  Recommended by locals. Very likely to queue for a table but they have a great memory and diligence to get you that spot. Food was very delicious, simple flavours. I ordered the grilled cod, which was of a considerable size. It's served with potatoes and salad. There's this one light haired waiter, he is the one taking the door mostly.   What an amazing place! Fresh seafood and fish, huge portions and very decent prices! Loved it. The restaurant is usually quite busy, so try to book or come earlier than common lunch/dinner hours. It’s usually filled with people and buzzing, so if you are looking for a quieter experience - mb not the best for you. But the food covers up for everything.   Received a recommendation by our Tukano Tuk Tours driver today to eat here if we can during our holiday and he didn't disappoint! This place is just up off the main square in Lagos old town. We arrived as doors opened at 6.30pm and even though we were one of the first to arrive the restaurant was soon full with a queue! Their fresh fish is simply amazing and such great value for money. I noticed from a previous post that there was an issue about being handed pates, cheese and bread as soon as you sit down. Thankfully they must have taken note about this, because though we were handed these things, we didn’t touch them and we didn’t get charged for them. Our server was outrageously rude, impatient and unfriendly. I have never been so unpleasantly addressed. I will never return here & suggest caution when trying out this spot.   Weird vibe, not the friendliest service, average food price-quality ratio, dishonest practices. Most things one can just leave behind, but not when you are being extra charged for things you didn’t order. At the beginning you are being brought some starter: not fresh bread with industrial butter, cheese and some fish spreads. At the end you find on a bill 80 cent for butter, 2.8 eur for cheese and 2 eur for bread. Why do something like this at all? Just tell people upfront that they have to pay for this and it will be all fine, instead of tricking them into paying more for things they didn’t order. And another noticeable thing was price-quality ratio. We ordered swardfish and squids. Swardfish was oversalted and drowned in oil, while squids weren’t even cleaned properly leaving the cartilage and other insides there. Fries were too thin and therefore hard after frying.   Sometimes you want to keep certain places to yourself. This would be one. We had the best fish in Lagos served to us here. This is definitely worth a visit. A little hint. They have the menu and they also have a board hanging in the restaurant with the fresh fish of the day. Check this board out, this is where the specials are. We enjoyed the swordfish. Very good.   Everybody around me was very excited about the food. Especially the fish must had been amazing. I had a filet steak. I was not happy about that at all. I think I was very unlucky and would never order it again. Everything was very authentic and everybody was trying to do their best. That’s the reason I rate it a 5*.   The food alone deserves 5 stars. We ordered the tuna, the sea bass, and the salmon and every dish was excellent, as well as very large portions. However, I’m giving only 4 stars for two reasons. First, as soon as you sit down they will bring you a bowl of bread and a plate with butter, pate and cheese, even if you didn’t order it. Then they will charge you €11.20 (!!!) for it. We expected to pay something, of course, as we know by now that in Europe nothing comes for free. But €11.20 is a ridiculous price for what it is, and the fact that they don’t tell you is a shady way for them to screw your out of more money. Second, they were very understaffed. When we arrived, there were only 4-5 other tables sat, but by the time we left, the restaurant was full and we had to wait a long time after we’d finished eating just to get the bill and then again to pay.   The restaurant is close to center, cute and decorated with love. You can't sit outside, but its fresh and cozy inside, even on hot days.☺️ They bring you very nice bread and amazing cheese and some butter, even if you don't order it. But this is not included in the price of the main dish!! They want 7€ extra for this! Keep that in your mind. 🤯 About food : we have probably chosen the wrong dish, which is obviously not their favorite speciality. We have otdered cataplana. It had lot of clams and few crabs, chorizo, unfortunately no fish at all and unfortunately really a lot of pork, wich was not tender. The sauce could be OK but it was very very salty 😣 we had started eating, caise we were too hungry, but actually it was not good. We told that to the waitress, but there was no attempt to improve something, not evem a glas of water or something. They seemed not to be pleased about our comment. Even if they knew we were not happy, they let us pay their couvert 7€. So i am sorry, but to warn other customers, i have to write it, even if i guess that the other dished are great and the restaurant itself is probably ok. The salad is average, very good octopus yet with just a little flavor (good if you like kind of simple plain dishes and flavors), just octopus with potatoes and salad... the squids were really good though.   We visited for the first time last night and it was a good job we got there early as it was already full and there was only a few minutes wait before we got a table. I had the piri piri chicken (with chips ith rosemary and garlic) and my wife had the sea bass with veg. A great little family run restaurant that is well worth a visit if you like somewhere a bit more local and authentic. We will be visiting again. I want to try the grilled tuna. Oh, also very reasonably priced too.   The place looks really promising at the beginning but fast deteriorate during the course of the experience. First of the bat is the service which include demining behaviours and do not expect to be in any way or form compensated if they screw up. Second of all is the food itself that is blend and makes you wonder why it looks so good but got no taste. Third of all the price which is the only upside. I would not reccomend this restaurant and I believe of the mix reviews this restaurant has gotten that some must be bought reviews. It simple put not worthy your time nor money.   Lovely family run restaurant. It seems to operate a two sitting policy on weekend evenings. Excellent food at very reasonable prices. Fish is superb here but on this latest visit I had the grilled mixed pork. Other choices by our party were tuna steaks and lamb chops. All were excellent. When I visited at 1:30pm I was the only foreigner. The tuna fish was great and would be enough for two. It has no WiFi and doesn’t accept credit cards. That’s the only downside.   Disappointing. Veal was tough as the proverbial boots. Veg soup ok. Obviously a popular spot but other than the authentic atmosphere couldn't see why. Waste of a dinner.   Friendly prices and delicious food but the service was not too quick to say it mildly and the place itself was very noisy though we enjoyed to eat here. We could recommend to be there in time because long queue is standing from 7PM and after 9PM still. Very simple but good place.   Wow, just wow. One of the best local places to get the best of what Lagos has to offer. Very non tourist feel too especially because just down the road, the restaurants are plagued with English tourists eating French fries. We felt part of the true culture and the food is to die for.   The food and the service here were both amazing at lunch time. We tried their prawns and their special of the day sea bream (dorada). Their portion sizes are quite large, the fish comes with rice and potatoes. Their service was very welcoming and kind. You have a glimpse of the kitchen here, where the lady chefs do their sorcery.   Oh my goodness - I can see why the tables are jammed together in this restaurant! We have just had the loveliest time there. We ate simple bread, fish pate and sheep's cheese and sipped our beer/ vino verde whilst we awaited our Cataplana for two ; a feast of pork, chorizo, onions,garlic, prawns and clams ++++++ Delicious!!   Very rude and unhelpful staff. I was queuing, waiting for a table, and asked how long would it take to get a table. The waiter ignored for the first time and when I insisted again with the same question, he asked me in a very sarcastic and rude way if I couldn't see that the restaurant was busy.   This place is quite busy on a Friday night. Still managed to get a table with a walk in. Food is good. But after a couple of good restaurants across Portugal it doesn't really stand out. I had some local fish that was good. But a bit chewy. People around seemed to be enjoying the tuna and the salmon.
