  It always amazes me why inhospitable people work in the hospitality industry. Was there for my birthday and the rudest blonde woman was serving us who just did not want to be there. Don't know why she didn't take the day off. Even unkind to our 3 year old. To try to balance things a bit our adult food was nice, the kids food was meh... not often our son leaves behind any of is burger. I am sure it is not like this for everybody and our experience is irregular...but the visit soured the evening for us.   Recently moved here and trying places one at a time. went here for lunch on a Sunny Sunday afternoon. We shared the garlic prawns and a Greek salad. Both were incredible, five large prawns and the salad had a ton of great feta cheese. We sat in the sun and enjoyed the afternoon. We will definitely be back. Looking forward to trying some of the other menu selections. Minor warning, they have limited inside seating so the seating would be limited if it is raining.   Getting a bit chilly, but still the restaurant has a cosy atmosphere and the food is really good. Only annoyance was that the restaurant is quiet. It's that time of year. I dined alone and thought it would be okay if I sat at the table closest to the heater. But I was told it was not okay. Totally understand. When in Rome. Just a bit silly to be honest.   After several visits to old village decided to visit caso largo, very disappointed. Had a chicken wrap, dried out tiny piece of chicken and limp salad. Service was very mediocre with staff who were reluctant to let us peruse menu at our own pace. Waitress appeared bored and couldn't be bothered to serve us. Will not use this place again.   Beautiful location. I was there for dinner, the food bland and over priced. Children's food all from packaging. Nothing was made from scratch or fresh on my child's plate, not even the peas. My starter was scampi. Not fresh, looked like from frozen/supermarket. My surf and turf €29 tipping €30, was literally the exact same boxed breaded scampi, on the side of a good sized steak(under seasoned) which was cooked as I asked (one good point), but again bland.   Such a shame as its a beautiful spot but it was below average, the food was mixed. Steak was cooked nicely and the burger was nice but the chicken piri piri was extremely dry and the piri piri lacked spice. But to top it off the service was poor. The lady who seemed to be in charge was abrupt and in a rush, seemed like she couldn’t be bothered serving us. Sadly, we won’t be back.   So finally decided to check out the Old Village Vilamoura. Was walking around and found this place on next to last day they were open for the season. Glad we did. Very nice location, lovely scenery, nice outdoor seating area. Food was good, service was great. All in all a very nice experience. We will be back when they open again next year. *Update Ok, it's next year and we went back to check this place out again. This time we both had 1/2 Chicken Dinner. She did Piri-Piri, I just did Roasted. Both were very good, but hers was better. ☺️ Service was awesome. Just a lovely setting for a nice quiet meal away from the Marina. This time we decided for our first dining out experience would be a lovely sit down meal at casa do largo (romance in the air) when we stood waiting to be shown to a table (6 empty) we were told no tables were available and would be some wait until we would get one and we’re unsure how long we would have to wait only one table had a reserved sign on it.   We fell in love with Casa do Largo 5 years ago on a family holiday and were lucky enough to have our wedding there in July. The venue is absolutely stunning and we didn’t consider anywhere else. From my first contact with a Heather it was clear we were in safe hands. I felt confident that she knew exactly what she was doing and Heather certainly did not disappoint. Her communication is second to none and although it can feel daunting planning a wedding abroad, this quickly disappears as you start going through the process with Heather. Heather has great contacts with all the best suppliers and really does make the planning feel easy. Absolutely every tiny detail was covered and nothing was undelivered on the day. The precision of Heather and her team is simply outstanding. The venue looked breathtaking, food and service was top notch. We had so many compliments and comments around the food being the best wedding food our guests had ever had. The team worked so hard to make our day perfect. Unfortunately my groom was poorly during the day but again the team went above and beyond to look after him and also make sure that I was ok too - thank you so much. Everyone had a great time and I cannot recommend this place highly enough for a wedding. Lots of guests visited during the week for drinks and food too and said how good it was. An absolutely beautiful and amazing place to get married, like nowhere I’ve seen before.   Tendo acabado de chegar à Old Village, para nosso grande espanto, só nos encontrámos com ingleses e este restaurante deve até ser gerido por falantes de inglês! Melhor fazer reserva para comer ou chegar bem cedo! A espera pelos pratos foi muito longa!!! Pelo menos 30 minutos ou mais! Com crianças não é o melhor. Refeição muito cara pelo resultado no prato. Foi bom, mas meh... nada de especial. Bastante decepcionado com este restaurante. No entanto, o proprietário está sorridente e acolhedor.

  O lugar é LINDO, parece cenário de filme. Pedimos uma entrada de frango e umas batatas com queijo (que estavam maravilhosas). Para o almoço, um frango assado, que estava gostoso também. A sobremesa (bolo de chocolate) não valeu tanto a pena, esperava um pouco mais. Senti falta apenas de um couvert com pães e alguma entradinha enquanto esperávamos os pratos, típico de Portugal, mas por ser um restaurante "inglês" não me pareceu se importarem tanto com a hospitalidade. De qualquer forma, pretendo voltar pois valeu a pena.

  This was our third time at this restaurant as the previous two occasions had been excellent. However, tonight’s shambles has been so bad we have had to drastically change our opinion of this restaurant. My wife and I, who have been long term vegetarian’s ordered vegetarian sausage and mash only to be brought out a meal which resembled a normal meat sausage. After querying twice with the waiting staff of which all assured us that they were vegetarian sausages we were not convinced so questioned it once more to then be told that they were not veggie sausages but regular ones. When it came to paying the bill we was still charged full price. This whole episode has left us feeling both ill and annoyed.   Very diverse menu. Every one is sure to find something they'd like. I had the Ocean Pie which was a seafood casserole with layers of white fish and spinach and mashed potatoes in white sauce. My husband had the Roast Lamb dish which he enjoyed very much. There was no scrap of meat, or anything else, left on his plate. The BEST thing WAS that it has continuous hours and was open when everything else was closed. We plan to visit again. I also really enjoyed their selection of music- 1960's rock & roll.
