Awful night: you spend €200+ and the moment you pay you receive the worst services ever!!! My experience at this bar was completely disappointing, largely due to the abhorrent behavior of its security staff, particularly one individual, Eduardo. Despite enjoying our time inside, things took a nosedive when we were waiting for a taxi under the shelter due to rain. One person, away from others, took a quick puff of an electronic cigarette, prompting an unnecessary and aggressive response from Eduardo and his colleagues. Instead of handling the situation with tact and professionalism, Eduardo forcibly pushed us, along with other innocent patrons, out into the pouring rain. Their actions were not only disrespectful but bordered on harassment, particularly towards the female members of our group. The way Eduardo demanded to be called "gentlemen" and refused to accept any other term was reminiscent of the demeaning demands of a bygone era, adding insult to injury. In short, the security staff at this establishment, including Eduardo, displayed a complete lack of respect and professionalism, creating an environment that felt unsafe and unwelcoming. If you're looking for a place where you'll be treated with basic decency, I suggest looking elsewhere. Our waitres was not very attentive, we had to ask for bread 3 times because she forgot and when we reordered she forgot again The music was a little bit too loud and it's usually quieter. One of the most beautiful restaurants we’ve been to. The food, though, was good but not astounding for the price. There is a 2 hour limit to dine in, and despite going with the flow of the service provided to us, which meant waiting on service to begin ordering, we were asked to eat our dessert at the bar to make space for the next guests. We cancelled our dessert and left. Unfortunately we ended the night less than impressed and won’t be recommending it to friends. The service was nice, although it could be a bit more attentive. The rooms are very large and they could improve their organization. The food is just incredible, and the portions very filling. I believe they use some cheap vegetable oil as the food sat very heavy despite it was just fish. Was really surprised by the quality! We walked in on a Saturday afternoon without booking. Saw a few tables that are clearly tourists. Stunning deco and so beautiful. Beautiful atmosphere like dining in a museum. The food was good, but the value to price equation is not equal. You are paying for good (not great) food in a beautiful setting. The worst part of our dining experience was the management. The restaurant advertised a set menu for a set price during specific dates. We went on one of the designated dates but were told that day was excluded because it was a holiday. We showed the manager the advertisement and how it did not mention exclusions for holidays. She responded that we should have checked their website! So we checked their website and showed her the exclusion is not mentioned. She said we should have called! We said we did call to make the reservation and specifically inquired about the menu for that date. After about ten minutes, she showed up at our table with the set menu in hand and pointed at that it stated holidays were excluded. We asked how we are supposed to know that before arriving, being seated, and being handed a menu? She was satisfied that she proved us wrong and departed. It was strange that she was obsessed with proving us wrong. Anyway, good food in a great environment. Maybe stop by for a drink or dessert, but dine somewhere else. I sit at my table for 15 mins and not even water is offered. 25 mins later, my server finally makes eye contact. Super cool venue and the food was incredible. We had the cod two ways (dual preparations) and the ribs. Both were unique, flavorful and great portion sizes. We were also treated to some selected chocolate desserts courtesy of the chef which were fantastic. Just had dinner here and the place itself is beautiful! But it seems like that’s all it has going for it. The food was ok, the duck was chewy but the veal was tender. The main issue is that it took two hours to get an appetizer and entrees. We wanted to get dessert and even that took far too long to the point that we said forget it. When they brought us the check, they said we could take the dessert to go…but they still charged us for it. When we asked for it to be taken off, they said “so you don’t want it then?”. The dessert was apparently already made so I guess the restaurant would rather throw food away than give it to customers as an apology for the outrageous wait times. For the cost of our meal (over €140) it’s the least they could have done. So many places with far better customer service and good quality all around this restaurant. This is an impressive establishment! The former palace in central Lisbon turned into a beautiful restaurant/bar. The food is gorgeous, presented in a fine dining style but portions aren't small,they are just right. Service is attentive,fast and efficient. Priced reasonably compared to similar places we have eaten. After the diner we went to the bar where we enjoyed several drinks at the small balcony overlooking the park and one of the busy streets. We booked a table for 4 on 22.8.23 and as soon as we arrived our waiter was really unfriendly. The waiter didn‘t listen to us, really bad service overall, Never refilled our water or beers. When our main course arrived every used (+empty) starter plate was still on our table. Pre Covid I was an enthusiastic fan recommending Palacio Chiado to all my friends and acquaintances. The place is beautiful. Now prices doubled, food quality declined, and every customer was a tourist. It's a completely different place. Avoid! The restaurant cancelled our reservation by email on the day we were due to dine. Whilst on holidays I rarely check my email so it was 6pm before I realised we had nowhere to go for dinner. We had terrible customer service. First the cocktails. We ordered and it took probably 30 mins til we got them. They said the ticket didn't print. Our server was brand new. He was ok but he was working with another lady and they didn't seem to work together at all. We were celebrating a birthday and had requested a surprise cake. I cannot deny that the decor and the build that this restaurant is located in is absolutely beautiful, but the atmosphere and the service let me down. The restaurant felt empty whilst being fairly busy due to the size and the staff (except one server) gave off tje vibe we where more of a nuisance than a customer. This is one of the best location I’ve ever visited, by the way it’s the only good thing here. Food wasn’t too bad but I’ve ordered some croquettes that were awful (pork ears, pork paws and pork cartilagine wasn’t mentioned in the menu). Staff and service are not the best in town, but if you are here in Lisbon and want a particular atmosphere I highly recommend this place. P.S. The place should have been really gorgeous but we unfortunately didn't see very well with the poor lighting... In terms of cocktail that was ridiculous. We order 2 whiskies old fashioned and we were served 2 whiskies on the rock with orange peel. The Aperol Spritz was watered down and tasteless (10-12 euros a cocktail). The old Palace is beautiful but the waiters messed up our order as they did with other tables and once that happened they avoided coming over to us. A very beautiful building. Restaurant looks elegant. The food was delicious and the presentation was very nice. What didn't I like. Small and cramped toilet, as if at the station. May have been the only disappointment during our trip in Lisbon. Could have easily been a 4-5* review but… Pricing were not properly updated. Physical menu vs digital menu (pictures attached) were an extra 10-12 euros/mains item more expensive easily. If the food quality matched the prices of the item, that would have been great but clearly not. We paid 65 euros for two mains (a risotto and octopus dish), and a bottle of water, that however felt extremely overpriced given the subpar taste. For the same price, we were able to get a starter, two mains (octopus as well), two glasses of wine and a dessert, and the taste was a lot better as well. Booking was also made online, that oddly got cancelled on its own for no good reason or explanation. Arrived there still, to be told no availability and then suddenly there’s a no show. We got lost on our way to the restaurant. Due to this when we arrived our table was give away, yet 125 euro no show was taken from my account as we sat discussing our table options with the manager. I'm not happy to have chosen this place for dinner. Firstly the place is quite dark and do not have air con, the room we sat was round and with very tall ceiling with questionable furnishings. The table is a mirror. We ended up ordering too much food thanks to bad suggestions from the waiter. The food was wonderful, decor also impressive. One star deducted because the service severely lacked. Upon arrival the greeter showed me a table, despite the fact it was set for three people she then told me we could have a nicer table in another room, I was escorted to wait in the bar and when my friend arrived informing us the third person would not be coming she then told us we wouldn’t be having the good table and had to sit at the first table, note that this is at 9:30pm on a Wednesday and the restaurant was not full. We were celebrating so wanted to order a €200 bottle of champagne they had on the menu, of course they did not have any so we settled with the next best however we had to continually pour the bottles ourselves because at our “terrible” table we were overlooked by the wait staff often. Had dinner with friends on November 25. Abysmal service. Waited more than 2 HOURS for our meals while we watched other parties who arrived after us get served. Had to threaten walking out before they magically arrived. Food was fine. Nothing special. We asked to see the manager who took more than a half hour to show up. She made an excuse about how our order wasn't put in the system right, but didn't offer to comp our wine, dessert, or anything. [Correction: I learned after the fact that our covert, one bottle of wine and desserts were comped. But, we were not told the manager was planning to do this so none of us realized it until much later. As a result, I upgraded my rating from one to two stars.] It even took a ridiculously long time to get our desserts, but the check arrived in record time. This was the best restaurant we got to visit during our holiday in Lisbon. I had Tiger Prawn rissotto with asparragus and my husband had the pork neck and both dishes were full of flavour, texture, colours. We also had the covert and the artisan bread came with two different types of butter (One with truffle that I loved) and they were delicious. The restaurant is also very beautiful!!!! Truly a superb experience. The building is specular with art and architecture that makes you feel like you are on the way to the Sistine Chapel. We had a perfect table by an open door. The food was delicious and presented so well. Cocktails were refreshing and perfectly balanced. Try the famous Green Lantern. Our waiter (Nelson) was helpful, professional, attentive, and spoke perfect English which was quite helpful. I should have of course learned more Portuguese before the trip (typical tourist!). What a disappointment! I was looking forward to a nice dinner yesterday. The place is beautiful and the food was highly recommended. Indeed, the food was very good and the service outstanding. However, it was unbearable. The music was far too loud. They have a DJ playing techno of some sort and the whole place felt more like a club than a restaurant. We could barely hold a conversation during dinner. We asked the staff to lower the music, which they did, but the DJ turned it up again after a short while. The DJ had been clearly acting like the place was a night club and not a restaurant. We finally ended up asking to be moved to a quieter table, but even though the staff tried their best, the music was unbearable everywhere, even in the toilets! In short, what a pity. It could have been a really nice experience. Instead, I was glad when the dinner was over and could leave the place. I will never consider going back or recommending it to a friend. There were a couple of ppl drinking at the bar. It has a cool concept of 6 restaurants/kitchens in it. I ordered the smoked ham and oxtail croquette and codfish pastel. I couldn’t choose which I liked more!! Both were flavorful and the perfect amount for 3€ a piece. Then for my entree ordered was the braised quail with 2 fried eggs. Went here for lunch and it was a rather good meal. At the time I picked shrimp curry, one of the daily menu dishes, and it tasted really nice. The spiciness was well balanced with the curry flavor and both the rice and the shrimp were well cooked. The service was nice and quick, although at the time there weren't many people there. Great experience: we booked our dinner through the fork app on an October Saturday night at 6:30pm and we got two options, 7pm or 10pm. We grabbed the 7pm one and although we were a bit late we had no problem getting our table. The place is a formal palace with a very impressive staircase leading to the second floor (which where we got our table). Since we were early, as far as the evening goes, we got immediate service and our waiter was very attentive and quick throughout the next hour and a half or so even though the place was filling up quickly. My wife had an excellent onion soup and a decent steak (no fish for her) and I had the octopus. The steak was tasty, perhaps a little less than the medium she asked for (although she noticed that in Portugal, medium tends to be closer to rare than medium-well-done) and my octopus was excellent. We had even room for desert which was also great. The restaurant has at least two levels (I think only two) but has a few smaller sized area which tends to be less crowded. Prices tend to be more on the higher scale but you get some free starters (bread, olives, butter with some herbs). All in all very pleasant experience. An excellent meal in a fantastic setting. We started with the interesting and modern take on a Lisbon classic “polvo a lagareira” which was served with beets and other pickles to cut through the (surprisingly) rich and buttery octopus. I followed my starter with their magret de canard, a dish I last ate in Toulouse several years ago. Duck breast is hard to get right, and when I asked for it rare/bleu I was skeptical that they could deliver - however it turned out to be one of the best dishes I tried during my week long stay in Lisbon. My friends also took a ceviche (pictured) which was fresh, acidic and delicious. Overall if you want a great meal in a truly wonderful and beautiful setting, you’d be hard pressed to find a better spot in the city. I didn’t have a reservation on a Friday night yet the graceful receptionist prepared a small but great table for me. This former palace has been transformed into a multi-room restaurant. Try sitting upstairs - it’s more grandiose. Service was wonderful. My food was too: a delicious fish soup (complex, flavorful) and a perfectly cooked salmon with an original rice/vegetable/fruit salad. Even the herb butter and the crusty bread were excellent. I hope my next visit is as memorable as this one. I was brought here for a business dinner and it is one of the most grande visually stunning buildings I saw in Portugal. The drinks and deserts were great but I found my Ribs meal very dry. They also asked to re-seat us due to a big time movie star from Portugal wanting the room we were eating in. I found that tacky but we were almost finished so it ended up fine. This placed seemed like a diners dream come true...great ratings based on over 1000 reviews, chic vibe and beautiful venue that draws you right in, and close to a hip area in Lisbon. Sadly this dream turned into a culinary nightmare very quickly. We ordered the bacalhau and spicy tuna poke bowl. Presentation wise, both dishes looked very appetizing and makes you want to dig right in. However, both were very underwhelming. The bacalhau really lacked flavor and was not good at all. I've had way better bacalhau elsewhere at more than half the price this place charges. The tuna poke bowl had too much soy sauce and was way too salty. Based on the enormous amount of positive reviews this place had, I expected a lot more but was left very underwhelmed. I feel you pay more for the ambiance than the taste of the food itself. Also it seems they charge water by the glass instead of by the bottle. The server was nice but I would not come back here as food was a huge disappointment. Very special atmosphere, but unfortunately the food didn't live up to the expectations: starters were good, but the main course was very average: the battered cod was almost cold when served, and the portuguese steak rather underwhelming in taste. Very cool interior, great service, excellent food and good prices for Europe. There are 5 separate kitchens spread out in the establishment, you order from each kitchen. Great choices in all kitchens, we are coming back in a couple of days so we can try something from each kitchen. Recommend coming on Sunday as it's not that crowded.
