  Alguns amigos me convidaram, a reserva foi feita uma hora antes e nos receberam muito calorosamente. O restaurante tem temática mexicana e a comida é original, muito deliciosa e o ambiente é excelente! Pedimos: ceviche tradicional, chiles recheados, enchiladas suíças, junto com as margaritas, o drink de maçã envenenada e minha Coca-Cola, foi tudo o que esperávamos. A sobremesa foi carlota, com cobertura de limão cítrico, deliciosa.   Descobri este restaurante por a acaso… fiquei curiosa, fiz uma reserva e não me arrependi. Amo a comida mexicana… O ambiente descontraído… e faz jus ao nome do restaurante … parece a sala de casa de Frida Calo … vários objetos e frases escritas até mesmo no teto trazem uma atmosfera curiosa e agradável . Julia really took the time to exlain everything to us and her attention to detail and helping us choose the right dishes was an absolute pleasure! I was unlucky with mine, as it was not as I had expected. The frozen margaritas were amazing. A lovely evening and definitely worth a visit.   Food that didn't cut the cost! Service was great. But the meals were less than average, with an average of €20 per meal the portions were closer to starters than mains. The duck was overcooked, the pastry stodgy. The ceviche was short on fish and more like a salsa. Tacos were oily. This could be acceptable but for the price, you would expect much , much more.   Foi a 4 vez que fui ao local. Como sempre este local traz boas recordações pelas experiências que lá passamos e pela comida. A minha companheira a muito que andava desejosa de comer uma ensalada de nopales, ela diz que é maravilhoso, mas infelizmente estava sem sabor :( A melhor parte da refeição foi sem dúvida Yuca frita. Gostamos também do trio de Chiles rellenos. Bonita apresentação dos pratos. De resto tudo teve ao nível que o restaurante nos habituou. PS: as mesas tem uma mesa de apoio que pode servir para pousar pratos em vez de se empurrar um prato com outro, só um reparo

  This place was a big treat. We are Americans from CA and when our friend who lives in Porto said we were going to get Mexican food, we were honestly not excited. It was done so well and the experience is not like what we have at home. Everything was delicious. It is elevated Mexican food. The atmosphere is very fun and cool. Service was great.   Amazing and authentic Mexican food. Upscale dishes with complex flavors (note, they have tacos but this is far from street food). Excellent selection of aged tequila and mescal. Cozy atmosphere. TIP: The menu can be a lot to take in when you sit down — but worth a through read to enhance your experience. I’d suggest reading the menu prior to arrival. Also, cactus dish, mole, and bone marrow were all amazing — we asked the waiter for suggestions and they led us to the perfect selections.   Went to Frida for the first time with a friend as we all miss Mexican food. I ordered the shrimp dish, Aguachile de Camarón, along with a fruit daiquiri (mango). The cocktail was a bit bland and the shrimp dish wasn’t flavorful either. While there were plenty of shrimps, they were small, and the flavors weren’t there. It’s almost like the flavors have been tamed for the local customers. Overall it is a great environment if you miss Mexican food, and it is one of a few that is in Porto.   In Porto for 2 days and found out my GF’s father never tried tacos before 😳. So got a bit nervous when selecting a spot for his first experience, but couldn’t be happier with Frida’s food and service! Tacos were proper with Pastor being the best IMO.   I HIGHLY DON’T RECOMMEND THIS PLACE The WORST customer service. We arrived at 7:30 and their answer was with out booking they don’t accept anyone else. ( completely understandable) we asked if we could wait and see if the next booking didn’t show up and we can take it, but they just rejected and said no stray away, (8:00pm was the next booking according with the waitress) the reason why we choose the place was for the reviews so, we insisted!! Again we asked the waitress; we are happy to wait for an hour but we just get the same answer IT IS NOT POSSIBLE. ( this is for real???? ) -We finally order take away they packed the ceviche with out any cutlery. -The margaritas with not alcohol basically lemonade with ice. -The food was not very good quality and was overpriced. THE BEST !!!! But after an hour and half we walked trough the restaurant and for our surprise the restaurant was empty ( I mean the 8:00 pm booking didn’t arrive and the time was 8:45 pm).   For vegetarians, if you’re going here for dinner , the portions are VERY small. The guacamole is meant for just one person. The quesadilla is literally a snack. It’s over priced for the portion you’re getting. There isn’t much variety for main entrees for vegetarians. We wanted to order the Tamales des Rajas con queso, but they didn’t have it.   Basically, a overrated place that I don’t recommend. I was looking forward to try this place after ordering twice their shrimp tacos and their ceviche since I was impressed with the flavour and quality. But this time I tried different dishes and I can say I was totally disappointed with the lack of quality and taste in general. The stuffed jalapeños with tuna paste was not impressive, the tuna steals the whole flavour and you can barely taste the jalapeños. The tacos were dry and blend. The shrimp ceviche tasted like shrimp in lemonade. The margueritas were not impressive as well, with a lot of ice and not so much flavour. They taste more like a smoothie than a marguerita.   A Mexican with a difference. Loved the jalapeños stuffed with tuna, ceviche was nice as were prawns. The cactus salad and minced meet stuffed peppers were interesting, but neither of us would order the stuffed peppers again. I have gluten sensitivity & they catered well for that - the gluten free corn desert was not what I expected, but I managed to eat most of it (lol). My husband loved the churros.   Beware of the menu at thus place. The amazingly 'colourful' descriptions succeed in making you want to try everything, and there are plenty of unique traditional (?) dishes that I had never seen elsewhere. But unfortunately the food did not really deliver on the extravagant promises that were made in the menu... The meat (both chicken and pork) that we had in our tacos was very dry, the mains were nothing special, and the desserts were just unpleasant. Avoid the chocolate and chilli margarita! Anyway at least the regular margaritas were delicious and not crazy expensive (6.5 EUR I think?), and the service was friendly. Overall - it's a cool novelty option but the quality doesn't justify the price. Also it's annoying that they charge you for the tortilla chips they give you on arrival without asking...   Disappointing. Staff were very nice but the food was very disappointing. Not as flavourful as I had expected. Wasn't even spicy. Chicken was full of fatty chewy bits. Stuffed chilli wasn't tasty. Corn tortillas that came with the mains were horrible. The flour ones were much better. I ordered cheese starter and it was a pot of tastless melted cheese with a couple of slices of mushroom in it. Very poor meal. We had a lot of great meals in Porto and this was the only bad one. Even the cocktails were poor. Choices are quite limited too. They gave us tortillas chips when we sat down, never asked if we wanted them. We assumed they were just a free snack while we waited for our drinks. And they charged us for them!!   Very welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable staff. You could feel their passion for Mexican cuisine. As for the food and drinks the margarita was near damn perfect, but the dishes left some to be desired in taste and while quirky is fun, our dishes bordered on strange. All in all a good experience, but left thinking it might have worked better as a mid-range concept instead of aiming for fine dining.   Great venue and nice staff, but every dish that we had as a group was overwhelmingly salty, dry and just not tasty. What you get is nothing like the description on the menu or that given by the waiter. Even the deserts, usually a saving grace, were poor - a slice of ordinary walnut cake, or cream brûlée on top of chocolate cake disc, served on a bit of slate to give it some pep. Food wise, very disappointing, and not one of our party of 5 had much positive to say, and it was our most expensive meal in Porto. Service 5 stars, venue 4 stars, food just 2...   Frida is a mixture of portuguese and mexican...the dish I got was deconstructed tacos and they were amazing and totally different. The inside of the restaurant is also super cute and has hints of the 3 owners dotted around it.   An excellent Mexican Food. Beware that can easily be 25-30€ per person. The ambiance is very nice and the people too (the male man can be a little off sometimes). The food is excellent and can bring the best of Mexico. Don't be shy, eat with your hands all the time. Is way better that way. Frida isn't a big restaurant (20 people max i think), so reservation may be very important! Don't forget to ask for a Margarita! They make them perfectly.   I'm from Australia, which isn't exactly known for its Mexican food, but damn everything I had here was delicious. The staff were incredibly friendly and fluent in Portuguese, Spanish, English and French. I came alone at 10pm on a Sunday - they were very busy, but I didn't have to wait long for a table (and they didn't banish me to a tiny corner table). I had the starter, tropical ceviche, fish cooked in banana leaf, corn tortillas, and a margarita. They were the best corn tortillas I've ever eaten - soft, tasty, and with structural integrity. I'm not a dessert person, so can't comment on that, but I had a great meal and definitely recommend eating here. Ps ignore other people's comments about "snobbish waiters" - I've been in Portugal for 3 months and this is by far the best/only good service I've had here it or in Spain. In regards to price, everything is expensive in Australia, so prices here seem absolutely fine to me. Em relação ao preço, tudo é caro na Austrália, então os preços aqui me parecem absolutamente bons.
