  We loved eating here so much that we came back several times. We had chicken wings, 1/2 chicken, octopus salad, garlic bread and all were great. The waiters were very attentive and nice.   Walked by and the smell got us inside. Great service and atmosphere! The food was very good. I had steak and it was excellent, my wife got pork ribs and they were super tough. Coming from the US I guess we always expect pork ribs to be smoked and well seasoned, here the raw ribs go right to a hot grill. Hey its part of exploring other food cultures.   Discovering this gem not far from central Ponta Delgada was a delight. There's really nothing to complain about, except that the portions are so generous it's a struggle to get up from the table.   Eat here. Our meal was amazing (mixed grill for 2, big salad & bread basket). Service was super attentive, food was delicious and price was reasonable. Forget the other reviews and eat here. Best meal we’ve had on the island. Please keep in mind that this is a GRILL. Order something from the grill! The ribs are freshly grilled and served with a small side of sauce. They are NOT fall off the bone BBQ ribs. They are chewy, slightly charred ribs from the grill. Order meat on the rare side of medium-rare. The chicken was great.   We enjoyed a wonderful red wine (20 EU), grilled chicken, sirloin steak, chicken-tomato-cheese, and grilled sirloin. All our meal items were freshly prepared and delicious. Only negative was that the grilled steak ordered medium-rare was cold rate in the middle, and difficult to eat. Staff welcomed us in without a reservation at a business time of night (Wed at 7:45 pm).   This place looks good from the outside but the food came out cold. How does a steak cone out cold? Very disappointing. We ended up returning it & they brought out another tray of meats and it was still cold... almost as if it was refrigerated & then served. We also ordered a well done steak that came out raw. Definitley not worth it for the price. The service was also poor. We asked for additional bbq sauce that our server kept forgetting to bring to our table. The final time we asked for it, he removed a bbq sauce (already open) from a near by table and placed it on our table not knowing if the previous table had already eaten from it.   The place was nice. We ordered hot wings for starters that arrived after 20 minutes but they were very good. We waited the main courses for other 30 minutes and after asking the waiter they arrived but unfortunately the meat was cold. Maybe they forgot to serve them when they were ready.   We tried this after trying to go to another restaurant which was booked for the night and was pleasantly surprised!! Food was excellent and fresh. Service was very attentive.   I have eaten here before and the food was sooo good. This time around the food was tasteless. I had Beef with fries and my family had 1/2 a chicken and fries. They literally brought us out 2 small platers of fries to share between 4 people and the beef and the chicken had no flavor. If you want bread you must purchase a basket for $2 euros when before they gave complementary bread, the service was very slow, they were very busy so I did understand that.   We just wandered in off the street because it was pouring rain and were lucky to get a table as it was quite busy. I’m not sure why the reviews are what they are because the food was really good. We had a red bean & sweet potato soup to start, we share it, it was very flavourful. We had the BBQ chicken with fries and it was a generous portion, very tasty and they also gave us a complementary rice dish. I couldn’t finish my chicken to my husbands delight but I did have room for strawberry cheesecake, thankfully we decided to share one piece because it was huge. It was very light, unlike our Canadian cheesecake made with cream cheese. We also each had a local beer which we enjoyed. The entire bill was €34, great price for all of the food we had. I predict we will return before leaving the island. Now I really want to try the ribs!   Probably one of the most deliciously well prep’d garlic bread around town :) cheese board was a nice way to get introduced to local products. However, after entries, food missed inspiration and quality of delivery. Meat was dry on medium term, all side dishes served cold and little attention was given to our table throughout the meal.   Do not recommend this place. Overpriced. There are far better places in the area. Ordered sirloin steak medium well. One side was burnt the other side was raw.   I’m leaving this review because hopefully the owner or the management can address this. I know normally bad reviews get more attention but I’m not here to try and bring the business down. I let a waiter know that my partner is pregnant. He said we still had to wait in a line. The wait time was over an hour. I replied every place in Portugal gives priority to pregnant women and people with disabilities, this is the only place that does not. He replied there’s children waiting in line too. I left and took my business somewhere else. I went to a restaurant up the road that I won’t name. There was about 30 people waiting. I approached the host and let him know my partner was pregnant and without hesitation he said “Yes, you have priority, step right in”. I would just like for this establishment to follow the standard in Porto Delgado. I’m not sure if it’s a law or not but it’s just the right thing to do. I could’ve been a jerk and given this place 1 star like most people do but since I didn’t even eat here that wouldn’t be right. I know people leave reviews in their feelings but this is more like an ethical thing.   By far the worst restaurant we did in more than 15 days in the Azores : - no organization between room and kitchen. More than 45 minutes to wait between appetizer and meal. - cheese appetizer come without bread (the only restaurant of my life that didn’t bring 2 slice of bread with a cheese board!) so you need to ask for an extra basket of bread. - pork ribs were only bones and nothing else. Maximum 100gr of meat for 500gr of bones. And this is for 14€. - half of the sweet on the menu do not have a price. You need to ask for it and they give you the price. What’s the point ? Just write down the price and if I want to take the more expensive then I do it knowingly. - wine were ok but beer was forgot. Cut it short, the worst restaurant we did in 15 days and on 5 out 9 islands of the Azores.   Worst experience I have ever had in my life, we waited 10 minutes to get the menu card and then an additional 40 minutes for the servant to take our order. The table behind us didn't even get the menu cards for 30 minutes and also had to seek out the servants to get it. The food delivery time was the same experience, we waited 1 hour to get our food which easily could have been made in 30 min as a max. Additionally there wasn't enough food to make you full.   We had an incredible experience. Highly recommended if you are visiting. The service was impeccable. Our waiter was a young lady and typically in the US, your waitress could be anywhere. In the back on her phone, talking to the bar tender, but she was incredibly attentive and I cannot stress this enough. I don’t remember her name unfortunately. We got a plate of grilled meats and everything was really good EXCEPT the ribs. The ribs were tough because you have to cook ribs slowly to get them to be tender instead of a quick grill.   Beware this place is a expensive tourist trap! The staff was friendly at first and the garlic bread and cheese were the only edible dish we had. The steaks were very poor quality meat, and most likely not fresh meat. The fries were baked and not fried, and dumped on the plate that was filled with sauce. Prior to to ordering I made it clear that I want my steak medium rare, they got it right but no sear. So the steaks were pale grey.   I am surprised by the negative comments here on Google, as we had an absolutely amazing evening in this restaurant. The food was delicious (local beef steak with home-made fries, the second meal grilled octopus), the service was absolutely amazing, one of the best I've ever experienced. I cannot tell how it works outside of the tourist seasons, but maybe something recently changed (the owner, tha manager, hard to tell), I just know we're definitely coming back before we're leaving Sao Miguel.   Best restaurant in Azores. Full of gluten-free options on the menu. Staff are extremely kind and speak proper English. The food is local and great quality. Rations are large and value is unbeatable. Delicious and family friendly. Highly recommended, and I stress highly because plenty of mediocre recommendations can be found in sites like Tripadvisor, etc. But oddly enough, no one seemed to mention this great restaurant right in the centre of Ponta Delgada.   Looking at the menu we hoped for good things, as the prices were on the more expensive side, but sadly no. Service wasn't fast, and wasn't particularly friendly. The food was bland and overcooked (Our food ranged from Steak to chicken to Seafood) , and they served these 'Chips' which were really soggy crisps with the side of the meals. It looked like a nice set up, but when the 5th glass was broken and the 100th chair was noisily moved around, you, you kind of got the sense that they were just playing at it.   Really surprised by the low ratings here-i found it to be a very pleasant room for lunch, with friendly, courteous, and prompt service, and a supremely delicious menu offering. OK so I had the half chicken and fried potatoes but it was well prepared, ample portioned, and relatively inexpensive.
