  We went to the restaurant for the Time Out box, and truly enjoyed the food, but specially the service was great! The waitress was kind, warm and offered us an extra glass of wine just after we finished the bottle and were finishing our dessert. These kind of details, that are not expected, make a difference from someone who pay attention to the mood of the table.   Such a fantastic little restaurant. The service was impeccable, my wife couldn’t decide between the ceviche and the scallops and they brought her the scallops on the house!   Absolutely phenomenal restaurant. We can't rate it highly enough. We went for dinner and sample some delicious local wine and port. We certainly got that! The waiters certainly know and love their wines. We were given a detailed guided tour of many wines and ports which were really lovely, accompanied by some amazing cheeses.   Wow!!!! This place is absolutely incredible. The pork plumes were amazing, along with the scallops, panko shrimp, and grilled octopus. Ceviche was delicious too. The desserts were also amazing—definitely try the lava cake with the yuzu sorbet. The olive oil cake was also super yummy and came with a delicious whipped cream.   If you’re looking for a wide choice of expensive wine then this is the place to go. If you’re simply after a nice drink on a night out then there are many better bars with much better service. The waiter here was so busy chatting up lady customers he forgot to take our order, then brought just one of 2 drinks and completely forgot the second. There are so many lovely bars with great service on this street, I suggest give Alibi a miss.   Very enjoyable dinner! Although the breads were cold but they were soft and tasty. The herb butter was melting, the olives tasted great. Octopus and Seabass ceviche were amazingly fresh and delicious. Panko shrimp was very good also. Quite filling so by the time we got to the blood sausage and scallops we were full.   Budget rooms above an excellent restaurant. Staff very helpful and kind with English, French, Spanish spoken! Amazing. Useful and helpful communication via WhatsApp. Rooms and hallways aren't carpeted so noise does carry, but this is a European standard so expected. Rooms are tidy and clean and well presented, includes a kettle which is brilliant, and milk is available downstairs if you can't start the day without a cuppa like me. Cold breakfast is a little limited but definitely adequate. Hot drinks available. 10% off the restaurant if you are staying upstairs.   We were naive and had no idea that for dinner, you had to reserve a table each evening in Porto. Alibi was so kind to let my mother, sister, and I wait at the bar to still get a table for dinner right after opening dinner service.   Serendipity, we managed to bag the last table in the restaurant this evening. Fabulously sophisticated and luxurious decor, friendly efficient service. The food was mmmmm….the guests on the next table kept glancing over to see what we were mmmming over. Delicious, juicy chargrilled iberico black pork and osso bucco perfectly cooked. The potato gratin was moist but not too rich with a perfect crisp crust on top. The serecaia was perfectly balanced with fig, port and coffee ice cream. Yum!!   We came here on 23/9/23 for dinner. The restaurant is stylish with a great ambience. Food was very good and our waiter Bruno was excellent and knowledgable. We thought it was a good meal but not the best we had in Porto. We shared a starter of octopus which we loved, and followed by a seafood cataplana for 2 (similar to a bouillabaisse). It had a very generous amount of fish and seafood in it was mostly well cooked. The smaller prawns were overcooked and should have been added to the dish later. Alibi is a wine bar as well as a restaurant and many wines are not on their list. We left it to Bruno to select, and it was excellent. However, it was Euro46 which his high for Portugal. While we really enjoyed it we found we did not have to spend this amount for equally good wine and though it was a bit of an upsell. It was more expensive than many other places we ate at which we don't mind, however, many less expensive places represent better value On the whole though, a very good experience and we really enjoyed the evening (Traduzido pelo Google) Viemos aqui no dia 23/09/23 para jantar.   Had reservation and was seated promptly, however after 45 minutes with no service we walked out. The place is not that big, not many tables. Go elsewhere, where service is better.   Stopped here for some wine, and stayed for dinner - it was wonderful! We sat on their back terrace at sunset. Knowledgeable staff (wines) and menu with something for everyone.   The food was INCREDIBLE. We have been in Portugal for two weeks and this was the best food without a doubt. We had oysters, tiger prawns, and pork belly. It was all to die for. For sides we had sweet potatoes and rice. The sweet potatoes were elite. The rice was ok, but wouldn't recommend it - the rice wasn't bad, but it's nothing special. However everything else was very special, and you should definitely eat here! The service is awesome too - our waiter was super knowledgeable about wine, and brought us a 2015 light bodied red at a fair price. You can get a great bottle for 21 euro here. Obviously it would be cheaper at a supermarket because you can get a decent bottle of wine for 5 euro in Portugal, but hey you're at a restaurant, and overall 21 euros isn't so bad for a high quality bottle. Also, it was comfortable to eat inside the restaurant too - I feel like I have to say this, because yesterday we were at a "fancy" place but I was sweating the whole time because it was hot af inside the restaurant. The starters were the best we have had in Porto: we demolished the broken egg, ceviche, scallops and gambas. If we weren’t tourists I would be returning every week! The restaurant has three rooms: the first, where the bar is, is quite elegant (but was full of suitcases and backpacks when we walked through); the second was a nice room with a view of the patio; and the third was the covered terrace/patio. The menu at lunch is semi-limited, not all items are offered until dinner. The food was okay. We had the beef sandwich and it was kind of dry and tough. It has quite a romantic atmosphere, we sat outside on the patio and were able to see the lovely view over the balcony. We ordered the beef tartare, probably the best I've had, the meat was very tender and not over seasoned.   So there we were, ducking into this place during a bit of a rain shower. A couple of people were chilling at the bar. We asked if we could hang out inside with some wine and munchies. The kitchen peeps were all smiles and nods, not really speaking English but more than happy to help out. They checked in the back and then waved us on in. The place looked great but, a bit empty,with just one table taken. That's when this guy, looking like he ran the joint but probably just the bouncer, strutted over (bald, bearded guy as mentioned in other one star reviews) We thought we had hit the jackpot, until I asked if we could nab a table. His response was about as gentle as a brick through a window, "No! No! We're full." Scratching our heads, I said, "Seems like there's plenty of room." But Mr. 'Customer Service' had other plans, telling us 'we open in 30 minutes' before basically booting us out. Guess he left his manners at home that day. It's nuts how some people believe they can act however they want when they've got a steady stream of customers. You'd most likely get a friendlier welcome at a Michelin star restaurant if you rocked up wearing nothing but your birthday suit and a pair of flip-flops.   My mom and I ate here for our last dinner in Porto and we loved every single thing about it. Our waitress was amazing - so helpful, friendly, and prompt - as was the rest of the staff. Once you walk in, you get the vibe of the place, your nose fills up of oregano, grilled meat, burnt thyme… We only ate exceptional things here but what really struck out was the Cauliflower and truffle soup and if you need to choose a side dish, go for the oven rice - thank me later.   We went to Alibi as a last minute choice as we did not expect to have every good restaurant of Porto booked.. We picked Alibi because of the reviews... Well... What a huge disappointment. Service was nice but the food was Awful. Bread had no taste, everything else swimming into fat and greasy oil. The meat was not of the best quality on either sirloin and lamb.. Let's not talk about the side dishes. And all of this for a more than average price. Im not sure what to think about the liability of the reviews on this one. Do not recommend.   Very good food with a nice wine bar in front. Problem is the wine bar and restaurant have only a few wines by the glass. Food was very good but service was spotty and the restaurant lacked charm.   Unfortunately after a week going all over Portugal this was the one meal of the trip that disappointed. The seafood rice was flavorless and we couldn’t eat more than a few bites.   Lovely atmosphere and cocktails. We were grateful they were able to seat us without a reservation on a Monday when so many places are closed. The ceviche was delicious. But the steaks which they feature as their main dishes were not good quality beef, not well seasoned and def disappointing. I can’t speak to the seafood entrées but would not recommend the steaks.   Ultimately a good experience, asked if I could be seated at a different table and was denied due to being fully booked. By the end of my booking the restaurant was still only 10% occupied, which was strange. Food wise, avoid the fried octopus starter, it's a totally unremarkable dish and the octopus is completely lost in the batter, you can't taste it, at best it offers a texture. The beef tenderloin was cooked perfectly though and a delight to eat, the vinaigrette served with it really works well with the steak. I can also strongly recommend the baked potatoes and the puréed beetroot. Both delicious and well made. For dessert, you should try the pears in saffron with chocolate. Really excellent collection of flavours that come together beautifully in the mouth. My server recommended a port, Graham's six grapes, which is without a doubt an excellent recommendation. I'd visit again, but not sure it's quite the fine dining experience it's trying to be, but it is very very close. For main we had the sirloin and tenderloin steaks, both very good. For dessert we had the cooked pear which was nice. Good service that just needs a little bit more attention to become excellent.   I'm giving this 4 stars as I was very disappointed in the way my booking was managed. This restaurant promotes their terrace on Google and therefore I booked this 3 weeks in advance thinking I will be seated on the terrace as advertised, only to find out that my table was inside and they only seat people outside if they request the terrace...a bit in poor taste given I booked this 3 weeks in advance and I had no idea they have an indoor area as well.   Such a lovely lunch on a rainy day. I'm from Porto currently aboard and during a walk in the city centre, I visited this new/recent restaurant. What I can say and advise all the people that love good food it is this will be the place to go. I sat in the back of the restaurant an outdoor covered area with a vertical garden and comfortable table/chairs. For starters, I shared a ceviche of salmon (fresh fish of the day) and crocantes de alheira (crunchy balls of Portuguese mix of pork meat) which were full of flavours and very well prepared. For the main course, I ate braised steaks with chips and side sauce (again very well cooked, the meat was premium so you could eat it without any sauce only salt if you want...) and my wife the salmon with some cooked vegetables (proper salmon from the ocean, very well grilled and big portion). For dessert I shared a tangerine cheesecake, that was amazing. The staff was very attentive and friendly, and during this "new days of COVID", it is always good to find the place clean and well prepared with safety measures in place. I would highly recommend it to anyone who lives or is visiting Porto. If you are a group better so you can share more starters... 😉 It is not cheap but it is for sure an excellent choice to eat in Porto! Absolutely to repeat! Feel free to see my pictures of the meal...   This is undoubtedly one of the best hostels in which I have ever stayed. The staff was amazing, taking care of us during our whole stay, the food was superb and the views of the city breathtaking.   Exceptional staff - a group of young and enthusiastic people who did their best to make us feel welcomed there. Our room was cozy, and the breakfast was good. The number of rooms in this guest house is not big, and you somehow get to learn all the guests during breakfasts. The location was perfect - everything was close to us (5 minutes walk to the river, and couple of minutes walk to the old city center).   Must admit we were very dissapointed with food here and price was quite high, compared to some smaller, local places with much better food. Soup was not the best, too griesy, pasta with shrimps was just satisfactory. Had the feeling food was missing spices, even garlic was incredibly weak for Portuguese kitchen. You will only pay for nice interior, nothing else.   What a find ! The food absolutely gorgeous , lovely setting with a little outdoor area overlooking the river (and many roofs ). Very relaxed and food is cooked to perfection . Not expensive at all for European wallets. Waitresses could be more engaging ( especially the taller one ) but that’s maybe just my opinion . We had a fantastic lunch .   Had a lovely dinner here during a short stay in Porto. I had the seafood linguine and my husband had the risotto. Both were delicious. Very flavorful with fresh ingredients.   Loved this place, lively area at night, clean and comfortable. We arrived two days after a heatwave and glad we were not there during it as no Aircon and hard to leave the windows open with the nightlife outside.   I was curious about local food in Porto. Francesinha, looking like lasagna, yet being a sandwich, blew my mind by its rich and flavourful sauce. Arguably fries a francesinha gets traditionally served with are unnecessary here unless you happen to be a big eater. A goat cheese with pumpkin jelly I had for dessert was a perfect balance of salty and sweet, lovely! Yet another day in Porto was definitely not wasted.   A great and friendly hostel! We, a couple, had booked a small room with bathroom for one night for a very good price. When we did the check in they told us we got a bigger room for the same price :) since it was aviable. The room was nice and clean. We were very happy!   We got the most top apartment. It is big with 2 bedrooms, one kitchen, a toilet, a salón with comfortable sofa. It has total 4 beds. Really suitable for a family of 4-6. Situated in city centre. Very near to point 1 for hop on hop off bus. And has numerous numbers of shop, cafe, restaurants nearby. It just that it has no lift, so a bit trouble if you have big luggages to be carried upstairs.   Attractively designed and decorated restaurant on the ground floor of a guesthouse by the same name. There is a beautiful garden with tables in the back. They serve breakfast (7€ pp), lunch and dinner. At lunch bedside their regular menu they offer a daily menu that includes soup, entree, beverage and coffee for 9.50€, an excellent price. We went there for lunch and the special daily menu entree was stuffed pork roulade served over rice, which was very good. We also ordered pasta pomodoro (8.50€). The pasta was good but a bit too much sauce. The soup of the day, vegetable soup, was tasty but could have been a tad more hot. The service was excellent.   Having worked in yours bistro for a few weeks, i always wondered about how some of its dishes tasted while serving them to my costumers. And so today as i was walking nearby to buy some school material i made the hasty decision to eat something there. I did not have much time but i thought i could have some starter before I left to a scheduled compromise. To this occasion, I chose a folhado de queijo de cabra (pastry with goat cheese inside). One could think i would be a bit preoccupied with questions of time from some reviewers here in tripadvisor, but that was not really the case. The folhado was overall of my liking. It is goat cheese inside puff pastry with nuts and almonds and it is topped with a sweet jam. Although I am not really in favour of mixing cheese with sweet, the pastry and the compota combined well with the mixed salad served on bottom. Nevertheless, at the end i had the sensarion that the cheese could be accompanied with something else... All in all it was a nice little meal for the time being!
