  Great shrimp soup! Usually they serve fish soup, but that time I went there they had shrimp soup instead. It was fantastic! I had never before eaten a steak with an egg on it and rice as a side dish, but it was good and the portion was quite big. Potato chips is also a side dish that it come with.   I see this place has quite a few reviews and most of them are good…Was recommended by a blogger from NYC to ck this place out. Sad to say it was well over rated. I am from a Portuguese background and know a thing or two about our food culture etc… I am also in the restaurant business on the importing side of food and wine and have an understanding about how a kitchen works. This place was subpar at best (only the ocean views make it that). The service was worse than that. At first It seemed as though they might have had an off night. Once I saw tables getting their main courses before I, the newly seated customers being spoken to about specials that wasn’t mentioned to me, a sign of inconsistency in the business. I realized this place wasn’t having an off night and I had to throw in the towel. Fights over….. terrible experience over all. Never coming back. Wish them luck.   We came to the lunch and unfortunately they were already out of many seafood dishes, I would recommend to come 12-13 for the lunch to still catch good options. My rating for the food is 5*, really good and view directly to the ocean. Also desert was nice, recommend to come even to drink a tea or coffee with such view. They have dishes for 2 which needs pre reservation 1 day before, just in case check the menu in advance. I ate various fish and squid there. Extremely good every time. What I also like: Having a burger after surfing. It was a bit bigger three years ago, but still good.   We had a perfect evening here for drinks, dinner and dessert watching the surf as the sun went down. The food was delicious and the staff were very kind and patient with our limited Portuguese. They let us move tables to better enjoy the exquisite view and, as the evening cooled, brought blankets so that we could continue enjoying our meal and dessert outdoors.   Park on the beaten track and walk 100 metres on to the first structure to your right, on the beach. Get some sand in your shoes and you know you are in the right direction! The young waiters exchange comfortably in Spanish and English. The food here has some added variations to the standard fare in most Portuguese eateries. That said, some of menu tariffs are not inexpensive. However, there are some exceptions such as the Hamburgers that are also designated DOP regional meat. These are reasonably prices and if you are a fries person these are extra. In summer they won't serve sandwiches and grilled toast etc around the lunch hour so prepare to have more than just a snack. I would guess they can oblige with take-out snacks? We opted for octopus salad that was good though above average in cost. We also chose the Camarão Xakra (6 medium sized prawns cut in half). Don't attempt to do this slicing at home without a sharp knife! Again, price of these were above the average out there. Dipping the bread in the remains of the crustacean sauce is recommended to add the calories. Overall, for a beach bar they have a winning formula as the view and service invite the punters.   I am wasn't stunned by this place, location is good and they have fresh sea food, but portions are not so big and prices are very high if you compared with the other restaurants in Peniche. Stuff are very nice and affordable, they will help you to choose best meal. However meals have too much bread crumbs for my taste, but they are tasty. The chicken steak we ordered was 3mm thin and more like a piece of leather. Definitely not to recommend.   Came here for their Sapateira and they had run out of them since they were closing for a week long break. This place has good cheap eats for surfers on the beach as well as fresh seafood and fish. They do a great job at cooking it too. The place can have quite a pungent smell coming from the Port nearby. I'll be back.   Lovely setting, great service, fantastic sunset and food is very good, but not cheap. Came here because of the reviews - you need to walk across the sand from the bridge or up an unlit path from the car park, so better if you do it when it is light! Very nicely laid out with inside and out. I got 500g fish plus a couple of glasses of house wine bill came to just under €35 Came here again with my wife in Sept. 2021 and she said it was the best in Peniche. Again in Sept.2022solo and have decided it’s the place to be for a sunset meal….as good as ever…43€ for tuna pate starter + cod main course and a bottle of white wine…wonderful!! Back in 2023 as a couple and had to finish before 6.30pm as it es fully booked (Sunday). We had Cuttlefish to start and then Cod plus salad and a bottle of house white wine. They were as excellent as expected and the service still great. Total came to just over €100, so not cheap, but excellent.   Great beach bar. What I like about it is that you can have simpler beach food - such as tapas, salads, etc. - but you can also have a proper meal with a few good options to choose from. They have some typical Portuguese dishes as well as fresh fish to grill. Which is amazing. The service is good, the waiters are nice.   We loved the place, it seemed that the whole staff (including kitchen) really enjoyed their job. The service was awesome, waiters knew the menu to the smallest detail, were extremely nice and offered helpful tips. And the food? It was the best meal we had in two weeks that we stayed in Portugal. The tuna steak was perfectly balanced - not too raw, but also not too well-done. And the shrimp risoto...we actually fought who is going to eat it in the end. Also, get some of the deserts. Finally, we found the price very reasonable for the quality of food and service. I would go there again anytime.
