  We visited last week for my wife's 50th birthday. What can I say apart from wow. From the minute we arrived until we left, it was 1st class. The food was amazing, and the wine was amazing . After we had finished our meal, we went outside and had more drinks in the beautiful seating/ restaurant area next to the marina edge.   We chose this place to take our lunch after a long walk on the nearby beach. Their menu was varied and the service was friendly and quick. There was outside seating with lovely views to the Vilamoura Marina, and the weather, even in November, was warm enough to enjoy our meal outdoors.   The food was very tasty. The staff was helpful and kind. The size of the portions was a bit disappointing given the price, but I assume, given the location, the prices were reasonable.   Gorgeous food, hectic atmosphere. This restaurant is packed every night and after having a meal there I understand why - the food is great. We ordered a truffle pasta and carbonara and they were both amazing! They arrived piping hot and fresh in these gorgeous deep bowls that kept the food warm while you ate. We had a lovely meal but the atmosphere is quite hectic. The tables are crammed in so you’re extremely close to the people next to you and it’s hard to move around, especially because staff would carve steaks at tables which they just don’t have room to do. We saw a couple try to come in with a pram and they had to leave again because it wouldn’t fit down the narrow space between tables. I couldn’t fault the food and the service was good, but it wasn’t a relaxing atmosphere and we didn’t hang around long when we were finished.   It was our first time in Vilamoura together as friends and we were happy to see one or two vegan options. My friend ordered Bacalhau which turned out to be rather good (although not what she expected). I, on the other hand, only had Pasta Arrabiata as an option. A couple minutes after ordering I had a hunch to ask about whether the pasta had eggs, and turned out it did (even after saying I am vegan). Nonetheless, I was offered gluten free penne as an alternative. Overall, gorgeous views but service should be better prepared for dietary questions.   Great little spot on the marina to eat, food was amazing. I would suggest the calamari or anything fishy as it is fresh. The service wasn't as great as I expected as it wasn't very busy. I had to wait a little longer than expected for my drink, and they got my drink order wrong. The food was outstanding.   What a delightful restaurant. We ate on the terrace and what a lovely place to eat. Very attentive staff, beautifully cooked and presented food. The grilled Sea Bass was absolutely divine.   Went here for a quick lunch and it was quiet. Staff were friendly and quick to bring us drinks and couvert (tuna pate and fresh bread was one of the nicest we had in Vilamoura). We ordered 3 toasted sandwiches and the prawn sandwich in the photo. The toasted sandwiches were a bit overpriced at 8 euro, the prawn sandwich at 9.50 was very good though, including large tasty prawns and avocado with a nice sauce. Came with 3 slices of bread which is not explained on menu. Unfortunately things got busy at this stage and service took a nose dive. It was very warm and we'd young kids with us so asked for more water fairly soon after finishing the first bottle. The waitress I asked was very grumpy, no smile and never came back to us. We'd finished our food before another waiter brought the water and apologised a few times for the delay. We then had to wait again to get anyone's attention to ask for the bill. 2 out of 3 staff members were very friendly and really doing their best, but the place is clearly understaffed.   We booked for a party of 14 over a month ago. When we turned up for our meal at the allotted time of 9pm we were told they were too busy to seat us and we would have to wait 30minutes, the manager asked us to go to the bar next door and she would come and get us when they were read, 50 minutes later we returned as we had not been called an were finally seated to find our party had been split over 2 tables. We complained about this and the fact we had such a wait and nobody came to get us and they sorted the seating situation out. The meal came and on the whole everyone was happy, I had calamari that was a little over done, the fillet steak was not the best cut but tasty. The chips tasted like fish (obviously cooked in the same oil as the battered fish). When the bill came we found that the bread they had given us when we were seated was charged for (we thought it was complementary due to the issues) we refused to pay for the chips as they were not eaten as people didn’t like fish. When we made it clear that the way the bread was served we thought it was complimentary and the chips tasted of fish on top of the long delay and the split party we were met with some resistance before they decided to credit the bread and chips. Overall the experience felt rushed, and like were an inconvenience, they were not very customer focussed. Quando a conta chegou, descobrimos que o pão que eles nos deram quando estávamos sentados foi cobrado (pensamos que era complementar devido aos problemas), nos recusamos a pagar pelas batatas fritas, pois elas não eram comidas porque as pessoas não gostavam de peixe . Quando deixamos claro que a forma como o pão foi servido, pensamos que era cortesia e que as batatas fritas tinham gosto de peixe, além do longo atraso e da festa dividida, encontramos alguma resistência antes que eles decidissem creditar o pão e as batatas fritas.   We really loved news as it was on the marina, we got to have an amazing seat facing the boats the staff were great - superb service. Also we got to meet an amazing group of people who sat behind us waiting for their table to be made who were vibrant and even didn’t mind taking photos. We also met them out again on a few nights including that night behind news where’re we danced and had drinks. Our starters were super nice but the mains 😍😍 wow the prawn risotto was delicious even so my partner started eating mine aswell - sharing is caring. Brilliant restaurant, class service and great food. Definitely would come back there - just have to plan the next trip to vilamoura. Waiters didn’t have a clue what drinks were for our table. “Complimentary bread” that was added to our table is a 2.50 charge per roll so overall charge was 12.50. Didn’t even eat it and were charged. Had a “singer” shouting down the mic. Unable to even hear the person sitting opposite me. Asked for the bill and tried over charging us.   Visited 25th April 2022, first night of our holiday wouldn't even give it one star but had to as wouldn't let me do a review. After a long travel and looking forward to our first night together we visited NEWS as staff seemed nice and restaurant looked clean this was around 10pm (to my understanding this place closes at 2am) we were offered water which was 5 euros for a bottle (wasn't informed of this) they then stuck bread rolls with some tuna paste on our table (no inform of charge at the time, yet another 5 euros) we then ordered pizza and chips and my gosh it come out within less than 5 minutes. All the food was rushed and undercooked. We were rushed out of the restaurant to. I then spent the next 24 hours of my first days into my holiday with food poisoning!!!! AVOID, cant believe it, ruined my holiday and may as well thrown £500 holiday fund out the window.   Walked by this restaurant several times and I now regret not stopping in sooner. It was busy when we sat down and what really impressed me was the staff. They all pitched in, helped each other out. Extremely friendly and the establishment is spotless. Very clean. The furniture inside is absolutely lovely. For lunch we had the camarão pizza, the homemade calamari rings and french fries.   THE POSSITIVE Great location. Comfortable seating (outside). Relative fast and very polite service. The bagel with creal cheese and avocado was better than expected. THE LESS POSITIVE The music way too loud. I don't think anyone enjoyed it at that level and music on a patio in the sun, around lunch time, is suppose to support the ambiance, not kill it. I had to shift table as I litterally was sitting on top of a speaker. I also ordered the falafel pita, but that was a big dissapointment. Obviously falafel isn't the main thing at NEWS but these were really not nice. On top of that, it wasn't a pita at all. A small and saggy tortillas was placed in a bowl and the falafel (balls) were placed inside together with the other ingredients. It fell a part when I tried to get it out of the bowl. Finally. If you're unlucky, like me, you can find yourself sitting close to a smoker. As a Canadian, I am not used to any smoke at restaurants, inside or outside, so that was an unpleasant surprise. The only thing is the size is the meat I got was quite disappointing, we are supposed to share 450-500g of steak for two people, but by the looks of it we barely got 350g. The food is Very high quality and again varied menu. I can highly recommend the prawns in garlic which they very kindly de-shelled for me. Pizza 🍕 was also amazing. We got 2 (small) coffees with 4 slices of buttered toast, an OJ, a bottle of water and 2 croissants for over €20. One minor annoyance was the waitress(possibly the owner) was quiet obviously annoyed when we didn't order food (this was between meals at 4pm, place was 3/4 empty), and we were basically ignored after our drinks were brought down.
