  Infelizmente, o risoto que pedimos não era tradicionalmente italiano e muito salgado. Talvez um bife fizesse mais sentido. No entanto, não podemos mais julgar isso.   Restaurante recomendado com um excelente ambiente. Você definitivamente deveria experimentar o “Tuna Tataki”. O pão couvert foi servido quente e barrado com manteiga de ervas - muito saboroso. O pagamento com cartão é possível. Tudo bem!

  This place was great! My wife and I went there and shared the Tomahawk for 2 along with 3 sides. Ate everything. We don’t eat a lot of red meat so when we do it better be good. And this surpassed expectations. It’s quality food and well prepared. So good we went back 2 nights later to try the burger, and it did not disappoint.   Stopped here on our first night for a bite to eat, we both chose the Mushroom Risotto and a traditional Madeira garlic bread to accompany our meal. Well all would be great if that would actually be clear and written somwhere. Neverthless food was great - recommend the pork cheeks and great starters (from the neighbouring place)😉. If you are close - do have a stop and snack/lunch as the town is charming.   I highly recommend you eat here more than once if you can. The Veal Liver starter is an absolute must!! I've had liver in several other countries across the world, but this was quite simply the best!! The Mushroom Risotto as a main was also very, very good. The mushrooms were large and tasty, the risotto was cooked perfectly. For dessert, the Creme Brulé was another hit. Nothing was amiss. On the 2nd visit, the Veal was up to its very high standards yet again. I decided to go with the Tuna Tataki based on the reviews and was definitely not disappointed. A lovely fresh & meaty piece of fish beautifully prepared. For dessert, I decided to go with the Grilled Pineapple. Again, cooked to perfection and so full of taste. I can quite honestly say that you get great value for money at this restaurant. The wine selection is very good too. The waiters are friendly and knowledgeable which is helpful if you're struggling to decide what to have. If I find myself in Ponta do Sol again I will definitely be sitting at their table again.   Tastu food. The squis and octopus were superbe. I eat octupus frequently and this one was very nicely done. I normally eat it Galician style. Quite different. The one in Steak & Sun was light grilled, keeping a wonderful flavour and perfect texture. The waiters were very kind and attentive, they explained quite well the difference between Portuguese wines so that we could make a choice. They accommodated starters without a problem, as I don't do dairy. Butter was replaced by olive oil with balsamic vinaget. The lace was almost full.   First off, a full five stars is super rare. But! This comes extremely close. The tournedos (medium cooked) was absolutely perfect, the little garnish there was, complimented the meat very well. My wife had the porkfingers which also were super tasty. We had a poncha (a couple really...) afterwards and these were smooth tasting. (Likely proper rum added instead of the cheaper aguargento you usually get) 4.5 stars from me as there should always be something to be done better, we haven't found it tho.. Service was a little slow but the food was worth the wait. The burgers were juicy and delicious. We would eat here again. Acho que podemos dizer que esta é a carne mais deliciosamente preparada que comemos nos últimos anos. Comemos uma picanha e um tournedos. De sobremesa pedimos abacaxi grelhado e rato de chocolate.   This is a food for your soul not only stomach 😅 I really recomment to try Tuna Tataki, so delicious and unique, we traveled around the island and went to a dozen of restaurants but i didn't see something similar anywhere.   The prices are for Madeira quite high, but wow was it worth it! We've been here twice. First time we came for dinner, we arrived early (18:30) and there was plenty of space but once dinner time came around an hour later every table was either reserved or taken so beware of this. We had a delicious meal and really liked the atmosphere: a narrow street with different terraces going up. The following day we came back for a drink with some bites. A very relaxed place, we had a bottle of wine that comes with a complimentary plate of local cheese and meats. We played some cards, the staff was very friendly, made jokes and made us feel extremely welcome. So to summarize: friendly staff, amazing location with a relaxed atmosphere and the best food we have had in Madeira.   Fantastic place to eat. My partner and I went twice during our four day stay, and couldn’t find a better restaurant on the island. The signature steaks were the best option we had. All the starters we tried were fab. And both the mouse deserts were great and obviously homemade. The only downside was that on our second visit there was a mixup with the meals we ordered and another tables but the dishes we got were still excellent.   Sad to say it's not as good as I remember from a few months ago. In October, I had a seared tuna dish that was awesome, super good, one of the best I've had. I went back on Friday to have it again, and unfortunately it wasn't good at all. Fish was not tender, and tasted like it wasn't very fresh. Hopefully I just caught them on an off-night.   Fui aqui para jantar e tive sorte de conseguir uma mesa. Como entrada tivemos uma tradicional Alheira uma espécie de croquete e super saborosa. Também tivemos o RibEy e um Rumb Cap/Picanha. Os suplementos devem ser encomendados separadamente. Tudo foi muito bom e o serviço foi simpático e atencioso.

  I don’t usually let comments but I have to say that Steak and Sun is by far the best restaurant on the island. We had 3 times diners and all the food was great.   Wonderful restaurant with excellent food! This restaurant is really nice and cozy. It doesn't have too many tables inside but that makes it even more special. The service was quick and very friendly. I was not sure when it came to choosing my meal and the waiter helped me very well.   If you like simple cooked but full flavoured steak this is the restaurant for you. The Black Angus I've tried on several occasions has always been lean and cooked to medium well liking. The restaurant inside isn't huge but is comfortable and has a modern interior, the service is always good but can be a bit slower at busier times. There is also outside seating but it's a popular pedestrianised area and lacking light in the evening so choose wisely. Overall very good food at reasonable prices.   My experience was really very disappointing. As the owner of the restaurant in New York, my personnel and me, we always pay same attention to every of our guests as the experience of every person is important for us.   We came here in the hope to get amazing steaks. Given the reviews and the photos, our expectations were quite high! Unfortunately, none of them were met. We waited over an hour to get our food (probably 1h10) even though the restaurant was far from full. Actually, the inside space was almost empty and the outside space was half empty. There were 3 waiters but it was almost impossible to get their attention. They looked almost annoyed when we were calling them. When we had finished our first drink, waiting for the food to arrive, there was around 30 minutes without anyone noticing us and caring to bring the glass of wine we had initially ordered. Then, let’s talk about the food. I ordered a Black Angus steak - cooked medium rare. You’ll understand my disappointment when it arrived well done on my plate. Also, the meat wasn’t particularly tender. Many pieces included some fat, which isn’t something usual on a black angus cut. Even after our complaints and honest feedback at the end of the night, we didn’t get an apology from the chef of any complimentary coffee or hard liquor, which is usually what restaurants do to save the day. That would have made me rate 2 or 3 stars maybe. Only positive point: the fries and the garlic mayonnaise were quite good!   Great food but annoyingly disappointing customer experience. I have been coming to steak and sun for a while now, because the food there is really great but I'm growing extremely annoyed with the service. I don't know if it's an understaffing problem or just bad customer treatment but you literally have to fight to get the waiter to come to your table every single time. Some days one of the waiters will be in a bad mood and barely explain to you the meal of the day. Also, seeing a local group arrive after you and get served before you has seemed to occur a few times. As much as I love the food there I think I'll stop coming, because this is not how I wanna be treated as a customer.   I have been living in Madeira for the last 20 years. This is the best restaurant I been too. The food is just absolutely amazing. I think we have tried everything on their menu and it all tastes absolutely delicious and is superbly presented. Their wine selection is also great.   Overhyped and overrated. One star cause I could not give zero! Slow inattentive service. They messed up a perfectly good tomahawk, worst steak ever, it was charred and so tough. The desserts were also terrible, a cold almost frozen apple pie and a chocolate mousse made from chocolate powder and that wasn’t even set. Also Worst ‘garlic bread’ we had the misfortune of ordering in Madeira. Way better places to eat in Ponta do Sol. And which restaurant has no ketchup?!!   First of all, I liked the limited menu. I find the idea of having a small number of options to choose from, to be appeling. The Sirloin steak was good and medium like I ordered it, the sweet potato fries were crispy and the sauces on the side were tasty. I enjoyed the dish and the wine with it. I found the price was reasonable too. Then again, I'm not an overly critical food geek. Looking at the prices, this isn't the place to serve one of their kind either. Or maybe it is.
