  Truly amazing food especially the pork cheek and Octopus rice and granny hat salad. The service was attentive and patient with three young kids (they brought out chalk!). Lots of delicious gluten free options. A fabulous lunch. Highly recommend.   AMAZING little gem in Lisbon located on the cutest street. We went for tapas and they were just incredible. My partner and I shared the eggplant, the butternut squash gnocchi, and the cauliflower in mushroom sauce, ALL of which I’d highly reccomend. He also got the prawns and squid which he loved and I thought looked delightful. MDefinitely get the apples and custard for dessert!! The staff was great and friendly, and the atmosphere was cozy with lots of greenery. Everyone should experience this lovely place!!   A retired couple kicking about, we were actually attracted to the 'green' 'alley' this restaurant is on. A quiet gem of a find. Small and comfortable like a good pair of shoes you keep. A welcoming (English spoken) atmosphere, with excellent service, good food, good presentation, and inexpensive. They let us sample several wines B4 choosing. We split the codfish w kale with tapas recommended by the young (for us :) waitress. A plus, she also gave us tips on other places to visit few visitors know. .... We totally LOVED where she suggested we see the fireworks from on New Years Eve. So fun! We have gone back. Maybe not for young children.   We went here twice in a month. The food is great, except I got some unchewable bits of bacon in my last meal. The service however is quite chaotic, and first time we went there we never got our olives and bread, ordered as an appetizer. The second time, we got them 20 minutes after the order, with no comment or apology. The meal came in after about 45 minutes, but as I mentioned it's pretty good. Apart from that we overheard service and Kitchen argue a few times as we were sitting inside. That's really not needed. But go for the food definitely. Wine was not on menu and I was not surprised to find it super expensive (7€) on my bill…. Also they were super cheap with the pour - like half a glass of wine. Don’t order.   It's not a very comfortable space on the terrace: the chair is on the pavement. Super awkward. The food was good, but very simple. It doesn't deserve the money they charge. They served me a white wine that wasn't very good, already from a opened bottle. The wine in this place is just expensive for something that costs €3 a bottle in the supermarket. What a joke! I think the service is poor and does not deserve e service charge. I spent 30€, only for me, with a salad, a glass of whine and a sandwich LOL. Not going to be back!   Got to say, this is one of the few hidden gems you would experience in Lisbon. The place is quite small but very quaint. The decor fits the atmosphere but best of all is the food. We had several appetizers and a main course of pork steak. The entire course was very flavorful and delicious. Furthermore, I had a mind allergic response and the staff were very helpful and caring.   The place is charming , the staff was really friendly, not too pushy but very reactive when called , there is a various choice of cocktail and the food was succulent! The menu is super vegan friendly. It’s the perfect place to share dishes , we recommend to arrive before 20:00 if you want to eat outside and not waiting for a place to sit.   A gem among the dozens of young/ new restaurants that have opened in and aorund this part of Lisboa over the past 10 years. A Obra looks like an alternative student place AND offers delicious creations at fair prices. The staff is extremely friendly and without attitude (this is worth mentioning in Lisboa). Information on both food and wine were helpful and we both got what worked best for us. I am sorry for the bad quality of these foodies - normally I manage to provide more adecuate illustration. Here the food was really amazing - in particular the starters, one main dish and the desserts. Fine balance and each dish had its twist that took it our of the ordinary. Situated in a quiet beautiful inner street near trendy Cais Du Sodre and Bairro Alto , the restaurant beautifully captures the essence of everything that is liked in Lisbon.   I have dined in many restaurants in Lisbon. I usually don't give reviews for good food. In this case I am making an exception. For one this is food that one could eat in a Michelin Guide restaurant(noting here we ate in much more expensive places and the food was just good). We ended up eating here twice because both times our first options(found via Google) were either full or closed. Both times ALL dishes were exquisite. Highly recommend, no idea why they don't have a 5 in the reviews. The chef is a Mastermind and the combinations of flavours make sense every time. Obrigado!!   After wandering around the city on a Saturday evening losing our hopes to find a spot where to enjoy a nice meal (without a reservation), we were lucky to find this little gem. Our experience at A Obra was great, we immediately fell for the romantic and cozy atmosphere, situated in a small street full of other nice restaurants and bars, with its plants and little lights and many locals eating outside at candlelight.   Got recommended this place for splendid octopus rice. Now I don't know what to say to my friend, because I found the meal to be very disappointing. I've eaten great seafood risotto before and great octopus, my expectations might be too high. The rice was way too salty and had too much oil. There wasn't much octopus in it. The aftertaste wasn't nice. For the price of 14.5 definitely not worth it, add some money and go to a proper fish restaurant (which I just did). I was sitting inside and the smoke from the places outside was coming very strong, so I didn't stay too try chocolate mousse desert.   This place came recommended to us by a chef at Tasca Baldracca and a coworker living in Lisbon. We ended up liking A Obra so much we came twice during our short stay. It's the perfect place to relax and have a slow afternoon, and not a bad spot to bring a toddler. They have a few seats outside on Green Street, which allowed for my toddler to run around and play while we enjoyed our meal in relative peace. Green Street has the best ambiance - a quiet walkway lined with plants, old buildings, low doorways, and cute shops. They have a terrific menu of wines, cocktails, and petiscos. We ordered all of the petiscos on the menu and they were all exceptional. Great wine bar food. Not to mention, the apple mojito mocktail is very refreshing. We came in the early afternoon, around 1:30-2:30 both times and it wasn't crowded, but we did make reservations in advance the first time by text messaging.   Had a lovely afternoon at A Obra. Great cocktail and food. Unfortunately a very rude couple was sitting next to my table. The place was full and the staff was doing their best to keep the custumers happy, but this couple was demanding and disrespectfull with the employees. I don't usualy make reviews, but in this particular occasion i want to say how well treated i was by the servers, some people should just order delivery, specialy if they doesn't know how a restaurant service works.   We had a drink and some afternoon snack. The green street is very lovely and nice to sit in and just relax. The place located in the middle of the green street has inside and outside sitting area. We had sparkling water and cheese with bread & fresh fries to snack. The food was good. Unfortunately, the waiters haven’t been the most welcoming. We had to observe very uncomfortable situation and it didn’t feel at ease.   Location is really nice and cozy. Service was good however the food is another thing. It looks very nice but the codfish was very fat, the pesto was way overtuned with garlic. And in general a lot of greese. I’m feeling sick now and I smell like a walking garlic. The octopus rice was very chewy and not nice to eat. My partner also feels sick after the food.   I wish I had taken pictures of the food but I was busy staving off meltdowns from kids. Everything was delicious and inventive. The cheese dish had a delicious accompanying jam with a cinnamon flavor. The beef starter and pork and chicken mains were extremely flavorful.   Highly recommend. We went there in a week day but they were still busy. We were a table of 4 and 3 of us had dietary requirements. The waiter was nice, helpful and super patient with us.   We went there with high expectations after reading so many good reviews but unfortunately it was a disappointment. They forgot to bring our main dish and when we asked for it, they said it’d arrive in 15 minutes. After 45 minutes, we still didn’t receive anything and when we finally asked for the bill they noticed we never had it and they brought it 15 more minutes later. All while we were sitting and waiting outside in 10 degrees and one of the waitresses almost an attitude about it. I’m not sure what for? Sorry my food was late and I waited outside for more than an hour??? Anyway, beside the service, the food overall was not impressive; starters arrived luke warm/cold; although the taste was ok, the temperature was definitely a hindrance. And the portions are pretty small. I feel like the good reviews are all fake.   Visited A Obra with my partner and we had a wonderful experience! We felt very welcome and at home the first moment we asked the owner for a table for two outside. The owner chose our dishes for us (as requested) and did so perfectly. These people clearly love what they do. Staff were warm and welcoming, food was good and in general it's been a joy to grab a table outside, curl up with my book, and enjoy a glass of wine and tapas before the Green street came alive and noisy with locals. I ordered grilled shrimps and they were good but lacking any special flavor and balance. The veins in shrimps were not removed, so I had to do the job myself which I didn’t quite enjoy. Overall the experience was good, but for that price I would expect a little bit more of an effort from the place.   I am absolutely in love with this place, after getting a recommendation from local I made it my mission to have dinner at A Obra even if it meant waiting two hours for a table which it did. The wait was well worth it though because the food is scrumptious and incredibly affordable.   Incredible food at an amazing price. We stayed in lisbon for a week and this was by far our favorite place to eat. The bruschetta was especially delicious.   Tiny spot with big style and easy vibe. Every dish served up was entertaining and flavorful, done with visual excellence. Shrimp, gazpacho, pork cheeks, Caldeirada (fish stew) all came in first.
