  Place looks nice, food was good. Upon arrival there was plenty of staff standing around but noone seemed to be motivated to welcome the guests... throughout the stay they weren't attentive. Also: half the menu isn't available for lunch. This information is given once you already sat down :D... well... it was ok.   We went for a bite after a busy day. We picked some garlic bread for starters, it was very tasty but small (the dish has 2 small garlic breads, we had to ask for 2 dishes to accommodate the 4 of us). The size of the pizzas were ok, pasta portion was, again, a lil small. Everything tasted good. The desserts were actually decent size-wise, although they didn't have every option on the menu (it was around 14.30 h). They place bread, garlic oil and olives on the table as snack before you even order (even if you don't ask for them) but charge you around 5 euros for them (I'm guessing it was the famous coperto). Service was ok, the atmosphere was also ok...nothing to die for. I found it overall ok but more on the expensive side to be honest.   A must try when travelling to Porto. For such a fine dining experience the price was very reasonable and absolutely worth it. The food was of the highest quality (I had the Risotto which was to die for!). We were attended by Leonardo, who was incredibly kind, attentive and easy to talk to.   Absolute brutal attitudes. Our credit cards (two) were mysteriously declined when it was time to pay even though we had used them 3x in the two hours prior to dining. They ran both our cards multiple times and when I started to get nervous, they gave us full attitude and were completely rude to us. And then mysteriously my card went through!?! They even caught me on my way out the door to berate ME for being concerned about the number of times they ran my card. The food was ok. Service was lousy.   very bad experience today with my two friends. we all went for pasta/risotto and it was all extremely overcooked. risotto was like a porridge, every bite also tasted the same. burrata on my friends pasta was watery and she said it tasted like spaghetti in milk. the service was also not great. we didn’t finish the food and nobody asked anything if it was good or not. the starters were also a scam. you pay for the old bread that’s already on your table when you get seated. we ordered a starter that was the same price as a main dish and the cheeses and ham were lower quality than in the supermarket around the corner and just not flavourful at all. we all went away with a stomach ache while we where actually really hungry going in to the restaurant. too bad. atmosphere was also very commercial like a fast food restaurant. do not come here.   DO NOT COME HERE if you have any sort of allergy or intolerance, or simply do not like certain ingredients. I came here in February with my friend, hoping to enjoy a delicious pizza based on previous reviews. As my friend is vegetarian, we asked to remove the meat from one of the pizzas. We were told this was not possible as this was a signature pizza and the manager wouldn’t allow it. As this was the case, we then asked to order another one of the pizzas without mushrooms due to an intolerance. The waiter agreed and placed the order. 10 minutes later, the pizza finally arrived with mushrooms. The waiter was very apologetic as this was simply a mistake from the kitchen. He went to inform the kitchen, and suddenly the manager was involved. When he mentioned that we wanted to remove the mushrooms, she shouted from the bar « NO! », causing everyone to look. This was very aggressive and no way to treat the staff or the restaurant’s patrons. We will not be returning or suggesting this place to anyone who is visiting Porto. It is understandable to not want to change your dishes, but it was not acceptable the way the manager spoke to her employees or her clients. It was off putting and made for a very uncomfortable dining experience.   Overall: Great, dependable pizza place that scratches that specific pie itch. The good: Good pizza and crust, with plenty of options to choose from. A chewy and charred crust with plenty of toppings on top. Comes out hot relatively quickly as well. A little bit of outdoor seating, and plenty of indoor seating. Staff was friendly and helpful with the menu. Free WiFi. It was a great fallback when we weren't able to find reservations/seating at other nearby places. The waitress charged the full 15€ on the card and was giving them a hard time about giving back the cash!   We came around 8:30PM on a Saturday night and it was quite busy. We were lucky enough that we came at a time where a bunch of people were leaving so a lot of tables opened up. Unfortunately our waitress was stressed by getting so many tables at the same time. The poor thing was getting help from some of her colleagues, so that is nice that they help each other out. But because she was busy, so wasn't too attentive to the tables. And they kept having to ask for oil or wait a while for the questions to be answered. Another comment on the service: a couple were served pizzas and someone accidentally spilled wine on the pizza. The server was so kind to get the woman a new pizza (which came quickly) and they gave her a refill of wine 👍🏼 The pizza was surprisingly served quickly, for being busy I expected it to take longer. We were happiest with our Il Pizzaiolo pizza. We also ordered a díavaloina, which was like a Spicer version of a pepperoni pizza. Nothing wrong with that, but we just had different expectations. Some people complain that the pizza is burnt but that is the delicious part of a neopolitian style pizza, which we LOVE!!! But neither pizza was spicy 💔 We also ordered a bottle of Vinho Verde Azerelo (sp???) which was 14 euro. It was alright, nothing special. But we are new to Vinho Verdes.   This place gives you impression of a true pizzeria, but even with all the decor and presentation, it is not much better than a fast food. Service is bad, waiters and waitresses are overwhelmed.   We ordered the lunch menu which is a great deal for €8.95 and includes soup+drink+main+coffee. The food was pretty good and when we ordered the coffees at the end, we asked the waiter if it's regular coffee only. He explained that we could also order espresso/cappuccino etc. which we did. When the bill came, there was an additional cost of €2.50 for the cappuccino and €2 for the espresso and the manager said that our waiter has only been working there for a week and that she'd let him know.   I'll admit, I wasn't planning on eating Italian food when I went to Portugal but Il Pizzaiolo managed to create a perfect mix between the little bit rustic vibe of the Portuguese kitchen and a real Italian pasta. Same goes for their delicious appetizers. We came in during lunch, when it was still very quiet, but I know they can be packed during the evening. We had the garlic bread with mozzarella, which is simply to die for and makes you want to eat nothing else for the rest of the day, a pizza margherita, and the linguini nero e gambi. The linguini might have been one of the best pasta's I've ever eaten. The shrimps were grilled to perfection and the pasta was not overpowered by the taste of the squid-ink. The olive oil used to season the entire dish was a mild one, which requires a compliment to the chef cooking the dish. The taste of the shrimp and the herbs was never overpowered by the oil. I was not as much impressed by their pizza's, but this is not because they weren't good but mostly because I'm personally a big lover of a lot of cheese on my pizza.   We came upon I'll Pizzaiolo on a Saturday afternoon. The place was very busy but we were able to get a table inside. The atmosphere is vibrant and Chic. Menus were promptly presented and our order was taken and drinks served.. Our entrees, Risotto Esparagos Pinho (13€) and Pollo Pizza that was topped with arugula and sun-dried tomato (9.90€) were served in a timely manner. Unfortunately the Risotto was very salty and our server took it back and they made us another one. Our server confirmed that the chef had tasted the Risotto and agreed that it was too salty. The Risotto portion was on the smaller side for 13€. The pizza was perfect. I would have given 5 stars if it wasn't because of the Risotto snafu. There was a single waiter who was going in & out but refused to acknowledge us & another table wishing to pay their bill. Havia um único garçom que entrava e saía, mas se recusava a nos reconhecer e a outra mesa que desejava pagar a conta. Depois que um único visitante se sentou, pediu sua cerveja, recebeu sua bebida e depois fez seu pedido de comida, entrei para pedir serviço. O garçom me parou e foi muito rude sobre o motivo de eu ter entrado. Eu disse a ele que minha esposa e eu estávamos esperando há algum tempo, assim como outra mesa. O garçom então saiu, anotou nosso pedido, mas foi muito rude durante o processo. Ele então entrou bufando e começou a espalhar seus menus, com a visibilidade agitada, então saímos imediatamente. Um local turístico como este é tão bom quanto a equipe, o que é uma pena, porque a comida realmente parecia boa. 1 estrela porque não queria experimentar a comida depois de uma experiência tão ruim.

  The food is nice but the service is not very good. We arrived late but were sited and all were problems. We were told to order soobln because the kitchen was going to close (they could have told us before sitting us) and when we ordered 2 min later we could only order pizza, not even salad. I said we only want to order if we can get also a salad (anything else was anyway not an option). Finally we got also the salad. The food was ok, price was good but service very average. Disseram-nos para pedir soobln porque a cozinha ia fechar (eles poderiam ter nos avisado antes de nos sentar) e quando pedimos 2 minutos depois só podíamos pedir pizza, nem mesmo salada. Eu disse que só queremos pedir se conseguirmos também uma salada (qualquer outra coisa não era uma opção). Finalmente conseguimos também a salada. A comida era ok, o preço era bom, mas o serviço era muito médio.

  Food is good and reasonably priced, specially taking into consideration it's location and nice decor. Portions are modest, specially for salads. Overall the restaurant is good, but I think it would be more inviting, specially during warm days, if it had better air conditioning.
