  Sadly that I can give "only" five stars. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 This restaurant, the staff and food is nothing I have ever experienced so far in my journey here or anywhere else in my life! The food is truly outstanding seafood of top quality. It is delicious and I'm normally not a fan of seafood, but this absolutely changed my mind! I got a lot of ideas and impressions here and I hope I get the same wine somewhere back home to just have a little "playback" or living memory of this night. 😁 The staff here is exceptional! So friendly, patient and give you so many tips and things to try. For example, we got another "Vino Verde" just for trying the red, instead of the white/green version of it. Not that I only loved the wine, I also really loved their kindness and gentleness. This tells me, that not only the food is important, but also the surroundings and the people working there. (And as I wrote in the first sentence: The food was fantastic! 🥰) The restaurant itself is really cozy and maximum enjoyable for your stay. I loved it!   Cataplana here was fantastic, but the best part of the meal was our server, Leo. His warmth and energy made us feel so welcome and looked after.   Living in a touristic place I always felt this would be a tourist trap but I couldn't be more wrong. The staff was amazing and the food was excellent. I'm happy and glad to see that some good quality places still survive the touristic pitfalls.   In short: Better be lucky to get a table without reservation than to book a table and get served in the seperate building. Inconsistent quality. We visited this restaurant two times in the span of a week. One time without an reservation and the second time with reservation. The first time was great and we were lucky to get the last availible table. Very friendly and quick service, good recommendations for wine and portwine. The cataplana was delicious, so were the desserts. So later that week we reserved a table again since it was out last day in faro and we were very disappointed. When we arrived we were guided to a seperate building where they has their restaurant room for reservations. So far, so good, propably makes sense somehow. Here we had two tapas and a main dish, together with some bread and two glasses of wine. Someone always stood next to our table, which was very uncomfortable to us. When asking for wine recommendations the waitress replied: „All wine are good“ and so we both got the same white wine despite having completely different dishes. We also were not offered to try the wine first. One tapas was ok, the other one was pretty good. My partner‘s dish was not that great, tasted like beef stew despite being a octopus rice dish.   It was one of the best dinners during our trip to Faro. The food is great but the service is even better! Really friendly and knowledgeable stuff, and even when we made a mistake by ordering the wrong dish, they made it up for us and cooked the dish we originally wanted afterwards, at no extra cost.   Had a great time here yesterday night! The staff were very friendly throughout dinner! We started with two appetisers: the pork cheeks and fried squid. The pork was extremely tender and flavourful and the squid was delicious after it was fried with garlic. There were about 8 or so squids - so plenty to go around for a group of 3. Our main was the algarvian cataplana, a dish with both meat and seafood. We ordered extra bowls of rice to eat with this dish.   We had the queijo queimado as a starter, which was served in a beautiful plate with burned thyme and tasted amazing. For main we shared the cataplana de peixe. It was absolutely incredible and very generous portion. The staff was super friendly and made suggestions about the wine to pair with the food. The razor clam had a distinct fishy flavor, and the King Spawn Cataplana was a letdown – the clams were cold, and the king spawn wasn't fresh. As someone who came to Portugal for seafood, this restaurant was a major disappointment.   This was my first night going out for dinner in Faro and i was immediately surprised by the quality of the food and the kindness of the people who worked at this beautiful restaurant. For starters i had 2 oysters which were served with a really spicy sauce. They were really good and the sauce was a great addition. For the main course i went with the Octopus rice which was also really good. It was very tasteful and there was a lot of meat inside, so definitely worth the money! Overall this place is really something you cannot miss during your stay in Faro.   We had dinner here. We tried the Portuguese famous Cataplana which is a mixed seafood stew. We ordered the version with pork and it was really a plus! There was chorizos and cured meat and also boiled pork pieces. Fried octopus was averagely good. The Açorda is a local dish that is made of crumbled bread soaked in soup. It tastes like smashed potato! And you can choose different kinds of seafood in the Açorda. Ours was with codfish and clams. They also have quite some traditional cakes made of some local special fruit. Worth a try! The price is a bit high in local standard, but for a seafood restaurant it is understandable.   Oh, yummmmmmmy. Ate here right before getting on our flight back home and just gooooood. We had the squid and clams as an appetizer. Not chewy at all which is always a good sign. Then we shared a Prawn Acorda which was very strange but sooo good and seafoody. You could taste everything and sure, its a little pricy but eat outside. Otherwise if you don't know local specialties, waitress are friendly and full of advices. Also be careful portions are bigger than normal, Cataplana for 2 is more for 3. We’ve travel a lot in South of Portugal, gastronomy experience for us is one of the most important aspects to understand coulter of the region. Finding this restaurant in Faro was like finding a gastronomical treasure. Family run restaurant in the charming spot and such lovely staff. Attentive service but not obtrusive, nothing was too much trouble and smiles all around. We’ve had dinner there twice and consistency always was at present. Do ask staff for food & wine recommendations, they never faulted our expectations. If you are in Algarve region this place is a must to dine in! Cannot recommend enough.   The restaurant is located in one of Faro's main streets in the pedestrian zone. Sitting outside gives quite an atmosphere. The waitress was quite kind and caring and she recommended the pawns acorda, since it is one of the restaurants specialities and can't be found everywere. The dish is kind of a boiled down bread soup, with a consistency quite similar to risotto. The taste of it was great and a unique experience. I can recommend everybody to try it! But be aware that it is quite satuating and heavy, as it seems to be that a lot of olive oil and garlic is used. 4 prawns were used in the food, which was a little disappointing for me.   There was one guy running this place. I wish I got his name so I could tell whoever I need to triple his pay. He was so kind, fun, and incredibly busy but still made each table feel special. The food was good, the atmosphere was fun on the outside patio (we got to see a whole fado street performance), and if nothing else go to see the most hustling man ever.   We had the Fried Octopus and sweet potato fries with some side of rice, and I feel like l've just reached seventh heaven. The immaculate vibes here are one thing but the food, well, it is simply divine. The octopus was sauteed to caramelised perfection, and 2 very sweet roasted garlic cloves in the mix definitely elevated the dish. I just can't stop thinking about the octopus. There were almost crispy bits and there were also the bigger tentacle chunks which were never rubbery, all carrying the most delicious taste of olive oil and garlic. The chips were delightful, they were crispy and coated with garlic powder which made each bite savoury. This restaurant will be the reason I'll return to Faro!   A really lovely food experience. The atmosphere is great, the staff is super, not any issue or challenge to communicate in English. The service is fast and very professional. The food is really very good. We had 2 meals there and it proved to be consistently a great experience. My advise is to try the cheese quemado (with honey) and the pork cheeks... although anything else was super. If you like dessert, my favourite was the almonds and pumpkins cake.   We went to the wrong location first and gave up. Walking just around the corner, I realized the same restaurant was nearby. We are so amazed with the food and the wine. When the owner said that the Spanish come to Portugal to eat great food, we realized how Cataplana was so much more flavorful than a paella.   After reading the high 4.7 reviews, I decided to give it a try. What a mistake. Google reviews failed me the first time. It is located on a busy commercial street full of tourists. Most of the customers were tourists when I was there. I ordered a shrimp rice which came out really fast. Bad sign there. There were about 6 or 7 shrimps and the rest were tomato flavored rice stew. Most of the shrimps were not fresh and the texture were like rubber. The cost is 17 euros. In the middle of my meal the waiter checked on me and I told him my honest opinion however nothing was being done or offered. The one star is for the polite waiter.   Very nice restaurant. Short menu, as it should be (the less items on the menu, the better they know how to make them). We shared a fish cataplana for two during lunch. Delicious! Very generous portion, and very tasty (I am Italian, so I use the word tasty only when necessary). Wines were nice and service was great! Let me also address some negative comments from other reviews: you might need to wait a little bit for the food, especially if the restaurant is full. This happens in places where food is actually prepared instead of being microwaved. If you’re in hurry, go to a McDonalds. If you want to enjoy some typical food, then be patient and reserve a table outside very busy times. Second complain I have read is that the cataplana is rather big. First time in my life I read about people complaining about being given too much food haha. It is big for sure, you’ll get out of the restaurant feeling rather full. But honestly, I think it is ok, not a big issue. Maybe don’t take too much bread or starters if you’re planning for a cataplana for 2. And enjoy it! Mas, honestamente, acho que está tudo bem, não é um grande problema. Talvez não leve muito pão ou entradas se estiver a planear uma cataplana para 2 pessoas.

  Our tour guide recommended this place... It is delicious!!! Some points to have in count though: 1. Plates are huge! This wouldnt be a problem for sure but we left a lot of food (which we are not happy to waste food)... even when we are good eaters, the plates were really well served so i recommend one plate to share... it would be great if would receive some advice from the waitress on this... 2. Our daughter loves rice but not seafood... we managed... but there are not a lot of options for little kids It was a great recommendation and we really enjoyed our food here!   Small, romantic family-run restaurant on the side street (there is a second one around the corner). Restaurant was full when we arrived, but we were offered a table outside - no regrets accepting that. We felt like we have been visiting this restaurant for years.   My boyfriend and I came here for dinner and absolutely loved it. The staff was wonderful, very accommodating and helpful. We wanted to try the razor clams and they were all out so they went to a another restaurant to see if anyone had some and we were lucky they did! I had the seafood rice, which hit all the comfort spots I was craving for (and they let me order just for one person). But the real winner were the pork cheeks! Also, the staff was super sweet. Really tasty, the clams and loads of cod, the taste of garlic and some coriander. They forgot to bring us a salad, but it did not matter, really. Food was already plentiful!!   We came here yesterday for dinner and it was such a lovely experience. We ordered the olives for starters and then seafood rice for 2 persons. The prawns and clams were so fresh and flavours were amazing. The portions were huge and we couldn't finish. I would totally recommend giving this restaurant a try if you visit faro.   We loved this restaurant. We met one of the family members (Dad)who run a companion restaurant earlier in the day, and in the course of taking, he recommended we make a reservation at A do Pinto. We failed to do so; but as we were walking nearby during the evening we again happened upon the dad who ushered us to the restaurant door and helped us get a table. We shared a large table with another couple with whom we had a long and enjoyable conversation while we ate fabulously prepared traditional southern Portugal seafood. The tastes were amazing. The food was prepared with just enough spice to enhance, but not overpower the natural flavors. We had great wine upon recommendation by one of the son who so graciously operates the restaurant. As we ended our meal and were about to say goodbye to our table-mates and new friends, the son brought out a traditional Portuguese drink, glasses for us, himself and his mother and we all enjoyed a drink and toast together.   Good food, large portions, and really the warmest friendliest staff ever. They actively encouraged me to order less due to the large portions (honesty is the best policy) but of course I refused to heed their advice. Absolutely destroyed everything. Our server is a god among men and truly catered to our every wish and beyond. The cataplana we had was simply astounding and honestly, if I wasn't so fat already, I wouldn't have been able to finish it with my date. The fish was the best white fish I've EVER had. Although it is small, I would highly recommend this eatery. Be sure to make a reservation because during peak season this eight table joint will fill up fast!   Place was empty during lunch so we didn’t have high expectations but the cheap €8.50 lunch deal (for a soup, main, drink and coffee) brought us in. Fried squid was pretty good. The pork cheeks were decent but came out cold and had to be sent back to be reheated. Good portions and good value.   Such a great place! Best sea food I have ever ate. I met the owner and he was so kind. So his son.   This is a must if you like seafood! The fried octopus is more delicate than a filet mignon. I don't know how the chef did it! Huge chunks of garlic and the fresh parsley finish it off. It's bathed in local olive oil and the bath is a good thing. Very good thing. The shrimps also swim happily in olive oil and the garlic is back. This time the orange gives this dish a deliciously bright flavor. AND the chef explained it's slightly sweetened with a touch of honey. Amazing! Needless to say they are cooked perfectly. Not too much of a bounce back and tender. Excellent! Pair this all with a glass of Grão Vasco, a vinho branco, and you're all set! The pours are decidedly healthy. Yes, the prices are super fair.
