  I absolutely love this place. We sat inside by the toilet because the outside was full and it was STILL outstanding! So simple, there's no need even to think, really: just sit down and start working your way through the perfectly grilled fish and seafood until you can't any more.   A simple, innovative concept. A set lunch of small starters (corn/white bread, olives, fishy dip, anchovies), sides of tomato salad, garlicky bread sauce and sweet/new potatoes plus a succession of mixed grilled fish platters until you say no more. Everything delicious and only 15 euros each plus drinks. They don't take reservations so we got there at 12.10 and only a handful of tables were available.   The deliciousness of the food perfectly matches the wonderful atmosphere of this place. Get here early as the tables fill up quickly and no one is in a rush to leave once they sit down. There's no real waiting list, so if you do have to wait keep track of who was there before you and once a table empties go get your spot. If you have an idea of what kinds of fish you want to eat you'll get it much quicker if you just tell them instead of waiting for things to come off the grill because the people who do know will grab up everything they want immediately. After a short walk from the waterfront, we were greeted enthusiastically, sat down, and found one option for lunch: all-you-can-eat fish with plenty of extras. We're not big fish eaters, but we loved this lunch. €15 per person, not including drinks or dessert. Our total came to €37 with a coffee, a dessert, a bottle of juice, and a liter of sparkling water.   Our Airbnb Host recommended this lunch only fish restaurant round the corner to where we were staying, he told us it was famous & well reviewed. It’s open from 12 - 15, we got there a little after 3, we thought we might be too late but the owner said no problem, let me clear this table. We weren’t disappointed, it’s simple set price system, you sit down & fresh fish or squid is served until you can’t eat any more. You’ll get accompaniments, a chopped tomato salad, selections of sweet & new potatoes, a wonderful bread sauce with garlic & coriander, olives, bread, hummus & anchovies all for a set price. They have a drinks menu with wine, beer, soft drinks & spirits all reasonably priced. It was full of locals & tourists. The staff & the owner were attentive & friendly. I didn’t try any of the desserts on offer maybe next time.   Amazing fish! Such a good experience. We came here after visiting the Ria Formosa and had fresh grilled fish from the BBQ and salty and sweet potatoes, tomato salad and a Portuguese bread mush. We were outside next to the grill and everytime our fish plattern was empty, we got a new mix of fish. All was very tasty and it was very interesting to taste the different types of fish.   I was a solo traveler in May 2022 when I found Vai e Volta. I enjoyed my first visit so much that I returned 2 days later. The owner, Jose (if I remember correctly) recognized me and had a table ready for me in minutes. He and his friendly staff kept bringing freshly grilled fish whenever my plate was empty. When it was nearly their closing time at 3 pm, I said that I shouldn't have any more since it was time. Jose told me that it didn't matter. I could keep on eating past 3 pm if I wished. According to the placemat, they serve 10 different kinds of fish, all fresh, never frozen. In addition to the 10 fish listed, they also serve grilled calamari. Aside from the grilled fish, diners also get bread, olive, tomato salad, potato/yam and sardine spread - all included in the reasonable 14 Euro/adult price! These items are typically complimentary at other Portuguese restaurants!! The only extra item I ordered was the house white wine which was light and crisp which paired well with the grilled fish. I will return to the Algarve in February 2023 with my wife. We plan to stay in Faro and take the train to Olhao just to eat at Vai e Volta. Estes itens são normalmente gratuitos em outros restaurantes portugueses!! O único item extra que pedi foi o vinho branco da casa, leve e fresco, que combinava bem com o peixe grelhado. Regressarei ao Algarve em Fevereiro de 2023 com a minha mulher. Pretendemos ficar em Faro e apanhar o comboio para Olhão só para comer no Vai e Volta.   Highly recommended family-run seafood joint Olhao, however, if you are in Tavira or Faro it's worth it to drive there. The experience was amazing. Seafood is as fresh as you can imagine (Olhao's fish market is BIG), you pay a fixed price per person (€14 adults/€7kids) and you get served unlimited grilled seafood. I come from Sicily (Italy) so I should know one or two things about seafood, trust me when I say: you will not regret it. The only issue you will face is finding a table available! Pro tip: it's in the city center of a small town so finding parking might be an issue during peak hours, there are large parking lots along the sea (5-10min away) so I advise you to head there rather than trying your luck right next to the place. They have friendly workers and the man working the grill always had a smile.   I visited this restaurant in April, not a particularly busy period. I was drawn there because of the noisy hub-bub of the diners as I walked past, unlike many other places in April. A note on the door informs you that there is no booking available and no meat served. I asked for a table, only to be told to try in half an hour as they were full (mostly with locals). Usually I would just find another place to eat where there are lots of restaurants around, but I liked the sign on the door and returned to be given a seat at a shared table. After drinks were served, salad and a potato dish arrived, swiftly followed by a freshly barbecued fillet of fish. Having hardly finished the first piece of fish, another variety of fish was spooned onto my plate and it kept on coming, different fish each time until I almost had to beg them to stop.   This place is phenomenal! Great value for money and the staff are lovely! There were several varieties of fish from the grill, coming through every few minutes. Sides included sweet potatoes, boiled potatoes and a tomato salad. We also had olives, bread and a fish paste on the table. Was divine! Make sure to get here before 12 to secure a seat.   The best lunch experience I’ve had on my holiday in Algarve. Make sure that you arrive there on time for the lunch, otherwise you’ll need to queue. The atmosphere of the place is open, friendly.   Easily one of my most favourite dining experiences! Not just in Olhão but in all of Portugal for sure. The premise is simple, pay a set charge, get served unlimited amounts of fresh and delicious fish that’s grilled inches away from you, shout out to the excellent and skilled grill master, you were excellent. The staff is also so accommodating and the food is to die for, you also get unlimited sides which are so so good.   One of the best restaurants we have visited in Portugal (and we been there for over 30 days, traveled pretty much the whole of Portugal). For 10 euro you get unlimited fish (tuna, salmon, sardines and many many more) - the fish is super fresh (barely out of the ocean) and grilled in front of you then they just bring it to your table on the big plate asking which ones you want (you can want everyone :) ) You get unlimited salad and potatoes as well. The fish is so fresh and tasty that it is beyond imagination. The owner and the rest of the stuff are so naturally friendly that you immediately feel at home.
