  Went there for an early dinner, with 2 cranky kids. We had 3 starters that were simply delicious! And the staff were super kind and friendly with the kids. We had the shrimps, the tuna pica-pau and the curry "farinheira". They were all really great, and the tuna one was off the charts! I recommend it.   Just arrived in Nazare and we fell into a late snack at Tabernassa. You have to go!! The place was packed! The service was so personal and amazing. Paulo needs a raise 😍 I absolutely love this man. He made us laugh and was so attentive to our dinner. He made our evening. Where else in the world does the person that spends an evening with you serving your meal run after you to say good bye and give you a hug 🤗. The grilled chicken was just delicious, the wine crisp and fresh. Overall, just a memorable evening in Nazare.   We had a lovely lunch here on our last day. I had the salmon, which was really nice and came with mixed veg, which was lovely. My friend had the roasted aubergine and she really enjoyed it.   Very disappointed after going there on recommendations of friends. Ordered a steak that tasted and smelled so bad you could tell it was well pass the sell by date. Service was friendly and polite they removed the steak apologetically and offered me a ribeye steak which was rather small and tough even though it was served medium rare. Will never eat there again.   Tabernassa is a true gem! The ambiance is cozy and refreshing. The reviews speak for itself but this is a MUST if you are visiting Nazare. We enjoyed the shared meat plate with four sides. Come hungry because they make sure you don’t leave hungry! The meat was so tender and beautifully prepared. The service was exceptional. Truly exceptional. Every staff member was welcoming and seemed genuinely honored for us to eat at their restaurant. Paulo is the best! He made us feel like family and he took great pride in Tabernassa. We will be back!   Stopped here for dinner after a day in Nazaré and it was an absolutely lovely time. The food was excellent - my grandfather had the burger and really enjoyed it. I had the tuna pica Pau and loved it. The view from the restaurant is also amazing. We watched the sun set on the terrace - beautiful! Our server, Paulo, really made the experience.   I had the pork loin and orange butter which was amazing, along with a local beer. All good was well presented and they made sure to tell us at the start that the olives and cheese was charged to the bill. So cheap so it was never a issue. Thank you guys!   This restaurant is always full of customers, during peak and non-peak hours. We went there twice in our 5 days stay in Nazare. The food is amazing and the staff are very friendly and speak good English. The service level is excelent. I would highly recommend the Iberico Pork Secretos (Black Pork Belly). It is so amazing that we are considering going back for the 3rd time before leaving Nazare. The Rustic potato (side dish) and Salmon dish are great too.   The food and service here is amazing. So much so we ate here 3 times in one week. There is attention to detail, the food is of a very high standard compared to other restaurants in the area and the staff are helpful and courteous even though they are clearly very busy due to it's popularity.   Just enjoyed a wonderful early dinner here. Wanted meat for a change from all the wonderful fresh fish in Nazare. Chose pork, Secreto Iberico, with sautéed vegetables and crispy potatoes on the side. Ate every single bit and am still going “yum” to myself. The restaurant itself has a nice clean atmosphere and beautiful outlook to the beach. Service was kind and attentive. Prices are extremely reasonable. Going back soon, I think.   With a lot of meat on the menue this restaurant is a little bit different compared to the other more fish bases restaurant's in Nazaré. But I think this is a nice variety and the quality and taste of the food (meat and fish) is pretty good. The restaurant is well located directly on the beach promenade. Service is friendly but could be a little bit more attentive.   Horrible experience. After waiting 40 min at the table with no drinks of any kind, just 2 breads for 4 people and some olives, I decided to ask for a waiter if he could serve the table. In an extremely rude way, he said he is just one person and couldn’t assist more than one table. We did not complaint at all and then, after a few minutes the same person came back with the same attitude saying that since we were on vacation which, by the way, we are were not, we needed to wait and we should not be in a hurry. I understand the place was full and we would have to wait but the waiter attitude was a bit much. I cannot say anything regarding the menu as we decided to leave the place but I would advice to look for another restaurant if the place is with half of its capacity.   We have been to this restaurant 3 times. Uncharacteristic for front line restaurants the food is unique and consistently first class. It is a combination of local food and new flavours prepared in a unique way. Everything we had has has been delicious but my personal favourite is the pork in butter and orange sauce. The tuna, burger and the deep fried stuffed mushrooms are also noteworthy. In my opinion the best restaurant in Nazare. (Traduzido pelo Google) Já estivemos neste restaurante 3 vezes.   THE GOOD: Food was of nice quality. The bruschetta was surprisingly good! Main dish had a very interesting set of flavours but the meat itself though of good quality was pretty regular and brought nothing especially new when compared to other good restaurants specialized in barbecue. Will definitely return to try some other house specials. You should definitely visit this place as the chef is very skilful and will present you with some well balanced flavours. THE NOT-SO-GOOD: One of the waiters could not explain how one of appetizers was made and that put us off that choice. THE BAD: The waiters sanitize the tables using a special spray but they do it so recklessly, next to other customers having no care with the fact the aerosols go into the food and into the customers' mouth. I had a cough seizure with that same situation, after the table next to me was cleaned and the spray came all over my face. Though I fully understand and appreciate the tables are sanitized, in a packed restaurant this must be done with care as breathing and eating these products is toxic. Tive um ataque de tosse nessa mesma situação, depois que a mesa ao meu lado foi limpa e o spray caiu no meu rosto. Embora eu compreenda e aprecie perfeitamente que as mesas sejam higienizadas, em um restaurante lotado isso deve ser feito com cuidado, pois respirar e comer esses produtos é tóxico.

Food was excellent and service was good too (although our server did disappear on us for a while and didn't bring me the last beer I ordered). Ordered it medium but had no pink was actually charred on one side. Ribs were very fatty and was a very small portion. I absolutely hate writing bad reviews but hope they read this and step it up.   Food was ok, actually nothing special and quite basic, but definitely not 4.7 level. I consider it overrated. The place looks much better compared to what’s around it, so compared to those places (which can be awful) this is a good choice, otherwise nothing interesting. Also, they bring this starter on the table which includes the typical pates, olives etc but since they go from one table to another (sometimes unwanted) they look really unfresh and bad, and of course they are chargeable.   Stopped in for a couple drinks and some late afternoon nibbles. Had all the couvert (starters), the cheese board, and the Txistorra. The cheese was all pretty mild and similar, but delicious. The txistorra is a sausage I was not familiar with, but it was delicious. My wife had the house vinho verde and I had bottled Bohemia Original. Great views. Friendly service. Yummy food. Between the four of us, all meals were well seasoned, cooked perfectly, and portion sizes were perfect. Had we tried Tabernassa when we arrived, we would have gone back a second time.   Ordered an aged rib eye and got a sliced up piece of probably rump. It was not in any way tender and basically tasteless. This is the second restaurant I have come across trying to pass terrible cuts for premium. If you see your steak sliced be assued that it's not a premium steak. We were promised a table inside but we were seated outside section and left there eating in the cold. I cannot see how this place has such a high rating.   The staff treated us very poorly, they barely spoke to us and were very arogant. We were refused a table that we wanted (the waiter said that it is for 4 people and we were 2 even though the place was empty when we came) however he gave it to a couple that came right after us. There is a lot of hidden prices - no drink menu (we got wine menu only after we asked for it but prices for water, beer or sodas were nowhere to be found. The waiter gave us appetizers that we did not order and did not tell us we will have to pay for it - we only got to know about it once we saw the bill that we have waited ages for.   We eate here twice, it was exceptional. super friendly service, they really love the customers and to everything for em. on the second visit we reserved with our 8 month old son, they even addes special kids dishes for him and a seat, it was so sweet. but besides the service the meat and steaks are awesome. we were looking for 2 weeks to find something for meat n steaks. we really can (sadly) recommand this place very much. why sadly? if it gets recommanded its may not anymore then a secret place to eat and gets overcrowded ;) anyway thank you for having us, it was a real pleasure!!!   Wow. Hidden gem! Extremely nice waiters treated us and our kids to some delicious food. If you’re sick of seafood then head this way. The Frango Assado (grilled chicken) is less than 8€!! You can’t leave Nazaré without trying this! Succulent salty coal or charcoal chicken with a delicious drizzle of garlicy herby vinegar oil on the side. This must be a new place because I would have expected more 5 star reviews. Both house red and white wines at 3.5€ also delicious. (Traduzido pelo Google) Uau. Jóia escondida!
