  What an amazing place! I’ve lived in Portugal for 6+ years and this is the most authentic fish place I’ve been too. Small, cozy, fresh food, amazing service, such a great atmosphere. Food was delicious! I completely recommend the clams (ameijoa à bulhão pato). My boyfriend can’t eat fish so he had a steak and it was great quality, perfectly cooked as well… what I loved the most was the attention!   This restaurant is so good that we regret we didn't stay longer in Nazare. The food was very delicious, the fish was fresh and nice. The thing that we liked the most was how welcoming and nice the personnel was - amazing people! They have helped us chosenig the best meal, offered us a plastic chairs to sit on while waiting for a free table and even gave us small souvenirs. The small details are making a big difference.   We loved this place! Stopped for lunch and chose one of the fish of the day. They showed us the fish and we chose what we fancied, which was seabass. They cooked it to perfection, served with potatoes and salad. The chocolate mouse for desert was fantastic! Great atmosphere inside with so much historical memorabilia to look at.   This was a nearly perfect experience. We had such an incredible lunch. We ordered far too much and still ate it all as it was so delicious. The man who I presume to be the owner was so friendly and the Canadian chef was too. The nautical decor was lovely and the place was just great. The only downside was the younger man server who made us feel confused and uncomfortable. We are only just getting into eating fish in restaurants, and we didn't really understand the system of how to buy it when he brought out a plate of fishes. We wanted to do it "properly" so tried, but it was confusing and we were scared we had bought a whole giant fish, so asked to change our order. The server visibly rolled his eyes and made like it was a great inconvenience. It was immediate, it wasn't like there was a chance for the kitchen to have started preparing, especially as it's an open kitchen and we were literally sitting next to it, talking to the lady cooking.   My husband and I were outrageously impressed with this beautiful little place! It truly does not get fresher than this! Simply prepared to highlight the unique flavors of the fish. The atmosphere is so warm and inviting, with family pictures, going back generations all over the walls. A truly authentic experience from a family so deeply connected to the sea. I highly recommended the fish of the day! They come to your table with the choices on a platter you can see and smell, it makes choosing off the menu so much more meaningful. My husband and I are largely pescatarian, and fish is an important staple in our diet. To have access to this opportunity while traveling is extraordinary. It is such an authentic meal and everyone there, especially the owner who took the time in this busy evening to share with us his history when we inquired about the pictures. They have the fish of the day and offer a perfect dinner for two with the freshest fish. Today we had the red snapper and it was so delicious. We love fish, and have had fish right off the boat in Iceland, Scotland, the Azores, United States and this place is on the top of the list. We felt like one of the family.   We were recommended here by a local friend and it is absolutely amazing! Victor’s family who owns the restaurant is also a fisherman like his forefathers. They fish for a living as well as for their restaurant so we r getting the freshest catch of the day. The grilled Red Snapper has a super delicate taste to it and it’s done very excellently! We love the potatoes and salad that comes with the fish as well as the bread and olives. Most of all, we enjoyed looking at the family photos on the wall. Victor is super friendly and helpful. He kept checking if we needed more potatoes or salad or anything. It’s amazing how he returned from his catch at 5 am showered to start work at his restaurant and he will be going out to the sea at 5 pm later. All the chefs in the kitchen greeted and thanked us when we were on our way out. Definitely coming back for the time we have here. Makes visiting Nazaré a great experience!!   Absolutely loved this place. Genuinely friendly service in a cozy dining room with perfectly prepared seafood and shellfish and refreshing green wine. Most of the restaurants we’ve tried in Nazaré met our needs and expectations, but this one seemed to have a little extra homespun magic that set it well above the rest.   We came here last Sunday for a late lunch. We were seated right away. Service was fast and efficient! we shared some grilled sardines and Turbot which were both excellent! We ended our meal with coffee and a cheesecake type of dessert. Everything was perfect. It was a relief that we decided to eat here, as earlier we were by the Nazare lighthouse area and saw a restaurant which didn't even care to receive us as we didn't speak any Portuguese.   Sitting on a side street away from the main seafront restaurants. Small and very busy. We missed the final available table and decided to have a couple of drinks while waiting for the next seating. It was well worth the wait. Clams were out of this world - clean, succulent and large. We ordered the Turbot which was one of the specials. Plain charcoal grilled - fresh and meaty. The fish is fresh and grilled directly on charcoal behind the restaurant. A little overpriced - 80€ to share a 2 person fish with a bottle of wine - and they charged for the bread, olives and cheese brought to the table without asking.   Amazing all around. Everyone’s reviews are spot on about how nice the staff and owner is. Get the clams!!! They explained all the fish, weighed it out and told us the price ahead of time. Fish came with potatoes and salad. Owner came and gave us shots of his homemade family liqueur which was good as well. I almost forgot, GET THE HOUSE WHITE WINE in the frozen jug. You can select a fresh fish to share but I went with the Dorade for one. Was able to take it apart with a spoon.   Best fish I have ever had. Amazingly good. Beware; they only accept cash, so we had to pay an additional 13 euros to withdraw due to fee and exchange rate.   We stopped in Nazare only because we wanted to see the lighthouse showcased in the HBO series “100 Foot Wave”, however, we discovered a special place. Rosa dos Ventos exceeded our expectations. Aside from outstanding seafood, the staff and customer service was the best we’ve seen in Portugal. The owner, Vitar (I believe this is his name) and his son, were amazing. While waiting for a table, they brought complimentary local beer, bread and olives and once seated, we were told the story about Nazare and the family’s history. The family ended the meal with complimentary local port, making for the ending of a perfect dining experience. If you have an opportunity to try Rosa dos Ventos, I would 100% not miss it. They have really fresh fish… we enjoyed the fresh grilled robalo (sea bass) and sardines. The best dish was the sautéed prawns in oil, garlic and coriander, mmm! Only thing that’s a challenge is shelling the whole prawns yourself, but that’s normal for Europe. Don’t forget to dip the bread in the garlic oil, so tasty!   We ordered the grilled whole snapper. Grilled Fish was same same here, as in most restaurants in Portugal, just grilled with lots of salt and nothing spectacular. I wanted a smaller fish, but the fresh fishes that were shown to us were almost identical. I am quite certain these were FARMED fish. I asked the owner and was told these were from the ocean. Really!!! This place does not take cash and owner did not tell us and we failed to see the little ‘no Visa’ sign posted on wall. We had to walk the distance to get cash.   Super super delicious, i would highly, highly recommend! The food overall is fantastic in Nazaré - but this restaurant was my favorite. I had the traditional Portuguese clams with cilantro and yummmm so so so good. My gf had the grilled squid, also delicious! Plus the service was super great, everyone was really nice and you could tell they all work together seamlessly as a team. I had the caramel dessert, which was homemade and excellent.   Fantastic. We had the grilled turbot, clams in wine/garlic/coriander, olives and cheese. The clams were AMAZING - perfectly cooked (but not over cooked), super fresh, and plump. We dipped the bread in the sauce it was so good. The grilled fish was the BEST we’ve ever had (and we eat a lot of fish).   This place is tucked right behind our Airbnb and it is a must go if you are in Nazare. The fish is ultra fresh and grilled to perfection and you get free flow of vege and potatoes.   We had our first diner in Nazare at Rosa Dos Ventos and was absolutely delighted with our meal and experience. We showed up without a reservasion and were lucky enough to get a table (I would strongly recommend to make a reservation as the place was packed). We ordered the clams as a starter and, oh man! they were phenomenal! Keep your bread for that broth. We followed that up with the grilled Sea Bass. They show you the fresh fish before you order and get to chose whatever suits you. This night we had a choice between Red Snapper, Turbot ans Sea Bass. The Sea Bass we had was grilled to perfection! Besides the food, the services was incredible! I would go back everynight if I could.   It was great, one of the few places where you can pick your fish, they weigh it and grill the whole thing with some interesting spice rub. We ate all there was, with head, skin and eyes and everything :-) Fish we picked was a grouper so flesh was easy to separate from bones.   Amazing food and wonderful people. The fish was the freshest that we saw on our whole trip, and was extremely tasty so you could tell it was fresh. We had scallops as starter and swordfish and black pig (in Spain called pata negra) as main course. Very nice. As dessert cheese cake and a almond custard coupe. In total we had to pay about €65 for this including coffee and bread with olives and chees as pre starters. Also we had a bottle of white house wine. If you like fish this is a good restaurant for you since they serve fresh fish from the grill too. Approximately €42/kg. Nice selection of wine by the way. We have eaten here every night during our stay in Nazaré (except for the closing day of the restaurant 😊). The clams with garlic and herbs are said to be the best ones in town! We went there on our second to last night and liked it so much we went back for dinner again the next night, we wished we’d found it earlier in our stay to have gone a few more times.   Definitely worth a visit when you’re in Nazare! Our tour guide brought us here as he said it is owned by a local fisherman friend. What FRESH seafood and cooked so simply and deliciously! They show you a platter of the fresh catch of the day and asks how you would like it cooked. Doesn’t get any better than that! The owner and his niece provided excellent service.The owner took pride in his resteraunt.and it showed. I highly recommend this restaurant.   We had olives, clams with garlic and olive oil, sardines, chocolate mouse, and almond dessert along with the house red and a 10 year tawny. The service was great, the clams were the best we ever had (and we come from a place that has great clams), and the bill came to around 35€ for a hearty meal for two. Excellent.
