  We were here on a Friday evening. The chef offered to chose dishes for us. The food he chose for us was amazing. This was an experience I will never forget.   There are some restaurants that are beyond words and Nirian's United Kitchen is one of them. This is far more than a place to just eat; it is an experience that changes your perception of Indian food. It is on the expensive side, although with our experience, it was worth every penny. We even had a bottle of sparkling wine from the house to celebrate our Birthdays. This was a lovely touch. We would highly recommend this place. We had a number of house chosen starters, the cauliflower and spinach being particularly special. Then, a main course shaped around our chosen meat and heat. The care from the team was excellent.   We went there last week upon recommendations from one of our group who'd been before. Wow, I have never had as delicious Indian cuisine as this. The chef came to our table, explained the menu and asked if we could let him choose our food for us. I'm glad we did. The starters where fantastic. I never thought Cauliflower could taste this delicious. Where I live, there are a lot of authentic Indian/Pakistani/Kashmiri restaurant so, I am used to good Indian food but this was on another level. I highly recommend this place.   We visited this place for a meal this evening, and I am blown away by it… the flavours were absolutely mouth watering, staff are friendly and very knowledgeable on the different foods they have on offer as some of it I hadn’t heard of before, and the owner cannot give you enough of her time! Large array of vegetarian options available too which is amazing for my partner who doesn’t eat meat… If you’re searching for authentic Indian cuisine that isn’t your run of the mill curry house, then this has to be your go to!   What a treasure of a restaurant - shame we found it only on our last day! The owner is full of life and incredibly helpful which is also mirrored in all that work for her. The food was to die for. She was accommodating in finding the right dishes for us and very flexible to make things off the menu. If you are in Vilamoura you would be foolish to miss out of this place!   best indian food i’ve ever tried! we are lucky to live just 5 mins away so we eat in/get take away quite often. dining in is a pleasure as you’re always greeted warmly by staff and owner. they have a small fish tank and some coloring books and pencils at the front that’s nice for entertaining young children. you are welcomed first with a small drink of mango lassi (yum) then they’re happy to go over the menu with you and make suggestions based on your flavor/spice preferences. everything we’ve tried here is so good and each dish has such a unique and distinct flavor. they also have a great selection for vegan/vegetarians so we always bring guests with dietary restrictions here. our favorites include: appetizers - crackling greens, gobi manchurian (spicy) vegan/vegetarian main - dal makhani (rich, smoky lentil) other mains - andhra fish curry, murgh tikka masala (chicken), gosht roganjosh (lamb) other - pulao rice, caraway naan the last time we were dining in we tried to order the malai kofta for our kids after a staff member assured us that it wasn’t spicy but it does actually have a hint of heat and when the owner noticed our kids weren’t eating it she brought over some grilled chicken for them and took the malai kofta off our bill. this was all done without one word of complaint from us. their attention to detail and desire to make every customer happy is commendable! absolutely recommend!!   Delightful food and delightful people- I think this is the best way to describe this place! Family run place and super friendly staff. Some of the best curries we have had in a very long time.   Came here based solely on the great reviews - and it quickly became clear why they receive such consistently good reviews. As soon as I was seated, I put my laptop bag on the ground next to me (no problem for me), one of the waiters noticed - instantly came over, picked up my bag, and placed it on a special mini table next to me, just so it wouldn't be on the ground. Service was very attentive - even had the chef walk over, to help me choose a very specific meal option. As requested, my dishes were low in fat (not a fan of oily food - they made it just the way I liked it, healthy, delicious, and not at all oily (common in many Indian dishes)). Price was fantastic. My first visit - of many to come this winter. Thank you for the great service, and food. We were charged 86.92 euros, and the explanation was that the menu on the website is out of date. The pepper prawn starter was 25 euros for 2 prawns, and they weren't great. Otherwise a v tasty meal, and almost as good as last time when we ate in. But beware the prices on the website menu as they appear to have gone up by about 40 percent. Staggering! And then we found this Restaurant, with great tendency towards south Indian food and is as authentic as it can be. The food is delicious, with good portion and the chef came to check on us. After ordering, the head chef came out to introduce himself and recommend a few alternative dishes. He introduced our family to new dishes we had never tried and we loved every one of them.   Had an incredible experience here for dinner. Had looked at the huge number of 5 star reviews on Google and Tripadvisor and was honestly a bit skeptical, thought it was almost too good to be true, how wrong I was! The waiters were polite, attentive and efficient, treating you like royalty, and the head chef who came out to greet us was fascinating. He offered to let us experience what he considered to be a good representation of 'proper' Indian food and create us a meal off menu, and we were glad we did as it was honestly the most delicious and most interesting Indian food experience we have had. All the food was amazing and the explanations that came with each course really helped to appreciate the meal. The chef gave us a look round the restaurant's outside and upstairs and honestly felt like we had known him for years. Be warned, if you are expecting a tikka masala or a korma, or in fact anything you may have had before, this won't be for you.   This is an omg experience - the starters were amazing - crispy spinach, caulk flower florets and samosa followed by a beef curry, chicken curry, spinach and potato side dish, taka Dahl and paloa rice. Dessert was mango and spistachio kulfi - so whilst it was lot of food, we order extra to take home for the next day as indian food is always fabulous the next day.   I used to work for an international airline and have visited India many times in a 30+ year career. This restaurant is as good as any you would find anywhere in India… the food was authentic, delicious and brilliantly prepared but what made our experience so enjoyable was the service and welcome we received from Mrudula and her staff.   Life is about experiences, and this dinner was truly a great one. It was my kids' first real Indian food experience, and they aren't adventurous eaters.....yet. From the outset they were captivated by the attention from the owner who recommended all of our dishes. It was the best service we've had in some time. My kids loved everything including the cauliflower which they never eat, and they enjoyed various curries. It was a one-of-a-kind evening.   This place blew me away! By far one of the best restaurants i've eaten at in the Algarve (I’ve been living here for 3 years), and DEFINITELY the best Indian food I’ve had outside of India.   We came here for Masala Dosas. They were good, not great. We have had the best as Saravana Bhavan, world known for the best dosa. I would rate United Kit's dosas a 5 out 10 where Saravana's are 10. We would have been back again but found Nataraj which is amazing...but no dosas. Not sure you are actually getting bottled water b/c it's not sealed like other restaurants.   The BEST Indian food we have ever had. My partner has been to India & we have tried many Indian restaurants in the uk & in other places we have been abroad. We were a bit dubious about the menu with it not being your generic Indian restaurant menu but we were left blown away. Staff were 5* in reccomending curry's, keeping drinks topped up.   There are very few Indian restaurants outside of India that I am impressed with and boy, was United Kitchens of India impressive! To be honest, I never expected to find good Indian cuisine in Algarve. The restaurant’s sincerity towards regional cuisines of India is a breath of fresh air in a landscape dominated by only Punjabi cuisine. The restaurant’s owner, the charming Mr. Narayan Rao, brings the quality of service to whole another level. When our group of friends arrived at the restaurant, we were warmly welcomed by Mr. Rao - who also stopped at every table for a friendly (and educational) chat. We were given the options of either ordering from the menu or requesting for anything that we felt like eating or leaving it entirely up to Mr. Rao. We chose the third (duh!) and what followed was the best Indian meal I have ever had in a restaurant outside of India. Dishes presented to us were local to the regions that each of us in the group was from and the flavours took us back to childhood. Overall, the highlight of a week-long reunion of friends after a long 20 years.   I went here the other day and the food was not the greatest, however the service was quiet bad. We didn’t get what we asked for, instead the waiter was a little cocky and assumed we’d like everything he suggests, which wasn’t the case. Whatever we asked for we were told wasn’t authentic, however it’s what we asked for which was odd. I also asked for popadums (to buy) and I was told twice it comes with mains, however it still didn’t come with mains.   On holiday in Portugal from the UK. Friend recommended this place. Very glad they did as I’m a massive curry fan, and it was excellent. Really authentic Indian food. Not the standard menu from a normal UK Indian restaurant, but much better. Even our very fussy kids enjoyed it. And the staff were ace. Very friendly and helped us choose exactly the right dishes for us. If you like real curry, and you come to Vilamoura but don’t go, you are missing out. Worth every star.   One of the best Indian meals I've ever had. The chef came out to greet us and offered to put together a menu based on our tastes and preferences so that we could try different dishes. Everything was outstanding. To top it off, chef told us he was doing a cooking workshop the next day. We attended and learned so much! You've gotta visit this place.   We made a reservation at this lovely restaurant this evening for my mother in law’s 80th Birthday dinner and the service, food and hospitality was superb. The chef his lovely wife and all of the staff were so very accommodating and the food , OMG the food was outstanding. As a Indian family it was refreshing to taste true authentic layers of flavour.   Visited United kitchens of India a month ago. The serving was OK rather simple. Staff have basic skills in handling the table service, puring the wine and so on. I do have a problem with the personel not respecting the moment of enjoying a bottle of wine, so no wine pourer or filter. Food was good, typical indian spices, good flavours. I also went several times to enjoy some moments at the pool & the pool bar but the pool wasn’t clean all the time. The pool bar is having limited choices. The outdoor back toilet/shower it’s shame for the place! As well as the upper floor of the outdoor toilet. Dear managment, you have a beautifull settlement there and I think with a 1000€ investment you can renovate that backyard shaddy smelly ugly toilet. Also the outside serving tables look cheap comparing with other places in Vilamoura and I think with one evening revenue you can solve the issue. I know for sure that the pool is a shared responsability with the condominium but you can do an effort to renovate the toilet and parts of the pool. Overall I spend a good evening dinner at the restaurant. Just some things to get improved. A bit pricey in my opinion, but hey, it’s Vilamoura. Caro gerente, você tem um lindo assentamento lá e acho que com um investimento de 1000 € você pode reformar aquele banheiro feio e fedorento do quintal. Além disso, as mesas externas parecem baratas em comparação com outros lugares em Vilamoura e acho que com uma receita noturna você pode resolver o problema. Tenho a certeza que a piscina é uma responsabilidade partilhada com o condomínio mas pode fazer um esforço para renovar a sanita e partes da piscina. No geral, passo um bom jantar no restaurante. Apenas algumas coisas para melhorar. Um pouco caro na minha opinião, mas olha, é Vilamoura.

  You have to be careful with this food. I absolutely do not recommend this restaurant. I stayed sick for several days. One of the customers had the car which blocked in front of the restaurant. Someone honked to ask for free passage, the customer came out of the restaurant and started insulting and the people at the restaurant also started insulting the neighbor.   Me and my friends had dinner in this amazing Indian restaurant, me as non spicy food eater was skeptical at first, but probably because I have never eaten real Indian food. The food in this restaurant was soooo amazing and delicious, the chefs wife was just amazing and giving us loads of options with our food choices. Both the chef and wife are so amazing and welcoming, Ill be definitely coming back there to eat every time I visit my friends there.   Well having read the reviews and being Indian food nuts we couldn't wait to try this restaurant. Owner/Chef meet us on arrival and said this was an authentic Indian restaurant and not what we where used to at home (like he knew) and he would cook anything and any temperature food we would like. Sound great, ordered and the starters came out quick enough. Result was not bad and was looking forward to the mains. This is where it went to pot, 45 mins later and our starter plates are still in front of us and we had to ask for them to be cleared. New plates arrived shortly afterwards and then the food which was delivered by someone who didn't know what food he was taking from the kitchen after a brief discussion with a college he put the correct dishes down then disappeard I then had to get up and get new cutlery for the table. So finally we get to taste and the result was shockingly bad these dishes where not cooked in house but rather defrosted and heated in a microwave, which they couldn't even get right and they came out cold sitting in defrosted water. Então finalmente chegamos ao sabor e o resultado foi chocantemente ruim, esses pratos não eram cozidos em casa, mas sim descongelados e aquecidos no micro-ondas, que eles nem conseguiam acertar e saíam frios sentados em água descongelada.   Wow wow wow, this was by far the best food and service we have had! Simple dishes of fried spinach and cauliflower but with exquisite flavours are a must! Chiv was particularly attentive, he was helpful in recommending which dishes and spice levels each person would enjoy personally. I really enjoyed learning the story behind the dishes and learning the health benefits. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough, we will be returning time and time again!   This was the new Almancil restaurant. Truly one of the best meals we've ever eaten and by far the best Indian we ever had.   Who would’ve thought: One of the best Indian restaurants we’ve ever eaten at, located in a small resort town in Southern Portugal. So good, that we went there for five days straight. Great service, great food (don’t mind the slow presenting of the bill - or is this a Portuguese thing?). Would definitely recommend to anyone! The service is another level, the waitress /manager served each individual , recommending dishes to their liking (spice, flavours) I had a bbq lamb which was not on the menu (unbelievably perfect!) Good list of wines and beers. Food for kids on the menu too. Would happily of eaten here again during our stay, but opted to try other places - based on the 5 places we did eat at, this was #1!   Just had a delicious meal at this Indian Restaurant. It really is a hidden gem and so glad we discovered it. The Chef and staff are so attentive and welcoming. Our dishes were recommended to us after some discussion re our tastes and I have to say the food was spot on. You will not be disappointed, give this restaurant a try and you will keep returning. There's also a swimming pool in the grounds, just perfect!   I'm from the UK, and as other Brits know, it's hard to find a good curry outside of the UK. This however was just fab! I went for the Lamb chettinad and it was deliciously hot. Pilau was spot on. Naans were a little unusual, more like a thick inidan Roti. I'm glad we gave this a try! Staff were so friendly, polite and attentive who are immersed in proving the best possible service and advice about their food. And as first time diners the chef came over a number of times to suggest he cooked us something to suit our tastes, and checked that we were enjoying the food and experience throughout.   Its by far the best Indian food not in Vilamoura but in the entire Algarve! After trying most of the Indian restaurants in the area what i can say is: Just go there and you gonna have the most amazing experience when it comes to Indian food!   The place is an absolute must to visit for Indian food seekers in Algarve. Its authentic. Its delicious. After having a bit of disappointment with other indian restaurants, we came across this place and for last 2 weeks, we have been here numerous times. Food is tasty, staff is polite and attentive, ambience is perfect and the owner and chef, Mr Narayan is a master.   The Chef and staff greeted us very warmly, it felt as if we had arrived to have a meal with friends.   I can’t say enough good things about this place. Food is just AmaZing. It’s the best Indian food I have eaten in a longgg time. We extended our 2 days stay in Vilamoura to 4 days just because the food there was so tasty and authentic Indian food. Places like this one is hard to find. We had Gobhi Manchurian, kadhai paneer, chana masala, dal makhni, gobhi matar keema etc :D… Everything was Perfectly done. Manchurian was the best Manchurian I have ever eaten. It’s truly an authentic Indian food experience(no colour, no sugar and no cream. ). It’s worth a drive to just come here for food. Chef Narayan Rao and Mrudula are wonderful people who adds to the experience. If you are in this region and craving for some really good Indian food..This is The Place!!   Believe the reviews. This is fantastic food, in an odd (but charming) location, where you are somehow having the privilege of being cooked for by someone who trained in some of the top 5 star hotels in India (e.g. Oberoi), in a completely authentic style. It definitely isn't what you expect from the Algarve, but I stress that the rave reviews are not a function of naive tourists that have never had Indian food before. I have my Indian wife to judge, who putting it lightly, is fairly discerning when it comes to Indian "authenticity" - she was blown away. For the Londoners out there, the quality of the food is on par with many great Indian restaurants in London (Darjeeling Express, Gymkhana, Bombay Bustle, Dishoom, etc.). The service was excellent and we (and all the other guests we observed), were made to feel extremely welcome and at ease - despite our son drawing with a coloured pen on Mrudula's pristine white dress. We came for dinner and will be returning for lunch - that is the time that they make dosas and idlis - a must for any fans of South Indian cuisine. (Traduzido pelo Google) Acredite nos comentários.   Without a doubt the best Indian food I've ever tasted. The whole experience was brilliant. We opted for recommendations from the menu and everything was absolutely delicious. The caraway seed naan bread was a particular highlight. We made a point of visiting twice during our stay and enjoyed it as much the 2nd time around. If you like Indian food you will love it here.   Gem of a place that we happened upon completely by chance when shopping at the nearby Spar. Such friendly and inviting staff, backed up by some absolutely fantastic food. The menu is extensive, however they will happy adjust to suit your taste. The chef is great, will come out and talk to you about what you’d like, best combinations of sundries and some history of what you’re ordering. I’m a bit of a naan bread addict.. and they make the lightest, crispiest naan breads.. just have a look at the pics. The kicker is that it’s all at reasonable prices and set in a really peaceful location. I don’t often give 5 stars.. but they deserve it.   We recently discovered this INCREDIBLE place. If you are not familiar with the area its placed - you would not find it. We were invited by Indian friends. My god! A true pearl of Algarve. The food is amazing. The staff is like family. And the chef is a magician. I can't say enough positive things about this place. Just go there!!! NOW!   An amazing family restaurant. the owners are very friendly and smiling. Food was delicious. Espacially The snacks that came before the meal were also very tasty.   Fantastic experience. Went for dinner with our 3 girls age 11 and 13. We live in vilamoura and normally go to other indian restaurant. But recommended so we tried. The menu is true indian food so did not recognise any of the dishes🙄. The chef came to the table and asked what we wanted.... Chicken, prawns. And than he would make us something. Really amazing... The starters were vegetarian... Not what i would choose and definitely not our kids.. But we all loved it Crispy spinach, spicy cauliflowrr and pickeled patatoes.. The girls eat it all and wanted me to ask the recipe. The main dishes were fantastic. With again by the chef explained what goes with what and how to eat like it is supposed to be... The girls. Loved the food and even more the background of the food and how to taste... A real indian experience. So if you don't what the papadums and tila massala. But real. Indian food. Go here.   One of my favourite restaurants ever. Mandatory stop when when passing in Algarve. Not a typical indian restaurant.   This is one of the finest Indian restaurants i have ever been to! The service was very good first off. The place looked amazing and had a great atmosphere. You have to go early 6-7:30 to get seated straight away as you can't book. The food was amazing it really was! Portugal can handle there heat so the medium spiced dish was pretty warm more like a hot at home but it was still very nice dont get me wrong. The palak fry for starter was simply perfection in every way!   We recently ate here and Chef Narayan prepared a special tasting menu of dishes from Kerala. The entire menu was vegan which is really special here and included several hard to find ingredients such as drumstick and jackfruit. It was excellent value at €20 per person for two starters, five main dishes, two types of rice, bread, poppadoms and dessert. Not only that, we were also given a lot of insights into the origins of the dishes, the traditional Indian way to eat them and their health benefits. Fantastic from start to finish.   What a fantastic restaurant. The food is too die for, soooo good and all made to suit your taste rather than ordering from a menu.
