad to see it go down hill.   We where here early! (Around 16:30-17:00) and it was fairly empty. The Taco special was fantastic and the Margerita I had wasn't too strong but still tasted very good. Prices are more than fair.   Such a wonderful dinner experience. We climbed up many stairs to reach this restaurant but it was worth it! The food was fresh, thought out and the staff were very friendly and accommodating.   🇲🇽 It really is hard these days to find a decent authentic Mexican, however, Coyo Taco really has found the sweet spot. The food was fresh, tasty, flavourful and overall just mouthwatering (I'm salivating remembering it). If there was one of these where I lived I'd never leave. The drinks were delicious and it was so nice to see all of my Mexican favourites on the menu. The guy who served us was serving the whole place solo as a colleague was off sick, but he certainly made us feel welcome and completely smashed it. The place gets busy so get in before lunch to avoid disappointment. Couldn't recommend more.   This place is fantastic!! We ordered alambre tacos (steak and it was two tacos), ensalada bowl with shrimp (6 large shrimp) and then refried (smashed) black beans. Everything was super fresh and perfectly done. The ensalafa should have been in a smaller bowl, as it looked like you were getting a small portion. The food and prices are appropriate.   Amazing staff and food. The space is quite small but we we're lucky and able to get a seat right away (it was a late lunch on a Friday). We had the chicken and the shrimp tacos. We also had a margarita (perfectly balanced! The best I've had) and the avocado smoothie (so tasty). I'd definitely recommend getting the guac and chips while you wait.   This place was an awesome find. Traveling in Europe and being used to living Texas, we craved tacos and good Mexican food. The tequila options are the best I’ve seen so far (Espolon! Whaaat?!) and they make a good margarita for six euro. Negro Modelo, Pacifico, Micheladas, Palomas, and Banderitas are all on offer. Their sauces/salsas are excellent. I had the Ahlambre taco and it was delicious. The Cochinita Pibil rivals some of the best I’ve had back home. The pastor is ok, I’ve had better. The service is quick and friendly, just not many tables, so anything after 9 can be a bit of a wait. Not expensive as some have suggested, and we found it to be reasonable.   €30 for a mushroom burrito, steak burrito, and .5L water. We came here because we’re HUGE fans of the Miami Coyo Taco, but this one is under par due to its unreasonable cost. The food was good, service was very attentive, but I can’t justify this cost, especially in Lisbon. We’ve frequently spent under €30 here and received two full meals with appetizers, wine, and dessert. It seems like they took the Miami menu, replaced the $ with a €, took away one taco, and largely reduced burrito size.
