  I chose to try the salmon when I went to the restaurant with some friends, and it wasn't too bad. Although not as fresh, the salmon nevertheless had a good flavour. Not only is the ambiance beautiful, but the servers are hilarious. I would without a doubt advise returning. And he thought our fish was undercooked, so he made our cook finished well again. Also the food was all great! Duck rice ( gguack gguack sound was so cute) was so tasty, and grilled fish was so good. And eventually.. last wine service was soooooo sweet and made me so happy🥰 This restaurant is the best in my life!   Before biding this beautiful city goodbye , there was one last dish I wanted to try which was the fish. Boy oh boy we were not disappointed. Greeted by the friendliest faces we were sat down and explained the menu options in English which was a great help. In minutes time our drinks were with us and our starter the vegetable soup. For mains we opted for the dorado fish which was really fresh and tasty. Pity we did not have time for dessert as we needed to dash back to the airport. The owner was so friendly and warm.   Okay so hear me out. The food was decent, but had a ton of glaring issues - the fish was good and fresh, but the salt wasn’t spread out at all, the steak was tougher than rubber, the duck rice was too salty, and the salad was just vegetables with vinegar over it (I think?). On top of that, the service wasn’t great. There aren’t enough people working and the one lady who was attending to us was rushing by us constantly like she was playing some sort of cooking game. It just felt stressful to be there, but maybe I was just hangry 🤷 (Traduzido pelo Google) Ok, então me escute. The sea bass and sea bream were seasoned very well and very delicious. I would say the pork was done okay, though not in my highest recommendations, and also getting just a few slices.   Fresh fresh fresh seafood. We have had trouble finding fresh sardines in Porto, hard to imagine I know BUT today we get to this little gem of a restaurant just as they opened. The staff were delighted to seat us even though they were still in the process of opening up. As we settled in they placed “Reserved” on six tables, leaving only three or four open so thankfully we arrived early. Fish and service was amazing. Simple grilled fish with a little sea salt and fresh squeezed lemon. Nothing complicated just fresh fish as it should be! Ten minutes after opening the restaurant was full. Now that’s always a good sign. As we were leaving the gentleman, who was running around serving drinks, running food and bartending would not let us leave without a complimentary shot of White Port before leaving. Amazing what a good tip will do for your service! Two adults fed, Sardine Meal and Mixed Fish Meal (both with boiled potatoes) with side salad and a coke and a water and all for less then €25 🤯 A MUST try restaurant when in Porto 🇵🇹 (Traduzido pelo Google) Frutos do mar frescos e frescos. Tivemos dificuldade em encontrar sardinhas frescas no Porto, difícil de imaginar, eu sei, MAS hoje chegamos a esta pequena jóia de restaurante assim que abriu. Quando estávamos saindo do cavalheiro, que corria servindo bebidas, o serviço de comida e o bartender não nos deixavam sair sem uma dose gratuita de Porto Branco antes de sair. Incrível o que uma boa dica fará pelo seu serviço!   So, we entered the place cause it has a good menu with good and fair prices. But the service, blew us away. The owner was so funny and talked with us at the table.   What a find! We were just strolling by when we noticed this tiny restaurant and decided to give it a try. Turned out it only opened for dinner of Fridays! If you’re in Porto on a Friday evening you have to go! The croquetas were to die for and the arroz de pato also! The atmosphere is very homey and the staff is super fun and friendly.   Stumbled across this restaurant and popped in for lunch. Had soup, duck rice and pork in oven ... all were great. Added on a side salad and lovely fresh bread. We had some great green wine recommended by the waiter too (friendly staff!). Finished off with lemon cake, espresso and white port. Fantastic meal and even better VFM at less than €33 total.   Started with an ok wine. Had a fried chicken fillet with fries and rice. It had no flavour, just oil and salt. Needed something more, like a green garnish or gravy.   Absolutely 💯. This is a small family run place with limited seating so there can be waiting. But what is lacks for in decor and flair it makes up in service and food. The food is simple and delicious. They have a simple and short menu which means everything is fresh and homemade. Best is the duck rice. It is delicious and buttery. You can also go for the fish or octopus. Expect to wait a little at the table as there are only 4 people managing the whole thing but the wait is worth it.   Although I wanted to have a polvo dish, I chose here because of good reviews. And it reinforced me to trust about google review even more! Not only the food but also the service I got here was AMAZING.   This restaurant is amazing. Typically I don’t write reviews but I felt I got so much value for my money that I wanted to give back in a way that is hopefully more useful than a monetary tip. I had the grilled sardines, salad and red wine. I also heard really great things about their duck rice so I wanted to get that too however I knew I wouldn’t have enough stomach space for both. They don’t normally do take out but they found a plastic container for me so I could have it later (I unfortunately don’t have time to make the trip back otherwise I would have just done that). The fish was sooo soft and delicious. I did take a few spoonfuls of the duck rice and it was amazing as well. I tried putting some sardines on the bread and the owner came by and added olive oil to it and left me the bottle of oil and gave me more bread when I ran out. I didn’t get charged extra and .. it was so good with the additional olive oil :) There was also a nice complementary surprise shot of port wine at the end as a digestive! The place seems unpretentious and authentic. It’s already highly rated so certainly there were some tourists but there appeared to also be some locals.   Very very very good. This is authentic homemade and family run no doubts. We split a duck rice and a soup because we weren’t that hungry. It was so tasty. They had some really great bread they left at the table for us to which is rare in Portugal to see. They had given me a great white wine for lunch. I think the menu changes since it was handwritten but it seems their duck rice is a fan favorite and stays around. Line went out the door after 12, worth the wait.   I wish there are more star for someone like this outlet so we can give more star to them. Really hard to describe the experience here in words, for a true experience I recommend going and trying it. Food - this is something that you want to experience when you are there as a visitor. Simple and delicate to keep it pure. We had duck rice and sea bass which was truly appreciated. Very home-style cooking nothing fancy for Instagram but absolutely tasty :) 😄 Service - don't know the name of one of the staff but you will be able to find it easy who I'm talking about when you are there. We went there with high expectations and the service has been awful: no one welcomed us, we waited for 20 minutes without any questions or any explanation and we witnessed the most unorganised service ever.   Can't agree more with other visitors/reviewers here: this is a must visit if you are in search of traditional local food and authentic atmosphere. The restaurant is easy to miss as it is pretty inconspicuous from the outside, but full of locals on the inside. Regardless, the staff did their best to accommodate us and managed to squeeze us in. We had portuguese duck rice and beef steak, both very tasty and quite abundant. The service was also great, with very friendly and attentive staff who guided us through the menu. Overall, we really enjoyed eating here and we'll be definitely coming back.   Seriously, a must visit! What an amazing service, taste and atmosphere! I was here with my partner for lunch, we had some bread and butter as a starter, he had Chicken Schnitzel with rice and fries, I had the Duck Rice, all yummy (except for the cheese on top of the rice, not really a melted cheese fan). My partner had a glass of white wine, and the waiter gave him the rest of the bottle on the house! I had a Coke (boring I know). Once done, we went to pay and for our surprise they offered us Port Wine shots on the house too!!! And kept asking if we wanted more!!!   Only open on a Friday night for dinner. It is open for lunch on other days but make sure to look it up if you are going to make a special trip. Always best to book but you can wait for a table. We turned up on spec and waited over 20 minutes to get a table and the queue behind us went out the door! Good, typical Portuguese food. We had the "fresh" sardines - seemed a bit soft for freshly caught but they were very tasty and the signature dish of duck pieces in rice with a side salad between us (€1). With a bottle of house wine and a traditional pudding the whole meal cost about €35. Great, bustling atmosphere and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Perhaps not the best place for a romantic meal for two but good fun if you like your restaurants loud and full of energy. Recommended but best to book in advance.   This is one of our favourite restaurants for a casual lunch. The food is Portuguese and in this quaint restaurant it feels like home cooking with love. They have a short menu only in Portuguese but the server will explain the specials in English or other languages if needed. We love the Arroz do Pato or duck rice, baked in the oven. The daily soup is usually tasty, and the meals come usually a tomato, carrot and lettuce salad and french fries. A cold beer is good with this food (um fino) and the wine is very reasonable. We are regulars here. The cost is usually €10-€12 per person for soup, the main, bread and a drink. Note this place is cash only.   Very friendly staff, it is the first time I went to a restaurant and felt like the staff actually cared for my comfort without just being after extra cash. The food was quite good and not expensive. They come by and ask if you want more rice or fries if they see you're running low. They allow you to try all the deserts if you want to at the cost of reduced piece sizes.   The best place we have been to Oporto. If you are searching for lunch, dont look for more. Great quality for very good prices. Waiters are super nice, helpful and funny.   As you well know, I'm very strict with food reviews. This one, happened to be SUPER good, I had to give it a 5 stars. Well, this food deserves it. The customer service was beyond good, by Luigi and his helper "Patricia". The food, OMG... my wife had the Duck rise, I had the veil with potatoes, my wife's uncle, who was a chef in NY, had COD fish and his wife had the fried Rovalo fish. We were expecting a decent meal, but for our surprise, it was more than good. I will recommend it to USA people and Latin American people, who can identify good seasoning and great food testing and excellent service. The calamari were SO SO GOOD.   Staff are friendly regardless they were very busy. Even there were only two of them serving all the guest, they never forget about the smile! Tried the spinach soup, the house special veal croquettes with rice, fries and a generous portion of salad. Deserts look delicious but may run out fast (but you can ask to reserve hehe).   Super amazing restaurant! Small and very homely. The host is very welcoming and laughs all evening.i would definitely recommend this as a must visit if you're ever in porto. The food to price ratio is the best and its a very traditional restaurant. We had to wait a while to get a table that sat 4 people, and they gave us free wine tastings while we waited.   At lunch time, this restaurant is filled with Portuguese businessmen and tourists in a 2/3 to 1/3 proportion, always a good sign. The lunch menu of soup and a dish (meat or fish) is incredibly delicious for the price (€8 when we were there), and the whole atmosphere has a hurried but friendly feel. Simple and delicious home cooking. Do as the Portuguese and have a half bottle of wine with your lunch! A real treat.   The place looks cool with cheap prices but the food and service where the worst. We ordered see bass fish and it was undercooked and bloody. And although we told the waiter about it, he just took it to cook it more and return it to us.. but it was still bloody again (please see the picture I posted). The service was very rushed and the waiter was insisting to choose the wine from the house although we wanted to try something else. Most of the wine menu was not available although we asked for 4 different kinds that where not there. I would never eat there again!   Great local joint with homemade food and good service. They have lunch for 8 euro soup, bread and coffee included. The owner, Luigi is a real fun guy, he won’t let you leave without a shot of Porto on the house ! I highly recommend the sardines.   Stumbled upon this amazing place after finding all restaurants closed after 2:00 pm. I don't know if it was the hunger, but the food was spectacular. I had the grilled fish and my wife the pork, both were simple and flavorful, I guess it's about the quality of the food. I highly recommend Cana Vede, the staff will make you fill like you are having lunch at home, enjoying grandma's special recipes. You may have to wait a little bit, but it's worth it.   This place is priceless ! . Be aware it is cash only but ATM is not far away . Speedy service , simple menu well explained by greeting waiter. I liked the dessert enthusiasm too. Waiter or should I say waiters gave us one free drink each(digestive port 1 white and 1 tawny) so I am now drunk but fit after running to the cash machine . Oops no cash.   Chose this place based on both Google and Trip Advisor reviews and they were spot on. Nothing fancy here but what you get is a well cooked Portuguese meal. At 7 € you are supposed to get bread, soup, main, and coffee. We arrived just before closing and didn't get our soup. Perhaps they ran out. I wanted to deduct a star for that but our friendly waiter offset that with a free bottled water, fries, and a top up of our wine. My wife a had a very moist fried fish and I had tasty grilled mackerel and sardines (2). Half bottle of wine with lunch set us back an extra 3€.
