My husband and I chose Tascö for our 1st anniversary dinner and couldn’t have been happier with the experience. My other half mentioned in the booking that it was a special occasion for us. On the day of our booking, they rang to check in and assure us they would make us feel special. They weren’t lying! From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel so special. Very good restaurant! My partner and I were on holiday in Porto for the first time and our hotel recommended this restaurant and they did not disappoint. The service was wonderful and all the waiters were very funny and attentive. We had to start the mushroom dish which was I think one of the best things I’ve ever tasted! Was absolutely delicious! We then had steak to share for mains which was cooked to perfection! I was very impressed! And the wine was very yummy. I did find it was quite expensive but was very very yummy! The owner is so attentive, my cocktail was late so he gave us two on the house after our meal with a little story on coffee beans. It was a last minute decision to go here. We arrived just before 19:30 on Sunday without reservation. We were lucky as the place quickly filled up. We had two starters; sashimi and tartare. Both were amazing. The tuna sashimi was delicately flavoured. The tartare was served in taco shell. The steak had a great texture and nice heat. For the main we shared octopus. The octopus was cooked to perfection and very tender. Our meal was accompanied by 3 cocktails and 1 very generous glass of whiskey! The staff were attentive and very knowledgeable about their menu. The library aesthetic was also nice. As seems to be standard in a lot of places now the menu was available on QR code. Personally this is a trend I don't like but not something I would complain about. They did also offer a physical version which was helpful. We were greeted quickly and in a friendly manner. The food was absolutely delicious, complex yes enjoyable flavours. We walked in with no reservations, waited in the nice bar lounge for about 15 minutes, and were seated as our drinks arrived. If I could give more than five stars to tascö I really would. From the second we arrived the staff were fantastic, they really seem to love their job and know how to make you feel welcome. Where we had an allergy in the group, they ensured they put anything with pepper on the side or in seperate pots. Drinks were all fantastic from the beer to the cocktails- it was a really special meal, certainly in the top 10 in my life. When the bill came, I honestly thought there was a mistake- it was well over £100 less than I thought it would be! In terms of dishes, my favourites were the octopus and the prawns. We were lucky to get a table at 21:30 without reservation nonetheless, there is a lounge at the back for a drink as you wait. The staff is absolutely amazing. Make a reservation via the website because there will be a line by the time they open. The friendly staff helped us order. We picked items that fit what they told us plus what sounded good and it worked out perfectly. I believe each dish (we opted to follow the servers suggestion of 4 dishes to share with 3 people) was supposed to come on its own, but ours got a bit backed up in the kitchen so we had a long wait after our first dish. Most notably, the staff were so warm and welcoming and paid attention to every little detail. We visited Tasco a few days ago and are still amazed. It's not just fantastic food but also a great experience. The service is absolutely outstanding, very kind, more than solid in English, and they have a great sense of humor. :) The food itself is something new in terms of taste. The recommendations from the waiter for the food and pairing wine were really good. If you're there and like Cocktails, choose the "slot machine". The barkeeper will surprise you with a Cocktail you probably never had before, something quite rare or unique in terms of taste and style, based on some questions he'll ask you. We loved this place! Pretty much everything was perfect. The service was friendly and always there at the right time. The cocktails are amazing. My boyfriend ordered a heavy, spicy one but the bartender came to advise him to take it after dinner, which we appreciated and was indeed a better decision. Instead he made one kind of custome to his flavors which he loved. Every meal was interesting and delicious. Not a bad thing about it. Definitely would come back again and recommend anyone. Outstanding meal! One of the best meals we had during our entire 10-day stay in Portugal. The service was excellent, the wine selection good and the food options were delicious. I had their vegan special and it was one of the better vegan dishes I have ever had. My husband said it was his favourite meal the entire trip. Tasco is a gem. Myself and my partner visited Tasco on our second night in Porto and we were absolutely amazed by not only the quality of food but the service that came with it. We ordered the Tataki Atum which featured (Braised tuna tataki, teriyaki sauce, ginger, chimichurri, crispy rice leaf, sesame powder and coriander sprouts). It was absolutely delicious and I would highly recommend it, we also got the ingredients to the sauce which was amazing. We then ordered the Beef Tartare which was (Beef loin, capers, shallot, horseradish, parmesan, cheese, mustard and egg yolk). This was also delicious although my partner liked it much more than me, it certainly requires an experienced meat lover and good food pallet to properly enjoy. Our next dish was of course the Octopus, we weren’t sure if we could eat a full octopus but were asked by our waiter if we wanted half of one for half the price. We agreed and loved every bit of it. We also got cocktails, wine, dessert and some port wine near the end of our meal. The experience was amazing and I can safely say that Tasco is one of if not the best restaurant I have ever had the opportunity of going to. (Traduzido pelo Google) Tasco é uma jóia. This is so far the most delicious restaurant in Porto! The service was perfect ; each of the waiters were attentive without being intrusive, really friendly without being annoying and meticulous without being too much. We ordered the pork ribs, soft shell crabs with prawns and vegetarian dish. The pork ribs were really tender and even come easily off the bones. The honey sauce that came with was tasty, sweet and enough for the meal. The vegetables with the ribs were sort of marinated in vinegar and made them easy to eat. The soft shell crab and prawns were served with tomato tartar and avocado paste ; there were some lemon juice tasted to it which made the sea food fresher. Finally, the vegetarian dish was composed of truffe, mushrooms, smashed potatoes and beetroot which result in a excellent mix of flavors. What an awesome restaurant. The staff is really friendly and helpful and really think along for your meal choice. They are also super attentive. The food was also really good, I personally enjoyed the slow cooked pork ribs. After traveling for about 2 weeks in Portugal, we can say that our evening at Tascö was by far the best! The food is unbelievably good, the service sensational; extremely friendly and good-humored. Even the Atmosphere and the interior was beautiful. We had Softshell crab as starter. It was very tasty. After that we had the best octopus we have ever eaten. Cooked to the point, tender, crispy and perfectly flavored! As 2nd main course we tried the giant prawns, wich was also sensational. As dessert we had date cake with whiskey foam and it was an absolute dream. Warm, soft and simply delicious. The cocktails were also world class. We still talk about how good the food and cocktails where at Tascö! Thank you Tascö for this wonderful evening. We will definitely come back to Porto only to eat in Tascö again. This place was so good we came here twice in our week long stay! The charcuterie board was gorgeous and had some of the best smoked meat I've ever tasted. The red beans & rice is an excellent side, but don't miss the alheira! Staff is extremely friendly and attentive, reserving a table is highly recommended. We were walking by and luckily discovered this restaurant. It was lunchtime and we didn’t have a reservation. They were able to seat us right away. This restaurant is a gem. The staff is friendly and accommodating. The food was delicious. We got the cod, octopus, tomato rice and sautéed cabbage with red beans and bits of ham. Home style Portuguese favorites. What a great find in Porto. This restaurant had been in operation over five years and we've been to Porto every year for the last three years and we probably walked by it dozens of time and just noticed it today. I think the train is lack of eye level signage. Anyway, the food is great the atmosphere is lovely and the service is efficient, friendly and professional. They server explained that the size of their dishes are Spanish tapas style but larger. I have to say they are much larger than average tapas size. We ordered two steak with peppercorn sauce and a side dish of roasted potatoes in garlic and olive oil, those plus bread and butter was sufficient for the two of us. Many of the dishes are fried. My table ordered “Octopus traditional wonder”, red beans and rice, and Alheria with greens and onions. Everything was tasty and well cooked. A previous reviewer mentioned the beans and rice is very good, and I second that review! The dish is stewed with some form of cured meat—maybe bacon or lardons—so it’s very flavourful and filling. The cost was reasonable, especially considering that this place is right in the city centre. A pitcher of sangria, three (shared) plates, and two glasses of port came to slightly less than €40. Really nice vibes. We had no reservation and the guy who received us was really honest. We decided to wait for 45 mins drinking a couple of beers. Update 8/22/2022: After more than 2 years we didn't visit the restaurant, now the restaurant rebranded their ideas of the menu and refurbished the whole space. I love their new dishes and new designed of the space. The service is warmly and helpful as always. The special cocktail "Cold Contagious" I ordered was wonderful. It was really easy to drink and didn't have strong taste of alcohol, the sour taste was really refreshing. The meat dish be called "Costelinhas" was so delicious with their homemade BBQ sauce. Their price is much higher than before, but it is really worth to try their new dishes and new cocktails. Before it is more like traditional small bar food, now it is a Portuguese fusion style dishes. ---------------------------------------- Cheap and nice food, you can spend little money but eat really good amount. Um dos restaurantes que vou sempre quando visito o Porto. Já estive neste restaurante seis vezes, sempre me trazem boas experiências, os funcionários são muito prestativos e gentis. Normalmente por cada pessoa pagará cerca de 12~20 euros. Vou recomendar que se você pensa em visitar este restaurante, é melhor fazer uma reserva há alguns dias, mesmo há um dia você pode tentar fazer reservas antes de ir. Você deveria experimentar estes pratos: arroz de polvo, carne fatiada e bolo de chocolate.....

Good value but the service was extremely slow. This may be because they were quite busy but I was very disappointed. They only had 1 of the specials in stock and the food tasted very salty. We went for the grilled meat plater, breaded squid, chicken rice and crisps. Would recommend booking as they did turn people away. The food is great as the surrounding environment to. It's a little dark inside but once you're there you get used to it . The food portions look small but it's enough. Took a little time to get he order but it was very crowded . Reservations are mandatory. The staff is very good and it has a very familiar environment. Situated down a quiet street and easy to miss - this was a great restaurant to find in Porto. It was busy and we had not made a booking, but they found us a table after a couple of minutes. The food was delicious and the staff were really friendly and helpful with the choice of dishes. The tapas style meal was excellent and the wine choices were just right. Delicious food, staff were incredibly helpful and chatty, very quick service and I really advocate their meat stew, that uses all parts of the pig that people don't normally eat. Absolutely amazing and of course, I tried to leave a mark on their chalkboard to show that I was there! Truly is what they sell - home-feel food and service. Honest and friendly servers who are passionate about their food. Lovely decor and wish I had more time in Oporto to try all their dishes. Definitely a Sharing experience. We had the fried octopus, it was ok quite bland just a "fried" taste couldn't make out the octopus, the sausage mix (I forgot the name) plenty of small frank sausages but not enough of the other meat and it was bit too salty, kind of disappointed it was not a "Portuguese cooking style" I enjoyed the Kale the most. I wanted to really like this place however it's not for me. The waitress was lovely and the sangaria rose was fantastic everything else not so much. Three stars at most, but lowered it after I got the bill and was charged 5 euro for the bread they put on the table when I sat down. I know his is Common in Europe, but I find it really irritating! I really wanted to rate this restaurant higher though, but ultimately seriously disappointing food and the bogus charges led to the rating. My waiter was excellent and recommended a great wine, which he let me try before pouring the glass (not common in Portugal I've noticed). He then recommended dishes and took the time to explain them. Sadly when he dishes arrived they were very underwhelming. Don't let them talk you into too much food! The wine was great, the decor nice, the service good, that's all that got this restaurant the 3rd star.
