  Turned up on spec and was greeted by a freindly waiter who showed me to a table inside. Was served drinks quickly and a starter of poppadoms and dips. Chose of an extensive menu of traditional Indian food which was preety much like what you would find in a restaurant in the UK. Food was served fairly quick and was tasty and priced reasonably.   Was surprised by how good it was. The papadums seemed home made (I'm not sure) and were just perfect, just the right delicate flavor and the right crunch. We got the appetizer tray as well, the bhaji were particularly good. We could have skipped that and we would have had more than enough food, but we wanted to sample everything. The hightlights for us were the butter chicken, the lamb korma, and the garlic naan. The portions were generous, the meat tender and the sauces, amazing. The naan was fantastic, very large, fresh and full of flavors and had about the shape of the Millennium Falcon. The naan was so good on its own, if you mostly want naan to finish all the amazing sauce and make your plates perfectly clean, I suggest the regular naan, but this is just a suggestion, I'm sure they're all amazingly delicious. Now I'm sad that I live so far away, I have no idea when I'll get the chance to try this restaurant again. (Traduzido pelo Google) Fiquei surpreso com o quão bom era.   We reached around 10pm looking at the timings here on Maps, however this place closes early in off season. We were still able to order for takeout. Overall the food was good but the chicken we ordered was packed for us uncooked (the chicken was pink in the middle) and the yogurt was very very salty. But other vegetarian menu items were quite good. I’d recommend going there so if something is not up to mark they can make it again or better for you at the table.   This restaurant has a top notch food with top notch service and a great ambience. This is 100 times better than one we tried two days ago near Faro Marina. The quantity is very good and quality as well. One must try “Saag Paneer” which the best in this region. Masala chai is also a must try. Request the friendly staff to add sugar when preparing the tea. All Naans and rice are good in quality and quantity.   Nice restaurant with all the usual favourites plus some really interesting special dishes. The aloo chat was particularly good - very different to a UK version. My main meal was very sweet and syrupy which I didn't like at all so that was a disappointment but, overall, this is a great choice if you're fancying Indian food.   I’m from India (Goa specifically) and went to have dinner with my family last evening, and was very very very disappointed with the food!! We ordered 3 main dishes and all had the same taste/curry/recipe - that of Korma…the Chicken Tikka Masala had its Orange colour but had the same Korma base!! Hahaha… I ordered Chicken Xacuti and Goa Fish Curry and both were prepared KORMA style (sweet Coconut curry) and not all the real recipes. They were all tasty of course, but come on, Korma sauce times 3 is too much! And the fish in the Goa Fish Curry was in dough, so not really the Goa style! I was ashamed (being an Indian) because I never experienced this before. I felt sorry for the foreign guests who don’t know what they’re really eating because they perhaps don’t know the original recipes. But any Indian will know that what’s in their plate doesn’t correspond to the names of the dishes and the original recipes. And when I informed the waitress, all she could say is “ok” and “if we liked the meal to leave a review for them”! Lol… So here is my honest review. Fiquei com vergonha (de ser índio) porque nunca tinha vivido isso antes. Tive pena dos convidados estrangeiros que não sabem o que realmente comem porque talvez não conheçam as receitas originais. Mas qualquer indiano sabe que o que tem no prato não corresponde aos nomes dos pratos e às receitas originais. E quando informei a garçonete, ela só conseguiu dizer “ok” e “se gostamos da refeição deixar um comentário para eles”! Haha… Então aqui está minha análise honesta.

There are indoor and outdoor seating options and it looked as though free parking was available.   My favorite Indian restaurant in Europe. As we travel a lot and are big fans of Indian cuisine we decided to try this Indian restaurant on our summer trip here in Portugal. We were more than surprised to find such a gem. Food was not just delicious but had a perfect level of spice and flavor. We ordered one appetizer and two mains. Everything was incredible. The chicken curry was probably the best I have ever tried. Service is very attentive and kind and gives great recommendations (especially if you have preferences it’s nice to get to try something new).   We visited yesterday evening with friends. They are regular diners there but this was our first time. We were immediately impressed with the light and airy feel of the dining area and the general atmosphere, and that was just the start. The menu is extensive and the food delicious. Everyone in our party was delighted with their meals and other customers we chatted with were of the same opinion. I have to make special mention of the excellent hosting skills of Preet and her colleagues. They were very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. The saag paneer had big chunks of cheese and we loved everything. Super quick takeout (only 25 mins). I ordered 2 curries, meat samosa, poppadoms, rice Palau, 2 cheesy garlic naans, tandoori chicken (appetizer portion) and it totaled 44€. It is a bit pricey but it’s QDL and I’d gladly order again.   Lugar bem confortável, limpo, bom perfume, bela decoração... grande estacionamento. Infelizmente não experimentamos uma deliciosa comida Indiana! Nada de pimenta (mesmo pedindo midium), comida pesada (sensação de estufamento, inchaço), não estava uma comida saborosa, frango seco e sem tempero. O rapaz que nos atendeu o tempo todo colocando "pressão" no atendimento, não conseguíamos conversar porque sempre erámos interrompidos (dando a sensação que precisava nos despachar)ou entao ficava ao canto no observando até de forma constrangedoura! A moça muito cordial e leve no atender! Infelizmente não foi boa a nossa experiência, talvez voltamos para dar uma outra oportunidade.

Firstly there is no ambience - no music - and since the place is quiet in the first place - only three tables of diners - meant you could hear people’s conversations and dropping of cutlery.   Just had a fantastic meal at the Royal - very tasty and plentiful. Staff very professional and nothing is too much trouble - highly recommended and will definitely revisit.   An amazing Indian restaurant to go to! The staff (one young man in particular) were super friendly, nice and wanted to make your meal the best it could be! The food was also delicious, and as I am a very picky eater I was very surprised to find the curry so delicious! Prices are normal I would say not expensive. Only downside is it's fairly small, just one room for the diners, but there is outside in the summer. Other than that it's great and I would really recommend it!   We regularly holiday in QDL, and noticed this Indian beside the Conrad, where we were staying. We were very pleasantly surprised, mixed starter was very good, but our main courses were superb, Chicken Tikka Masala, Butter Chicken and Methi Lamb, all extremely tasty, and with lean meat, on a par with our favourite Indian - Dishoom in London. The Peshwari Naan was delicious too. The only criticism is that they don’t do desserts, although we’d eaten so much, we may not have had space! Excellent.   Just visited with the family. Excellent food & service. We had the chicken chilli masala, chicken madras and the chicken korma (we like chicken). All were authentic and really good.   Shocking food. We were here just after it opened, hoping to find somewhere new in QDL. Totally disappointing with all 6 of us commenting that all food tasted the same. All sent back and we left incredibly disappointed. Not to be repeated. Note a lot of the other reviews have only reviewed this restaurant giving it 5 star.   Finally got a fantastically fancy place. Visited last weekend, visiting many years coriender indian launge but this place touches my heart, they can't beat royal Indian cuisine, God their chicken balti is fab,food was super delicious. Normally I found people usese caned food but they are very professional in term of using fresh food as well. Superb service and great decor.cant wait for my next visit next year.
