  Beautiful little spot we stumbled upon during our travels. The service and the women working were so kind and accommodating to us with our baby. Prices are affordable. It's not possible to reserve a table in advance, so arrive early as there are few tables. Great surprise. The reviews speak for themselves.   We had a great lunch this afternoon at Cozinha do Ci. A small cozy restaurant on the other side of the Luís bridge. We ordered the Bochechas de Porco (Pork beefcheeks) and the meat was very juicy and tender and went well with the red wine reduction sauce. The salad dressing was subtile and very tasteful. The service was great. Our waitress was really nice and friendly. You can tell this food was made by people with love for food. What a great experience. I highly recommend a visit here.   This was our final stop in the Porto area and we are SO happy to have experienced it! So cozy! I feel bad for all the people who never make the few steps from the River front it takes to have this kind of experience. The level of passion for the service and the food was clearly evident! Our family of four did end up ordering most of the menu but everything was SO well done I’m not sure why anyone wouldn’t want to try everything. And even with all the food we ordered it was still one of the smallest tabs we’ve had in Portugal. I would have felt guilty having such a good me so inexpensively so we left what we felt it was worth, not what final bill asked for. We tried - and loved - the white sangria, the homemade pate, the croquantes, and the pork cheek!   A little gem of a restaurant in an area of Porto where I feel that location too often takes priority over quality and authenticity. The restaurant has just sixteen covers and a short menu. Owners are welcoming and helpful. I started with homemade fish pate, then chose pork cheeks with fries and salad - the cheeks were meltingly tender, fries crisp and well seasoned, the salad was generous and super fresh. With a set cream dessert, two glasses of wine and a coffee, my bill came to 28 euros.   One of our favorite meals in Porto. We were so lucky to find this gem after a port wine tour/tasting in Gaia. It’s about a block off of the terrible, touristy waterfront and quite small, but the menu - also small but balanced and diverse - is wonderful. None of us spoke Portuguese well, but the staff were extremely welcoming and kind. The fried green beans, house pate, and meat ball starters were all awesome, as were the pork cheeks and cod cake mains. Honestly, everything we had was delicious from wine to dessert.   This restaurant was located close to our Airbnb, and after being quite exhausted by our walk around town, we decided to check this out. It was absolutely fantastic, we ordered the padronas and the meatballs for starters, both really delicious. For mains we ordered pork cheeks and codfish fritters.   Rarely have I seen a restaurant rated 5/5 on Google but I can understand why. The food was fantastic, very good service and reasonably priced. Menu is relatively limited but all our choices were excellent. Padron peppers and chorizo starters (the chorizo you can cook yourself!), and then cod fritters and pork cheeks in port sauce for main courses. All highly recommended. Well worth a visit.   Don't be distracted by a restaurant that offers port tastings. Across the street in Gaia is a small family-owned Portuguese restaurant worth visiting. After stopping in for lunch on a Thursday in August, here's my experience: 1) Food: I ordered the Portuguese cabbage soup and the "ovos rotos" with a Coca-Cola. Each dish was delicious and fresh tasting. The ovos rotos comes out with a runny egg and fried peppers and mushrooms on perfectly fried French fries. So tasty! 2) Price: My entire bill came to 13 Euros for a soup, main dish and a soda. 3) Space: It's tiny with just a few seats, but it's quaint. By the front, there's a world map with pins in it representing where guests are visiting from. 4) Service: When I dined here, there was a server and a cook in an open kitchen.   Cozinha da Ci is one of the best restaurants I’ve been to in Portugal! As a vegetarian, it’s hard to find places where I can get a “typical Portuguese meal” and actually have a full meal, complete with a good, unprocessed protein. The eggs with mushrooms & potatoes was generous & delicious- I hadn’t eaten all day after traveling from Lisboa, and I decided on this place after browsing options. After the lime mousse, which was a perfect ending on a warm, humid evening, I left on cloud 9.! I’m very appreciative of the delicious, home-made food, the absolutely amazing sangria (made like I make it, which is rare!), and the amazing women who make the magic happen🙏 I’ll be back for sure!   My husband and I had lunch here recently and we are so glad that we did. The women who run this establishment are so warm and the food was great. I had a medical emergency while I was there and they took very good care of me which is something I will always remember and be thankful for.   In a word, delicious. After a disappointing experience at the WOW development up the road we popped in here.   Amazing little restaurant tucked away off a side street from all of the tourist traps. Ci was a wonderful host and accommodated our table 5 well. We were lucky to get in when we did; 3 other groups of people had to be turned away after us because the restaurant was full! The food was excellent both in presentation and quality. We felt like we’d discovered a special place and were very grateful for our evening dining here. Highly recommend!   Hidden gem just a bit away from the hustle and bustle. The menu is small but the homemade dishes are thoughtful and delicious...service was genuine and very kind.   Just came from an excellent dinner! We had all Entradas, pork cheek in red wine reduction with potatoes and salad (incredibly tender meat, really WOW!), spanish eggs with grilled mushrooms and peppers, very fine home made cake with caramele few beers and a coffee. I do recommend all our selection. Chef and owner sooooo nice! The little restaurant (seats 12 maybe) was full 30 minutes after opening. A grand opening to our Camino experience! Thank you!!   Intimate restaurant in good location with excellent service. We ordered Peixinhos da Horta, Chouriço Assado, and Batata Frita. The sausage is a must try while in Portugal; a very authentic dish cooked with fire on the table. The Batata Frita (Fries) were among the best we have ever had- actually made from cut potatoes, with a garlic and herb mayo. Everything else on the menu from the table next to us looked great, and the prices are affordable. Very recommendable!!   A beautiful and quiet little family-run restaurant, not too far off the busy Gaia Port House waterfront. Great spot for a quiet and intimate lunch, snack and/ or drink. Great service and amazing in-house, authentic, local food, for very reasonable prices. And don’t let the home-made aesthetic of the cheesecake fool you - it was the best cheesecake I’ve ever had in my life!   Best place we have eaten in Porto. Wonderful home cooked Portuguese food. Don't be put off by the small menu, this is an advantage as everything on it is perfectly cooked. We had the amazing wine for 3 euros a glass. This restaurant is so much better than all the tourist ones on the river but is only a 100m from the riverfront.
