  Amazing experience. Food is some of the best I've Mexican food I've had outside of Mexico and the ceviche is out of this world.   The place looks great! Very nice ambiance and the employees are very nice. The cocktails looked good and there are a lot of options on the menu. The food is expensive for what you get. The burritos are good but tiny. It is a good portion for an average woman I think (I was full after eating it). An average men will still be hungry and €12-€16 for a burrito is a lot. The drinks were expensive as well, especially compared to other places in Porto. In other places (in Spain, Portugal and even in north European countries) you can get a burrito twice the size, same quality for €10. The salsa dips with the nacho were very watery (see photo). The sopa de azteca does not look like the real Mexican deal and I was visiting with a friend from Mexico City. Compared to other places in Porto, the price just doesn’t match up with the quality. I wouldn’t come back or recommend unless you don’t mind the price and really like burritos and tacos (don’t know what the tacos taste like here though) (Traduzido pelo Google) O lugar parece ótimo! Acho que é uma boa porção para uma mulher comum (fiquei satisfeito depois de comê-lo). Um homem médio ainda terá fome e 12 a 16 euros por um burrito é muito. As bebidas também eram caras, especialmente em comparação com outros locais do Porto. Noutros locais (em Espanha, Portugal e até em países do norte da Europa) pode conseguir um burrito com o dobro do tamanho, da mesma qualidade, por 10€. Os molhos de salsa com o nacho estavam muito aguados (ver foto). A sopa de azteca não parece o verdadeiro negócio mexicano e eu estava visitando um amigo da Cidade do México. Comparado com outros locais no Porto, o preço simplesmente não corresponde à qualidade. Eu não voltaria ou recomendaria, a menos que você não se importe com o preço e realmente goste de burritos e tacos (embora não saiba qual é o gosto dos tacos aqui)

  The hubs and I have walked by this place many times, but never went in to eat. When I saw the owner mixing up guacamole at his food cart at a beer fest, I thought it looked so delicious that we went the next day to his restaurant for lunch. It did not disappoint! We had the totopos & homemade salsas, Chila Killerz (from the brunch menu), and the Adobada tacos. Everything was absolutely delicious! Many of the items on the menu are vegan. I loved how everything wasn’t smothered in cheese and the flavor of the meat and beans really shone through. The roasted tomato salsa was pretty spicy (❤️) and very tasty!! The pico de gallo was super fresh. We will definitely return, and I already know I’m going to try the legit guacamole and a burrito. Maybe we’ll go tomorrow! Yum!   charming place with clearly marked vegan options and accommodations available! i ate the nopalitos burrito, but wanted the tacos (which they were out of two days in a row). the burrito was so good i came back the next day for the same thing! the cactus has the texture of a soft canned green bean and tastes slightly pickled - works great in a burrito, and it’s not something you get to eat every day! they give you a tiny handful of chips with the burrito, alone with red and tomatillo salsas which are delicious. our waitress was super funny and sweet, and all the staff seem great! highly recommend. get there early on weekends, there were people waiting outside for 30 minutes!   Tonight was an excellent Mexican restaurant find in Centro Porto called Callejero. A husband and wife own it; she's from Spain, and he's from Guadalajara, Mexico. The small restaurant was full, so we sat at the sidewalk tables outside. A little on-and-off drizzle made for a memorable night leaning into the wall so we could be protected by the overhang above. The Guacamole was fresh and well prepared. I had the Birria tacos with consume and they were fantastic and authentic. The Cocktails are fantastic and creative too...   Went here for dinner & drinks with two friends. The place has such a nice vibe, with great music (loud, but loved the playlist). Spicy margaritas were fab, and I had an unreal michelada. We got chips and guac to share, and ordered the mushroom tacos. Our server misheard and brought us the shrimp tacos, but they were quickly replaced (however the shrimp ones looked so good I wanted to keep them!)   I highly recommend this restaurant. When we walked in, we were greeted in a very friendly manner and provided with English menus without even asking. Although it was the dinner hour, we weren't super hungry and didn't order much, but the staff gave us no attitude. And all the food was delicious! Definitely going back.   Callejero is an amazing Mexican restaurant. I'm from Mexico and in Callejero I feel like eating tacos in the street in Mexico city.   ALE MADE OUR WHOLE EXPERIENCE!!! We are from Canada, here in Portugal for a techno event and we were craving some good authentic mexican food after the sunset. We picked Callejero because it was a few minutes away and had good reviews, and boy this place did not miss! Ale greeted us as the door and took a minute to tell us it would be anywhere from 10-15 minutes for a table. The place was rammed! Not a problem, it was great she even acknowledged us (most places here didn't even say hi to us at the door). We were grateful and took a look at the menu while we waited for our table, Ale offered for us to have a round of drinks while waiting in line, an absolute gem she is!!! The margarita's did NOT disappoint. The best I've had here so far. We had the Shark Tacos, Pork Belly Tacos and Cactus Tacos. Everything was on point. Hot sauces had a variety of mild to extra hot heat... and 2 Euro tequila shots. No brainer right? One look at the bartender and he would come over with the bottle of tequila to pour us shots. 10/10 experience, 10/10 service. Atmosphere was excellent, bathrooms were clean.   Could not recommend this place more. In the space of my four day trip I came here twice! My first trip I was travelling solo. The staff made me feel so safe. They made sure I was okay and safe and not that I was unsafe but I very much felt that the team knew I was travelling on my own and they had their eye on me. I had dietary requirements and they made sure all my drinks were made without sugar. The staff were fun, kind, knowledgeable and overall kind people. The second time I went it was with a group of 8. They were busy but made sure to get a table for us after a less than 10 min wait. They gave us the best recommendations to share starters, main recommendations, nothing was an issue which is saying something especially as a group of 8! The team are so friendly, good fun and so kind and considerate. I’m already dying to go back!   Be sure to request the extra hot.sauce (it's mild but hotter than most things in Portugal) burritos were great. Go for the guac over the salsa starter, the guac was a bit warm but still nice and the burritos were spot on. Service was average but not bad.   I won't be too mean but the food was good but time from ordering drinks and food were not great. We ordered two cocktails and we had finished them before the food had arrived, now we only ordered 3 of the same tacos and one chicken burrito, but this took over 15min, the place wasn't even that busy, however once we had a recieved our food we needed another drink, this then didn't arrive until we had finished our food. You see where I'm going with this.. the only thing that they need to do is sort out is the timing.   So very disappointed…the most underwhelming experience costing over €50 for two! Food is so very bland/severely lacking in flavour and weirdly the Quesadilla chicken Tinga starter tasted exactly how musty old laundry, smells. Other than being utterly tasteless, the over-stated constant is tortilla chips served with everything. Brought us finger food in the form of salsa & x2 dips on a plate of tortillas shortly after we’d settled into our seats. Great! Thanks for the complimentary welcome! Turns out it went on the bill at the end….VERY CHEEKY! Don’t get how the rating is so high other than reviews are obviously not verified and it’s impossible to imagine they could possibly rely on repeat business as only eager tourists are sufficiently in the dark regarding the lack-lustre fayre they’re about to experience. They got the last laugh though as we paid up (less the un-complimentary salsa etc).   I wouldn't recommend going here if you take mexican food seriously. It's not good even for european standards. People rating this 5 stars have no idea what they are talking about and clearly have never seen guacamole before in their lives. Nachos are cheap, guac soggy and watery, margerita unbalanced.... and then come the tacos. The tacos weren't horrible, I've had worse, but it's just pretty bland. 2 stars because at least it wasn't dry.   So for all of you wanting a more Tex Mex vibe this is it, all their sauces are super flavorful and made in house and actually are spicy, (hard to find in porto right?) their guacamole also great and decent portion size , sadly the chips were store bought though and not in the same league of their sauces.   As a born and raised Mexican, it is hard to find great Mexican food anywhere other than Mexico and some parts of the USA. But in this case it was just that! We asked for a little too much, but we were happy to take some of it back home with us. The only thing I would say is to either use bigger tortillas, or put less stuff into the tacos as the tacos got too saturated and kept breaking. But it was a pleasure to delight in some authentic Mexican food!!!   Didn’t feel like going out tonight so we stopped at this little Mexican restaurant right by our apartment. I was able to get a seat before 7 o’clock sat right down and they took a drink order. The place has a very cool vibe, there’s sitting indoors and outdoors if you want to enjoy sunny days. We got the guacamole, nice and creamy avocados. And for main we had a mix of tacos. You can order them by 3 all of one type or you can mix (what we did) we took shrimp, veggies, tingas and adobadas which is like pastor marinated beef. I also took an Ay Jesus! Margarita, with additional Orange juice and Tajin salt, it was delicious. Paid 40€ for this. The owners are super nice people, we had a lovely conversation! The biggest issue was the meat, it didn’t have any seasoning and was rubber like, the tortilla was soggy, the sauce(salsa N green salsa) was tasteless, even with all of these ingredients you still failed to deliver hardcore. 2. The quesadillas was overcooked no balance between the cheese and chicken, we ended up having gastric reflux for a whole day. Thank you! 3. The lemonade tasted like sugar water, the waiter did not give us any option of having it without sugar, instead he puts the blame on the costumer, amateur! Ps: By stating these points gives to show how unqualified the staff is. You should go back to the drawing boards.   We called for a reservation and since it was a Friday evening, it was very busy. They did their best to arrange the table so that we had a table. The nacho's with homemade salsa were something we never tasted before. It is not your typical nacho dipping. Nonetheless it is very good! The taco's and burrito were very special. Instead of working with all kind of sauces, the taste is inside the meat. Also the waiters speak very good English which is always a plus if you are a tourist in Porto!   We never thought one of our food highlights in Porto would be a Mexican restaurant, but wowwwww this place was amazing. We ordered the birria quesadilla, sopa azteca and shrimp tacos and every dish was so tasty. It was the perfect amount of food for 2 people to share. The dishes were seasoned to perfection and the homemade sauces complemented the flavors very well. The staff was very friendly and the vibe inside was awesome. Highly recommend!   This place is very quickly turning into my favourite Mexican place in Porto, not only when you dine in but also when you order delivery. The creativity they have with their burritos and quesadillas is unrivalled and well, they just blew me away with their halloween box art. I wish them the greatest success. Best guacamole in town.
