  Restaurant recommended by AirBNB host. Very happy we went there. We were seated right away. Had the octopus, sardines and mixed meat platter. Best dish was the octopus. Fries from mixed meat dish was the best plus the grill flavour on the meat was great. Sardines were well cooked. All was very reasonably priced. Would definitely return.   Good food. Typical Portuguese dishes. Very reasonable prices. The only downside if eating outside is the constant ruination of your dinner by smoke from smokers and vapers eating at the other tables or hanging around on the street.   We had done much research to find local taskas near Alfama to try Portuguese cuisine. However we stumbled on this restaurant by chance when walking back home after a long day in Belem and decided to have dinner. We ate here every evening after that. We tried a bunch of options for appetizers, main course and even dessert.. all great! The servers were excellent and wine list is also 10/10 (their house vino verde was delicious). They are busy but with good reason! Be patient and make a reservation if you are able to! Thank you to the owner and staff for the great memories.   The best local restaurant in Lisbon with reasonable price. We got this restaurant recommended by our lovely Airbnb host. And we an amazing lunch there. We ordered sardines, garlic prawns, blood pudding and seafood rice soup and clams. It took a while for the food to arrive but it was a busy time and the waiter was very apologetic about it. The food was delicious, I had the best seafood rice soup I have ever had in my life. Although we had a few glasses of wine and ordered lots of food, when we got the bill we were surprised by how cheap it was. Def come back here again next time we in Lisbon.   Would not recommend the Giblets dish it was not tender at all I had to return, they charged me half price for it. Octopus is ok, one piece was especially tough, it was hard to cut. Roasted potatoes and garlic sauce were the best thing about it. Also tried the grilled sardines which was too salty for me and not gutted. I know you don’t have to gut sardines and it can be cooked as a whole but that taste is not for me especially when they were this big. I was disappointed found it overrated but it seemed popular by locals and tourists.   It's a very unique restaurant right by the busting Lisbon streets. The food is great, a lot of choices between seafood, fish or meat and the ambience is amazing with live music offered some days.   The soup was creamy, ok, never had before with lettuce leaves inside, the bread was nice, and so was the CocaCola and water… the meat was disgusting, raw, you can hear the cow doing mooooh… full of nerves and yellow fat, uncooked, like biting a thin piece of tier.   Authentic Portuguese food, large portions. We got the prawns, octopus and steak, steak was very dry with no seasoning. Octopus was chewy but good.   I found out this place by chance. We had dinner in the dehor, very cozy and comfortable. The food was lovely: above all the grilled octopus with potato, juicy and tender. We tried also grilled sardins, octopus salad and arroz de marisco. All courses very very nice.   I went to Muralha today with my husband and my children, aged 1 and 3years old. The staff has been extremely kind and friendly, especially with the children. The food was amazing and the prices very reasonable. We spent 16 euros for four main courses, three desserts and drinks. We chose typical Portuguese fish mains and ate all of them. My favourite was the rice with seafood, my husband loved the cod and mixed grilled fish and the children were crazy for the grilled salmon. Everything was fresh and made from scratch. We sat outside, below some marvellous vineyard branches. I definitely recommend this place to anyone who want to experience the real Portuguese food and to those who look for a child friendly place.   We came upon this restaurant during our food tour. Out of all the restaurants we visited on the food tour, this was by far my favourite restaurant. Everything we ate here was delicious from the homemade jam to the cheeses to the veal sandwich. A true authentic Portuguese food experience for your taste buds! I wanted to come back here later on in our trip, but we ran out of time and never made it back. On my next trip to Lisbon, I will definitely be coming to dine here. Highly recommend!   Little place next to the not that noisy road. They always have Reservation plate placed on the tables but the tables are free - maybe it is because they want to seat you. We were sitting outside where the atmosphere of vine hanging above your heads will definitely get you. The insides were pretty smelly from the kitchen. Just to mention, during our visit, there was only one guy serving the whole place so be patient, he is very obliging 🙂 For drinking we went for white and red wine, both very good - menu has no wine card, beers and drinking options but you need to ask, they have pretty much everything (sangria, fanta, sprite etc). Our choice for starter were clams - amazing stuff. I do recommend that! Main dish - mix of grilled fishes and the second sea bass, both with whole baked potatoes and boiled broccoli (side dish is included). You can really smell the freshness of fish and real grill from the plate! But be careful with the grilled mix because two out of three fishes where whole package - bones, organs, head, etc. We paid 40eurs including tip (bread and water is not free). Mas tome cuidado com a mistura grelhada porque dois em cada três peixes são embalados inteiros - ossos, órgãos, cabeça, etc. Pagamos 40eurs incluindo gorjeta (pão e água não são gratuitos).

  Absolutely charming and delicious! Everything was soooo good! Sheep cheese - both melted & cold was perfect with the delightful bread. The sangria is a must. We had a bit of everything: olives, beef, veal, fish & shrimp - they were all perfect! The oil with the garlic shrimp on the bread.... oh my! Do not miss the desert - we had the rice pudding - but you just can't go wrong! The staff was very welcoming & kind.   Visiting Lisbon for a few days before our cruise, staying in Alfama area, on our first night out we passed this unpretentious restaurant and it was packed with loads of folks waiting. On our second night, we were turned away by the owner because he had no more tables. He was gracious enough to offer to make reservations, and it's a good thing, tonight there was a table of 20 in the outdoor area, and all the other tables were full. I can see why it's so popular.   This was the best meal we had in Lisbon. Amazing value for really good food. Between us we had a prawn starter, then octopus and sea bass and all the seafood was fantastic (the prawns especially - get the A Muralha style option). We were shocked by how inexpensive it was given the quality of the food. Highly recommended. We went in February so out of season and they were still turning people away, I'm sure in the summer you have to book or get in early!   We happened upon this cozy restaurant one evening in Lisbon in the rain. We were seated on the covered patio and received pleasant, unobtrusive service. We enjoyed bread and olives to start.   Great little restaurant just down the street from where we were staying. Needed a place to dine for last evening here in Lisbon and saw that this place had good reviews. We were able to sit outside on a nice 70° October evening and enjoyed a liter of house wine. they have a good selection on their menu tonight we chose to start with a couple salads which were very tasty and at least it wasn’t iceberg lettuce. My wife had the Seabass which she enjoyed because it also came with a vegetable. I had the chorizo and the shrimp which was supposed to be the garlic shrimp but somehow I got this version but it was fine.   I was really looking forward to going here, but was very disappointed. I was told our order would take 50 mins to prepare ( which I was fine with) but after being seated someone only came to get our drinks order 21mins later, drinks and bread arrived about 15mins afterwards, and the main meal ( which was my second choice because they did not have the thing I went all the way there for) arrived about 30 mins later. Obviously to get someone’s attention for the bill was a further wait. Unpleasant service, and the food was definitely not worth the wait.   The food was excellent but, unfortunately, the service was off the day we went. The staff seemed confused about our order (4 people) and they forgot the main course for one of our party... then, they seemed to blame us for the mix up... a little weird and unprofessional. But we would go back for the great food, nice location in Alfama, and cool outdoor seating. It was the week of the intense heat wave so maybe the serving staff was just a little off their game.   Pros: the sheep cheese starter was AMAZING, the sea bass was good, and the wine was cheap. Roasted broccoli was delicious, just wish there was more. Cute ambiance and friendly service.   Unfortunately, we hadn’t luck with this place. We came after a local recommendation and we chose salmon and stockfish with vegetables. Unfortunately, the salmon and all vegetables which was some cooked potatoes and two broccolis for each person were cold. The potatoes even tasted very old and not good at all. We couldn’t eat it and told the servant these. They apologized for it but that’s it. No discount or something else. We were super disappointed even it wasn’t exactly a restaurant.   Feels like I’m mostly handing out 5/5 stars in Lisbon but there’s nothing to complain about here. It’s a local place, serving classic dishes done right. The servers seem like a hard working bunch but not without having fun. They joked around a lot even though us was very busy, but not in a way that service was held up. I think this is a good measure to the general vibe here. We felt very welcome and as it was very busy, were warned the food would be a bit slow to arrive. That being said service was still pretty quick to our opinion and we were super pleased with the dishes that had been chosen by us with some help from our (by now) good friend, the waiter. I could go on about the food, but I’ll add some photos, those should help more. As most Portuguese dishes; the look isn’t refined but that doesn’t mean the taste is crude or basic. Every course was delicious. The wine selection also didn’t disappoint. Only suggestion is taking one slice of flan for two, because after a dinner here that should be more than enough.   The welcoming was VERY cold. Food was okay, but with this kind of service... its not enough.   My favorite "tasca" in Lisbon. I first went there, as a tourist, in 2018. It was our first dinner in town and I had the best "polvo a lagareiro". Now, living in Lisbon, I come back as soon as possible. I've fallen in love with the "arroz de mariscos" and "morcela com laranja", also with a very pleasant staff and authentic decoration.   We got a veritable sh*tload of food for a very reasonable price. Waiters were friendly and happy to look after us. Packed up anything we didn’t eat for our breakfast the next day which we were very happy about. My only gripe is that the menu should have clearly stated that fish choices are subject to what is fresh and available on the night as only two fish options were available out of a choice of about eight. Obviously, I appreciate that they refused to serve fish that wasn’t fresh off the boat but it’s still a bit disconcerting to be told when ordering that the choice is either, sardines or sea bass.   VERY DISAPPOINTING last dinner in Portugal. Had made reservations for a Monday night due to no availability the first time I went. The pics of the food in the reviews looked delicious and truly Portuguese and so I was super stoked to try this place However none of that delicious looking food was actually on the menu, all had been specials from past times. So the waitress hurried me into ordering because she was about to take a large parties order and said I have to wait over an hour if I didn’t hurry up and order. So the food, the olives and bread were good one star a piece. And I got a cheese augratin appetizer which was literally just sliced cheese half melted, still in the slices, with some dried oregano sprinkled on top. Then the mixed meat grill, recommended as a specialty. Hmm....French fries, white rice and the thinnest piece of cow I’ve seen with a Portuguese sausage. There was nothing in this meal that required or tasted like any skill had been put into the cooking. Basically all wasted calories. Lessons learned - don’t let the waitress rush you into ordering and if your looking for something special that you see in a pic make sure they have it that night.   Sit outside. Lovely atmosphere, great staff. Do, or don't, get the Verde wine for breakfast. Couldn't stop ourselves having another. Had mixed feelings on the food. The garlic and butter sauce the prawns came with was supreme, it coated them like cellophane.   I thought this place had really good food and service at a decent price point. We ordered the salmon, Portuguese beef, bread, olives, and two glasses of sangria and the total was €28.90. The main dishes were about €10 each and came with a large portion of meat, potatoes and steamed broccoli or rice and batatas. Both of our dishes were quite salty but I'm American so I loved it. Finally a place that uses salt. My fish was cooked perfectly and the salt made a nice crust on the grill. My partner's steak was medium rare and so tender and delicious. The sangria was also good and had fruit and spices in it. Overall a very enjoyable meal. It did take about an hour to get our food but they were busy and had free WiFi so I didn't mind. Good place.   i’ve had better school dinners!!! do not come here if you are vegetarian! seems like you’re getting a bargain and then their signature vegetarian dish (literally named after the restaurant) turns out to be shop bought pasta in a tiny bowl. my ‘2 cheese’ pizza was so obviously bought in a supermarket. the 1 star was for the staff as they were friendly yet the one waiter would not let us order wine until the male of the family was back from the toilet. also was a bit pushy with giving us food we did not want and trying to give us more expensive beer and vodka. worst meal I have had to endure in portugal and probably back in england as well. wish i’d just gone to the supermarket.
