  Beautiful and cozy restaurant, family run, excellent menu. I have been coming here for dinner for three nights and they never missed. Their octopus in green sauce appetizer is excellent, potato and cauliflower soup is awesome, and their baked octopus main dish is wonderful.   Found the place by accident. And they just had a cancelation so we could sit too. And the food was amazing. The bread was great with a variety of types, cod cakes were on point. We went back for 3 nights to try more of the food. The rabbit was the best, the veal was soooo good too. High quality food. Recommend to make a reservation.   Honest place, decent food and prices. Had the octopus appetizer (which was super tender), grilled sardines and seafood rice. The seafood rice alone was enough for a couple.   This is a local restaurant and run by a family. My guesthouse staff suggested me and it was really worth it. The service is excellent. I was alone so I didn’t have chance to try as many dish as I want. The octopus was fresh+tasty and go well with the white wine. I ended the meal with dessert and it was a joyful night for me.   This place is amazing: small restaurant with just a few tables, very traditional, friendly staff and amazing food. If you are in the mood for some simple and extremely well cooked dishes, this is the place for you! In our short stay in Porto we visited the place twice, ordering different dishes and being happy with them all. Also a good selection of regional wines.   Looks to be a family-owned mom and pop shop with awesome food and fairly priced. The black pork cheeks and grilled seabass was divine. The grilled veal was also amazing. We had almond cake as cake of the day and it was so good we ordered another one. Definitely go here over the restaurant next door!   Little place off the main area, a little hidden. We went for lunch and the service and food were lovely. Bread, grilled sardines, seafood pasta and fried fish were all very good, as was the wine.   We got here around 9:30p our first night and was the last table to be seated before closing. This is a little bit off the main waterfront area in a little alleyway but it was super cozy and perfect! We ordered the green salad, fried sardines, seafood rice and baked octopus for the 3 of us. Everything was amazing! I’d definitely recommend the items we ordered. The owner/cook was also this older gentleman who was extremely friendly and gave us tastes of both the red Porto and white Porto before giving us our glasses!   I ate at this place 10 years ago, two evenings in a row. Tiny old world cafe run by father, mother, son (mum cooking). Good honest food (but not great) and a truly authentic experience. The place was already top reco on some travel books and websites. So a bit spoiled and expensive even back then. I just caught a glimpse of the current prices and oh my world!!!...   Reservations at restaurants in Europe are pretty hard to come by if not made with enough time ahead. That was the case on A Grade. However, using the reservation system in Google we communicated with the personnel in the restaurant and they went out of their way to make accommodations for us. Nevertheless, that was not their best; their food was! The octopus and fish dishes were AMAZING because of their simplicity, minimum ingredients, FRESHNESS, and incredible flavors.   I normally don’t like fish with bones, but the sardines in this place were amazing!! The potatoes were also really good. There were four tables outside and a couple of tables inside. It’s a small local place tucked away on a small street. The prices were surprisingly high though on par with a bit fancier looking places, at least 12 euros per dish. The owner is a friendly gentlemen, didn’t speak much English, but that was definitely not an issue.   We had the best meal of our trip to Porto here. It’s in a little alley metres off the main tourist promenade and so much more homey with excellent food. I had a very delicious caldo verde and excellent grilled octopus. The chef also gave us a bowl of octopus rice to try - delicious! Very reasonable prices.   Highly recommend, awesome food. Dined here this evening after reading about the string of positive comments on TripAdvisor that were right on. We arrived at about 6pm, without a reservation prior and got a table. The menu was in English and the layout was good. Ordered a potato and cabbage soup, vegetable salad, seafood pasta and grilled sardines. The food was cooked to perfect balance. Doesn't feel superficial and very home feel. The menu is fairly limited but I guess they excel in everything that's on it. The restaurant is quite small, maybe 4 to 5 tables indoors and some outdoor. It's best to either ring them to reserve a table or turn up early. The food is well priced and the service was good. I give this restaurant and my overall experience a big thumbs up.   Octopus tenacles and roasted kid (not your kid but a young goat) are a few of the many traditional Portuguese home made dishes at this family-owned restaurant. Great flavors just didn't blow me away thus 4 stars.   Went for a dinner and couldn't resist coming back for the second night. Had their grilled octopus which was the best I've had anywhere or even ever imagined. The appearance and seasoning seemed so simple they might deceive you at first, but the tender texture and succulent taste do wonders. The offered house white wine was good, too. Prices also better than most other places in Porto. As other reviews have mentioned, it's family-runned business where you could see the father cooking and son serving.   Maybe I just ordered the wrong thing. Dont get the lamb or the clams. Both were like an appetizer. Lamb was overcooked, dry, and not very fresh. Wet tomato rice with no flavor and rice was hard. Probably stick to seafood dishes here. They seem to have better reviews. Lamb portions were small, clams did not have much flesh. We ordered a basket of bread toward the end of our meal to fill up, and then went out for snacks later at another restaurant.   Great service, the waiter was taking care about all details, salways smiling. I tried the grilled sardines, a specialty of Porto, it was heavenly delicious. The almond tart was also good.   We stumbled upon this tiny-cozy restaurant during our hike through the Porto streets and we were blown away by their food and hospitality. My wife being vegetarian they took due care of her unique taste and needs (which is very rare these days as restaurants want to shove their menu most of the time for vegetarians). We also had our 7 months baby who being a baby would drop things on the floor multiple time but the owner being so nice gave him a new toy and told us to enjoy the food while he kept talking to our son. This by far was one of the best meals we had in our trip to Greece and Portugal.   The octopus was beyond amazing. Seattle has great seafood and I didn't know octopus could be so tender. Seabass was also cooked to perfection. Ended the meal with port on the house and coffee.   The restaurant was recommended by a local as a good spot. It is a few steps away from the obvious "tourist traps" along the river border. A very friendly host did his best to communicate in the little english he knows. We had fabulous Polvo (Octopus) and disappointing Clamps. The clamps where even recommended as a local dish in a Chinese travelbook that the girl at the table next to us had as guide. I would actually rather recommend to go for the oher (fresh!) seafood and the Polvo . The white house wine (10 Eur) is called "Entre Margens Branco Avesso" and a very decent one. Even better is the "Muralhas de Moncao" (15 Eur). Tip: Go to the fisherman villlage "Sao Pedro de Afurada" on the other side of the Douro to have the same excellent food for 2/3 of the price ...   We ate here on our first night in Porto. A fantastic experience in a cosy and very friendly family run restaurant. We ate the oven baked octopus and a rabbit stew along with a fantastic bottle of Valle da Poupa white wine. The food is simple, honest and incredibly tasty. We ate relatively early (about 8.30) with only one other couple who were regular visitors from Lisbon, within minutes of sitting down we were chatting across the tables and they recommended some amazing desserts and even shared some of their incredible sardines with us. After a digestive of Burmester Port and a taste of aguardente (fire water) we left feeling perfectly welcomed to an amazing city.
