  Amazing steak house in Faro. Great staff, great food and great atmosphere. We visited early one evening and it wasn't too busy. The food that was recommended arrived in good time and was prepared and cooked very well. The staff were very attentive and made us all feel very welcome.   Had two large tenderloin steaks. They were very tender however they could have used some seasoning for more flavor. The sides (salad, baked potato and fries) were very good. The service was not as good. We felt rushed to order, the waiter seemed distracted and questions weren’t answered or answered incorrectly. I asked how their medium vs medium rare were cooked.   I’m from belgium so I know about French fries, they were on point! I took the black Angus picanah together with the red wine Douro 2020 Quinta de la Rosa, I recommend it. Just be aware it’s a pretty expensive restaurant for Portugal standard’s , I got out with a +50 euros bills for 1 person - meat main dish, water, half a litre of red wine, a crepe Brûlée and a coffee .   We had the chateaubriand and it was delicious. Service was impeccable and very professional. The restaurant is quite intimate and has a lovely setting in the middle of Faro. Would definitely recommend. Unfortunately while we were there we witnessed some extremely rude English customers leaving the restaurant being vile to the staff in an attempt to leave without paying. The staff handled the situation with extreme professionalism and everyone in the restaurant was flabbergasted at this disgusting behaviour. I am pointing this out in case they leave a bad review here. Two people from our table are English so they were particularly disappointed to witness this despicable conduct.   We had a great time at Faaron steakhouse, until the last minute, even though the food was delicious. We ordered a sirloin and a tenderloin with lobster tail. The lobster was on the super small side but cooked well and the meat temperatures were both perfect. The white sangria was also very tasty. Unfortunately come time to pay, they told us it was cash only on Sundays! There was no notice of this until the very end. We had to go to the ATM and exchange money at a very high fee so we could pay with cash. This was a huge oversight on their part, especially because a lot of tourists like us do not really hang out with much cash towards the end of their vacations. Please tell customers in advanced if it is cash only, this was a very unpleasant experience.   A completely tourist trap as it’s located in the beginning of the alley where is full of local dining venues. Unfortunately I’m not sure how this place got a 4.7 star of reviews. Service was mediocre not to mention the food quality was so bad that I wonder what I actually ordered. I never left any bad reviews when I visited Portugal, this is by far the first negative dining experience I ever had here. If you are a person who gets grumpy when eating low quality of food, you would get extremely mad that you wasted your time and money here.   We are Canadians travelling the Algarve. Our last night in Faro and we came across Faaron Steakhouse. The best steakhouse in Portugal we visited over the last few weeks. we started with scallops and 4 on the plate with bacon and apples started our meal off great. I had steak and lobster and although the lobster was quite different than east coast Canadian lobster and not as meaty it was very tasty. The rib-eye stake melted apart under the knife and the taste was delicious. My wife had the smaller portion ribeye steak and enjoyed every bite. Desert was tiramisu for me and creme brule for my wife and both were fantastic. Our waitress was so friendly and the entire staff waited on us very quickly. Language was no issue here.   Went here two nights in a row. First night was incredible. Wagyu was absolutely top notch. The mushrooms and the chateaubriand were fantastic. The second night we had a tomahawk which was absolutely awful. Overcooked in the outside and nearly blue on the inside. Ordered bernaise sauce and it looked and tasted like cream cheese, not even remotely close to the texture, taste, or look of bernaise sauce.   They take their meat very seriously here! They dry age their own beef. There is a good choice of both size (200/300gr) and quality (wagyu, etc) of each cut. The staff are very knowledgeable and helpful. The orders are cooked exactly as specified (medium rare, etc). There is a range of both good and fine wines. Our party of four had two couverts (bread with oil and olives), two Black Pig (Iberian style cured ham) starters, four steaks mainly 300g, some sauces, extra fries, ice cream and cheese board, two bottles of wine and digestifs for E240. You can spend a lot more but probably don't need to. I recommend the Black Pig and then the ribeye, done medium rare. Don't bother to order chips (aka potato fries) - steaks come with baked potato and salad. We enjoyed the wines which were both Quinta Carvalha (one rose E20, one red E39). If I had a suggestion to make it would be to add more explanation to the menu to describe each item and to say what side dishes are included. The wine list lacks any description apart from name and price. I would like to see grape varieties and words like 'full bodied'. Otherwise I can't fault Faaron. In fact, I highly recommend it.   We went there for dinner. Had to wait 1h for the food. Then they wanted to deliver us chicken breast which we never ordered. The ordered dish came then one minute later without any care.   As I write this review, I am still here awaiting my dessert which I am certain will be amazing based on my experience so far. I ordered the 250g tenderloin medium rare which comes with a side salad and a “stuffed potato” which is a baked potato with sour cream and chives for those of you from the U.S. The salad was fantastic, the potato amazing (I’m not sure why but in Faro, they make magic with milk products here!). The sour cream is the best I have ever had. The tenderloin was perfectly cooked and melted in my mouth. I really didn’t expect to eat all 9 ounces of the filet but I simply could not leave a bite on my plate. It was just too good! Also took a chance on the house red for only 4.5 euros and was quite pleasantly surprised by the quality! A nice drinkable red with spicy notes and red fruits which paired beautifully with the steak. And I suspect the remainder of my second glass will go well with the chocolate soufflé that I ordered as well! The service has been prompt but not overwhelming. All set to lovely Brazilian background music. Truly a lovely evening! And I say all of this as a solo traveler! The only complaint that I have? That I did not discover this restaurant prior to my last night in Faro!   As someone who frequently enjoys fine dining experiences, we went into Faarons without high expectations, however, after we left it became clear that this establishment offered some of the best gastronomical experiences in all of Portugal. The server recommended a fantastic wine that was the perfect touch to an already perfect rack of lamb. We have tried many lamb dishes throughout our culinary experience but this lamb was second to none. Cooked exactly to our specifications and by far more delicious than any other lamb dish we have ever had. We also ordered a plate of mushroom pasta from the vegetarian section and it was an exceptional dish that matched no other mushroom pasta we have tried before. The pasta was perfectly creamy and the pasta was cooked perfectly Al dente. Beyond the delicious food, the ambience and our interaction with the staff were a critical element in making this a truly special gastronomical experience for us. We plan to return to Faro, even if it is simply just to enjoy another rack of lamb and dish of mushroom pasta from this superb restaurant located in the heart of Faro.   Very good experience! Very good meat restaurant. We had high hopes since the rating on google shows already great numbers. I had the foie gras and the T bone and both were exellent!   Coastal town is all about the seafood but when you do want a hit of meat Faroon Steakhouse is a must. Chateaubriand comes served with a few simple sides. Tasty mushrooms, tomatoe and the garliciest potatoe you'd need to accompany your slab of well prepared tender steak. If you like eating like a king grab some sides too. Youre on holiday. We went for the Macorroni Cheese. Stringy strings rising with flavours of mixed cheese, a dash of nutmeg and the crispy bits from the edge of a scalding bowl. Gratinated Potatoe was packed of flavour too. Blackberry sorbet with a sprig of mint served over those lovely crumbled biscuits accompanied our final swigs of Sangria.   Best steaks and had in any restaurant, beautiful cooked. The sauces we ordered in the side were also fantastic, as were the desserts. The staff were so friendly and attentive, already have plans to return next week. The one small criticism I have (and it is only small), is that I would prefer the steaks to be served on large plates rather than the wooden boards.   We finally get the napkin after 28 minutes. The cutlery arrived in the nefin’i of our 35 minutes that we sat and find chance to discuss the restaurant. The wine wine was good from Portugal, a bit pricy Callabriga Douro which none of the waiters could tell how does it taste. Tartar Steak tartar came with a quail egg on top which we had to break! İi The meat at the tarter was good but the over mustards and weird potato fries on top and finally the uneven big piece onions made the experience utterly absurd.   Very disappointed with this restaurant. The chicken burger is a joke. This is not a real piece of chicken but a mixture of ground chicken and something else, which is not mentioned on the menu.   This is honestly one of the BEST steakhouse that we have tried in all countries apart! I had a Cob with pepperoni sauce, my husband had a beef sirloin and our daughter got the ribs.   Vegetable soup was delicious. Steak was amazing. Clams were spectacular. Service was great. 4 out of 5 only because I couldnt try desert. Great unexpected pitstop suggested by a friend while on a quick up and back from Spain. Couldn't enjoy it like I really wanted to due to a 3 hour ride ahead of me but I will most definitely be back.   Had the rump steak - thin cut, wasn't fantastic. House wine was very sour and service was a little slow. Think we possibly ordered incorrectly but usually prefer rump. No choice of sides with our main, it "comes with" chips and rice / beans. Both of which weren't fantastic. Overall, two stars. There are far better eateries nearby!   Visited this restaurant by chance on a rainy night in Faro. My husband and I both had sirloin steaks which were cooked to perfection as far as we were concerned. There was a very helpful guide on how to order your steak; well done /medium/ rare etc which ensured that it was cooked to our liking (this can differ from country to country). The service was excellent and the surroundings comfortable and very pleasant. For people not that keen on fish dishes such as us this was a welcome find in a city where fish is the main focus.   We are visiting Faro and have been back to Faaron 3 times. The meals are consistently delicious and the service perfect. Our most recent meals were a perfectly prepared rack of lamb and a monkfish dinner! Fabulous! Do try the baked potatoes, they are an extra special side! We highly recommend.   We stopped by this afternoon to eat. I looked over the menu board posted outside to decide what looked good and we sat down. When our server brought us our menus I noticed that all the prices had been hand written and saw that some of the prices were higher than what was listed on the board I had looked at before. Our server said I was mistaken. I wasnt but decided to let it go. I ordered chicken wings. ABSOLUTELY THE WORST WINGS I EVER HAD! How they could serve breaded wings that were too hot to pick up then to discover the middle was completely cold is beyond comprehension. Coming from the States I have eaten wings my entire life and without any doubt these were so far beyond awful they should be given an award for how not to make chicken wings.   The service is good here. You get a wide choice of steaks, nice wine (0.375 to 0.750ml) choice and homely atmosphere. My plate was already cold when served and no second heating attempt could make up for it of course as the steak is quite big. But it looked very nice and it still tasted good. Imagine how it would taste hot! And they nicely gave me the specific seat I asked for. Overall, if you’re lucky to get your plate very early, it is worth it.   That was an amazing dinner. Steak was grilled medium on point. The meat was an excellent piece for a ribeye steak. The waitress was really helpful, nice and humorous. We really enjoyed our dinner. Even the Carpaccio as starter to share was delicious. Since I asked for a liquor after dinner and found nothing which I wanted to try, the waitress gave me one Portuguese liquor to try for free, and I have to say it was something different but really delicious.   Lamb rack was really excellent and well seasoned. Probably in my top 3 best lamb racks I ever had. Too bad the toilet seat was not working at the time, but the food quality sure makes up for this.
