  Everything was wonderful! It is very close to the fortress, so it’s pretty full during peak lunch hour (I recommend going a bit earlier or trying a reservation). We enjoyed very delicious food (the rice with fish and seafood and the tuna loin were particularly amazing). The staff were very friendly and attentive. Definitely recommend!   Beautiful and elegant restaurant that serves typical Portuguese courses with a modern twist, the quality of the fish is impeccable: fresh and local, I highly recommend the Octopus rice; Also there are very nice vegetarian options, the food portions are quite large but still all the food is presented beautifully.   The food was good, but what did it for me was the service. Not usual in Portugal to have this level of friendliness and attention from staff in a restaurant. The grilled fish we ate had been caught within a few hours and you could taste the freshness. The Octopus rice was tasty, but the texture of the octopus was not quite right so I wouldn't say it was my best dish. He took the time to talk to every table and get feedback from everyone on the food, service etc. I asked him about the restaurant and he explained that it was his grandfather’s and it’s been up and running for 64 years. The meal reminded me of a poor-quality supermarket dish – unappetizing, cold, NOT fresh, not cleaned and bitter squid. It was quite disappointing overall. Probably fresh frozen seafood.   It’s a 3.5 actually. The olive oil as a starter is insulting expensive for the amount they bring, literally was a spoon of olive oil, 2,5€. Ludicrous. The rice octopus was quite good but we both felt it lacked seasoning. Grain of salt with their suggestions, they’ll be pushing towards their thing and not the stuff commissioned outsourced.   We tried this cozy and typical restaurant for a light lunch with local specialties. We were delighted by the quality of the clams and by the tastiness of shrimps and season salad with goat cheese.   We were lucky enough to find this quaint warm restaurant during our stay in Sagres. It was so good we went came back another night. The owner was extremely welcoming and friendly. Service was excellent and the food superb. Over the two nights we dined here we tried many different dishes and all were incredibly delicious. Would highly recommend any of the catch of the day, fish soup, fish and seafood rice, any of the prawn dishes, the clams, and yes, even the A Sagres beefsteak. I doubt you would go wrong with anything on the menu. We are a group of six and A Sagres was everyone's favorite restaurant on our 2 week Spain/Portugal trip.   After watching the sunset at the cliffs nearby, we stopped here for dinner and this place blew us out of the water. All the seafood was phenomenal. The garlic clams and octopus rice were particular standouts. A great restaurant run by the owner and his son. If you like spicy, definitly try the chili oil made by the owner.   We had a celebration dinner here at the end of our Rota Vicentina hike and it was perfect!! Beautiful spot and the hosts are do friendly. We loved all our food but highlights were the grilled clams, grilled shrimp and the fish soup. Also loved the house Douro red and the yummy ginger + mint drink (made fresh!)   This was a small family business which an older gentleman was taking orders, serving and cleaning up all on his own. He was super kind and generous and was a working machine! When we arrived he had (4) tables he was managing but still took his time to get us seated and started. The food was really good and authentic (as far as I could tell). Most of the people at the restaurant were Portuguese so always a good sign. We had an appetizer, soup and shared entree which all were great and felt so authentic!   We had such a lovely time at this restaurant. It’s a close drive to a few beaches and the food was spectacular. We had fresh fish and great wine. The owner was so kind and during our lunch, he walked over and told my family that he loved that we weren’t on our phones and enjoying his food and our company. He even gifted us a bottle of rose as we were heading out! This is by far my favorite meal in Algave. Thank you so much for the best time and we hope to be back again soon!!! During lunch, my wife poured some water from her water bottle into the glass. When the check came we were charged for water even though we ordered none. Politely said that was not a problem, but could we take the water we paid for. They greatly hesitated then finally gave us a water 1/3 the size of what is served at the table.   Beautiful place, reasonably priced, nice people, but we were very unlucky with the food. My partner can't eat onion and parsley and we were clearly about that when we ordered the famous octopus rice. first one came with loads of parsley on the top, the waiter apologised and took the pot away, 10min later the other waiter was trying to give us the same pot, just with some parsley removed. we didn't accepted that. the third pot came just 15min before the closing time, we weren't offered any snack or anything in the meantime and we were already waiting over an hour so we were very hungry and upset. finally the octopus rice without parsley arrived! but the octopus was very chewy and hard to bite. when we left, my partner got sick and we barely made it to the hotel. we weren't sure whether they gave us the same octopus which was already in the first pot as we haven't tried this dish before until couple days later in a different city (I highly recommend Tasca da Avenida in Setubal!). Just a short walk from the beautiful Praia de Mareta and the Fortaleza de Sargres, we found this great patio with beautiful music filled with locals enjoying the delicious food. We got there at 9.10 pm, there was a queue of around 6 people looking completely lost because no one would ask them if they wanted to sit inside or outside, how many people, etc. We ended asking the owner if we could sit outside.   Actually I don't know who can write that this food is delicious. I was here with a big group of friends and all of us ordered different dishes. They all were kind of disgusting. Kebabs were overcooked as well as portuguese steaks, tune steak wasn't even steak, it was just stewed fish under tonnes of disgusting "caramelized" onion. Different fish fillets weren't that bad but there was a lack of seasonings and without sauce they were dry. Prices for such dishes are high.   Literally the worst meal we had in Portugal during our stay. The fish soup is made with pasta 😮 and tastes more like a vegetable soup than fish soup. The squid was not well cleaned before cooking, we found the "bone" thing and the inner parts inside. Tuna steak was ok but not good enough to save the rest of the cooking fails.   Nice terrasse with shade, choose your area and menu. Friendly staff, we didn't feel much the wait mentioned in other comments (off-peak). Burgers were cooked according to our order (one medium, one rare), worth to be mentioned. Fries were too salty (herbs and salt is too much).   Nice place for a quick bite when exploring Cape Saint Vincent and the fortress of Sagres. There are a proper restaurant with traditional Portuguese food and a bar with a nice terrace that offers burguers, salads, pasta and toasts. We had some toasts, a fish soup, and a couple of drinks each and we paid less than 8€ per person! The attention was quite good too, the girl came very often to check everything was ok and if we had like it. Owned and run by three generations of the same family, the food is excellent, we had the bolognese with a delicious red wine, followed by some local cheese and then the most delicious cheese cake I have tasted, and I am a big fan of cheese cake. The decking outside makes for a lovely place to sit in the summer, and the interior is really comfortable, warm (there's a wood burning stove!) and chic. All in all fantastic place to eat.
