  An amazingly friendly, traditional restaurant, with beautifully cooked, good, quality food. If we’re ever in Porto again we will definitely return.   Casa Dias is a pretty local restaurant in a very touristy area. They certainly cater to tourists but they also deliver a great local menu at good prices.   I really loved the warm, simple, authentic atmosphere and delicious food from this restaurant. So much so, I returned a second night and ordered the same main course, Grilled Sardines. The tomato salad to start looked simple but was surprisingly tasty! The shrimp cake appetizer was crispy and delicious and the potatoes that accompanied the grilled fish mains were so tasty. Everything was seasoned extremely well. It is priced very reasonably and was a great find in a city with so many choices. I would eat here again and again.   Grilled sardines, cabbage soup, cod fritters - were executed perfectly. We felt very tempted to come again, the food is soo good. I regret not trying the deserts. Been to multiple places for all these traditional Portuguese dishes and this tiny family owned restaurant is head and shoulders above the competition. Update: we did manage to come again, next day!!! And we got more of these Croquettes de Bacalhau. And the desert! And it was as amazing as the first time. The sea brim (Dorad) was delicious, it was fresh and grilled with care. The bacalhau fritters and calamari rings were top, the best we had during our trip.   I loved my lunch here. While my meal was very "carb-forward" it was exactly what I sought after an intense wine/port class (where, it should be noted, I didn't imbibe most of what was served!). Delicious, light hake fish fillets, incredible rice (like no joke it was SO flavorful) and, yep, fries. I make no apologies and encourage anyone in the area to lunch here.   We did a walking tour in Porto on our last day. It finished up just across the river. We asked our guide for a recommendation for a typical Portuguese place, she sent us to Casa Dias. We really enjoyed our meal here. The lady that served us was really friendly and spoke great English. As it was our last meal we endulged ourselves and ordered 3 meals for 2 people. We had the Salmon, Hake and Pork Chops with garlic. The portion size was great and all tasted lovely. We also got a bottle of Vino Verde, a dessert and 2 Ginja liquors. The bill was so reasonable at €60 for all that food. It was a lovely last meal in Porto, I would have no hesitation visiting again.   We already visited this little family owned and authentic restaurant last year. The location itself is nothing special or extraordinary fancy. But the food is excellent and the spirit of the small young family makes it something special. This time we visited the restaurant with a group of people we got to know at a port wine tour. Because of that we were - lets say a little bit frisky. The owners were calm and friendly and offer a great service to us. They made it to a wonderful closing of the day.
