  Unreal how amazing this place was. Service, ambiance and food and pricing was so good. One of our best meals in Lison and entire trip. We got 2 upgraded steaks (added more oz) and the 4 sides we chose were good. We inhaled the food, it was that good. Not a cheap Lisbon meal but where I am from this is almost 50% the cost in my city.   I visited on 9th March & had an amazing experience. The manager Peter greeted me upon arrival, the greeting and service that I received from him was immaculate. I was suggested several steaks, the ribeye I chose was excellent. If you want proper food & excellent customer service, then this is the best place in Lisboa to visit.   Great little steakhouse in the basement of a large building. The food was mostly delicious but the dessert was a bit lackluster. The potato wedges and garlic bread were fantastic! The steak was nicely done. The Apple crumble was soggy. The service was very slow even by Portuguese standards, but they were very nice.   Just amazing! We had to cancel our initial reservation due to unforeseen circumstances and when we could actually make it 30 minutes later they fit us in no problem and were very understanding.   We ate here on New Year's Eve with friends, and it was a set menu. That said, one of our group had an allergy, so they did change the starter for them. The Starter's were excellent, and the main course (2 different steaks) was by far the best steak that we had in 2023. Our only critique would be the furnishings.   This is one of those restaurants designed for Loud People to Celebrate In. So the service is lovely and the wines are great. There is Decor. But the surfaces are hard, so the place is deafeningly noisy. The lighting is hideous. And my steak was gristly, badly seasoned, and indifferently cooked. (It wasn’t the restaurant’s fault, but to the loud, obnoxious man sitting with his perfectly lovely family next to us, I just want to say: Sir, next time you’re in a restaurant — or pretty much anywhere — do not bellow things at the wait staff like “Bring me your best steak, I said! And your best wine!”. And, once in a while, shut up and let your children and partner speak.) There is always at least one dude like this at a steak restaurant. Either way, please don’t go here.   It’s a nice restaurant a little out of the way. The service was decent, and the menu is mostly beef. The appetizer was delicious, as were the sides. But the main course was disappointing. I had an aged Ribeye, and my wife had the aged Sirloin. They were both tasty, but tough. The ribeye was smaller than indicated on the menu. It was only about 1 cm thick, I’d estimate it weighed 150 grams, much of which was left behind as trim. Once the order was served, no one came while we were eating to check on our satisfaction. I had high hopes for a great meal after enjoying the appetizer, but was unsatisfied with the main course. I intended to have desert, but after asking for and receiving a desert menu, the waitperson did not return to take our order for fifteen minutes, by which time I had lost my desired for desert.   Im a guy that travels a lot, and visited many places and many resturants, this resturant is one of the very few that caught my heart, the quality of meat and food there is above top level, i took the NY steak (medium) + lumb chops (which they made me an exeption) and it was soo good the taste still in my mouth (an hour and half passed already) really enjoyed it and before i fly back to my country i will surely visit again, about parking it doesnt say it but when you go up the road and see this big gateway just go in and dont continue to the main road (that was my mistake) highly recommended, highly skilled, would come back again!   This place was amazing! Trendy spot located in the basement of a builing. Id definitley return on my next visit for sure. We had the garlic bread, carpaccio salad, rib eye steaks, carob cake and apple crumb. Everything was delicious, including the house cocktail! Just please try the Rib Eye, it was cooked to perfection!   Great experience. We came around 8pm on a Thursday, we didn't have a booking but there was space for us. We had a hilarious waiter Pedro. The menu is very affordable you can choose 200g of different meats and 2 sides dishes for 17-23€. They also have larger and finer cuts of beef like tomahawk if you prefer.The meat was really well cooked and seasoned. Get the potato wedges, they were amazing. The coleslaw was pretty good too.   The food was excellent for sure. We loved our cuts and the fried potatoes and aioli were great. Dessert of apple crumble was very good as was our wine. The ambience was really nice, despite a few kids running around. It's a beautiful location. The service can be improved. Our server was inattentive. We had better service from other waiters. We asked for the check and waited 15 min at least. We asked the host and he said our server will get it in a quite rude tone. Finally we got it. Then we tried paying and had cash in hand ready for the bill when it came. He walked away and we waited another 10 min. Finally we put exact change and left. It really messed up our nice meal. They had a line of people waiting for a table so you'd think they'd want turn over. I also emailed the restaurant weeks before the reservation as it was my husband's birthday dinner and they said they'd do a special dessert as a surprise to celebrate.   I usually never leave bad reviews because I understand the service industry and how hard it can be. But I had an extremely disappointing experience here. We came here for a honeymoon and birthday dinner and I wish we went somewhere else. We had great drinks and great appetizers and then we had a really bad experience. We waited an hour for our steaks to come and when the Fillet came out it was so over cooked it was un enjoyable, when I had ordered it medium rare. Our waiter was all over the show and super unprofessional. When I had told someone this was overdone and that I just wanted the bill, they ordered another fillet and we’re going to charge us for the extra steak. When we had told them it was fully overcooked they also brought the new steak out in 5 minutes. Funny how we waited an hour in the beginning. This was a huge disappointment and waste of a honeymoon dinner and only having a night in Lisbon. Go elsewhere.   Great selection of meats. The meat is also the shining star of Atalho Real (as it should be!) the other food was disappointing. We got a "creamy baked sliced potatoes with black pepper" - it was NOT creamy and you could not find seasoning in it to save your life, I don't think there was a single black pepper corn in there. The salad was bland but the cole slaw alright. The drinks were good. At it's price point I could not recommend Atalho Real since there are better and more affordable restaurants in Lisbon.   This place was a bit confusing to find, but had a great outdoor dining area. Unfortunately, our great impression ended after drinks. The caipirinhas were great, but we ordered the Dry Aged Ribeye to share and it was very tough and bland. We did order it medium rare, as recommended, but we asked for them to cook it a bit more because it was very tough and the fat was still white. When it was brought back it was definitely better, but still not up to our standards. With so many positive reviews, we were very disappointed.   I don’t usually leave bad reviews, however this one was earned. We were excited to come here, as we read the reviews (the good and bad ones, we were staying positive thinking the bad things we were reading could not happen to us). We ordered a tomahawk which was very rare - we asked for medium - but it didn’t come as a surprise as the waiter explained this might happen and they would take the rare part and cook it a bit more midway. We asked for that, they took the best pieces of our meat away and when we asked about it 30 mins later, our waiter left to ask the kitchen, probably, but she did not come back with an answer. So, after another 15 boring minutes, they brought 4 strings of fatty chewy meats, clearly not our tomahawk pieces. No explanation, no excuses, nothing. We did not comment and we tipped well, as we were in a great mood, but it s just a heads up for other customers. Dear management, it would be nice if you trained your servers better and have some sort of control over these situations.   What saved the experience was the atmosphere and service. An absolutely beautiful night to sit outside for dinner our first night in Lisbon. Gorgeous mature trees, nice lighting. Staff is very friendly and courteous. So now the food. Had it been everything I read about this place would have gotten 5 stars but the ribeye was chewy and I couldn’t eat it. The filet mignon was tender as you would expect from this cut but it was average at best, and thin. Nothing special at all about the food here. Now for the positives. The potato wedges ordered as a side were excellent, the best part of the meal. The Portuguese bread with garlic butter we ordered as an appy was excellent too. Also the bees were out of control.   The steak was a little unevenly cooked, which was a little unexpected given that this is a steak restaurant. Overall this is a beautiful place though so highly recommend going.   We made an table reservation few weeks earlier, when we arrived at the time there was no table reserved. They handled that quite ok and we waited for 15 minutes and they arranged us an table. The waiter who was serving us was quite rude. And we ordered appetizers, and main courses. We were still eating the appetizers when the waiter just brought our main courses to the table. We had a feeling that we need to rush with the eating. Overall the food was good, service wasn’t.   A bit difficult to find, there's almost no sign. In the end, you realize it's in the court to access the botanical garden, in a lovely location (for summer time). Only negative side: smokers all over you throughout the meal. The interior also looks very nice. Service was on point, everyone was super kind and could speak perfect English. The waiter was very supportive in the choice of wine. The offer was broad, ranging from various kinds of steak to burgers (careful, all meat based). The steak (rib eye) was one of the best ones I've ever tried, but it was just too small. Two sides are included in the dish and those were abundant. Please, value your main product, the meat!   Had my birthday dinner here. The steaks were fantastic and the wine was good as well. Staff who took our reservation and seated us was very friendly and gave us a nice corner table for our party of 6. The serving staff were perhaps new as they seemed inexperienced, but the effort was there. Only negative was that the portion of the side dishes were too small.   I definitely recommend that you check this place out if you're in Lisbon. They have a beautiful outdoor seating area, and if you don't have a reservation you will still be seated quite quickly. They have amazing and attentive service. Also their food selection is fantastic. I would recommend that you try their "Dry Aged Ribeye" and their potato wedge as a side, though everything else that we tried was great.   Atalho Real cannot be missed! We ate there for dinner twice on our week long trip from the US to Lisbon and the food and atmosphere was immaculate. You can either eat inside the Embaixada or outside on the romantic terrace with bistro lights surrounded by trees and a garden. You choose a cut of steak (or lamb) and two sides for $23. That is unheard of in the States! It was like the Capital Grille for 1/4 of the price. My lamb was phenomenal and the steak unforgettable. We tried at least four of the sides (cole slaw, salad, gratin potatoes, potato wedges) and were fantastic and flavorful. The pina colada came in an adorable glass and was so tasty. Our server on the first night (and birthday night!) Maria was AMAZING! Such great energy, kind, a true gem. You MUST visit while in Lisbon and especially if you're in the Bairro Alto area!   The only good things about this restaurant was the setting and the garlic bread. Waiters weren't able to answer any questions about wine or even recommend one. We were a group of 7 and each steak was prepared wrongly. This was unfortunately the most chewy and also the worst steak I ever had. We wanted to order garlic bread for the steak (while we received our steaks) and they told us the kitchen is closed. For garlic bread?   Such an AMAZING experience. Besides the food being absolutely incredible… our service was outstanding. We felt like celebrities from the moment we walked in the door (and quite literally questioned whether the staff mistook us for someone we weren’t haha!).   Let me start with the good: steaks were nicely seasoned. Good variety of options for sides. Decent wine list Now the bad: One steak ordered medium arrived rare. Another steak ordered medium-well arrived medium-rare. The temperature differences were massive. Service level was not friendly and lacked energy. The waitress was argumentative when we raised the problem with the cook temps of the two steaks (I still cannot believe she was trying to convince us on the right cook temp given how obviously off it was). The kitchen returned the two steaks cooked all the way through out of an abundance of caution. Another sign that the cooks aren't as skilled at cooking meats. All in all, I wouldn't return.   So tempted not to write a glowing review as it might negatively impact my chances of getting an impromptu table. I love this place. Never had a bad meal/drink/experience here. The staff are wonderful and only surpassed by the food which is fresh, vibrant, intelligently and perfectly cooked. If you have the time/inclination for a dry martini, order it with Nordes gin for something close to what they would serve in Heaven if such a place existed (it doesn't, deal with it).   The eye fillet was great. As were all the sides (potato gratin was a highlight). However the sirloin/ strip steak was extremely sinewy and hard to eat. Whilst it was full of flavour, it was chewy and we were ready to send back. The drinks were great but service incredibly slow (assuming the staff member was new).   Ate dinner in Atalho Real last night. I had the fillet steak sandwich and my fiancé had the fillet steak with 2 sides. Both were absolutely delicious, as was the bottle of champagne we had with it.   Awesome views, relaxed atmosphere, kind staff and great food. Those are the keywords to describe Atalho Real. Even the old fashioned I ordered before the food was good. I like how welcoming they were, but I guess it’s a Portuguese thing who probably are the kindest people in Europe in my opinion.   Exceptional! Lisbon is a superb destination in any case but this restaurant proved an excellent and lucky stumble upon on our last night to make it even better. We had a relatively brief wait of 45 minutes for our table while a substantial jug of the best sangria on offer in Iberia kept us more than happy. The wait illustrating kern demand. We were given a lovely table with excellent efficient service from very pleasant staff under the warmth of the lisbon night sky. The atmosphere was very welcoming and warm. The location is central and close to avenida so is useful when walking to and from most city centre locations. The food was excellently prepared. Succulent meat options in abundance. Its their speciality. Beef, pork and chicken options were complimented by Portuguese coleslaw with apple accompanied with green salad, potato dauphinoise and skin on fries. A fresh fruit bowl option for desert was a pleasant surprise. Attractive looking, tasty and refreshing. Obviously the chocolate and cream based options were there. There was only Portugese wine options which isn't necessarily a drawback. Can't see much in the way of negatives. The hotel restaurant area to which the outdoor restaurant is associated is actually an 18th century building, which if nothing provided a fairly interesting sidebar when using the toilet facilities.   Where to start, unfortunately the service was so slow, both for drinks and food. It did feel we were a little forgotten at one point. Once we made the order the starters did come out quickly, however when the food came out, 2 had to be returned to the kitchen as the steak was very over cooked and dry. The service really put a downer on the experience, trying to get additional drinks through the meal was just difficult and acted the experience. Looking at reviews I am wondering whether service would be better during the day when things were a little quieter. I would recommend checking the bill, we got over charged for some wine, however when questioned with the waiter he resolved straight away. Would I go here again (it is the second time)...   WARNING - WORST RESTAURANT EXPERIENCE EVER. I came in with high hopes of quality food and service, they failed to deliver on both. Inexplicably slow service. Multiple food ordering errors that I politely made note to the server but was kind enough to not send back. To wrap things up, the bill came and I realized they charged the larger sangria pitcher that when asked the server blamed me for not noticing the pitcher size difference of 1L vs 1.5L.   We went there for a very late dinner. 10:45pm. Shared the croquettes, got the black iberico sandwich and the chuck eye sandwich with the planalto reserva wine from duomo. Finished with a chocolate cake with strawberry sorbet and the carob cake with orange sorbet. The chuck eye sandwich was great! Better than the iberico. The croquettes were smooth inside and had a nice thin crunch outside. The stars ways the wine which was dry and beautifully crisp without any unnecessary frills and the carob cake. The only star I left off is because we asked for the orange sorbet with the carob cake and we got the lemon instead. We were told that they would get the orange sorbet soon but it never came and we didn't insist since it was late already and we were halfway through.   A lovely setting eating in the garden of this restaurant, was served by really friendly staff, a really relaxed atmosphere. Whilst the service was a little bit slow the food more than made up for it. All the food was lovely from the melted cheese starter through to the steak. Steak was really succulent and juicy cooked to perfection. Was really surprised by the bill so much less than I thought it would be. My son has already recommended this place to his flat mate for when his family visit Lisbon and I am looking to coming back when we next visit.   Great steaks for very affordable prices with an amazing view and good atmosphere. The provoleta was delicious and simple and pairs well with some wagyu beef strips. Been twice in a week and tried both the Picanya and the Filet - both great, recommend medium done. Also their sangria was good enough to turn lunch into a 2 hour occasion. Staff was very friendly!   For the starters I recommend you to try the bolo do caco bread with garlic butter, it's just delicious!! If you are feeling adventurous try the Provolone cheese. It's basically melted cheese with oregano and bolo do caco bread! For the main entry I tried picanha and the fillet. This last one is definitely the best meat I ever eat. It's so tender, no fat and full of flavour. The side dishes that I like are the potato wedges and sometimes the mixed salad.   Stunning building and a little hard to find once inside. Head to Gin Lovers and do a left down the stairs to the Atalho Real - look out for the old vintage lift! There is a nice outside seating/waiting area with a bar too. Small wait to be seated but a nice place to wait. Steaks were nice and I had the fillet.   We arrived without a reservation at 19:00 for dinner and sat right away without wait. Got a table outside. The weather was great so it was wonderful. The atmosphere outside is perfect. Small tables, on deck floors with trees rastling above us. There is a fountain in the middle to add the zen. We ordered the provolone cheese for starter. This dish is so simple and yet so great we couldn't stop eating it. Than for the main event we took the Tomahawk steak! It was perfectly done. Amazing and soooo goooood!!!   Quite the amazing restaurant. The food was so good. I mean, you always expect great meat when you visit places like this, which was confirmed. But the potatoes, oh man! Really really good. Chocolate cake for dessert was top notch as well. I stayed outside for dinner.   The place is located in the basement of a recovered palace that is now a concept store, with it's large windows and wood motives the place feels like old but with a touch of modern style. About the food, unfortely from my first visit there to my last one they lost some quality. Don't take me wrong, the chuleton still tastes great as the lamb ribs I ate, but they appear to have changed quantities. We had an sausage as appetizer but kind of dissapointing to not be served with some sause. Good experience but with the opening of so much alternatives of meat restarants doesn't feel like a 5 star experience anymore. Side courses are really goog and tasty, but SADLY last time I went the service was simply terrible, the waiters were all in a good mood, but we waited more than 15' to be able to order at least the drinks, they simply forgot we were sat there, the drinks didn't come as we ordered, actually my daughter had to go herself to the bar and get hers even though the glass was on the table. People who arrived after us was getting served before us. ??? When finally a waiter understood our discomfort she approached us and understood we hadn't had our order taken after 20'.   My goodness, what a great place, we arrived without a reservation but the young lady in charge produced a table in next to no time. The waiter was knowledgeable and fun and a good help, advising that the sangria was rather powerful, we took his word for it and it was true!   Best meals we've had in Lisbon, as we have come twice in our 7 day stay. Excellent fillet and lamp chops. Lovely outside seating. Very good prices as not inflated. Away from the tourist area and up a hill. Would definitely come again and highly recommended. 4 stars as our second visit they gave me the wrong dish. Ordered veggie burger and got the hamburger. Food was exchanged and the waitress was apologetic and gave excuse that it was chaotic in the kitchen. This didn't spoil our dining experience too much. Out of the 2 burgers the hamburger was definitely more tasty. The veggie wasn't that brill, I've had better. I wouldn't recommend the veggie burger. Best restaurant we had in Lisbon. Dos 2 hambúrgueres, o hambúrguer era definitivamente mais saboroso. O vegetariano não era tão brilhante, já comi melhor. Eu não recomendaria o hambúrguer vegetariano. Melhor restaurante que tivemos em Lisboa.

  First time we came we had a great time sitting in the beanbags and enjoying cocktails with some burgers. Prices are great for what you get. Second time we came wr had 2 wait over 25 to 30 minutes before they came 2 take our order. They were with 4 people in total and the area isnt big. They passed us multiple times without acknowledging that we were there. Not even a glimp. That should be improved. Especially for a classy place like Atalho Real. No geral o lugar é ótimo (faltou uma estrela por causa dos jovens da segunda visita que estavam ocupados brincando uns com os outros em vez de procurarem 2 convidados ajudantes)
