There isn't a separate Google location for their 2 stars Michelin restaurant located on site of the hotel. The restaurant was amazing, not only that the food was beautifully decorated, the view outside the restaurant overlooking the river was equally stunning! What stood out was their service! From the way they arranged the cutlery to the way they present the food, it was simply delightful. The crews were friendly and ever ready to give an enjoyable experience! The Yeatman Gastronomic Restaurant was excellent and one of the more memorable experiences we have had. The food and wine was excellent, but the service ultimately was what made the experience so unique. A young energetic team that were exceptional hosts and managed to bringing joy and laughter throughout the entire experience. They listened to every word of our feedback and made adjustments as the night progressed. An unbelievable experience that was worth every penny and I would definitely recommend it to anyone deciding where to dine while they are in Porto. The moment we drove up to the entrance of The Yeatman, the service and kindness of the staff was AMAZING! During check-in we were offered welcome drinks (a glass of port wine). It was a lovely way to get introduced to the birthplace of port. The Yeatman is one of the most beautiful hotels I've ever seen. Our room had a wonderful view of the river and we especially enjoyed the turndown service (they leave chocolate 😋 by your pillow). We only had breakfast at the hotel which was delicious and had lots of options including an omelette station. The gym has all the latest equipment and foam rollers to help my achy legs after walking around Lisbon for several days. There is also both an indoor and outdoor pool (too cold and rainy to use the outdoor pool) but both had gorgeous views of downtown Porto and the river. If you get a chance, take the stairs which has information on both Portuguese and world historical events. The Yeatman made our visit of Porto much more enjoyable and I can't wait to come back! Wow. What an amazing 3 night stay at the Yeatman. From arrival, the reception staff are welcoming and knowledgeable. Samy at the bar is a top notch professional. The breakfast team was so helpful and quick to meet any needs you may have - fixing up lattes, refilling the best Detox juice, offering to-go boxes for the sleepy heads. What really took the cake was the wellness center. I didn’t even mention the view yet! Thank you to the concierge who helped us coordinate a one-way rental car with delivery to the hotel. The finely curated moments of the surrounding environment intertwined with the taste and textures of the dishes were executed to perfection. Where do I even start? We've visited quite some Michelin starred restaurants and love fine dining, however what we've experienced at The Yeatman was out of this world. From start to finish we were shown to three different locations, from a classy lounge with live piano music, to the heart of the operation, the kitchen, finishing in a large ballroom with a view over Porto. We were spoiled with dishes so soft but yet so full of flavour, with the most unique combinations, and looked like little art pieces on our table. This combined with an impeccible service and the kindest of staff. We can not lie, it isn't cheap, but it is a once in a lifetime experience worth every cent! We usually don't leave reviews this extensive but are so overwhelmed by this experience we wanted to share our love. We had our wedding at the Yeatman a bit more than 3 months ago. Let me start by saying that it was fantastic, with an amazing view, an extraordinary location, and we do not regret the choice we made when choosing them as our wedding location. Because of the location, view and the hotel itself, we would make the same decision once again. Later edit: We previously signaled a few issues that we encountered during our wedding, such as misunderstandings about the open bar, the lack of a buffet that was in the offer we accepted, and the fact that we tried to contact the hotel about these but did not receive a response. We were swiftly contacted by the hotel, and they explained the situation and were apologetic about our experience. They also mentioned they took steps that these things won't happen again. I spent one night at the Yeatman in Porto. The building is amazing, with beautiful views of the river and city; the rooms (a bit too warm in our case) are spacious with comfortable beds and a private terrace; the bathrooms have walk-in showers with great pressure and baths; the reception area and living rooms are cosy and elegant. Everything looks very well maintained (although some the toilets at the reception floor smelt a bit) and the decorative tiles here and there and the maps on the walls are adorable. The spa includes a steam room, sauna, jacuzzi (although colder water than expected), a peaceful shower circuit (my favourite), warm "beds", and treatments, which I didn't take. There's a well equipped gym and indoor and outdoor pool. Being December, I only swam indoors. It was quiet and big enough to swim. I used the complimentary lockers and showers in this area. Everything was clean and the staff at the spa was really helpful and kind. There's a nice selection of drinks at the bar and we sat at the hotel terrace, enjoying the good weather and views. The breakfast was delicious. There was a range of fruit, yoghurt, bakery, seeds, juice, bread, charcuterie, infusions, and warm options. The hotel is right by the WOW district, which is great to go out for food and/or drinks. However, don't expect to be by the city centre. It is a nicely secluded place. We stayed here 3 nights. Overall we enjoyed but there are things to watch out for. Location is fantastic for the view across the city and I would recommend the upgrade to a room with a terrace view. Expect to have to get taxi etc. go go places in city. When you book direct with hotel you get breakfast, parking etc. included in rate, those will add up as cost extra so consider if the direct rate is actually better after extras. Breakfast is not great, cook breakfast options are weak, coffee is only out of a Nespresso pod machine etc. not 5 star level. Other eating options beyond the Michelin restaurant are not good, almost like they put all effort into that and the others are not then improved. We were delighted to celebrate our anniversary here, and the young lady who checked us in and showed us our room was incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and made us feel right at home. Had a lovely stay at the Yeatman Hotel. The property has perfectly manicured lawns and landscape. The view is a 10/10 overlooking the old city, bridge and river. I had dinner on the casual terrace for the sunset and evening lights as it was breathtaking. Unfortunately the service was much to be desired on this evening. I had a cheese plate and bread with wine for my starter. The service was so poor that I choose to end my meal at this point. The morning breakfast was wonderful with amazing staff and service. The hotel also has a large spa with many options including both a treatment and a port wine tasting! There are indoor and outdoor pools. What can I say, everything about this hotel is absolutely perfect. The welcome we received upon check-in, the location of the hotel, the hotel amenities and the overall service is absolutely amazing. There are a few restaurants within the hotel, the one on the 9th floor with outdoor seating has amazing fusion food. The soft shell crab in a bun is delicious and I totally recommend it. They also have really nice cocktails. The room was spacious, nice and clean, with an amazing view of the river. There is a detail that was new for me, but I loved it: a pillow menu. They have over 10 types of pillows and you can choose which one is your preference. The bed was nice and big, and the mattress was quite comfortable, for a change! The Spa is amazing with plenty of options: Turkish bath, sauna, roman bath, jacuzzi, etc. The hotel is situated close to the Port Wine cellars, and it is by the river, so it is easy to walk down. The hotel also has a partnership with 7 different museums close by, that are part of the World of Wine (WoW) experience. From a nice wine tasting, to a walk along the river, everything is close by. While in Porto, The Yeatman as highly recommended for drinks and dinner on the terrace overlooking the city and the river. The view did not disappoint, and the food was good—not great—but satisfactory (we ordered from the outdoor bar menu.) The service, however, was subpar. It’s one thing for one thing to be forgotten, but when WE were literally forgotten, having to ask multiple times for what we had ordered, it really altered the mood. Nothing makes service more disappointing than when it is poorly performed in an otherwise 5-star context with 5-star prices. The service at any taverna in Porto outdoes The Yeatman. Restaurants that earn Michelin 2-Stars are going to be good, no matter what...and The Yeatman's entry definitely earned theirs. There might have been 15 courses in this meal! Even though each is small, they add up...by the end, we were both fulfilled and amazed. As you might expect, the presentation of each course is a show unto itself. The menu was extremely creative and innovative, and of course the wine pairings were perfectly synchronized. The service was immaculate. We even got invited back into the kitchen for a brief tour, and met Head Chef Ricardo Costa...who has earned both Michelin 1 and 2 stars in multiple locations. The executive chef earned two Michelin stars for their signature restaurant and heads all cuisine in the hotel. The Yeatman definitely cares about hospitality and guest satisfaction, so for the staff alone I would award the hotel 5 stars. The rooms are a bit older and show their age, so some upgrades might be appreciated, such as more electronic outlets and refreshed carpet (our suite had some stains on the floor). Views are breathtaking and morning breakfast was lovely, though not very exciting and mostly standard cuisine (would have enjoyed more Portuguese food). Unfortunately the only reason I cannot award a perfect score is because my partner had a bad incident of food poisoning that ruined an entire day of our trip. The hotel was extremely gracious and kind to us and took care of it the best they could. I would recommend that when dining at the hotel, to always ask how the food is prepared so you can understand all ingredients and possible dietary risk. Another thing to note is that it appears that the gym was recently updated and the treadmills and equipment are refreshed since the old reviews. I am very serious about maintaining my exercise routine and found the facilities to be excellent. Another bonus is that the Yeatman is part of the WOW (World of Wine) entertainment area so it is quite convenient if you’re on holiday with family or children and need activities within walking distance. Taylor Wine is also next door and an easy place to visit for a port tasting in the early afternoon. We stayed at The Yeatman for our honeymoon. The hotel is beautiful, our terrace had an amazing view and the pool was divine. They also kept the hotel very clean. Months ago, I reached out about having a dinner on our terrace for our last night and was so looking forward to it. I’m a vegetarian and made sure they were aware. Unfortunately, the dinner was incredibly disappointing for me (so much so that they took it off the bill once I told them what the 3 courses were… a couple pieces of vegetables). My husband said his meal with delicious and he had large bowls of rice and potatoes with his meat so I’m not sure why mine just a couple of pieces of veggies. All we could do was laugh at the difference between our meals We also found dead spiders in our room and there was long black hair on the carpet, which was not ours, as well as some hair in the bathroom that was never cleaned The hotel was so beautiful but for the price, I’m not sure if we would be back. Best meal I've ever had. The attention to detail was amazing. Everything, including the silverware choices, were well planned and superbly executed. I really can't say enough about how great this place is. From the premeal snacks, to the main courses, to the surprise dessert dishes...everything was fantastic. While they offered suggested wine pairings, they also accommodated purchasing wine by the glass or bottle. They even invited us into the kitchen for one of the courses. This place definitely earned their Michelin stars and should be viewed as a benchmark for what a perfect restaurant should be like. The ambience is almost perfect, in that night there was 2 musicians playing some "bossa nova" music, making some good vibes in the air. Staff is trained very, very baldy or not at all. Took more than 10min for a beer sometimes. Ordered a 1960 Vintage Port and the waiter simply crumbled half of the cork into the bootle. The hotel is a very nice, high end hotel, but it is built into the side of a hill and it has moisture issues in the rooms. It smells like a wet basement. The was true for the 3 rooms I checked on the 4th floor. It was very annoying and made it difficult to breathe. The bed sagged in the middle. It needs a new mattress. Great view as I said, comfortable bed, spacious room. Shower is unsafe. 1 star. I got stuck inside because the door closes so tight it cannot be opened by the small coin sized knob. Funny yes, but sadly true. 5 stars for the bellman and front staff 1 for other staff. I called 6 times for fresh towels and pillows our first night. Finally one hour later received them. I sent an email which was never answered. I just would expect better service from this quality hotel. No reply to an email is unacceptable in my opinion. Truly a unique experience. You start off in the lobby with a couple of small bites before being taken to the kitchen to meet the chefs and enjoy a course with them. This is followed by 8 courses all delicious and creative. The ingredients are excellent and some of the combinations quirky but they all work well. The staff are fantastic, well informed and easy to get on with. I’d recommend doing the first seating at 6:30pm as that way you’re most likely to get a table overlooking some amazing views of Porto. It’s of course pricey at €450-500 for 2 people but I genuinely feel that such an experience is very tough to find elsewhere and worth doing at least once. I just had a slice of the heavenly taste of The Yeatman by attending a Thursday wine dinner there with Quinta do Gradil wines as the featured vintner. The dinner and experience were divine, start to finish. The views, the conversation, the food, and the wine were all memorable and while the dinner was not cheap, it was a deal compared to similar experiences elsewhere. I'm also super grateful for the attention to detail on my food preferences. I attended this dinner solo and it could have been isolating, instead I was invited to the wine host's table and met so many lovely individuals, including a fantastic couple from Britain with whom I hope to stay in touch. The Yeatman wine director (thanks, Elisabeth) then invited us back to see the 2-Michelin star kitchen operation and that was such a fascinating bonus! Truly, it was a perfect night and I'm already looking forward to returning to Porto and finding an excuse to stay at The Yeatman. We only stayed overnight due to a mess at the airport leading to an unscheduled night in Porto, and our desire for a top shelf experience to offset that. Based on 10.5 hours in the hotel, excellent service, amazing room, great bed, good extras. Rooms on floor one have a literal ten minute walk inc 2 X lifts to get to the main bar / reception/ spa would be only consideration. Pricey but worth it. Would book again (and book the flash restaurant in advance). My two friends and I came for dinner with the wine pairing. We made the mistake of walking to dinner up a very steep incline and showed up to our reservation out of breath and sweating. The staff were very kind to accommodate us with scented towels and each of the dishes were beautiful and delicious. The view from the hotel was also spectacular. All in all, a great experience. The hotel is large but you feel right at home wandering between the spa area and the pool and lounge areas especially the cigar room. Absolutely perfect experience. The waiting staff was perfectly professionnal and friendly and the food was unbelievably good. It is a beautiful hotel with excellent grounds. It is not near the city center of Porto. It is located on the side of the river near the port houses, which is fun. Very disappointed at the price - quality ratio. We stayed in a standard double bedroom for 2 nights at a cost of about 300 euros per night (no breakfast included). Views are stunning and the hotel is extremely well decorated, but they have really missed a few basics and that is not okay for an upscale 5 star hotel. Shortlist of things that went wrong: - our key cards were not activated properly - the room was not ready for us when we arrived (always a nice touch to try and have the room ready an hour or two before check in time) - there was no daily replacement of coffees/teas in the bedroom (really unheard of in a 5 star hotel!!) - got given the wrong pillow when ordering from the pillow menu These mistakes made the experience feel less luxurious and honestly just as if I was staying in a much cheaper hotel. This review is for the Yeatman Gastronomic Experience. We treated ourselves to the gastronomic experience at the restaurant in the Yeatman hotel. The food was an artistic expression of chef Costa and absolutely sublime. The service was well choreographed as if it was a ballet. The experience starts with a cocktail in their lounge. They move you into the kitchen at a chef’s table for a second appetizer course where you can see Chef Costa and his crew in action. Such a nice touch to include as part of the experience! We then moved to the dining room - where we were lucky enough to be seated in the private room with an unobstructed view of the old city of Porto. If you’re able, splurge on the Yeatman wine pairing. We had one great dish after another. Our friends that we were with regaled our time at the Yeatman as the best dining experience ever. I visit it last week for cocktails during sunset. I asked for a straw for my gin tonic, and after using it, I realized it wasn't a straw, but pasta. I got panic as I am coeliac! I said it to the waiter and he told me he was going to speak with the manager. After waiting a long time, no one came to talk to me, I went inside looking for the manager. He told me he already know what happened, and that as they are a green hotel, they brought me pasta. I explained to him that they can't put at risk people life because they are green. He didn't show any empathy and when I asked to him for a complaint form, he told me to go to reception and he left me walking around the hotel for finding it. @ reception they showed some more empathy, even though far away for what you aspect. I was clearly shocked, no one got worried to reserve us a taxi to go back to city. During our stay in Oporto, even the smallest cafè in the city, took attention of allergies of the food/drinks served. I got heavily stomach sick for that mistake, and back to my country lot of analysis to do for them. In 1 week, no one called me from the hotel asking me how I was. I visited only the spa over a weekend. I booked the day before my appointment and had no issue finding availability. I highly recommend this to visitors exploring the area as it is the perfect relaxation while still getting to see the city. I did a barrel bath and a scrub (similar to a massage). The hotel is beautiful and very well located. The rooms are a great size, and the staff are lovely and helpful. We spent 4 nights here and ended up spending most of our time here, eating in the evening in the bar and going to the pool etc as it is such a relaxing place to spend your time! The hotel with the best view towards the old town of Porto. We have a room with a huge terrace where one could enjoy the beautiful view of Douro and the old town. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet has a wide fresh choice. 2 minutes walk to World of Wine, 5 minutes to the riverside and about 15 minutes to the old town, which is on the other side of Douro. As it was in Jan, we could only swim indoor, the pool is very well built, swimming with a beautiful view of the old town and river is plainly deluxe !!Unfortunately, the 2 stars gastronomic restaurant is closed for its annual holiday. I booked a reservation for dinner and was denied entry because my husband and I had brought along our 7 month old. The staff claimed that in our confirmation email it stated children under 6 are not allowed, however it doesn't state that anywhere, it only says children under 12 might prefer the more casual restaurant. I can respect a restaurant not allowing young children, but this should be made clear upfront instead of refusing someone service once they arrive. Very poor customer service. Amazing experience again (it was our third time dining here)! The tasting menu is wonderful and the service faultless. We felt that the team had really pulled out all the stops to make our evening special. Every course was delightful and the wines were very well paired. We thought they were very generous with the wines too, often coming round with top ups if we finished while still on the relevant course. This review is for the bar on the terrace (Dick’s Bar and Bistro). The view is great…the drinks/cocktails are (to put it mildly) a joke. My husband and I both ordered port focused cocktails and what we got was watered down tonic with ice and and a garnish. You would think from the menu description these drinks would have flavor. My husband’s drink should have included port, bourbon, bitters and mint. I ordered a cocktail that was supposed to include port, coconut liquor, pineapple, hazelnut, passion fruit, and apricot. We both kept sipping each other’s drinks…trying to find anything other than tonic, water, and ice! This is also coming from someone who prefers weak cocktails…so for me to taste nothing but tonic and water is saying something. To top it off, these “tonic water cocktails” were €16 and the service was beyond slow (there was only a handful of people on the terrace and it took over 30 minutes for our drinks to arrive). Overall very beautiful hotel overlooking the whole city. View from the room was amazing. It was really picture-perfect. Massive terrace, panoramic windows, clean room, very comfortable bed (duvet was quite strange though and not that comfortable. Seems like 2 sheets just wrapped the duvet and were not really "closed" on it, what didnt make me feel good during the covid times). One of the best breakfasts I ever had with a great selection of pretty much anything you can want for breakfast. The place is really beautiful. At the same time spa was overpriced in our opinion (though still a great experience), restaurant Orangerie as well (for Porto levels). Which still would be ok if food would match. It was nice and interesting, but somehow lacked the "wow" factor. Thing that might have disappointed me though was the service. It was always very polite and all, but at the same time often distant and cold. Was a bit of a contrast to all the friendliness we have experienced in Porto so far. Its like if the staff was instructed to be robot-like - polite but without many emotions. (we loved our service at spa at the same time, this comment is not directed to spa personnel). Dinner at the gastronomic restaurant in the yeatman hotel was a nice experience, unfortunately not more than nice. The menu started in the lobby with the first few courses, followed by a sneak peek into the kitchen where we had our final amuse-bouche. So far the service was friendly, a bit hectic and kind of uncoordinated however. The remaining courses were served at the table with a nice view over porto in a big room with poor acustics. The food lacked of salt, the compositions were standard and the chef seemed to served cround pleaser rather than innovative 2 michelin star compositions. This continued throughout the menu. I would not come back given the price for 2 people including tip was 550€. This review is for the lunch on the terrace, us along with the 2 tables next to us. Service was some of the worst we’ve ever witnessed. For us, we ordered two plates, side of salad, sparkling water. They served us one plate, no utensils, no water, and forgot about the other plate. We then proceeded to tell the waiter, 10min go by, still no utensils, water or our other plate!!! Same thing with the table next to us, more than 20min to get their bottle of wine and water, there are only 6 tables here outside too! We stayed at Yetman for 2 nights and we fell in love with the property. Located in Gaia, on the other side of Porto this hotel offers an amazing view over Douro river to all its visitor and rooms. Our rooms was very spacious, very well decorated and the bed was simply on the comfiest beds I ever slept in. Breakfast was delicious, a buffet with huge variety of options available.We had dinner at the restaurant and I must say food was simply divine. Swimming pool has a very interesting shape and it is turned towards the river which is amazing: you can literately enjoy a drink at sunset contemplating the river. The hotel itself is a beautiful construction and the staff was very king and ready to help you with anything you might need. The hotel is an ode to wine , with an amazing Vinothérapie Spa by Caudalie, a decanter shaped swimming pool and vases filled with corks cementing the hotel and regular exhibits around the property related to Port wine. You can’t finish your stay at Yeatman without getting a sense ofthe Gastronomic experiences at the many restaurants in the Yeatman, whether it is at their Michelin restaurant, Orangerie, or the Bistro Bar. TLDR: Exquisite! We were greated by the friendly and professional staff and taken to our first seating with piano music playing in the background. Here we had the first couple of snacks and a glass of wine. Next we were leaded to our table in their restaurant where we had a stunning view over the river and the bridge. I went for a drinks on the terrace at the Yeatman. What a great experience! Yep, it's not cheap, but the service is outstanding, you are made to feel really special regardless of who you are, what you're wearing etc. The views of Porto are stunning and they have a good food and drink selection. Oddly my favourite part was talking to the Falconry handler (yes, they really do have two full time birds of prey to ward off the seaguls from stealing your food/pooping on you). The lady was so lovely and we enjoyed the insight she gave us into the birds. Top place, live a little and get yourself a drink here! One of the most incredible places I’ve stayed in my life. A sanctuary above the hustle and bustle of Porto. The views, especially over a sunset dinner, are to die for. If visiting the city treat yourself and stay here for even just one night, and be sure to take a dip in the infinity pool! For wine lovers and gourmets there is no way around this place. The amenities are also really good with lots of activities to choose from. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. My few concerns and critics have been received in the most professional and respectful way. The rooms are tasteful and big for the price. The more rustic design is not for me, but that is personal taste. We spent there 5 nights as family. Fantastic view over Porto. Everything was nice and perfect excepted the Sunday morning at the breakfast: the hotel was then almost fully booked (in opposition to the rest of our stay), and it was very chaotic and it took quite a long time to get something to drink or to eat. Had a great experience at The Yeatman. If you can request a table with a view near the window. Located inside a hotel, it's a very elegant restaurant with top notch service. It's a tasting menu but they will accommodate your requests and will note any diet restrictions you sent in advance. That said, if you are a picky eater you probably won't enjoy the experience that much. It's a lot of food and very rich. As you might expect in the Douro, there is also a suggested wine pairing and the sommelier was also happy to make recommendations for by the glass or by the bottle wines and they had some more inexpensive options. 7 of us Came here for lunch, rude staff (especially the hostess) and horrible service. They forgot 2 of our orders and then added extra to the bill. The only good thing about the restaurant is the waiter with the shaved head and glasses. The rest are incompetent at best. Bar menu was on par with Burger King. Purely based on experience I would give this a one or two star. We arrived at 315pm as a group of 7 and the host couldn’t be more unwelcoming. The terrace was close to empty with at least 15 tables available. Despite this the host made it out that it would be difficult to fit our group in. We were sat in the sun and asked if the umbrellas could be opened which again was an ordeal and in fact we’re told it was broken so couldn’t be. The waiter kindly moved us to another area as he noticed we had children and they really needed the shade. When we ordered they were able to accommodate my gluten allergy and my friends egg and dairy allergy but again the staff were not at all friendly. Once we almost finished our meal my other friend was still waiting in his sandwich and when we asked about it with the waitress we ordered from she didn’t say oh sorry we kissed it or anything like that instead she just said well what did you order and walked away. When the sandwich eventually arrived long after we all finished again there was no apology. The view is brilliant from this spot but sadly spoiled by all the construction noise and of course the sour faces of all the staff. At most come for the view but I would leave right after and not bother dealing with the terrible service. I will not be back. I brought my fiancé here for her birthday, and let me just say that the Yeatman did not disappoint. The tasting menu, along with the wine selection was phenomenal are well worth it. The menu was a celebration of Portuguese cuisine with several foreign twists, paying homage to the trading history of Portugal. The food highlighted the subtle flavours of each ingredient brilliantly. It also has to be said that the suckling pig is the best pork I've ever had in my life. Hands down. The space is huge and somewhat formal though the service was fun and impeccable. Lovely room, comfortable bed, indoor and outdoor infinity pools. Excellent service, including in the bars and restaurants. Don't always pick up the phone, but very accommodating once you get through to someone. My parents-in-law had one of there accessible rooms, with a slightly tweaked bathroom, which was excellent. Remember that you need to book if you want to eat at The Restaurant or the Orangerie. There is some food available at the main bar though, if there are no spaces in the restaurants. We have been to a wine dinner, as we were offered a voucher to a Yeatman Event. In general the food was good, and so was the wine, but in my opinion, it is not worth 90€/person... and all these wine dinners are on thursdays, so people who have to work on the next day do not enjoy as they could! Staff very friendly and helpful. Very family friendly with room for kids to hang out in during the day. View of the river and bridge is wonderful. The Yeatman is on the Gaia side of the river, so you face Porto. It’s a short walk (though very hilly) to Porto or all downhill to the tasting rooms along the water. The hotel is large - the walk to the new section involves two elevators. Not a big deal, good way to get steps in. Nice wine based decor throughout the hotel. The rooms are also quite spacious. I was surprised that there was not a coffee maker in the room. I liked the Caudalie products in the bathroom. Good water pressure in the shower. Our package included breakfast. There were eggs, breakfast meats, bread options, charcuterie choices, juices, and fruit and pastries. They had a sweetbread with coconut that was delicious. Service was great throughout. Everything just as nice as possible. Naturally... Expensive as a 2 stars restaurant. The staff makes you feel welcome and is very helpful friendly and competent . We had a very nice place near the window with an amazing view over the Douro's Valley and Porto's Ribeira. Food? No not food! An explosion of different tastes. They served small portions but 11 times and some in two or three parts (at least 17 different tastes). I don't even count my special birthday cake! Thank you guys. What a tasteful experience! We really enjoyed our meal and the kindness of the employees. The squid texture was absolutely amazing. It was great to find the typical portuguese flavors like the grilled chicken piri piri in such a form. Very pleasant view of Oporto. The only downside is the time, yet this is the normal expected for fine dinning experiences. Sometimes the dish explanation was performed too fast and even tough it was in our mother language, we could not understand all. It seemed like the waiter had memorized a text prior to an oral exam. We went to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. We booked in advance and informed them about our restrictions: one of us is vegan and the other vegetarian. The restaurant shares the same location with the hotel, right at the heart of Gaia's Port wine cellars district. All the dishes were carefully and flawlessly prepared. The combination of flavours were well thought of and we especially liked the fact that we were served a lot of amuse-bouches and treats. The portions were plentiful without being overwhelming. The service was impeccable and is up to the standard of a 2* Michelin. The prices are expensive for Portuguese standards. I had the tasting menu and also the wine tasting to accompany the food. I was somewhat skeptical, but it was absolutely amazing. Food was fantastic, service was perfect and the wine was delightful. My personal highlight was Fererando who is in charge of the wine experience. The hotel has a little wine shop with a nice selection of wines. Most important Ferando is a wonderful passionate wine professional. He is knows a lot about local and other Portuguese wines. As luck has it the first bottle was faulty and oxidised, the second one hat cork. The third one was fine. All changed in the utmost wonderful professional manner. The best food, wine and service I've experienced ever! Truly outstanding. Travelling throughout the world I have been lucky to have experienced many fine dining experiences and stayed in some of the most luxurious hotels. This beats them all and the service is so effortlessly perfect you really feel like you are the most important guest in the hotel. The views are amazing and the hotel rooms all look out to the beautiful old town and the Douro valley. If you come to Porto then you have to stay here for a wholly memorable experience of everything porto has to offer. A huge thank you to all the fantastic team at The Yeatman! This hotel is incredible. The staff is simply amazing. They we above and beyond every expectation. My 8 year old had a birthday while we were staying there. They made him feel like the king of a castle. He cried when we checked out! The rooms are spacious, clean and the views are breathtaking. The pools are lovely. The very best thing about The Yeatman is the view you get of Porto across the from your room and terrace -- I think every room has one. Otherwise, the hotel does not live up to what I expected and is only above average in its restaurant and service. The rooms are a nice size, but aren't all that "traveler friendly" -- e.g., no drawers to store your clothes. I thought the Michelin starred restaurant was very disappointing and chose to eat in local restaurants riverside for Portuguese cuisine. The walk from my room to the elevators was the length of 3 football fields. The gardens are lovely and the pool very nice, but the gym was disappointing. I didn't take advantage of the spa facilities. The staff was friendly, but clearly a training staff, both very young and inexperienced.
