  Restaurant with a nice view over the sea. Food was good. However we took octopus for a starter and then seafood pasta. They tasted so similar that actually we were overwhelmed with it. It was not the best seafood pasta. Souse could be better. Next time I would order meat. Fish with banana was good, I recommend it. Portions are very big but the place is expensive.   I recently had a very disappointing experience here. Upon arrival, we requested a table inside, but were informed that none were available. When we opted to dine outside instead, we were surprisingly told that service was not available there either. What added to our frustration was seeing another couple who arrived after us get seated and served outside without any issue. This left us feeling unfairly treated and questioning the restaurant's customer service policies. It's unfortunate that we had this experience and we hope the restaurant addresses such inconsistencies in the future.   We discovered this restaurant randomly as we did our sightseeing nearby, but it’s such a gem! The food was absolutely AMAZING. Everything was fresh. The pasta was great and the sea bass had a very soft and fresh texture. Even though it was a far drive from Funchal, it was all worth it.   An excellent restaurant for an early dinner before the sunset at Ponta do Pargo. The food is exceptional, the view is great, the service was also top-notch - the waiter so friendly, talkative and helpful. I had the octopus that was very tender, 10/10, and sea bass - also great! The quality of food is great for the price, and the views make it worth it 100%. The chat with the waiter was also great - very enjoyable and if you're driving to Ponta do Pargo - this is a perfect stop at any time of the day as they also do breakfast here.   Beautiful restaurant in quite area with friendly stuff. Not too popular because of the location probably but there is delicious food and deserts (passion fruit mousse and mango cheesecake). His proposal for black pork lagartos was great as the meat was on point grilled and still juicy! The price with a drink for around ~20€ was fair. The waiting period for the food was short but I need to mention that it was rather calm with only 2x other tables. At least in my case I had a good experience and can recommend this restaurant!   I would strongly not recommend the place. I got shrimps that were not cleaned from the intestine (see picture) I found out too late about that. You can get parasites from that.   Drove 1hr from Funchal for dinner and to watch the sunset. The food was good but our experience was ruined when the waiter, very politely, asked us to please vacate the table because it had been reserved. We were just done with our meal and were drinking some coffee and enjoying the view, big disappointment. They could have informed us beforehand that the table was “reserved” and we would have taken the table next to ours, which was empty when we arrived. First time in Europe that they ask me to vacate a table before finishing eating as we were still drinking our coffee when asked to leave.   What a great place! Not just great food, but also an amazing view, if you can get a table overlooking the ocean. We ordered prawns and octopus as starters, which were both very good (prawns slighlty more). Main courses were tuna fish and the local madeiran black fish with banana.   We have only been here once, and am already looking forward to our next visit. Everything we had was delicious and wholesome. There's a nice selection of wine too. This place is a must visit if you are on this side of the island, the view is stunning, specially at sunset. Prices are definitely above average for the island though. The portions are more than generous, the side dish salad has avocado (!!!) and the fries are normal, not the frozen ones.   Had an amazing meal with my family in September. This restaurant is usually very busy so best to book your table in advance as they have fewer tables due to covid. We ordered some starters including lapas and bolo do caco, both of which were delicious. For the main, I decided to go with their daily special, Lamb Shank. It was absolutely delicious, could not fault it one bit. The mashed potatoes were silky smooth, the meat slid off the bone, and there was plenty of gravy. They also have an extensive wine selection available displayed in a see-through cooler with the prices which I found was a lovely touch to the restaurant. The salad came with a lovely mustard vinaigrette that had me repeating the salad despite the fact that I don't really enjoy mustard.   A fantastic, top-notch restaurant in the middle of a seemingly quiet village. The restaurant and it's welcoming atmosphere comes with a lovely view towards the sea. The staff is super professional, everyone speaks fluent English and is friendly to the bone. Our main dishes were sea bass and vegan pasta, and no fault could be found in either. The final bill - with coffees, wines, desserts and all that stuff - amounted to less than 50 euros, so the prices there are very reasonable, too. We popped in around half past five after hiking the Pedregal - Ponta do Pargo levada during the day, and were politely instructed to sit down and order a drink, as they told us the kitchen didn't open before six. The chef came in ahead of time, though, and we placed our orders quite quickly after being seated. All in all a very pleasant experience, the best bit being the waiting staff. Worth mentioning are also the clean facilities all around - the toilets, for example, were fancy and markably spotless. A very warm recommendation if you're anywhere near the area!   So far we had our most memorable meal in Madeira at O Farolim. Even though the place was pretty busy (lots of locals, which I always take as a good sign), we had the luck of getting to eat at the restaurant's terrace, which has a panoramic view for the ocean - extremely peaceful and very beautiful. As a vegan it is pretty hard to find vegan options in Madeira, let alone super delicious vegan options, which I happily found at O Farolim with a super yummy vegan risotto.   Best steak since a long time. The meat was perfectly grilled and very soft. Also the fish was very good and the prices are quite affordable.   Excellent restaurant. In the calm village of Ponta do Pargo, far from hordes of tourists, you can find this exquisite restaurant with it's various dishes. We had the octopus rice (served for 2) with a generous quantity. You are sure to not leave the place hungry. The staff was very kind and advices us well about Madeiran wine. There's also vegetarian dishes, which looked delicious at our neighbors table. The tiramisu in desert was also a treat. Prices are more than correct, it depends on what you have but to give an idea, a delicious Madeiran fish speciality counts for about 9-10 euros. I highly recommend it.
