  Great little restaurant serving the best food we experienced during our short stay in Lisbon. Imaginative menu, cooked perfectly. Especially enjoyed the selection of small sharing plates including raw salmon cerviche, burrata and shrimp, fried fish tacos. All exquisitely flavoured. Main of prawn saffron rice was unusual and tasty. Three small plates and one main was ample for two. Unfussy service, helpful and informative waiter. Perfect last meal in lovely Lisbon.   The food here is exquisite. The photos really do not do the food justice as we were so focused on eating, I kept forgetting to take pictures. Highlights were the crab bao ( we went back for a second portion!), the fish tacos, and the shrimp risotto.   Delicious food, but portions pretty small for what it is. Service and atmosphere were very nice, but what made this a 3 star instead of 4 is that they don’t take “non Portuguese” cards, but they apparently text you to warn you. But, if you have an “American” number, you apparently don’t get the text. So what’s the point? The manager finally accepted to take my card payment but she was pissed because of transaction fees. Lady, that’s the cost of doing business especially if you want tourists to come to your restaurant. Also, please don’t wash the floors with chlorine or bleach when customers are eating.   Excellent seafood restaurant! The main dish with octopus was the best thing we tried. Forgot to take a picture of the soft taco we had that was a clear runner up.   Incredible food and service. The staff were extremely nice and the food was creative and tastefully done. Prices were on par with quality. I had a wonderful time there and it was one of the more memorable meals I've had in a long time. The waitress was also extremely kind and wonderful. I went there twice and had the same experience. However, the only downside of this place is that they only have one waiter serving ALL the tables and greeting/seating the new customers. She’s running around doing the job of 2-3 waiters.   If you're American and wondering - CASH ONLY. Don't end up like the two ditzy Americans sat next to us who made shocked Pikachu faces at the waiter when it came time to pay their check. This place is fantastic. The food was incredible - we ordered three small plates: the Ceviche, Crab Bao, and Tuna Tataki - all of which had us Mmmm-ing and Ughhghh-ing the entire way through. We finished with the Octopus entre which was SO tender (completely unlike the chewy octopus you might get for sushi) and a cup of the tiramisu which was nice but not earth-shaking. We were happy. The price with drinks for two came to about €80.   In truth I think it’s a very unique place but the food wasn’t anything special. The octopus is a must have and I would definitely try that. The green eggs and tacos were ok. The raw fish tacos were lacking flavour and punch whereas the soft tacos with friend fish were much better. The crab boa was decent. The risotto with saffron and shrimp was slightly disappointing. We had all three deserts - I would recommend the cannoli but the mouse and tiramisu were ok. Super interesting interiors and great staff.   This used to be my favorite restaurant in Lisbon (I came straight from the airport to the restaurant because I loved it so much) and will not be coming back. 1. The staff was very rude, I didn’t feel welcomed at all, specially the woman. 2. It was agreed on the email a set price for the dinner and they charged everything individually, so we were not able to choose our food, or the quantity (which was an outrageous amount of food for a group of girls) and still had to pay much more than the price agreed previously. 3.   Had high hopes for this place. The ambition level is high, however the flavor profiles are lacking balance leaning into more is more and that must mean good...right? The fried shrimp taco was flat at best. Iceberg has a home in my heart, however here it pulled the dish down. The blantantly sugared dressing it was tossed in also an odd choice. Albeit I am from S. California where tacos are a street staple. Now the bao. Pan fried bao left me wondering why? Bao is best described as a cloud in your mouth, these were not.   One thing to know before you go: This place only accepts Portuguese credit cards, so bring cash. The food is good but I would say that its not amazing. At the same time for the price its very decent. One thing that was really annoying is all the Verde wines and Rose wines were out and the resturant opened 30 min before fe got there. That was disappointing. Service was fairly quick and attentive. The Golden Shrimp Risotto is very good and highly recommended. The other dish that was good in my opinion is Buffalo Shrimp dish. Also AC does not really work so it was very hot and the resturant is very small. It has maybe 10-12 tables. We were placed in a small corner seat where the chair could barely open next to a group of 8 men, but the rest of the restaurant was free. I should have asked to move but I thought it was already fully booked at the time 3. Food is very overrated. I got the ceviche, octopus salad and saffron risotto all of which I have had much better and cheaper versions of in other restaurants across Lisbon. 4. Toilet had no tissue, no hand dryer, no hand tissue, no soap, dirty toilet seat with urine and other rubbish. I had to ask to get these replaced. In a restaurant with ONE toilet for over 30 guests you'd think they would be tiny bit more prepared.   Was here for New Year’s Eve and with high expectations. Maybe that’s why I thought it was so abysmal. They only served a set NYE menu which is fair—the menu was 60€ per person which is quite a hefty price. When ordering we were given the regular menu (for drinks) where the prices of the same dishes that were on the set were explained. We realized that the dishes served were more than twice the price of those on the regular menu so already felt a little cheated at this point. However the largest issue was the food quality. Some dishes were ok and some were outright bad. The dishes came in the wrong order and didn’t correspond to the menu (were served an awful briny risotto instead of the bottarga risotto that was on the menu).   The food was ok and the service and ambiance was good. But! The do not except international cards! And this is despite the fact that 1/3 of visitors - tourists.   Exceptional food, just exceptional. I’m writing this in 2024 but this is the fourth time we’ve come here in 3 years. It’s always top of our list when recommending places to eat in Lisbon. Simple, unpretentious and delicious. We rarely change our order, which is usually: golden rice with prawns (if you order nothing else, get this. Perfection on a plate); grilled octopus (smoky and perfectly seasoned); fish tacos; crab bao buns. It’s mostly seafood, although we’ve tried the pulled pork sandwich (pretty good too).   The food is excellent. The service has always been good... until today. We booked a table for 8 pm through 'The Fork'. We sat at that time. However, some of our fellows were late and arrived only at 9 pm. The waitress warned us that she had a reservation for 10pm. At 9.58 pm we wanted to ask for our last dish (it's a tapas restaurant) and we were told we wouldn't be served because of that reservation. The restaurant was almost empty and only a small group to be seated. It could be really simple to serve us asking us to hurry up, which we would have for sure.   OK, the starters were actually tasty (ceviche, cod cakes, tuna). The golden risotto was liked by others of my group, no so by me, so I take the blame. However, the place got insanely hot inside, it was noisy because of the huge crowd squeezed there and the poor waiter guy (who was later joined by a lady) were just unable to run all the tables by himself. Tourist trap, and expensive one too. If you're after real Portuguese food, avoid, if you're after feeling like a hipster in a pretty little typical street devouring the atmosphere, then go. But the mais attraction is the really soft perfectly cooked Octopus that is to die for! Wow!   My favorite restaurant in Lisbon! I'd come back every time I visit the city. The price-quality-quantity ratio cannot be beat by other restaurants. It's a pretty small restaurant so for dinner I'd recommend getting a reservation. I also went for lunch and it was pretty easy to get a seat without waiting. MUST GET: Fish tacos (fried), octopus, cod croquettes, pork cheek, burrata. But honestly, we got almost the whole menu and you can't really go wrong! DON'T GET: nothing really but if you force me to say something to avoid, I'd say the Gold Rice was not mind blowing as compared to the other dishes.   One of the best meals we had in Lisbon. There were just as many locals eating here as tourist which is always a good sign. The staff where very attentive and explained that the menu was made up of smaller dishes to share and how many we should order. He said the octopus was their best dish and he wasn't wrong, the cod fritters where very tastey as well. Only downside is they only except Portuguese bank cards so you need to pay by cash otherwise.   Found Agua Pela Barba by chance wandering Bairro Alto from our accomodation. Cozy, bustling and inviting we were happy to get the only table not occupied without a reservation. The octopus was the best we've ever tasted and the shrimp rice so tasty I could've had seconds. A great restaurant we would recommend to anyone.
