  Visited A Fábrica de Picaría brewery in Porto, Portugal and had an exceptional experience. The two IPAs on offer were outstanding, boasting rich flavors that are a testament to their brewing expertise. Equally impressive was the beef sandwich (prego no pão) - an absolute delight with its tender, flavorful meat and perfectly toasted bread. What made the visit truly memorable was Ricardo, the bartender. His friendly demeanor and helpful insights into the brewery's selections added a personal touch to our visit. Highly recommend stopping by for anyone in the area. A well-deserved five stars! Possibly only disappointment was the chips which were a bit soggy.   A Fábrica da Picaria is my go-to recommendation or place to eat whenever I visit Porto. I am glad to say that I finally managed to go again for a Francesinha (long overdue!) and I was as satisfied as every other time before. I also remember that the cachorro is good and the bifanas and pregos are to die for! The service is optimal and my last visit was met with a very warm smile that was as filling as the meal - if not more. Until next time!   Just been here for the third time after enjoying the beer and food on previous occasions and sadly it seems like the cooking has gone down hill. The fries arrived soggy and limp, the prega was inedible because the beef was so chewy (got a refund on that), the bifana sauce was also overspiced but on the whole not bad. Fortunately the beer was as good as usual - stick with that and eat somewhere else.   I visited the brewery and I also stayed as a guest. The brewery is small but inviting, staff is nice and it feels homely. But what I really enjoyed was the apartment.   Most of the beers were fairly well balanced, enjoyable, and free of off-flavours - nothing super adventurous (at least when i visited) but I was impressed, given that the craft brewing scene is fairly new in Portugal and some of the others (which I will not name here) had astringency notes throughout all their beers (likely due to crushing grains too finely in the milling stage). The one exception from the four that I tried was the witbier - I can't quite place if it's from milling too finely, too much wheat in the mash, or the hopping choices, but the finish was overly dry and astringent...which is especially odd for the style, IMO.   I really like this place. The service is great with good and home made beer. The waiter always takes time to explain a lot about the local brews. We also tried the food and it was amazing. Together with the cozy and authentic Interieur it was one of the best experiences in Porto.
