  Nice atmosphere. Not very welcoming. Had a family of 8 and 2 of the dishes were still raw. Make sure to check your chicken and pork. Both were still pink and raw inside. The waiter did feel bad but it was not his fault the chef was not good if the food comes out raw. The appetizer (fried cod) tasted like it was frozen and heated in the microwave. It did not taste fresh. The waiter did offer to give us a free bottle of port wine but we declined and they took the 2 dishes off of our bill. Just check before eating.   Not a great meal. Took ages for starters to come out. This was quickly followed by a tasteless main course. COD which mainly tasted of oil. The service staff worked very hard as they “silver serve” each dish at the table. If they modernised the food and service style like they have the toilets it could be a much better experience.   Worst restaurant I’ve had in Porto. The seafood rice with lobster was completely not worth value. It costed 99 euros, but the seafood was not clean properly. There was sand not only in the shell of the clams and mussels, the sand was even in the rice that I could hear the sand in my mouth as I was chewing my food. The lobsters and shrimps were cook poorly, they were so rough and had no taste. Bad service, the waiters were giving us attitude after we rejected a refill of the seafood rice.   If you want to step back in time to an old school dining experience of top quality - this is your place. The waiters are well trained (even held the door for me to exit), the restaurant is like a museum in its decor, it’s spotless in its cleanliness, but none of that matters if the food sucks.   This place was so good! We made a reservation online to celebrate my friend’s birthday, and they made it really special.   Grilled sea bass is good but not very impressive regarding their price is pretty high . One of the staff kept rushing us when we were looking at the menu.   I've been highly disappointed by my experience. Initially the setup and the welcome was very good but sadly it went south. On the bright side, we enjoyed the scenery, the cabrito was good, and for a fraction of the price it could have been an ok moment (after a handful of great (better) meals in Porto for 30% less). Issues here were (in ascending order): Despite a great smile we were quickly forgotten on finding us a table (despite having a reservation, we were put on hold and then forgotten despite tables being free). The price was arguably too high for the quality of food and service (comments ranged from too salty to unpalatable with overcooked meat as a silver lining) The cherry on the cake was being pushed from starters to main by serving the latter while we were still eating, and trying to avoid our discomptent by sending someone we hadn't seen to bill us (of course we would not have laid it on them and no-one should, please stay cordial in your feedbacks everyone). Os problemas aqui foram (em ordem crescente): Apesar de um grande sorriso, fomos rapidamente esquecidos ao encontrar uma mesa (apesar de termos uma reserva, fomos colocados em espera e depois esquecidos, apesar das mesas estarem livres). O preço era provavelmente muito alto para a qualidade da comida e do serviço (os comentários variavam de muito salgados a intragáveis, com carne cozida demais como uma fresta de esperança) A cereja do bolo estava sendo empurrada da entrada para o prato principal, servindo o último enquanto ainda estávamos comendo, e tentando evitar nosso descontentamento, enviando alguém que não tínhamos visto para nos cobrar (é claro que não teríamos cobrado isso deles). e ninguém deveria, por favor, sejam cordiais em seus feedbacks a todos).

  Probably the most expensive and the worst table of Porto. Food was dry, salty and the wine was way too expensive for the quality obtained. The service was also terrible, they literally put our main course on top of our unfinished and ridiculously expensive appetizer to rush us out.   Evening started with a long hair on the napkin. Bread, olives and butter were served. Butter was quite hard and therefore hard to use. Quality and structure of the bread was good, but as a meal it was boring and underwhelming. Could become better with serving salted butter. Main course was also a bit underwhelming, although not sure whether that's because Portugese food in general can be experienced as underwhelming. Prices were certainly on the high side for quality offered, but the food was OK. Service was nice, attentive, and I did see they put in effort into customers. I felt discriminated when the staff asked me to repeat a simple word in English when I was ordering my drink. “What language do you speak?” was the response I got instead of “sorry” or “pardon”. It is my first time visiting Porto, and I found most people here being very friendly towards a foreign face.   We ordered cod and octopus and wished that I read the reviews first regarding these two items. The octopus was bland and the cod was inedible because it was over salted. My wife and I returned the cod and asked the server to taste it for us just to ensure that our taste buds weren’t awry. She said cod is supposed to be a little salty. After a couple of minutes, she came back and we asked her if she tasted it. She said that it was salty. We also tried the shrimp cocktail and the dip tasted like 1,000 island. How did we end up in this place? My hotel host referred me to this place, which is a humongous mistake. I noticed that the slew of their customers are from hotel referrals because I recognized a bunch of them from my hotel. I wish that I can say that it was a cheap lesson to learn not to listen to a hotel host for restaurant recommendations but my lesson cost me $118. Lastly, I ordered one dessert and they gave me two to make up for the cod fiasco. We also took a bite and it was one bite too much. When I looked at the bill: I was charged for two desserts. Porto has too many great restaurants to choose from—avoid this place. And no, I’m not trying to be like their cod and being extra salty, just serving a warning like the other reviewers, which I should’ve heeded.   Sadly disappointed…. Despite been recommended by some people I regret to say the food (the cod snd the octopus) was overcooked and so salty that made it impossible to eat. The chicken salad was a dimple Cesar Salad with no challenge and the “Camarones” omelette was made of prawn instead “actual camarones”. Extensive and food did worth what we paid for it.   We went on recommendation from our accommodation host; we were told it’d be nice traditional Portuguese food with Michelin recognition. The interior of the restaurant felt very traditional. The menu choice was hard to understand but we went for the restaurant’s special menu. The quality of the food was not great, neither of us finished any of the courses. It was expensive and definitely not worth the price. We both had stomach problems the following day. We tasted octopus salad (really good and plenty of the expensive ingredient: octopus), 3 different cod fish plates (best one escondidinho recipee, the other 2 were so so), and beef steak. They shouldn't promote and market they achieved a Michelin star, since you will expect much more because of that. Anyhow interesting to visit and taste their food.   The restaurant is beautiful and has a great ambience. The waiting staff was very professional. Unfortunately the food didn't meet the same standard (for example, our steaks were served cold inside at first, it did get fixed when asked) and it was quite expensive.   Looks old but clean inside, very overrated and very expensive for the type of cuisine they serve here, its very traditional and yet so far from the actual tradition, only a tourist could really go there and eat and not complain. Portions are slighty in the oversize side and there are some good stuff in there but you really need to know what you ordering. One thing I actually hated was the bottle of water, it wasn't sealed when it arrived to the table, seemed one of those refilled bottles from these machines, please avoid asking for water that hasn't a brand or isnt sealed on it since they charge you quite well for 2 cents of water... very unhygienic. First and last time there. Edit: I can assure anyone that said sealed bottle who the owner claimed to be in every bottle wasnt in ours I actually noticed and didnt even drank from it even tho i paid it, it isnt my first time I notice restaurants pushing every bound to make profits out of anything they can and trick people like that its actual robbery in play sight, and dont bring me tradition and generations nonsense on me because no portuguese person with self respect with their culture and tradiction in his right mind would eat here twice, most reviews are made up by tourists who understands close to nothing of our culture and gastronomy and will give compliments out of anything. Eu realmente notei e nem bebi dela, mesmo tendo pago, não é a primeira vez que noto restaurantes empurrando todos os limites para fazer lucram com tudo o que podem e enganam pessoas assim, é um verdadeiro roubo à vista, e não me tragam tradição e disparates de gerações porque nenhum português com respeito próprio, com a sua cultura e tradição em sã consciência, comeria aqui duas vezes, a maioria as avaliações são feitas por turistas que não entendem quase nada da nossa cultura e gastronomia e elogiam qualquer coisa.

  Good service, better than the most restaurants. Ordered only seafood rice pot, €54 for two. It’s large portion,delicious, lots of seafood. Overall worthwhile a try. Would recommend to travelers who want to experience Portugal cuisine. We came in for lunch and made a reservation ahead of time. Upon arrival, we are greeted to the seat.   The last review I read was not justified. Satisfactory but not exciting; too long a menu to appeal to a gourmet. Pleasant ambience with Portuguese tiles and an imaginative panoramic window. Very attractive China. I found the price quite reasonable at €63 for two having two courses and a glass of house wine each. The service was good and the owner/maitre d attentive.   The food was good and made with quality ingredients, but it was missing something: it didn't have anything special, it was too basic and a little old school, which is not necessarily a bad thing but for the price I was hoping for something that would blow my mind and got dishes that I could have made at home. Overall the experience was good but the atmosphere is a bit too serious rather than elegant.   One of the worse places I have been too. Bed service, over priced for simple food. The hotel recommended this restaurant and it was a very big let down. They even have us a card so we could give them rating of good and service and they have already marked themselves as excellent which was a joke.. how desperate and bad do you have to be to do such a cheap trick like that.   My husband and I had very good dining experience here. The restaurant decor looks very traditional but very well maintained. The service were good and the food was superb. The provide many options of dish from seafood to meat. We order two different soups, one roasted goat and one cod fish. All were cooked and seasoned just right. But be reminded that seems it doesn’t work to book a table via theFork. After I booked it I got email saying the booking is not yet confirmed, and I haven’t received any further feedback from the restaurant, even I tried email directly to them.   Great traditional restaurant in the heart of Porto. Staff is friendly and the service was fine. We did pay more then expected, like a caraf water is put on the table while we didnt order it but it was billed. I ordered a glass of white wine, they bring a small caraf and tben charge me for a caraf instead of a glass.   The Portuguese really know a thing or two abt fish. I had a most enjoyable baked sea bass meal at this really old school restaurant where it seems many traditions still prevail. From the interior deco to the cooking style and the gentle demeanour of the waiters in their formal bow tie and vest to the dessert trolley, literally everything shouts of oldies but goodies🙇 Back to the important stuff at hand: food quality is absolutely yummilicious. The restaurant itself serves Italian Portuguese food with the intention of attracting a more upmarket, foreign clientele. The reviewer ordered cod which although tender was rather too oily, to the overall detriment of the meal. Boiled potatoes would also have been more appropriate as a side dish.
