  They changed the menu so most pictures that are on Google are outdated. I had the dorade. They allowed me to sit inside with my dog, and overall were very humble and nice.   We had lunch here today and it was great. The staff was super friendly and the atmosphere was great and very calming. We each had a starter, main and dessert and payed around 30€ per person, including drinks. They have great wine and we can also recommend the fresh mango juice.   Lugar para sair e barato. Não é rápido. Se você estiver com pressa… não coma aqui. Têm uma empregada que serve todo o espaço e toda a esplanada, talvez para cobrir a época baixa, não é mau, quando as pessoas começam a sair da levada... não chega. Coisa completamente compreensível. A comida não era nada ruim, embora esperávamos algo diferente da porção de queijo empanado, para ser honesto.

  Great food with really good veggie/vegan options, I had vegan shakshuka with garlic bread and my partner had the regular shakshuka (vegan one comes with tofu and potatoes instead of eggs) and it really hit the spot after a long hike. Very friendly staff, accept card as well as cash and you can sit outside in view of some chickens, peacocks and other birds which provides some entertainment. A lovely place that I can’t recommend enough!   This was such a gem of a restaurant, so happy we decided to visit before the hike. We sat outside in the sun, with peacocks and chickens all around which was such a nice experience. The staff were friendly and helpful, giving advice, and the food was amazing! Was not expecting such good quality food- I had shakshuka with eggs and it was one of the best I’ve had!   Quinta da Levada is a small hidden gem that cannot be missed when you visit Sao Jorge and especially when you do the Kings Levada walk. The espetada is done with the traditional "laurel stick" which is really great to see! They have a wonderful outdoor area that really looks like you are relaxing at your own backyard. One may see chickens and peacocks, all while soaking up the sun. We had a group of 60 people and in such short notice, they were able to deliver promptly and with a smile. It doesn't ruin the experience in any way, and everything is quite at a good level. The key is to arrive here earlier than other people, as there might be lengthy lines otherwise.   Bar requintado com ótimos assentos no jardim aconchegante. Galinhas, coelhos e pavões correm livremente por lá - realmente ótimo. Comi uma boa salada e um bolo realmente delicioso (bolo de limão).   Found this by the great Google rating and can definitely recommend, not only as a snack bar but as a regular restaurant. For starters we took the shrimp croquettes, shaped like dumplings which was super fun as we’re from Poland :D we liked the filling and were pretty full when the mains came in. We really wanted to try the local espada with a banana and this was a great choice, served with baked potatos (not milho frito unfortunately but the wedges were very good) and a side salad. Other dish we tried was beef sirloin (ideally cooked medium rare, very soft and tasty) with the same sides as espada. I can also recommend the Madeira tonic for drink, it was a good way to get to know the taste of this alcohol in a milder way 😅 the service was really nice and helpful with the choices!
