  The food is exquisite to say the least — I have loved the shrimp pad thai, probably the best I’ve ever had! The staff is lovely as well; even though I was on my own and hadn’t booked in advance, they managed to give me a table without making me wait (and on a Sat night, before Easter!). They were super kind from the beginning until the end of my dinner. Highly recommended!!!   Outstanding food and the best service we received in Porto. Assisting in our service, we spoke to immigrants from Brazil, Thailand, and Korea. I had the chicken lard, my wife had the Pad Thai, my son had the basil chicken. We all shared Papaya Salad and sticky rice. It was absolutely incredible with no difference in taste from what we get in USA. The service is what sets this place apart. They absolutely aim to serve and everything is done with a smile.   I truly love this find! Not only was the food truly amazing, the people (staff) love what they do and you can tell just by the greeting you receive when you walk in. The food was amazing and the taste is out of this world! I had the tom yum soup, thai salad, and pinapple curry and it was all so delicious full of flavor. The staff was super friendly and helpful with spice level recommendations that were right on point. After a long long day traveling they even packed some of my food to go for me so that I could enjoy the rest from the comfort of my hotel.   Another fuyooo from a foodie and Thai food addict. Kapaw Kai has been my craving for the past couple of years and I didn’t expect to meet with the love of my appetite in Porto. For sure Thailander has improved my rating of the city itself. The authenticity of the taste is unreal.   As a Thai person, I always searched for a good Thai place whenever I traveled. I lived in Lebanon and was able to do a short vacation in Lisbon and Porto so I stopped by at Thailander after a walk to Gaia. I have to admit that this is the closest to home I could ever get in Europe. I love their Som Tum (Papaya Salad) and Tom Yum soup. Service was great. The waiters warned me that the dishes I ordered were spicy so I had to tell them I can take it because I’m Thai 😊. I will return to Thailander in a heartbeat when I’m in Porto again.   This place feels overrated to me. All of us were in the mood for Pad Thai and all of us felt the same way about the dish…a bit bland and boring. Not nearly as tasty as so many others I’ve had. It was not bad, but not great either. And for almost 14 Euros for the vegetarian version (more for meat options), it was our opinion that it’s overpriced. We had pad thai which was average but the red thai curry with duck was truly exceptional! My bus husband had the duck dish and I was helping hom finish the huge portion.   Somebody said they traveled 2 hours by train and it was the best Thai restaurant outside of Thailand. I CAN BEAT THIS!!! We flew 2 hours 30 mins from London to eat here!!! Spent a long weekend with my wife in Porto. Wanted a change from the traditional Portuguese food we had been eating for days. The food was amazing and very authentic.   Unfortunate to know what was once a great restaurant with some of the best Thai food in Portugal is no longer. Khao Soi and the preceding salad had no flavour- tasted like water. Service was also unwelcoming and inattentive. Which is unusual for Porto. Hopefully the restaurant can return to its former self, but won't be finding out as this was clearly my last visit.   Had their shrimp pad Thai. It was a very generous portion with great flavour and ample prawns that were perfectly cooked. I got it as take out and it was still hot when I got back to my hotel room. We had Tom Kha Soup with Chicken for starters and I had the Krapow chicken and my husband had the Pad Thai Fruit of the Sea, both were some of the best Thai food that we have ever eaten.   Friendly and attentive staff. Portions are pretty big. Food is good. We had a Tom Kha soup as a starter, the green curry and the stir fried basil for main and the sticky mango rice as desert. Except for the desert, nothing amazing but certainly better than other Asian food places in Porto. Unfortunately in the two hours we were there, there occurred 5 power-cuts, which I never experienced to such an extent in Portugal and it was a bit disrupting. Also we were seated downstairs and the ventilation isn't really great. I felt I smell like a spring roll myself after leaving the place Atmosphere hence isn't really great and was a bit of a turnoff.   That‘s how it‘s should be done: we were waiting an awful amount of time for our food. We asked how much longer we had to wait. After 2 minutes the waitress came and apologised because there was a mix up in the kitchen. We got two free drinks and 5 minutes later we got our starters. After that everything went smoothly. The waitress apologised again a few times. The food was great and the way they handled the issue was great. That’s why they deserve 5 stars! You get to choose on a scale of 1 to 5, 5 being the highest or spiciest. I ordered everything at a spice level 5 and it was absolutely amazing. Highly recommended. Reserve tables in advance.   Hands down one of my favorite restaurant in Portugal! I live in Lisbon and Tha is hands down my favorite, believe it or not I once got a a 3 hour train ride just so I could buy food here! ! I lived a couple years in Thailand and have been there at least 20 times, I was looking for good authentic Thai food,( not the fake stuff Asian restaurants usually cook for white people) I have been to at least 4 restaurants in Lisbon and nothing compares to this place! The food is authentic fresh and always delicious! I cannot praise this place enough! I like my food extremely spicy even for Thai standards and they always hook me up, service is attentive and kind, price is good in fact for this food I would even pay more, and I always feel at home! I have had every single dish on the menu except for the satay and the Tom kah soup, everything is really good, my favorite is the papaya salad the pad kaprow with pork or seafood if you like seafood have the seafood. Its the best! And the massaman curry very mild and full of flavour! The larb with sticky rice is also one of my fav! I also always have the sticky rice with mango and coconut milk!! Always good!   I had the pad see ew, spring rolls, and the pad krapow. The pad krapow was spicy/delicious and the spring rolls are crunchy and just spot on. The pad see ew was not as sweet, nor as gravy-ish as they should be and the noodle used is also not the correct one. It tasted fine but it just wasn't what I was expecting. But you can't win all...   Just so damn good. Definitely the best Thai food that I have found in Europe and I don’t even think it’s close. Outstanding food, and the service is great too. Every single one of the waitresses has been kind and friendly. Cannot recommend highly enough. Bonus tip: make a reservation, as other people notice their quality and it can get quite busy.   Amazing food. Amazing service. Prices are a little higher than other restaurants, but only slightly and it’s absolutely worth it. Portions are very large and absolutely delicious.   We visited this place because I really want to eat Asian food in Porto. Ended up not regretting anything. We ordered Pad Thai Vegetarian & Chicken massaman curry. The Pad Thai vege has generous amount of Tofu in it, and the portion is somewhere between medium-large. While the Massaman a little bit too spicy for some people. However in case you would like to have a softer taste, you definitely can ask them to adjust the spicyness. Both food are really delicious. When we went there it was just weekday evening but the place is packed. Maybe best to call them beforehand to see if reservation is needed or not. I definitely coming back if I visit Porto again.   sooooo good! my friend and I were lucky to get a table as most of them were already reserved or occupied. the waitresses were super kind and attentive, the whole atmosphere was so welcoming. and the food! best thai food I ever had, no kidding. I had fried rice with vegetables & pineapple, my friend the red curry.   Thailander may look like an average asian restaurant, but it’s much more than that. Friendly staff, delicious food, good portions and ambience. We ordered the Thai fried rice and Tom Kha.The Thai fried rice was packed with excellent flavors. We added chicken to the fried rice (more options are available). The Tom Kha soup dish was delicious and I would recommend this dish if you like the creamy coconut flavor. The soup itself is mildly sour with a pleasant aroma. Finally we also tried their iced coffee which was perfectly brewed. If you like to try Thai cuisine in Porto, do give this place a try.   110% super amazing food. I have lived in Europe for 3 years and this is the best Thai food I have had outside of South East Asia. The staff were attentive and the Singha beer was really cold.   Super yummy restaurant and couldn’t recommend it more! I had spring rolls and a green curry and both were delicious! The green curry in particular was one of the best I’ve had outside of Asia. Plus the owner is lovely!! Definitely visit if you’re in Porto and would like a change of taste from the traditional food!   Once you enter the restaurant the smell reminds you of Thailand and the food tastes like you’re in Thailand. Very good Thai restaurant a bit pricey for the type of food, but that’s normal in Portugal, all foreign food costs a bit extra. Will come back for sure.   Went with some friends, we had the pad Thai, mix of appetizers and khao soi. We also had gin tonic and other cocktails. For dessert we had the Thai rice with ice cream and mango. Everything was perfect, very well seasoned with fresh ingredients and service was super friendly! It’s a place to return!   My husband and I recently moved to Porto from the UK. We have just had the most delicious Thai meal since visiting Thailand.
