Had dinner reservations here one night and enjoyed our food. The croquettes were delicious and maybe my favorite part. Both the octopus salad and the seafood paella were good. The caramel port flan was the best dessert we ordered (though a bit small). I recommend the crema catalana as well, especially if you’re a fan of that dish. The space is very pretty and I think the designers did a great job with the space—lots of warm copper and red tones throughout in a way I haven’t seen before. The service was generally good, but something about it came across just a tad stuffy, cold, or just a little wooden. I can’t put my finger on it exactly. My wife and I were exploring the Principe Real neighborhood and noticed a beautiful restaurant, Tapisco Lisboa. On a busy night we were lucky to score two seats at the bar, which gave us an opportunity to observe a crack kitchen crew headed by Chef Bruno Valinhas. They orchestrated a first rate meal for us where everything was perfect (I am a former restauranteur). I can see why they have been Michelin rated the last 6 years! We can't wait to go back. Overall not too bad, but not quite as good as expected. I feel like this was a stand-out restaurant about 3-4 years ago when the Lisbon restaurant scene was not as developing as today, but has since lagged a bit behind in quality. I felt like all the dishes were not bad, but just a bit not good enough. A 4/5 on almost everything, except the Carabineros, which were very good. Spanish food, if not done well, is always just a bit ehh, if you know the real deal. Tortilla tried to be runny, but it was just basically not even cooked inside at all. Highly recommend, it was an exceptional meal and service. I came here for a late lunch and I was able to get a seat immediately. The service was awesome and they were very attentive. I appreciate that the server was honest and made great recommendations on what to order for one person. I am not a big seafood fanatic and I originally came for the paella, but the server said it would be too much for me. So I ordered the tuna tartare and croquettes. Seafood is the star at this restaurant and I would recommend to order something else and not the croquettes. I also ordered as recommended the bacalao and was not disappointed. I was staying close by and it was crowded every evening. I recommend going for lunch if you decide to go last minute and you’re horrible at making reservations. Highly recommend and a must in Lisbon! Lovely Spanish and Portuguese fusion restaurant. Every dish became our favorite as we tried them. We started off with the croquetas de Jamón(not ibérico) and Tuna Tartare: a beautifully crunchy, Jamón forward croqueta that was delicious, alongside a fresh and acidic Tuna with creamy avocado and wasabi. We accompanied this starters with a glass of white wine and their Vermouth, both of which were great. Then came the Gambas al Ajillo. Please say yes when they ask if you'd like bread with the Gambas, the sauce might as well be good. Perfectly soft shrimp, light but flavorful garlic and olive oil sauce. I recommend squeezing the red peppers into the sauce if you'd like more spice. This was in first place for our favorite dish until the next. Then came the Bacalao a Bras. This dish was amazing! Having experience some amazing food elsewhere in Lisbon we looking forward to lunch at Tapisco. However it was a very disappointing experience -service was extremely poor given its reputation. Arrived at 12 for lunch and ordered 4 dishes service was slow although we were the first to arrive . with 2 of the 4 dishes we ordered were incorrect - rather than apologising another waiter came to our table questioning our order which left us feeling that it was our mistake. - after 1hr 30 we only ate 3 dishes and no main dish as we had to leave to travel to the airport. What we did eat was underwhelming- €70 euros for 3 tapas portions and 2 glasses of wine- with no apologies offered for our bad experience. From other poor reviews that have been submitted by disappointed customers it's apparent from our experience that Tapisco don't act on these reviews. I would recommend those considering dining here first seek out the many less well know but excellent restaurants Lisbon has to offer. Food was okay - octopus salad really tasty but the rest of the tapas were not that special; definitely had better ones in a non-Michelin restaurant. Cocktail Principe also delicious upon recommendation. All in all an OK experience but not sure I’d come a second time. We went for a late lunch on a Monday afternoon, tapas seemed like a good choice since we weren’t looking for a bunch of food. Had quite an awkward and unpleasant experience here. We came a few minutes after 12pm (they are supposedly open then) and saw 4-5 people waiting outside. I decided to go inside to add myself to the waiting list (when we came the previous night that’s what everyone did), but was immediately told off by the staff inside that they were not opened yet and “Don’t you see the people waiting outside”. I apologized immediately and went outside. When they decided to open a few minutes later, they let 1 party with reservations in and 1 party without in and the rest of the restaurant was empty. Without saying a word to us, we waited outside for 10 more minutes thinking they might be waiting to see if other reservations showed up (no one else did) but in the end no one came out to speak to us or explain why we were waiting outside when most of the restaurant except the 2 tables were empty. We decided to leave since it was awkward, and we didn’t feel comfortable or welcomed to enter the restaurant to ask. Overall, not what we excepted from a Michelin stared restaurant. Started off great and ended terribly. When our bill came, we were told they were only accepting cash. They did not mention this when we arrived. We had no cash. My husband had to leave me alone in the restaurant for 20 minutes while he ran around town trying to find an ATM that would accept his foreign card. Michelin Star rated restaurant and bar, definitely make a reservation. We were able to walk in right when they opened, but some people were turned away and it quickly filled up from reservations. The service and ambience were impeccable. We got the tomato bread with jamon, and the marinated fish for an appetizer, both we recommend especially the marinated fish. Also got the salted cod with potatoes, which was very good however we had higher expectations being a Michelin Star. Overall, a great experience. We turned up with no reservation and they gave us a table for 5 in an hour time. So far so good. The table however was meant for 4, so 3 of us had to be very tightly squeezed, while another person had to be literally on the entrance door. The food was quite expensive as expected from the menu outside, however it was quite disappointing. Comparable dishes in other places were much cheaper and much tastier too. The gambas al ajillo were quite nice. The cuttlefish tempura a bit bland. The tortilla a bit tasteless and dry. The cod lagareiro decent but a bit dry. Maybe my favorite Iberian restaurant in Lisbon. The food is just otherworldly good. Their paella negra and pan con tomate are hard to top. Very hard to book online, but always managed to seat as a walk-in although having to wait outside. It’s a mix between Spanish and Portuguese food, the place is super nice and its in the michellin guide 2023 but I was disappointed because this is a combination that does not work. Food is good but overpriced, the Spanish part is not very good food like the croquetas or tortilla española, but the portugese part is a bit better. I don’t really recommend this restaurant unless you’re very curious about this Portuñol mix. Tapisco had been on my list for quite some time so I was really excited when I managed to get a reservation at the bar. It seemed everything went wrong upon check in: - we were seated at the table so we didn’t get the bar experience that we wanted. I enjoy watching the chefs cook and there was no explanation for the change. No worries, no complaints from our part. - 3 out of the 4 recommended dishes were boring & tasteless. The only dish we liked was the one we wanted to try - bread with tomato and bellota ham. - one of the things I enjoy most when visiting Portugal is the genuine friendliness of locals. However, our two waiters were anything but. One of them was the manager who gave us terrible recommendations, he also has zero customer resolution skills. The younger waiter is in need of training. There’s no reason why he should rolls his eyes when I politely ask to pay with two cards. The experience they provided was not a reflection of their Michelin status and I hope they take this review seriously so future guests have a much better experience. I don’t think I’ll ever return but I will share I had an excellent dinner just a min walk at Rosamar. The waitresses were incredibly welcoming and the food was a much better reflection of what restaurants in Portugal are really like. Fully booked for 2 weeks, I came in with high expectations. Decent food and service but horrendously overpriced unfortunately. Got lucky today as we were able to get in at the bar last minute. EVERYTHING was memorable! The “tortilla de papas” was the worst i had in my life. Super dry and tasteless, so white and plane. We returned it and complained about it. We were charged for it nonetheless. Out of several Michelin recommended restaurants in Portugal, this was the only one we did not like. The food was very good but neither original nor creative - just usual dishes like tuna tartare, garlic shrimps etc without any innovation. The service was busy, unattentive, and made us uncomfortable by constantly prioritising other tables. We found it really rude (and uncomparable to any other restaurant we visited in Portugal) that they charged my card with a service fee without asking if I want to tip them or at least if I was happy with the service. Disappointing experience last night. I put my name on a waiting list at 9.30pm and was told it would be very slow. restaurant is super busy, I understand. At 10.30pm I'm told the table is available and it will need 5mins, which turned out to be 45mins. We essentially ate at 11.30pm (!) The waiter was no longer willing to pay us attention and the food was mediocre - we had ham croquetas, garlic prawns and Eggs Mexidos. This message is not aimed to the staff in place, they must have been exhausted - it is aimed at the ownership/management: if you want to handle a good quality of food and service until late at night (needed in Lisboa!), you have to allocate better ressources to your team. We arrived at the restaurant at around 9 pm, the restaurant seemed to be full, but the responsible told us we could have a table in round about 30 minutes. We agreed and told him we would go to a near bar to have a drink and he said no problem, he would call us when the table is free. After not even 5 minutes he called us, while we were sitting and already ordered in a near bar a drink, so we finished quickly and went to the restaurant. When we arrived he told us we only could seat at the bar. We told him we wanted a table, but he said it’s not possible. Even though that was not the deal, we agreed and asked afterwards for a table, as we saw that some people were finished with the dinner. It seemed to be a big problem to move us from the bar to the table, but after a while they agreed. While we were sitting and having dinner, they waiters were like pressuring us and asking if they could bring the next plate. And so in a moment we had the main course, the dessert and the bill at the same moment at the table. We have to say the waiters were helpful and friendly and the food was good, but the way the "responsible" treated us was not correct and in my opinion not necessary. We would recommend the restaurant, but we think it’s not a good attitude to treat clients like this. Good luck for the future!! We were one of the couples that stood outside the door thinking that there was another entrance because it was so close to a table. GO THROUGH THE BOLD RED DOOR. My wife and I took up spots at the bar. The servers were very attentive and helped as we struggled through trying to speak Portuguese (even though everyone spoke English, we chose to struggle). All of the food was amazing. The highlight of the meal was the Duck Breast. Highly recommend. The wine pairing was also very good, and we went out and tried to find a bottle to take home. Service was a bit slow at the beginning, but great in general as the servers picked up quickly and were quite attentive. We had 3 dishes and unfortunately they didn’t quite live up to our expectations. The squid ink paella was too salty and while the rice was cooked right, there was too much stock left, which made the rice too moist. We would usually would never queue to get in a resturant, but with a no booking policy for dinner here, it is the only option. And with a super efficient cocktail/bar server, it was a pleasure. Drinks are served through a hatch onto the street and add to a clubby feel while waiting for a table. Once in and seated, the food comes as it is ready, again usually a pet hate of mine, but seems to work here. Food and service were excellent, best we had in Lisbon, which is saying something as pretty much all a good standard. Definitely worth the queue! The fried cuttlefish appetizer was delicious. I am not sure if I have tried cuttlefish before but the consistency was very much like a calamari that was lightly breaded. I walked past Tapisco when deciding where to grab a lunch, and it looked enticing. I like to eat a good lunch so sat down in the beautiful restaurant to eat to my heart’s content. The décor was a mix between old-world charm and modern dining. I was impressed. I had plenty of time, so put together a meal that I could be proud of. For starters, I chose the tomato bread with Jamón Ibérico de Bellota as this is one of my favourites. It was exquisite and complemented the Marinated Olives I had chosen alongside. Then it came to the mains. I had a feeling they were all going to be good. The Tuna Tartar with avocado and wasabi "eggs" was delightful and showed off the skills of a master chef. Seafood is so hard to get right so I was delighted when the Cuttlefish Tempura with coriander and lime mayonnaise came and was cooked to perfection. Staying on the seafood theme, I went for the Salted Cod "à Brás" with confit egg yolk and it was the best salted cod I have tasted in my life. I also ordered the Iberian Pork Presa and the Grilled Vegetables with salsa Romesco and they were in perfect harmony with all of the other dishes in my selection. I still had room for dessert, so opted for the Portuguese almond cake with mandarin sorbet, which seemed to be the choice of most in the restaurant. The food is very good, simple dishes but with it's own unique touch. We had scrambled eggs, tuna loin and iberian pork presa.
