  Lacking in quality, vibrancy and atmosphere. Architecturally they’ve done a wonderful job on many parts of the structure of the development but the spacial use and journey for the visitor is completely uninteresting and dull. You would expect a vibrant celebration of contemporary and traditional culture around every corner but instead to get a series some good and some very bad interior rooms devoid of character and paywall exhibitions. Hence the place is empty giving suggesting this project might be a white elephant. If contemporary informal craft markets, some dancing and live music around every corner and a full calendar of free daily activities were introduced, over time it may become a place to consider for locals on weekends that would further increase its general appeal and quality businesses on offer. Its festivals for beer and other items do well however it’s that vibe that one should expect in a development like this at all times of the day and year. Perhaps a trip by the operators to other vibrant projects around the world may provide some inspiration… such as The Waterfront in Cape Town or Brick Lane of London or the Distillery District of Toronto or The Grounds of Alexandria in Sydney (Traduzido pelo Google) Falta de qualidade, vibração e atmosfera.   We were curious about WOW but ended up a bit disappointed. Don't get me wrong, the place is beautifully furnished and the architecture is great. There was clearly a boatload of money poured in his place - 107M€ according to an information board. Shame then that on a Saturday afternoon it was all so empty and lifeless. Empty spaces, empty stores and probably empty museums too, so much that we weren't inspired at all to visit any of the of them. The price tag sealed the deal - 20€ for EACH museum ticket. To put things in perspective the Louvre museum in Paris is charging 23€. I understand the mechanics of gentrification but for the first time ever in Porto I clearly felt this place wasn't at all made with us locals in mind.   So much to see, do, and eat!   I was expecting something much better honestly. So, not Wow! I’d say it’s more of a tourist trap than anything else. You have to pay for every experience separately and the shopping area was absolutely empty!! We had lunch at the Pip restaurant and they automatically added a 10% tip to the bill.   This is am must go in Porto. A museum complex with 5 different experiences and some great restaurants. Don't miss the Wine Museum - it was a highlight of our trip the first time. So good that we came back a year later. The Rosé museum (Pink Palace) and the Chocolate Experience were also great. The restaurant we tried was the T&C - awesome food.   The complex of museums, shops and few restaurants are well done. When we went on Tuesday in March mid to early afternoon the place was a ghost town. Had the chocolate, wine and Porto history museum pretty much to ourselves. The wine tasting with three wines (white, red, port) included in the wine museum was nice.   I went in to take the WSET course at the Wine School with Diego, not only was he absolutely amazing and super knowledgeable about everything that we asked about the place was also absolutely beautiful!!! I didn't have the opportunity to go into the museum yet but i was in the building and it was already super pretty on the outside, plus i plan to comeback to visit because I've hear great things about it!!   This was a posh museum type atmosphere. There is no guide so, you walk through at your own pace. There are some interactive areas such as the smelling stations. We an opportunity to taste some wines with someone to guide us through what to look for in each wine. A wine tour is not the only thing that is offered. There are tours for chocolate making, the history of corks and a couple of others. There are gift shops for each and a little cafe.   Great place with a bunch of private museums here. I ended up at the wine experience , cork, and pink. Both the wine and cork were pretty informative and thoroughly enjoyable. Wine tasting was more designed for amateurs but I really enjoyed all other aspects of the museum. Pink museum is more insta friendly for females but still decent with its 5 wines to sample.   Much more in-depth than the average museum of this type. Give yourself plenty of time unless you just want to race through to the tasting - which I wouldn't recommend.   This is a great destination when you're exploring Gaia. Just walk along the river heading west then go uphill before you get to the cable car terminal. I visited several times during my Porto stay and had wine on the wide terrace. Amazing views of Porto. Nice staff at the cafe. The souvenir shops are upscale. I didn't do any of the tours or museums.   It’s expensive but you do get a lot of information from the exhibits if you know absolutely nothing about wine. Also, there is good information of the Portuguese wine, of course. If you do have knowledge about wine, then probably skip this since it might be elemental. I visited both The World of Wine and Planet Cork with the duo entry. Everything is well explained with interactive exhibits which are a modern way to visit a “museum”. The buildings are modern with great facilities. I think most people go the restaurants and the views (which are fantastic) since both museums were quite empty. At the end of the wine visit you get a 2 wine tasting of the white and a ruby porto (fortified wine). If its a rainy day in Porto, then this would be great to stay out of the wet weather.   We had a lovely time here. We went to the pink palace and the chocolate museum. It was the off season so we were almost alone 😲 which meant we could talk a lot with the staff.   We want to to buy some local Port wine from Porto to take home in the last day. Driving around and found this amazing place across the bridge, WOW Porto. The service was fantastic and girls provided me with the history and great suggestion which one to buy. There are other gift shop like cork material gifts and restaurant with stunning view of Porto.   Gorgeous place! The "WOW Experience" is the main attraction there, A bit pricey, but I learned so much about wine, and got a great wine tasting at the end. You can walk around for free, though, it's so beautiful and you get a stunning view, especially during sunset. Stores, bars, restaurants, and other museum options (all wine related, obviously). It's a curious and interesting place, but I have the feeling that it still needs to be further developed to have more life and become a reference point.   Porto culture at it's finest, the place is huge (compared to others in Porto) its got mini shops, wine tasting, event spaces, coffee shops, restaurants, terraces, bars and best of all, excellent service. The quality of food though, is surprisingly mediocre, the only thing stopping it from a full score which can be easily rectified if the owners are serious. But most importantly I hope they appreciate thier staff for thier hard work.   I went to the wine museum. My experience was amazing. I was surprised by how much information I gained about wine and the structure of the museum was very well thought of. I was surprised by the interior artwork. The wine tasting 😋 was delightful as the man explained about wine with so much passion, you could feel how knowledgeable he was and even the people in the shop. I visited the cork shop out of curiosity and the woman explained to me about the cork products everything was amazing she was so nice and encouraged me to visit the cork museum.   As well as the cultural quarter with Wine cave, Chocolate Factory and shops etc., the plaza at WOW also give some of the best views of Porto below. Themed event throughout the year including Christmas Tree and giant Easter Egg installations. Very welcoming place to eat and drink. We enjoyed a few beers on the plaza all at a very reasonable cost for such a unique place.   What a great place! I did the Wine exhibit and I wish I would have went earlier on my trip. I would have gone back for the other exhibits. It was so well done, I am super impressed. Anyone into learning about Portugal, wine, cork or have a beautiful restaurant to drink it, go! It’s stunning. They also have a bunch of other restaurants I didn’t try. All the more reason to return.   Cork and chocolate exhibits were interesting and informative. Wine museum was as well except for the end which is what most people anticipate--the tastings. There was a room of approximately 40 -50 people waiting for the tastings. Staff in the adjacent room were taking their time preparing for all to come in. We were tired after spending most of the day at WOW. When i asked an employee what was going on he answered rudely and abruptly to continue waiting in the room. My husband and I decided to forego the "tastings" and walked out. I would suggest that if you cant handle the volume in a timely fashion dont allow people to enter. Additionally, the ticket scanning metal entrances did not function properly. Staff had to help by using their own scanner.   Pretty informative museum. We did the wine experience with tasting and spent about 1-2 hours there, recommended an average of 1.5 hours. There was way too much to read haha...   We decided on visiting 2 museums (Wine Experience and Cork) and it was a fantastic stay. The entire staff there was super friendly. It's a beautiful area they put together with fantastic views on Porto. The wine experience was the best museum I've ever been to. It included every little aspect that is important to produce wine and put a lot of love into every room! In the end, you learn about flavour and aroma profiles in wines and have a tasting of one red, white and port wine.   We had an amazing time at the pink palace (part of the WOW group of museums). It was all about the history of róse wine. The tickets get you 5 different róse wine tastes. Kids get a child slushy at the end of the tour. There are about 7-8 rooms with different themes. The main attraction for the kids is the bubble bath demoed in the video below. 😊 We learned a few things and had a few laughs. Would recommend to anyone with kids and in need of a small break.   Welcome to the mall backrooms. A soulless architectural fever dream. This so-called attraction appears to be little more than a contrived tourist trap with ostentatiously fake interior design. It's a hodgepodge of tacky, counterfeit materials that wouldn't fool anyone with a discerning eye. It's as if they assembled this place from the reject pile of second-rate designers. And as for the ambiance, well, it was as barren as a desert. A soulless concoction that could only be likened to a bleak blend of uncanny backrooms and the most unimaginative virtual environments. But here's the kicker: the staff. One can't help but wonder what purpose they served, meandering aimlessly with no apparent tasks of substance. It's as though they were part of some absurdist performance art. And let's not even talk about the shops within this facade of an attraction. They were as vacant as the enthusiasm I had for this place. My advice is to steer clear of this pretentious, empty shell of an experience. It's far from the sophisticated WOW it purports to be. We visited Origins of Porto(gal), World of Wine and The Chocolate Factory. We finished the day on the pavilion, having dinner with a stunning view over Porto and the Douro. What an experience!   This complex of museums was one of the highlights of my trip to Porto! The area has a quite a few museums and restaurants to pick from. The wine experience was really well done to learn about the wine making process and had great activities and videos. We visited on a Saturday and the museum was surprisingly quiet. Could have spent the whole day here but we only got to two museums in the afternoon due to time. Highly recommend!   While the center looked modern and, in some cases, vibrant, the whole area was oddly empty of people, even during the busiest times and evening. We visited 3 museums, all of which were pretty well decorated and had extensive information about unique topics such as cork, chocolate and the history of Portugal and Porto region, i couldn't help but feel it was too much reading and not interactive enough. The restaurant in the area T&C was pretty alright, with decent food and a beautiful interior. If you're looking to try out some wines and visit some museums, you shoudl consider this place (Traduzido pelo Google) Embora o centro parecesse moderno e, em alguns casos, vibrante, toda a área estava estranhamente vazia de pessoas, mesmo durante os horários de maior movimento e à noite.   I went to WOW OPORTO with the intention of seeing the view, as it was very hot we walked around their large air-conditioned facilities. We were lucky that we found the "Bacelar-Pereira Design House" stall and had a 30-minute pottery session for 15€ per person. It was an amazing experience for both adults and children, too bad they are only around until August 15th, we would love to try it again.   This place is absolutely unbelievable! it's incredibly well thought out, there is so much to see, it's educational, it's fun, it's fantastic really. For my family we bought enough to go to two of the different museums there they have actually five different museums but they're actually not museums per se but experiences like watching how the grapes go through cycles of growth and wine tasting. If you have any younger people in your family, definitely do the Pink Palace.   ‘Wow’ - what a place! The wine museum is an informative and highly interactive exhibit which not only includes the history and production of wine in Portugal but the rest of the world. It’s basically a playground for adults involving all of the senses - my favourites being the aroma test and wine tasting at the end! A must do whilst in Porto - a great way to avoid the midday sun or get out of the rain. The rest of the cultural district is full of other great museums and restaurants - as a vegetarian I would definitely recommend the ‘flexitarian’ Root & Vine restaurant or the vegetarian Francesinha (a veggie take on the Porto classic) at T&C restaurant. Delicious! The ‘Pink Palace’ was a firm favourite of the museums - an exhibit on the history and production of Rosé including a pink ball pit and five tastings (I think would be great for a hen do).   Attended the Saint Johns night event on the 23rd June. Event had very little table space we arrived at 19.00 hrs and did not manage to get a table. Eventually managed to get two chairs, get there as the event opens if you want to eat and drink in comfort. The beer pump at the bar that I qued at for 17 miniutes broke down so no beer and no alternative offered. Kind of spoilt the night. While there were lots of other bars and food stalls the ques were long and their management was very poor. The entertainment was liveand reasonably good but was very locally themed.   It’s a “wine cultural center” with restaurants and “museums” but don’t expect a real museum but more of a kitschy one. We visited 2 museums, the wine museum and pink palace. The first one of an interactive-wannabe place, some interesting information and ends with 3 small wine tasting. The guy did his best so no complaints on him. The pink palace is the most kitschy place I have recently visited but they offer 5 rose wine tastings and they’re generous and because of the alcohol it’s quite fun in the end. Wine Experience taught us a lot about the wine making process and the wine regions of Portugal. Planet cork was interesting. Pink Palace was full of fun and instagramable moments.   We were surprised at how informative and big this place is! We were unsure about the prices (we paid 34€ for 2 museums per person). But after the first Museum about the history of Porto we were convinced. A lot of information and different types of presentation. We spent almost 2hours in the first museum. After that much education we wanted something more fun and tried the “pink palace”: a museum about rosé wine including 5 tastings and a lot of possibilities to take fun pictures. I HIGHLY recommend this place! I can imagine that the other museums are great too (chocolate and cork in particular).   Absolutely worth a visit.... I did a walking tour & it was 1st class. Allowed me to return to the places I was interested in. Visited, churches, monastery. Took a ride on the 6 bridges boat trip walked both levels of the bridge, used metro, cable cars & vernacular. Walked for miles, drank lots of coffee & Super Bock and did a tour of Taylors Port distillery. Lots of 1st class Buskers who where excellent.   A set of old warehouses have been converted into the "World of Wine" comprising several museums and some upmarket shops, bars and restaurants. We purchased a 5 museum ticket which we used to visit the Chocolate Story, Planet Cork, Porto Region Across the Ages, the Wine Experience and the Pink Palace. The first three of these were interesting and informative, although we felt that the Porto Region museum would have benefited from either an audio guide or more interactive elements as there were rather a lot of information panels to read. The Wine Experience was of less interest to us because we are already quite knowledgeable on this subject, although the street with buildings from different regions was a nice touch. The wine tasting lesson at the end was disappointing, no effort at all was given to telling us how to taste the wine (fortunately we already knew but others would not), it was just put in glasses and given to us. The Pink Palace is just plain silly but we were expecting this and it gave us some laughs. To be honest we hadn't even realised that it included wine tasting, which came as a pleasant surprise. We ate lunch at the T&C restaurant which was OK but nothing special. Overall a nice place to visit, especially on a rainy or particularly hot day as most of it is inside air conditioned buildings, but a bit expensive.   I couldnt recommend this museum more. By far the most modern, engaging, and approachable museum I've been to. We even considered extending our stay in Porto to visit the reat of the exhibits. We started with Planet Cork and then visited the Wine exhibit as well. We were in absolute awe over how modern, high quality, interactive, and advanced the museum was.   The WOW Wine Experience Museum takes visitors on the journey of wine starting from the soil and climate, then onto the vines and different types of grapes, through to harvesting and the full wine production and bottling process. The wine tasting at the end was great, and made it worthwhile, otherwise I would have said it was overpriced. We're glad we visited for the hour and while parts felt a little sterile, we would recommend this to anyone who is interested in learning more about wine. Once you've finished here, head out to the many wine cellars in the area and enjoy some more wine with your newfound knowledge and appreciation for this much loved drink.   The museum has a very beautiful architecture and the presentation flow is well defined. The interactive experiences really bind it all together. The final workshop brings all the knowledge together at the end of the tour. I wish there was some scent apparatus in each room to really bring the experience up a notch. The jelly beans could have different flavours as well. Finally, when you reach the middle of the tour there's a bit too much text. But the video following it puts you back on track.   I will give a 5 stars for the Wine Museum. It's a rich, interactive, well-built experience. There's a lot of history on wine, its characteristics and the many places where it's grown. The only bad thing that happened: we were enjoying the experience and got word from an employee that a wine serving experience was happening in a few minutes. We rushed to it (and after you get to that, you can't return to the museum) and were poorly served. It was clearly the last experience of the day and the employee just wanted to see us out of there. She served the wines, went to the kitchen to clean the glasses from previous experiences and got back to serve the Port Wine on the White Wine glass that was now empty. No explanation at all.   Crazy crowded with tourists, but that was to be expected. I was here about a year ago and the women's toilet was broken and it is still not functioning. The staff is pretty good at clearing tables, but finding seating can be tricky at peak times- lunch time when I was there. There are many food options, ones of which was a vegetarian buffet.   We came to this place for an exposition about Portugal (prior to dictatorship vs 2016) when a famous photographer had been here. The exposition was fantastic. The room where the exposition was held was very clean and had a fresh look. We then visited the cafeteria and passed through the restaurant. And even though we didn't have something, everything looked great. The view of the river is gorgeous - picturesque. If you are visiting or if you are from the city you must visit this place.   You can easily spend here the whole day. Museum of wine is interactive, complete (you learn about everything - and I mean it - EVERYTHING). Different sorts of wine, how soil impacts the final product, how to taste wine, how to choose wine... You also get to test local wine in the end. The price is hefty, but it's well worth it. We spent 2 hours at wine museum alone, other experiences can easily take the whole day.   Good views and a modern facility, but don't be misled by the "free entry" - you have to pay for every exhibit they have. We came here to see the Planet Cork exhibit - it cost €20 per person, but note the machines to make your custom corks weren't working, and the staff won't tell you in advance! The exhibit itself was really impressive as it had a lot of interactive displays and detailed information, but we were shocked when we came to the machine to make customised corks and found it was broken. We should have been told this upfront, as it was the only reason we came to see the exhibit, and we were very disappointed to see it wasn't available. Overall would not recommend coming here - it's costly and a bit pretentious. The best thing about it is the views and proximity to other attractions.   I went there with a friend. For the World Cup, they had set up a fan zone. When we asked for 2 glasses of red wine (5 eur each), at the Lemon Plaza, we were totally surprised by the following: - the wine was served in a plastic cup - the wine was literally cold - the quantity was ridiculous. When we referred this to the employee, she just told us that "all wines here are served cold". Red wine, cold? And they have "Wine experience"?? I also asked for 2 chamuças.   The ticket costs €20 for an adult and if you attend to a wine tasting workshop you end up with a voucher for a small glass of wine at the cafe on the fourth floor. The tour itself is such a sensory experience. I loved it and you learn so much about how wine is made - from the soil to the fermentation process, with a very interesting part introducing you to different of Portugal. If you are in Porto I would definitely recommend it. I spend 2h30 inside the wine experience and there are plenty of cafe and restaurants to make it a day out. The place was set up for vendor booths that were offering literature and a few had free samples mostly had products to buy.   We went to the WOW Porto Beer fest and it was the first time we had ever been to WOW. There is so much to offer and we didn't have time to visit many of the places inside. We did have some tapas and drinks at Angel's Share and the views are simply breathtaking! We will definitely be exploring some of the museums and other bars and restaurants in the future.   The concept is well thought out and the views are very beautiful. Otherwise it's too expensive. But the "restaurants", "bars" and the museum visit pass is ridiculous. If we want to visit all the museums and we are a family of 4 it is impractical for a middle class family. Another issue is the terraces, we sat down and ordered a coffee and tonic water with ice and lemon. They told us that it would not be possible to serve, because they only had snack and wine menus.   We were grateful for the advice to come here early in the trip to check it out. It was a wonderful place to start our exploration of Porto/Portugal, especially because we were too early to check in to our place. We initially thought it was weird that another reviewer had commented on how this place doesn’t seem economically sustainable, but we absolutely have to agree. The museums seem cool, but they are expensive and shops are mostly great for window shopping. We had an excellent meal at the all-day brunch restaurant on our first visit, so we ended up checking out WOW again the next day. We went to get a drink at the seafood restaurant, but were turned away as it was almost dinner time and there was only indoor seating available in the bar. We were confused because they had a chance to earn some business, but decided that we couldn’t just sit and have drinks at a restaurant with maybe 4 other customers (who, one may note, were only having drinks) in it. This is a WONDERFULLY made FREE facility, with notably nice bathrooms and beautiful views of Porto. But, we are not entirely sure what the plan is here.   We had a great time at WOW Porto which we visited on our 1st day in Portugal. The first exhibit we visited was the Porto Region Across the ages museum which was very informative and well designed although a bit long-winded (use the bathroom beforehand!). The second museum we visited was The Chocolate Story, which we highly recommend. The museum taught us a lot about the history of chocolate, how chocolate is made, and we got to try chocolate along the way! After visiting the museums we shared delicious Cafe Mochas at the Suspiro cafe, and took in the views on the terrace outside.   Outstanding and carefully crafted complex. It isn’t the cheapest experience in Porto but it has been one of my favourites. We tried the Porto Experience, the Cork World museum and the Pink Palace - all were brilliant.   We went to WOW because it said WOW on the side of a building, we were lured in by this one word. This is a double edged sword because yes WOW is WOW a spiralling maze of shops, restaurants and museums. But the huge size of the real estate verses the retail and money making element is massively if kilter, so it begs the question how sustainable is the venue? While I appreciate it’s early days for WOW it must only generate a few Europe’s per square foot each day, so when the funding stops and the rents truly kick in it will take a fortune to maintain it, further money the cash making operations namely the museums may not be popular enough to support the estate, in one hour we saw a family of five go into the cork museum. On the good side, it’s a vast sprawling repurposed estate, not as hip as LXFACTORY in Lisbon, but more on the side of class, this is very much a place that will appeal to 50 somethings, the affluent and those that want an Instagram snap in a cool place. Went to a cafe where they sold gluten free cake. There are also terraces and exhibition space. Yes WOW is truly WOW but it has yet to understand it’s place in the world and needs to generate its own income and fast, before parts of WOW shut their doors forever.   I went to the chocolate factory ofc. The chocolate is absolutely fine, I got to choose one made for me (you can choose what kind of chocolate and toppings and watch the process) the café is very stylish and the staff friendly (if not on point, but this is Portugal 😄). Oh and the soy milk was so neutral I thought it was real milk. They were out of regular milk. Hahaha, yeah, again, Portugal. Be relaxed when going. But go!   Wonderful experience! The place is just very nice, with a lot of things to see and learn. You have many different experiences you can go for and we opted for the 2: the Chocolate and the Wine experience. Those were both located in separated buildings but very close to each other. We loved both of the self paced tours and we were just very pleasantly surprised how everything was well organised and had an interesting story throughout the tour. I would definitely recommend to anyone in Porto, to come and check out some of the things WOW has to offer.   Beautiful area of Vila Nova de Gaia. Walking through this area is very hilly but beautiful. Homes and businesses are restored very nicely, at least from the outside.   WOW Porto was truly a WOW-worthy experience. We did two museums for 28€ per person (individual museum prices differ), which we highly recommend. We decided to do the Wine Experience and Pink Palace, which were both incredibly interactive and fun experiences. The Wine Experience gave a rich perspective on the production and consumption of wine, while Pink Palace was a fun, instagrammable experience of Rosé. Carlos at Pink Palace was great!   Came during 2021 Christmas Eve. Absolutely loved the area. I highly recommend tourist visit WOW and downtown Porto. But WOW has to be your first stop. Servers and works, almost all, know fluent english and portuguese. WOW offered great museums on the history and construction of the area, the wine and how its made in the area, and museums of fashion and art.   Loved the entire experience tho we didn’t even experience it all. Came here because we wanted to taste one of the wines we didn’t get to travel to in the Valley. Would have stayed longer to experience more if we had more time. Definitely worth a return trip and future extended stay. On the second dinner we were treated with a spectacular Technicolor pyrotechnic video extravaganza played on the walls of the museum. I’m trying to include the video here.   Good views over Porto's Ribeira,making good use of some old derelict units in VN Gaia. The view in Yeatman is better. This place itself is very imposing, although it feels rather excessive, considering it is just dedicated to wine. The whole complex has some nice restaurants. It is a nice thing to do in Gaia and it manages to bring the same (wine) in a slightly posher way. The museums, while pricy for solo tickets, are modern and truly interactive - and more affordable for family or combo tickets. You have museums about wine, chocolate, drinking vessels, rosé, cork and more - and they usually include tastings. The stores are very well put together, with really cool stuff - and not much pricier than the stuffy corner souvenir stores all around the city. The architecture is stunning if you're into postmodernism - and even if you don't plan to spend you can still stroll around, enjoy the city views and the beautiful atmosphere. Maybe drink a glass of good wine. The place is big so plenty of room for everyone, and it's a truly magnificent (commercial) building. Recommended!   I went there to see the Francis Bacon exhibit. The staff was really nice and the exhibit itself was incredible and very well put together. You have a QR code where you the information about each painting. Included in the ticket was a glass of wine for each person in a cafe on the outside area.   WOW! It a must to come here. High quality exhibition with lots of well elaborated information presented with a superb design. The location and the terrace alone would be already worth coming.   Great place, we just tried the wine bar for an aperitif on the terrace. Good selection by the glass. Lovely view on the city. Next time I’ll surely try the restaurants and visit the museums!   This place is fairly new. It was open on July 31st. Is like a micro Disneyland for wine lovers. Inside you will find several restaurants, cafeterias, museums, experiences/activities, stores, etc. It is ideal for fine dinning. If you’re going with a car, you can park on street in front of the gate, or use the parking lot of the Yeatman which is about 25 meters away, from the main entrance.
