  Pretty sure parts of our fish got stolen (eaten by the waiters??) or the fish was swimming about with parts missing?? Compare our photo to the YouTubers photo and it looks very suspicious. Would recommend to get the sea bass as harder to steal from. Or have weird looking fish. Also portion of potatoes was very small to other tables and our table was the only table with no bread given. Racist?? Or the waiters seemed to think they can determine how much we eat? Real shame as the food was somewhat tasty but the only seasoning they know is salt so be prepared to be thirsty. The restaurant is very popular so go early (if you want to get scammed…) as they get lots of regulars so they will treat tourists poorly.   This is a must do if you’re in town! Best seafood ever and the waitress was incredibly nice and helpful. You can really taste the quality of the ingredients and the prices are the best.   Love your life in this super authentic portugies Restaurant. We had lunch here within portugies pensionars. So it shows us it is very local!! Service was super friendly, ambiente quite historical (old stone restaurant) and very delicious fish food. I loved the mussels and fish with green sauce. Attention Lots of onions and garlic!   To be honest, I think that this restaurant is in my Top 5! We took Octopus salad as a starter and Salmon with potatoes as a main dish. For a dessert the choice wasn't easy, but we finally decided to try one cake with almonds and one cream with eggs. Everything was simply delicious!   This place is always busy. The staff are fabulous. This is the first time I was disappointed with the food. It was cold. We ordered 2 portions of the same meal and the table next to us had one. His one portion was nearly as much as our 2 portions. When we mentioned it to the waiter he agreed and said it was because he was a man and we were 2 women. The service was also fabulous are waiter was so friendly and helpful and happy to serve us! We had to wait at the beginning as came as peak time but the waiter was very efficient and got us a table in 10-15 minutes with about 6 families ahead of us! 100% recommended do not leave without visiting!   What a pleasant surprise to find this restaurant after walking along the beach. We were told there were many restaurants along the road near the beach and we found the perfect place. Great atmosphere, service and food. We started with jumbo shrimp, then had monk fish with rice which was good enough for two. Delicious meals all around. Highly recommend. The cod could serve more than two people (we shared a single serving.) it was so fresh, full of garlic and olive oil with tasty potatoes. The sardines were a first for me.   Went there as per recommendation by by our toure guide. The place was packed and made us think it is for a reason but it was a disappointment. Ordered octopus salad, fish, appetisers and wine. The guy who served us was very reluctant and unwilling to answer on our questions about the food. This was a bit unplesanat as the menu was not very self explanatory.   Just landed and in holiday heaven right away! This place is a place to be for fish lovers who also love a vibrant and soulful place to eat. I went there at lunch time and had to wait in line for about 25 min. - it was worth every minute. The service is amazing. They are funny, very lovely and have a great spirit.   Were recommended to come this area for seafood by our hotel. Reviews from Google attracted us. Food was great and fresh. Price was also much lower than prior other touristy restaurants in main city of porto. We came early just before lunch opening hours but seats got taken up fast at 12 and 1230. Shrimp appetiser was so wow, it tastes fusion and oriental , can't quite describe the unique but was herby and tasty full of flavor. Ordered also appetiser fish soup which was tasty but a little too salty. I had grilled squid and salad which was not bad. Partner ordered grilled seabass he said was so soft and good, best fish he tasted with tasty grilled potatoes. Green wine served as house wine was only few euros but the best green wine I had so far with generous quantity. The downside is that it doesnt accept reservation, and I had to wait 1h during lunchtime in Sunday. But….the wait was worth the food and services here.   There are many amazing fresh seafood spots in Matoshinos. But the constant line of people consistently waiting outside got my attention…. Food - especially seafood - here is terrific; great menu and wine list. Very friendly accommodating staff although I suspect they don’t accept reservations. Prices are significantly better here than the fancier seafood spots along Rua Herois da Franca’s impressive restaurant row. If there is a crowd outside, put your name down; walk across the street to the interesting craft beer bar. This place is worth it.   This is my third visit to Porto and I discovered this restaurant on my first visit. Since then, every time I return to this place to eat fresh fish and experience great service. Today's visit was not an exception - we had fish soup, octopus salad and fantastic grilled turbot.   Very nice restaurant with a great choice of seafood in particular. The seabass was delicious, as was the salad and the octopus! For appetizers, we had the octopus salad, clams and fish soup, which were all fantastic. But truth be told, I'm still dreaming about the clams. For mains, we had the swordfish and sea bream. For dessert, we had the Natas do Céu. Christina and family are very hospitable and their passion for food comes through.   If we could give this a 4.5 we would! Service was personable, and the food was delicious. My only qualm is that the portion sizes were just too big! We got the shrimp to start, no direction on the menu but i think it came in a lovely soy / chili sauce and was delicious. The octopus salad was lovely and was complemented with a olive and onion dressing. For mains, we got the shellfish rice as a half of portion. This honestly could have feed 3-4 people. It was delicious but a shame to waste it. My partner got the sea bass which was lovely, although a tad plain. I wish they would have asked us too de-bone fish, although not sure if they do this service? Overall, the price was more than reasonable €30 which included wine, starters and main.   Quite possibly one of the best meals I've ever had. The food is exquisite and the service is friendly. The atmosphere is rustic traditional and absolutely lovely.   Absolutely amazing and some of the tastiest food we have had in Porto. The pawns, simply advertised as "Shrimp" on the menu, are the best we've ever had. Grilled and served with 'Mother's Sauce', which I can't even start to describe, it looked like everyone in the restaurant had ordered a portion or 2.   It has been one of the best if not the best meal during the whole 2-weeks trip in Portugal. If you are in Porto this is the "must go" place to have a meal. We have ordered shrimps, fish and octopus and everything was awesome. It is really difficult to describe, but the food was just great. Also the prices are pretty low up there, for the food and a bottle of wine we paid around 35-40 euros. Totally recommend!   Excellent food, we were amazed by the great tase of fresh fish. There is a lady in the restaurant that speaks english and spanish. We had the clams for the starter (I could eat those on a daily basis) and grilled fish for The main course. We were with a 10 months old baby, and they recommeded a sweet fish, so our baby can eat as well. Indeed child friendly, from having a baby chair to chatting with the baby and being open to cook something for her as well (vegetables that were not in the menu, with no salt). We liked it so much that we went there 2 times to eat. The bill was around 40 euro each time, which I do not consider high, thinking back of how much and good food we ate.   Easily one my favourite experiences in Portugal, i ate here alone on the first day after fisherman are prohibited to fish. The owner told me that she could serve sardines but they'd be frozen and not fresh, and suggested the cuttlefish with its own ink inside instead. 8euros for two huge cuttlefish, perfectly tender, freshly grilled with an onion and herb oil dressing with a pile of cooked vegetables. Seriously so simple but so good. Really would recommend here for prices, service and value.
