  The most un authentic Italian i have ever been too. As you can see i dont write reviews but the popularity of this place to eat has absolutely bamboozled me. To start we ordered garlic mushrooms which came in a metal dish with 1000 tinned mushrooms in a pool of hot water. This was also weirdly topped with a pizza base lid. Maybe they ran out of lids? I also ordered one of the most expensive Pizzas on the menu "Bianca" consisting of Ham, Buratta, pesto and postachio. Yet i was served what seemed to be a Frozen oven pizza with Buratta chucked on top and a whole pack of un cooked supermarket ham. There was 0 pistachio and Pesto in sight. (See picture) We were also never asked if the food was ok, probably because deep down they knew it wasnt! Do not be fooled by how busy the restaurant is and dont fall into the curiosity as to why there was a que trying to get a seat. I did order a large beer though and it was definitely large. Talvez eles tenham ficado sem tampas? Pedi também uma das Pizzas mais caras do menu "Bianca" composta por Presunto, Buratta, pesto e postachio. Mesmo assim, me serviram o que parecia ser uma pizza congelada no forno com Buratta por cima e um pacote inteiro de presunto de supermercado não cozido. Não havia pistache e pesto à vista. (Ver foto) Também nunca nos perguntaram se a comida estava boa, provavelmente porque no fundo eles sabiam que não estava! Não se deixe enganar pelo quão ocupado o restaurante está e não caia na curiosidade de saber por que houve uma fila tentando conseguir um lugar. Eu pedi uma cerveja grande e era definitivamente grande.

  Probably one of the worst restaurants I've visited in 55 years on god's green earth. Waiters couldn't care less if you liked the "food" - they wouldn't deviate from the menu, didn't ask whether the pizza was ok and certainly didn't register that more than half was left with me telling them it was disgusting. Foul, soggy vegetables on mass produced, flavour-free base with red smear of tasteless passata. Utterly horrible. How on earth is this place getting positive reviews? People, go and eat at a proper pizzeria, coz this ain't it. If you're vegan, you will rue the day you entered this establishment.   One of the best ice cream i have had, Staff were ok, had to wait for a few minutes just to get attended by someone, since i spoke English. But what matters most is the ice cream, i had 3 scoops of different flavours. Milk chocolate, cookies and pastel de nata, the best on was cookies. Worth every euro.   I first visited this place 6 years ago on holiday and returned to portimao this summer. I was so glad to see the restaurant doing well. We had dinner at 8pm and it was quite busy but we managed a table for 2 by walking in. During peak season booking is advised. The pasta portions are big and filling. The garlic bread with cheese is made so quickly and tastes very good. Service is good and quick.   I personally didn't feel welcome at all. I'm a solo traveller and unfortunately I have a gluten intolerance. Despite online it says this restaurant is gluten free friendly, it is everything but friendly. After a while another waiter came back to took the order i already made saying that black pasta is not Gf they can do spaghetti (which the previous waiter said they run out)... So at the end i got the spaghetti but was more like a soup because the longest spaghetto was maybe 1.5cm. Long story short GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.   Amazing ice cream, great interior design, menu looks delicious but we havent tried anything but desserts. After today's experience I am very disappointed. Waiter was not bothered at all to come and take the order, check if everything was ok or offer us desserts menu, I had to find him myself and ask for everything. We were waiting quite long time for our meal, not easy with two hungry children. My pasta (chicken tagliatelle) wasn't amazing but the worst thing was to find three pieces of octopus in it so it looks like the pan was not properly cleaned after preparing another dish.   Beautiful Italien Restaurant with big plates. Even the starters are rich enough to be a meal. I had the vino blanco de la casa which was average and had much much acid but after fit well with de gambas. The hygiene-concept seems functional and the waiters are polite and show a very welcoming behavior.   I would rate it 4 stars if not for the unexcusably filthy bathrooms. For a restaurant of this caliber, one would expect a higher standard of cleanliness, especially during times of COVID-19. In my first visit, I blamed the Customers since it was around 10pm. In my second visit, the place had just opened for the evening and the toilets were already disgusting. Makes me wonder about the status of the kitchen, TBH. The food is good but I won't come back again unless management responds to this review and commits to fixing the situation.   We visited last night Thursday 17th Jan 2020 and have been coming to this restaurant for over 10years . We brought along 2 friends with us and after building this restaurant up (we’ve spoke of it many times to them ), they were not overly impressed. For 3/4 of us the food was lovely as usual however my friend ordered the Dolce Vita salad , which was presented poorly and for the price was a small portion, it had minimal sauce (she had to search for it ) and if was very dry. Service - for the 1st time ever was poor and the restaurant was not busy . We noticed 2 new waiters who one 1st of all gave us the menu in Portuguese, this had never happened before so had to wave the menu about to catch attention to get it changed . The waiters never asked us for a drinks order whilst choosing our food , this is something we were always used to , we had to beckon the waiter across then ordered. On serving our food , one of us had Lasagne another had Spaghetti , there was no black pepper offered , no salt or Parmesan cheese , we had to ask for it from the waiter. No doubt my husband and I will continue to return to Dolce Vita and would not let this put us off , but last night there was a few little disappointing things which we were not used to and thought we should feed this back .   One of my favourites Italian restaurants, which I visit every time I'm in Portimão. Situated in the main pedonal street, the whole space is very cozy, with large wood tables and benches. The staff is all very kind and the food is great; the wood oven pizzas and the desserts are outstanding! I personally suggest the Pepperoni one and the Tiramisu, although the crepes with chocolate and fruits are also a wise choice. Depending on the time of the year, booking a table may be a good idea (I always do it...). Enjoy!   When we were on our way to another restaurant we saw a huge line of people in front of this restaurant so we said we need to give it a try next night. And OMG, we have been to Italy and many Italian restaurants all over the Europe and we must admit that we didn't even eat this well in any other restaurant before. We had pizza, pasta with seafood and their signature pancakes and we took a bottle of Lambrusco to complete Italian dinner and we were both absolutely stunned by the quality of the food. Everything was really excellent. And I must admit one of the best service that we ever had on this planet. Absolutely must see and must try.   Worst ever. Been there for a late lunch. Garlic bread was good and pizza OK, but ordered carpaccio and it was the worst I have ever tasted. First, the meat was frozen. Not just cold, really really frozen. And the meat was not seasoned right. They use mustard as the only seasoning, instead of olive oil and balsamic vinegar, and it is really a bad bad choice for a carpaccio dish, tasted horribly. I tried to eat it nonetheless, as I am not prone to complaining, but couldn't. I asked for the waiter and told him the dish was not right but instead of offering replacement he took the dish to correct the meat temperature (?). A few minutes later he came back with the same content rearranged in a new plate. And the meat was still cold, unseasoned, except lots of mustard. I left the 2nd dish untouched, but they charged it nonetheless. And at the time of payment they sent another waiter, left yhe bill and did not even bother to come near to receive the payment or appologise. Deixei o segundo prato intacto, mas eles cobraram mesmo assim. E na hora do pagamento mandaram outro garçom, deixaram a conta e nem se preocuparam em se aproximar para receber o pagamento ou pedir desculpas. Eu me pergunto que tipo de chef e que tipo de proprietário se sentiria bem em servir um prato tão pouco profissional, eu não recomendo.

  We eat in here quite a lot when on holiday. It's a genuine Italian pizza restaurant. This stays open all year round unlike many other restaurants. Locals eat here. They also offer a delivery service. The staff are excellent. Very helpful and friendly even though this place gets very busy during the summer. I'm not a big fan of thin and crispy pizzas but these pizzas are to die for. Very reasonably priced too. They also have an ice-cream counter. Again the ice-cream is top notch stuff.   Worst Italian restaurant I have ever been to. Didn't even eat food took so long we left. Staff are very unprofessional owner thinks he's great but he does not understand anything of the restaurant business. Never will return.   This is not a regular pizzeria, it's way more than that. Food is just great, great taste and surprisingly well made. Staff is phenomenal and very very helpful. On the dessert side, there are plenty of options but this time we went for a real tasty and well-served ice cream also available if you're not in for lunch or dinner.   Hearty, tasty, Italian food! For the past few days we've been walking past this place and seeing a queue of people at the door; figured it must be good. We weren't wrong! While not a fancy restaurant (it is a tourist-y place after all), they have the usual Italian dishes that won't amaze you but will fill you up and leave you satisfied! We have tried Bolognese, pasta gratin, mixed salad, and two types of focaccia. If I can mention one negative, it is that their pizza dough (which I expect is the same they used for our focaccia) is quite flavourless and not something I would consider "to go back for". Luckily, they have 30 something flavours of Italian gelato; I tasted the Malaga, plain vanilla, and Snickers - it was one of the best ice-cream I've had in Portimão; you could say I finished my meal on a high note!   Unfortunately the food here looks better than it tastes. We ordered lasagne and penne Nordica. Dishes were really bland and dull. Pasta was overcooked and sauces had no seasoning at all. Bolognese in lasagne tasted like it was made from tomato soup from can. Staff seemed uninterested in customers although the restaurant was rather empty. We told them we will return coming Wednesday with our grandson right from Faro airport. we shared pictures and details and he said he can't wait.   Among all the other touristy restaurants in this area this might be one of the best. I liked the gelato more than the food. The lomon gelato as well as trimisu flavoured gelato were wonderful.   Very nice Pizzeria just opposite to our hotel. Pizza was good, the icecream is EXTRAORDINARY good.. Home made, creamy and very tastefull. Daily fresh. More than 30 flavors.   Great pizzas and the pastas also look great. The garlic bread is especially good. Also has homemade ice cream with lots of flavours although not particularly good in my opinion.
