  Visited twice whilst on holiday in mid-March. First time was just for drinks and we sat on the terrace overlooking the Atlantic at sunset! Second time was for my Birthday. We dined inside as it was still cool in March. Food was fabulous, as was the rosé wine. I also got a lovely piece of chocolate cake as a birthday gift!   What a beautiful place to enjoy the sunset and the lovely view. Cannot recommend this place enough, lovely food, lovely staff, was not rushed but not felt as if we were waiting. We have been to Vivaldos many times over the years whilst holidaying during the day and have never had a bad meal or service. For example the fish and prawn bbq kebab - delicious! To Andolisia (sorry, may have spelt that wrong) Chris, Sandra, Kevin & Sue (Just Sue) would like to wish all at Vivaldos a big thank you and hope to see you again soon. 5 stars from us.   Food: We ordered a fish kebab, it was fresh and only seasoned with salt, yet the taste was all right. My partner is vegan, she ordered a nachos with chilli con carne...it was very poor. Taste was just edible, definitely not recommended. They could add some salad on the side, maybe. The service was great and we liked the view to the beach.   Me and my husband had dinner here nearly every night while on holiday. The staff were lovely and friendly, efficient and welcoming. The food was delicious and they had gluten free options to suit hubby. Loved the atmosphere as well and we sat directly above the beach which was awesome.   Visited this restaurant twice. First night was brilliant couldn't fault it at all. All my family enjoyed their food. The ribs were so meaty and in all fairness probably the best ribs I've ever had. Went back for a second time and it wasn't so good. Service was slow. Chicken kebab was dry. So in my review I've accounted for both visits.   This was the most disappointing meal we have had as the coleslaw looked and tasted like it had been through a dehydrator then the chips had been warmed 10 times and solid. The main part of the meal wasn't so bad but cold so it makes me wonder whomever is cooking knows just what they are doing. This meal was rubbish and overcharged so we will not be visiting again when we have found better restaurants that serve quality food.   2 lunches and 2 dinners here in a 4 day trip should give you some sense of how much we enjoyed this lovely resturant. The view is breathtakingly beautiful, the staff are warm, and with the exception of the calamari (which were a touch over cooked so a bit tough), the food was v tasty. Fries were hot crisp and perfectly salted. Toastie (cheese and bacon) was lush, garlic bread was mouth wateringly good, muscles and wings from the tapas were delicious (my 11 yr old was a huuge fan of those). Chicken with mushrooms and fusilli with salmon and capers were exceptionally well enjoyed and the ribs were moist and meaty. The smoothies were more like slushies but that didn't stop the children from draining the glasses. House white wine was light and fruit. As other reviews have mentioned, lunch diners are offered a 20% discount card for dinner, which makes this lovely resturant even more attractive as an option when travelling alone with children.   The menu was very diverse and you had a lot to choose from, but the moment the food came we were disappointed. I ordered a ‘strawberry fruit smoothie’ and id be surprised if I found one single strawberry in it. I got served some slushie mixed with strawberry lemonade sirup. It tasted extremely chemical. I also had the calamari tapas style, and it was extremely dry and it felt like it was going to break my teeth. The nachos were overpriced but tasted quite good. The service was nice, as was the view.   Was extremely underwhelmed and unimpressed with this place, food was good but far beneath my expectations of this place considering their other reviews and their prices.   I went here for breakfast. The eggs were raw, the egg white not cooked properly. I couldn't get the attention of staff when noticed but mentioned to the waitress when she came back to collect the plates. She gave me a discount card for 20% off thinking this was a gesture due to undercooked eggs. I decided to go back for dinner that same night. Although I arrived about an hour before closing I felt really rushed. I ordered ribs which came out cold. When I called the waitress and told her my issue she apologised and returned them to the kitchen. To my surprise, instead of being given a new plate of ribs, they obviously just heated up the ones I returned. This then made the ribs dry and tough. Again, I mentioned my issue and explained that I had issues with breakfast. She apologised and following discussion with manager they discounted the bill. I was really looking forward to dinner and hoped the breakfast was just a once off, sadly not. The waitress was nice but totally let down with food. Very disappointed.   Really enjoyed eating here. Firstly, the location is superb. Right on the ocean front so the views are first class and creates a lovely atmosphere whether eating inside or out. Thirdly, the staff are so incredibly polite and happy to help in anyway. Alex the owner, despite this being a football mad country, even made sure that he had the six nations rugby games playing for when I visited after I explained my desperate need to see them!   Horrible food, if you have some sort of taste buds you will want to avoid this place. It’s simply a waste of this beautiful view.   We have travelled to Portugal for over 30 years, and nearly every year we have eaten hear be it for lunch or dinner. A number of years ago we dined there with our little girl and they were so accommodating and so helpful. They really are the nicest people and always so helpful. There food is very tasty. I really hope there all doing well during the pandemic and they survive these tough times and hopefully we'll be back next year to dine with them again.   Came here a few years ago and had a lovely meal. Returned again this week but unfortunately not the same standard. It's a beautiful setting, right overlooking the beach. The prices are reasonable and food plentiful but more quantity than quality. Sorry. We had tapas for lunch which was ok but plain and boring! We also tried the fish stew with rice for two in an evening, which at 70 euro was quite expensive. Because it was all mixed together it was just a mushy paella!! The wait for the food was very long and when it came totally totally disappointing. Who serves plain tasteless white rice with massive prawns with the she'll still on it with nothing else. Even my son didn't like the carbonara sauce with pasta. And the price for that is still what is making me angry. I could have gone to Happy House for a lovely Chinese buffet and got almost 30 euros in change.   Very basic food, kids spaghetti bolognese was basically spaghetti with mince and no sauce, totally bone dry. Chicken dishes were simple fillet with added sauce and minimal effort.   Edit - 2023- came back here as we loved it so much 6 years ago and loved just as much if not more. Perfect spot and absolutely fantastic service. Must of visited 4 or 5 time during our week stay in the area 2017 - We went here near enough every morning for breakfast and a couple of times for our evening meal. Never had any issues, staff was always pleasant and remebered us, food was good and reasonably priced. Location was perfect.   Me and my partner ate here a couple of times during our holiday, very nice location overlooking the beach. The service was great, very helpful and attentive staff, food was very nice and wasn't too expensive either. Only downside is later on it is quite cool with the breeze from the sea as it is the Atlantic.   Worse food I had in albufeira. Over priced and i expected better for the money i paid. Most food on the menu is not fresh. Burgers and chicken was tastless. Im pretty sure they bought frozen burgers and chicken from Aldi. Expect to pay more then €20 per person for food and drink.   Went for lunch on our first day, was disappointed I had the calamari which was OK, but the salad wasn't fresh,my partner had the chicken which came with ham and cheese. It was highly recommended by our hotel so we thought we'd give it another chance for an evening meal.. Wrong decision. The shrimp cocktail starter was slimy and my partner left half of it. My ham bruschetta was nice. We both had Portuguese steaks.. The steak was chewy, the potatoes scallops was OK but the bacon and egg that came on top of steak was salty and inedible. Very disappointed. If u want nice, traditional Portuguese food I would recommend old told.. Lovely fish and steak dishes and a lot less money.
