  If you are looking for amazing seafood, you have to stop at A Tasquinha. My boyfriend doesn’t eat fish and he ate a whole casserole full of it 😅. Staff is very friendly and the owner super warm and attentive. 100% recommended, 100% traditional Portuguese food/seafood.   Got here just as doors were opening, very lucky to get in. Differently need reservations, there were 5 couples waiting when we left. Carlos very gracious host, food was fabulous squid was cooked perfectly, shrimp was fabulous, tasty Sangria also!   Such a great place for food in Nazare. Highly recommend dinner here. We ordered the pork steak and had the bread and cheese. Like a home cooked meal and amazing ambiance. Very relaxing.   I was welcomed so warmly at this restaurant. I had a lovely time as a solo diner, with a table at the window. The interior felt cozy and traditional. I so appreciated how friendly the staff was. The bread was fresh, the olives flavorful. I had a glass of the house red, with the tuna steak. For dessert, the coffee mousse. If I had more time I would've returned for another dessert. I don't write reviews that often but wanted to give this place credit for providing such a lovely experience for me. I recommend to anyone visiting Nazare.   Saw the reviews here and decided it was a must try. I’d recommend reservations because it’s such a popular place. But if you show up at opening the owner will try to fit you in. Once the doors are opened, everyone gets seated at once. Tables set, food and drink orders take with a smile and patience for non-speaking Portuguese visitors. I just can’t rave enough how good this place is. My wife had the pork steak in wine and I had the seafood rice. Both amazing! I can describe the seafood rice as Paella in a bowl. The food, atmosphere, friendly staff! The owner treats his guests like family! You’ll leave full and with a happy spirit. Carlos, the owner shared a drink of port with us before we left.   Mandatory Eats. Carlos and his family and crew are what I aspire to be one day. He made a connection with every table. Asked us where we were from, thanked us for coming into his establishment. Brought me and wife into the kitchen to show us a dish he recommended. As an old chef, I appreciated the gesture and the spotless kitchen. Felt guilty not to eat that lovely fish stew for two as I was set on the grilled calamari. Served with chips,salad and a wonderful oil relish. Sea bass was pan seared in a light sauce with capers and garlic.. cooked wonderfully crispy yet not over cooked. Starters are simple and straight forward presented at the table, olives, shrimp, cheese breads.. vino verde cold and in an ice bath…this is a place where they lead you through an experience, not just a place that feeds you. Carlos joined us for a fast Porto before he sent us off.. bravo to this eatery and I’m most likely driving back in the next days and will wait happily to get a table.   Dropped in for lunch at this very busy restaurant. Small place, with seating capacity for only about 20 people. We had sardines, clams and seafood soup with rice. All very good.   We were glad to get to eat at A Tasquinha during our brief stay is Nazaré. The restaurant opens at 7:15, and we didn’t have a reservation so we got there at 6:55, talked to the host who told me they were all booked with reservations but that he could probably squeeze me in right at opening because I was a party of 2. There was a line formed by 7:15 and many people were turned away. We got a nice seat in the back and had a lovely meal. The covert offered was bread, cheese, olives, prawns and butter- you can pick what you want (even nothing), we also ordered the legume soup, the seafood spaghetti and the seafood rice which were all so fresh and delicious. They have a nice selection of Portuguese wines. The staff was very friendly and the food excellent, I would definitely recommend eating here!   This rarely happens but this is a true 5 star experience. We were welcomed by Carlos (was fluent in many languages) who is a gentleman, funny and had very interesting stories. The service was top notch. Now the food...wow. We have had some great meals in Portugal, but this was probably our best. The fish soup was amazing, the clams were epic, and the arroz de mariscos - absolutely delicious with a very generous amount of seafood.   Really lovely restaurant, there was a queue outside before it opened but the staff found a table for us still and we're very friendly and helpful. Delicious food! One of our party was a vegetarian and they made her a lovely salad and soup and said next time if we tell them in advance they will make her a special vegetarian meal special. However words are not enough!!! food is cooked to perfection!! very big portioms;staff is very friendly and proffesional who treat each customer like if it was the only one in the restaurant even though the restaurant is packed and also people queuing outside waiting for a table. If we go back to Nazare no doubt we will call to book a table!!!   The staff was so nice and kind and the food was simply amazing! We took robalo grelhado [sea bass] and omg, what a taste! The queue at the front should speak for itself so be sure to come at the opening or make a reservation. If you need to wait, it's totally worth it! If you're coming with babies, there is a changing desk in the bathroom. I'm definitely coming back to this place if I ever visit Nazaré again. Obrigada!   This is a very friendly local restaurant that does very good seafood. Full of locals and tourists. We went for lunch, and the food was lovely uncomplicated and fresh. They went out of their way to help with my dietary restrictions and when we waited a short while for our table they provided complimentary ports for us and others. They were so popular that the restaurant was busy and turning over tables quickly but nobody was rushed out and at the end we also were offered glasses of port. Plus the restaurant was full, with people waiting outside, another good sign if you don’t mind waiting a few minutes. It was worth the wait. It has always been run by Carlos and his family and is, without a doubt, the BEST place to eat in Nazare. The food is cooked fresh and delicious. We booked for 9pm, we waited with a complimentary glass of white port, in patient anticipation of what was to become a fantastic meal. A very broad menu that would suit almost any family needs.   Definitely best and most popular to go to restaurant in Nazaré. A bit hidden, but always full, with more people waiting outside. Very good price quality. Highly recommended. Especially the Cataplana and Masa de Mariscos (seafood pasta). Good value wines too (I suggest vinho verde white wine Aleveda Alvarinho or Muralhas). We ate here twice in a week.   This place left me without words. There was a long queue outside but Mister Carlos gave me (and the others) a glass of wine for the long wait while outside. To smooth the long wait But reminding us that we were very welcome at this restaurant. The food was out of this world. I would give it 6 stars if I could. I went for dinner alone and him and his team were very special always asking if everything was ok. Very friendly and hard working. I had pasta with seafood, a sangria and a dessert Calle something with granny in Portuguese. But if the whole experience wasn’t good enough, in the end, mister Carlos toasted with me and gave me ice for my knee that was in pain.. and he even gave me cream to take to hotel with me so I could put it on my knee in the night !!!! I picked the perfect place to go for dinner on my last night in Nazaré. I will never forgive it. Thanks a lot. You do a great job and coming to this place is worth every single penny.   This is the best place in Nazare and maybe all of Portugal. The owner gave us a glass of port while we waited, another after our meal and then a glass of reserve after that, which we drank together with him.   I’m currently sitting at a fish restaurant in Greece dreaming about the sea bass I had at A Tasquinha 2 years ago. The best fish, and one of the best meals, I’ve ever had. The waiter apologized that my fish would be more expensive (15€) than the menu said (12€) because it was bigger that day! Can’t beat the taste or price.   This place is fabulous! We were fortunate enough to slip into a 3 top without a reservation (truly lucky, as the line trailed long throughout our meal) and the place totally delivered on it's great reputation! My son had the seafood spaghetti - out of this world - and filled with perfectly seasoned clams, shrimp, and mussels. I had the swordfish - the best I've had in my 52 years in earth - and my wife chose the massive cod plate (received our seal of approval and I'm from the Oregon coast, USA). The sangria was filled to the brim with all the trimmings, but no ice (more wine you say? Oh, yeah!) Our one regret? Not ordering a skewer... Not sure where we would have put it, but the look and smell as they passed: incredible! My only issue/comment would be that the prices are far too low; I honestly felt like I was stealing from the restaurant...   Found this place based on the Google reviews. Very happy we walked a block off the tourist street. Dinner was very good. Had the grilled swordfish and Portuguese style steak. Both were very delicious. The owner takes great pride in food. I would say he wants people to be happy in life through food. And takes great pride in your experience at his restaurant.   This was the best restaurant for us in a long trip from Algarve to Nazaré. We had shrimp and squid skewers and after that monkfish rice, as mains. Desert was camel drool :) or "Baba de camelo", an amazing caramel recipe. On top of that service is exceptional and they went overboard to help us with our little girl.   Hello fellow food lovers. I just want to tell you that this restaurant is the best! Me and my gf tried the "grilled squid","bitoque",had also fish and legume soup and it was great. Because we liked it so much we went the next time we went to Nazaré there. The thing is, the restaurants which are near the water are tourists traps so this one is more tucked away and have way cheaper prices.   We ate here two nights in a row due to such a great atmosphere, staff and food-the service was excellent. Our waiter and part owner, Carlos (cannot say enough superlatives about this man), was attentive and friendly and tailored the perfect meal for us after asking a few questions about what we liked and were interested in trying. He fluently speaks at least 3 languages that I heard as he communicated with other tables. He even took some time to enjoy a glass of port wine with us after our meal.   Service and food were 15/10, out of this world! Favourite meal in Portugal so far. This place is packed 100% of the time, for good reason. The owner ran the entire time we were there, fetching free drinks and benches for people waiting outside. When they weren't bussing tables, taking orders and seating people, the owner and his son Miguel along with their staff made the effort to stop by every table to see how everyone was enjoying the food. Comida bastante sem gosto. Eu poderia conseguir a mesma qualidade em um posto de gasolina. As pessoas que administravam o lugar eram muito legais e engraçadas. Estava tão lotado de gente correndo o tempo todo perguntando se tinha mesa livre, não muito aconchegante.

  The welcome is warm, the staff are fluent in many languages and the food is top! Delicious and fresh, don't hesitate to ask for suggestions, especially for desserts. Be sire to book ahead!
