  We arrived at Café Ingles a bit after lunchtime, so they weren't serving food, but we could still get cakes. We chose an orange chocolate cake and a walnut cake. The staff was accommodating, allowing us to bring in a sandwich and a wrap from a nearby restaurant. The atmosphere is incredibly relaxing, situated right at the base of the castle and church. Highly recommend a visit here if you're in Silves—our Uber driver suggested it too!   Lovely little cafe by the entrance to the castle which was perfect to have a drink and rest. The waiter was very polite and freindly and sat me at a perfect table in the sun. Only had a drink and a slice of cake but there was a decent menu with a variety of food on jad i wanted a meal. Would recommend especially on a nice day.   I went there with my family. The staff are great, really helpful and kind. But the food is really expensive, like really small entrances for 8 and 9 euros, which only one person can eat. No vegan options, just vegetarian options, 2 options in total. The only thing which is worth the value for money it is the pizza, in my opinion. We ordered our drinks after making sure that it was ok not to be ordering food and then waited for over 20 minutes with no drinks arriving.   Great space, patio looks at the castle, back space is cozy and the main is setup well for shows. The staff is moving fast and a bit abrupt at times but Laura had a smile for me. The hostess was delightful, greeted me with a warm smile & attended to me and everyone else. The 2 severs & hostess are a well oiled machine working to get the job done. The mussels were cooked well and the buttery sauce was delicious with crusty bread to dip. The pizza was tasty but not my favorite with a cracker crust. I should have had one of the alluring specials that the table in front of me had. Truly I came for the jazz which didn’t disappoint. Good selection of sandwiches and pizzas. Pizzas have lovely thin and crispy bases and aren't too salty, which I often find with pizza.   Had some decent tapas and white sangria at Café Inglês after having visited the castle. The gazpacho was far and away the best experience - great flavour! The nachos and the ham/cheese/melon platter were decent. The baguettes were fine - but you have to assemble them yourself. Staff were friendly. Unfortunately, the whole experience was marred by three rowdy youngsters who drank beers while being loud and unpleasant. Of course, their behaviour isn't the fault of the staff, but would've appreciated it if they'd asked them to pipe down.   This restaurant is near the ramparts of the castle in Silves. We had booked as it is only a small restaurant. The food was excellent, from a small menu. My steak was cooked exactly as I like it. The banofi pie for dessert was wonderful with proper chunks of banana on a crispy base. So nice to have a good homemade dessert.   The cappuccino with cream is very nice. The coffee tastes intense and fresh. Along with the cappuccino i ordered a marmor cake that was however very dry. The service is good, didnt wait long for the waiter and the order came quickly, too. Location itself is great, right below the castle and next to the cathedral. An overpriced "vegetarian salad" (€12.50!!)was one of the most unappetizing ever seen, with bad potatoes, pineapple, just some tasteless ingredients thrown together on a plate. The gazpacho appeared not to be homemade, just some strange garnish and icecubes added (and very sweet); the melon with serrano- you can think what can go wrong here, but tasteless melon and not good quality of ham.   This place is amazing! I have made numerous memories here, some go so far in my childhood. The staff is absolutely amazing, they blend perfectly with the whole atmosphere of the place.   Fantastic place, beautiful decor and ambience, great location by the castle of Silves, with terrace and view to the monuments very high up the hill, in the town historical center. We had dinner with live concert - was amazing can only recommend. We ordered the (super tender) steak, vegetable and gorgonzola calzone ( recommend for those who can't eat heavy meals for dinner, loved it), and fisherman's calzone (spicy and full of flavour) all was delicious, and went very well with a glass of wine (good selection of Algarve's wines). The staff was very nice, helpful, made us feel at home. Super recommend! The menu does not have many options but enough to satisfy every taste and there is some variation every day. The ingredients were all fresh.   I cannot recommend this place enough. Pizzas are delicious as is the chocolate and red fruit cake. Tankery gin staff that welcome us by name and top notch jazz musicians I'd pay to see at Ronnie Scott's. Al Guitar Duo tonight was incredible.   Nice place in a nice setting. Each of us took however the fig and almond dessert and it was very sweet with alcohol inside. The description in the menu did not match and it would have been nice to know beforehand. The waitress was nice and replaced one of our cakes as my boyfriend cannot have alcohol, but he took a crumble instead which was also not great. So a bit disappointed with the desserts.   The town of Silves has a lot of charm and Café Inglês is certainly a massive part of that. With exceptional views of either the castle behind or over the town and landscape beyond, it is wonderfully relaxing sitting in the courtyard of the Café. The house red wine really is delicious and the food is actually way better than anyone has a right to expect it to be. The tuna pizza is perfectly cooked and loaded with tuna and just the right amount of other ingredients (thanks for taking off the corn!) and the Smoked Salmon salad was out of this world! Maybe the only thing better is the homemade cakes and desserts, the chocolate orange cake is excellent, oh and the almond cake is as delicious as described... Thank you so much for a special meal and relaxing stop at Café Inglês, we will definitely return for the food and the incredible service next time we are in the Algarve!   Visited Silves for the Cafe Ingles Sunday music, very hot day. We were lucky enough to get a table in the sort of courtyard area at the rear, and had a pizza and iced teas. The pizza was excellent, the dough tasted very fresh, and the whole thing was great. After the food we went back out to the front and watched a very good young band playing everything from the Stones to Ed Sheeran. Thoroughly recommended if you are in the Algarve.   Great food, great outdoor space, very nice staff. My brother is mental disabled and staff was very kind. They also offered 1 beer (I think they forgot to charge but let's pretend it was an offer).   This restaurant was recommended to us in the villa we are staying and it lived up to expectations. Food and service was great, which made the ambience first class. We sat outside but it did get a bit chilly by around 10.00pm. It was extremely busy and the food was slow to arrive but it was worth the wait. Pizzas were extremely tasty, as was the salad, and I had the lamb bourgignon ... superb! What are you waiting for?!
