  The restaurant is very ageist. My friend and I are in our twenties and our waitress made it very clear that she wants to help retired people before us. She was very welcoming and helpful to them. However to us she was very rude and inattentive. As soon as we asked her to order she told us to wait and didn’t show up till 15 minutes later because she was taking orders from other elderly customers that took a seat later than us. The other staff ignored our requests the entire time while it was not even busy. Eventually our food and drinks arrived but a part was missing. Even when we asked for the bill, retired elders that asked for their bill later than us, got it earlier and were able to leave sooner. We had tickets booked to see the Quinta da Regaleira, and were 1 hour later because of this experience. Would not recommend unless you want a fake or rude experience.   This restaurant was recommended by our local driver. Looked at the menu & decided it had plenty of variety & prices looked ok. I looked at the rating after we had got our food & was very surprised it was 3.2. We had excellent service, very friendly & helpful. The food & coffee was really good so not sure why the low rating!   We popped in here for lunch on a rainy day, so service was a bit slow as it was rather crowded with people trying to get out of the rain. Overall the food was delicious, if a little pricey. The roasted baby potatoes were undercooked, so do not recommend that dish. The steak was definitely worth the price however. Overall a decent meal.   First I’ll say this. The sausage and cauliflower salad were delicious. We also had mojitos and they were excellent. We ordered two different cod dishes both were bad. The fried cod came full of bones. It was inedible. The cod crepes came in the most perplexing sweet cream sauce. It made us gag. What is going on here?   I think the reviews on here are harsh. It is tourist prices for sure, and not authentic French food ( not sure if it’s trying to even claim that in the first place ), but the food was solid , the service was good and the patio was lovely. I have liked it enough to go back several times over the years. It’s balanced. Nice atmosphere, good service, better quality place settings than most restaurants, international food cooked well.   Very nice staff. They agreed to treat us happy hour deal even though it was still early. Unfortunately the price value ratio is not so good. It’s a bit pricy as per location but they are other places around with much poorer quality and similar prices. Still would recommend comparing to what is around because of the staff.   Recommended buyer tour guide. The food was ok but for the price I was expecting better. The waiter was nice but the kitchen was close to 45 minutes before we got our meal. We had very little time to eat leaving us very little time to see the town and get back to our tour bus.   Pristine toilets with amusing ditties in the men's toilets. Probably a nice place to have dinner but not recommended for coffee. The choice seems to be between espresso or cappuccino. The latter consists mostly of froth and cinnamon which we hadn't asked for. The glass of water I asked for never materialized. Good location though.   We enjoyed our lunch here after going to the national Palace of sintra. I am not sure about the other reviews but our experience was perfect. From the sangria and the risotto's and spaghetti bolognese plus Travesseiro dessert and finished with delicious coffee everything was perfect. I know that reviews can be subjective so all I can say was that we had a perfect experience and the food was delicious.   Located in the heart of Sintra with great views, this restaurant offers great food and excellent service. I had grilled Sea Bream with baked potatoes and greens while my friend ordered grilled octopus. Wine in the menu, both Portuguese, was also very good. Ricardo R., the waiter was wonderful, very professional, helpful and always checking in on the diners. Overall, having had a long day visiting Sintra’s castles and beautiful gardens, the dinner at this restaurant was a perfect way to end our visit from Lisbon.   Ordered soup “Caldo Verde” which was good, pancake with chicken which had spoiled sauce and a sandwich which had rotten tomato inside. Waiter admitted the bad food, yet sauce bow just vanished and they asked us to choose a replacement for sandwich referring to the fact that other clients do not complain and it is just us disliking tomato. I should say that pancake had salad with tomatoes and they were good. I concluded they were not going to change something about the way they do sandwiches. Had to order a board of sliced sausages. They have vegetarian and vegan options. But the dishes that we took were not super creative or unique in taste. Which leads me to the next point.   We ordered two entrances and a two campari. The cocktails were really good, the pimientos Al padrón were good and the chicken was a very small portion it was ok. The place is very crowded as it is a very turístico point but to drink something quick and eat something small is ok. The service was very nice.   Recommended by our tour guide and it has not disappointed. We ordered a monk fish and shrimp risotto for 2 (recommended by our server) and it is absolutely delicious. Very generous portion and tasty. We couldn't even finish the rice. The server picked out all the fish and shrimp and gave to us so the rest didnt go into waste.   This place was recommended by our guide and is directly across from the Sintra Castle. The view is fantastic from their patio. They had a large amount of seating on their patio. We got seated near where they make desserts and it was fascinating to watch them make crepes and prepare other desserts. Because the area is heavy with tourists, the prices do reflect this but we did receive high quality of food. I was worried after quickly reading some reviews. The bread was fresh and tasty. We also had olives. (Please note, butter is extra €, we didn’t realize that right away!) The Caesar salad with chicken was excellent. A huge portion of food. I was only able to finish about 1/3. The dressing tasted like fresh anchovies were used. My husband’s cod + potatoes/spinach met his approval. He said the spinach was well seasoned with fresh garlic. My children split the steak and chips. They both liked the steak and ate the whole thing. They were packed when we came at lunchtime. Therefore, the servers were quite busy. Our server was kind and polite and suggested entrees for my husband. She also cut and separated the steak into two for my kids, which was very nice of her. On a side note: The bathrooms were very clean and my daughter wasn’t nervous using the bathroom in this facility.   We came and waited for a while then came the menu. After reading it We realize its not the complete menu so We had to Ask for the real menu? After waiting for a while They asked us to move table for someone else for some reason But nobody got seated on the table. After another 10 minutes We went to another place Where we got fast service.   We have been this place for the shellfish soup for 3 times, in 2010, 2015 and 2019. It was amazing and delicious once before, but our recent visit was in May 2023, it is now totally different menu, chef and foods, very disappointing that seafood soup is in worst quality, cooked as Italian sticky risotto style now, can't taste any seafood flavour in it, full of species and herbs to cover the freshness of seafoods. Also it is so pricey now, 45 Euro for the seafood soup, but 19 Euro in other nearby restaurant with much better quality. This place is now only selling the location and becoming a tourist trap, not a good restaurant to eat, suggest everyone to avoid. Our last visit in 2023 wipes out the good memories with it, Cafe Paris definitely need improvement.   Great overall experience for an impromptu spot in Sintra. The pricing reflects a high tourist area but isnt unreasonable. Ordered a spicy tuna sandwich, 2 fresh juice, one beer, sausage platter, fruit plate and cappuccino and it was 65 euro.   Ricardo was an amazing waiter, From the time we walked up to the time we left we were treated like royalty! The food came out quickly and was well prepared, everything we tribe was absolutely delicious and they even made recommendations around our very picky eating style and dietary restrictions. There was a big rain storm and downpour while we were there and they accommodated us with a lot of grace and smiles. Ricardo's customer service was unbelievable, he was very patient with us as we decided and debated about what to order, and made sure that we felt special the whole time that we were there. It was an awesome experience and I highly recommend it to anyone going to this town to stop here for a coffee or some fish.   We had lunch here before our tour of Pena palace and it was lovely! The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, the outdoor patio was excellent, service was fairly quick, and our food was pretty decent. The only complaint was that the price was a bit of a tourist-trap type of situation. Like I said, the food was decent, but not even close to a justification of the price.   I had my lunch here with two more people today. Really nice and friendly staff, loved that part. But, I think the food does not match the price and it's not worth it. Don't get me wrong. I think it was good, but for that price I was expecting something much better. I guess as it's a touristy place, things will be more expensive, but still.   We are here on New Year’s Day. The service was friendly and efficient, but the food was terrible. We had three different kinds of soup. The French onion soup was inedible, the vegetable soup was bland, and the caldo verde was lukewarm. The chicken in the sandwich was over-cooked. The padron peppers were unsalted and very oily (moreso than they usually are). These five small dishes and four bottles of water came to over 50 Euro. I’d definitely give this place a miss.   If you value your taste buds (or your money) do avoid this place. It has: possibly the worst coffee in Portugal with sad coffee dregs floating at the bottom of the cup, fresh mango juice tasting like watered down cardboard, canned whipped cream, indifferent staff and - of course - high prices. The National Palace just across the street has gardens available to the public at no cost, so just grab something to go from any other place in the market square and go drink/eat there. It looked just like a warmed dish and the potatoes were swimming in the oil. My husband had a prawn dish with minted rice. The prawns and the fish were covered with a sweet sauce, thai style. The rice was overcooked and there wasn't any mint. Just a white fluffy rice bowl. I really regret we didn't dine in the typical tiny restaurants in the old town.   We visited here twice during our stay in Sintra. It has a large outside sitting area where you can enjoy the view of the cute Sintra village. Its desserts are exceptional (crème brûlée, crepe with caramel ice-cream…) However, the biggest reason I strongly recommend this place is the warm hospitality of the servers. In both of our visits, we were served by “Ricardo” and he totally deserves a special recognition. He helped all the guests he was interacting in a very professional and friendly way. He definitely made our time in Café Paris more personal, memorable, and pleasant. The prawns in the pasta were also overcooked so much, they were hard to swallow. On top of that was the high price tag, which left me twice as disappointed.   Stopped here to grab a drink with my family. It took 10 minutes to get a servers attention. The order was simple, 1 coffee and 2 bottles of water. When ordering I asked which non-dairy milks were available and was told oat milk, so I agreed for that one. The waters were delivered. 20 minutes passed.   Great place to sit and unwind with some wine and tapas! Centrally located restaurant with amazing views of Sintra National palace and the surrounding areas. Prices are a bit expensive as it is for tourists. Locals do not recommend it. Neat and clean place with a laid back rustic ambience.   Was the only place where we could find a table for two in sintra, food was ok (not great but didn't make us sick, yet at least), prices a bit high (but we can't really complain since it was the only place where we could find a table). All in all 3/5 - would go there again in order to avoid starvation.   Went here after a long day seeing the sights in Sintra. It's a lot more pricey than other restaurants nearby but we thought it was justified based on the extensive menu. We ordered fisherman's soup which was ok, the Potugeese fish (white fish with a tomato bases sauce) and the cod with baked potato. The cod arrived and was swimming in olive oil and tasted a little rubbery. The Portuguese fish was average. Later on the same evening we got food poisoning, I now realise it must have due to that cod which was probably not fresh and most likely frozen. Outrageous considering the price.   Service was great and probably the most formal in Sintra. All servers spoke English and had excellent recommendations. We started with the duck salad. It was delicious but we didn't love the dressing. It tasted like bottled raspberry vinaigrette-super sweet, but the greens were fresh and the duck was a cured meat. We ordered the seafood stew (a local traditional dish) and the pork and potato dish. Both were delicious. Planning to go for lunch tomorrow for the carbonara!   The atmosphere inside is nice and fancy, but the food quality and taste don't justify the overly high price that you pay. The baby octopus was blant and bathing in oil, the gravy and side for the veal steak just ruined the taste of the meat, very overpowering and all over the place. The juice was freshly squeezed but diluted with water. Desserts and starters were nice, however. Overall, looks like a typical wannabe-luxury place, that has a chandelier and multiple cutlery items on the review, and spikes up the prices only based on that. Would never ever recommend it to anyone.   Café Paris is an amazing restaurant located in the heart of sintra. The food was amazing but a bit to exspensive compared to other restaurants around it, a normal meal here is about €18 for a small portion while a meal at the restaurant beside it would be € 7 - 10 for something you wouldn't be able to finish but that said the quality was really good.
