  I first discovered bolhao bbgourmet in 2022 as a go-to breakfast place near my hotel. The granola and yogurt with fruit breakfast is outstanding. Now I go there for all my meals, and everything they do is impressive. Very good staff and elegant, simple decor. Highly recommended.   Great dining for our travel group. A quaint experience in the upstairs table. Our server Elvis was attentive and made sure that everything to our satisfaction. The broiled octopus tentacle was done tenderfully and very flavourful. My order of grilled squid w curry sauce was very tasty while my wife's spinach soup and spicy shrimp appetizer w fresh ginger was especially delicious. Dishes were on the smaller portion size, while pricing was fair and delivered in an appetizing presentation. I would recommend and told readily revisit.   We went there for lunch on our last day in Porto. The place had a nice chilled vibe. Food was good. We had the roasted octopus (was a bit dry tho) and the shrimp risotto. The risotto was tasty but we had better Saffron ones in Porto. The portions were very good though and it was cheaper than other places we have been to. They have good coffee too.   Charged us one meal extra!!! Went there for some late lunch, the service seemed nice as they agreed to cook for us outside of lunch hours, but then they did a mistake and wanted to serve us 4 meals when we only ordered 3 meals- we were 3 people and ordered 3 huge meals so not sure how they could think we wanted 4 meals. But after we said it’s not for us and told them we ordered only 3 and didn’t take the food they charged us 4 meals anyway! It’s a shame because the food was ok and the waiters were very nice.   For an afternoon lunch, this is is a casual place with good food. The restaurant is set back from the street (it almost has its own courtyard). The tables are well covered by large umbrellas. People watching there is fantastic. I had a daily special of short ribs, which was quite amazing. For those that like sardines, these were done in a tomato sauce and were quite good.   The restaurant has seating inside and outside. We order the famous francesinha which is a sandwich with different meats rumpsteak, lingwiza, ham and fresh sausage with melted cheese and an egg on the top and a special sauce all over. The taste was really good, a bit spicy. The portion was generous. We also order Binho verde, a kind of a white wine but not that dry.   The waitress tried to ignore our table from 2m distance, imitating help to her colleague with cleaning one table, until her senior colleague pointed it out, so she had to address our table, but in quite an unwilling manner (while being polite and speaking good English). They did not have the white port wine which was on the menu. No port wine. In Porto. Lupins (nibble beans) are over-salted. Atmosphere = none. (We were on the terrace). No smiles policy seems to be applied to all personnel. Also, it took more than 10 minutes to bring us two glasses of wine with a portion of nuts, having 80% of their tables empty. And to top it all, they charged me 10,40€ instead of 10,00€ for a glass of 20yo port wine, giving as excuse the fact that it was the last serving of the current bottle so the waitress allegedly served me more than I should have gotten - to my opinion, the 50ml were not even there.. and the last serving of a port wine is not considered to have any "noble fallouts" as it is with red wine or ale.. Pity, because the location is amazing. I have to admit service is a bit slow, it takes a while to rollout the dishes. And the place is not particularly cheap, some dishes are even quite expensive for the portions you get.   The overall rating here is misleading, unfortunately the 4.1 seems to be from 1 and 2 stars from a long time ago that they can’t seem to shed, because I couldn’t fault the service and the food was great! The management must have changed over in the past year, great octopus dish from the special menu. I guess the one advantage of the rating being lower than it should is that I was able to get a table quickly! Give this place a chance!   We enjoyed the food, atmosphere and service by our waiter Wilson. The goat cheese puffs as an appetizer with a glass of vinho verde was a very good beginning. Then ordered the roasted pulvo (octopus) which was perfectly prepared and tender, the grilled sea bass was delicious, and the shrimp risotto was very flavorful and contained plenty of shrimp. Bread was accompanied by house made tapenade and was free, not always the case in Portuguese restaurants. The prices were not too expensive. Located two blocks from My Story Apartments Santa Catarina (a great place to stay by the way). Highly recommend BBGourmet and would dine there again.   They are racists. I was there twice during my trip. First impression was good. The waiter has very wellcoming attitudes and good services were provided. Second time when we were there, we ordered 4 main dishes including octopus. But we didnt get what we ordered but cod fish with chips. We asked if there was a mistake. Then after the waitress served all the dishes she finally mentioned that there was no more ingradiants for the octopus dish so she changed the dish without asking, without mentioning. That already made me feel very upset. She didnt even apologize. But we just took it as if it’s not her fault cos we didnt wanna ruin our trip and the time. Then when we asked for the bill, there were 2 things wrong. 1, they charge us one bottle of wine instead of a glass. 2. They put the same price as if we had octopus(octopus dish was 19e, and the cod dish was 14.) I felt it was wrong and obviously we were duped and looked down. Till the end, they still pretend they didnt do anything wrong. The food was okay, but will never ever visit again. So if you go there, always check the bill carefully. Otherwise its scam.   I have ordered take away for me and my family yesterday night with BB Gourmet Bolhão. The driver from Uber eats delivered a bag and I realised when I opened it that there were some items missing (a soup and francesinha sauce). As I had no way of contacting the driver, I called BB Gourmet and explained that we had some items missing and if they could contact the driver. They said they had packed those 2 items in a separate bag and I said that I had only received 1 bag... They said they couldn't contact the driver as they used Uber eats and just apologised as there was nothing they could do. They had packed the soup and the sauce so their work had been done!! So I didn't receive a refund or the soup and sauce... I thought the service was really really poor there... I have paid for a service so it is their responsibility to ensure that I have the service I've paid for! The very minimum they could have done is at least refund me for the food I have never received...   This is one of the best in Porto. Firstly the outdoor seating is in the shade which is great to escape the midday sun. I have been here on a few occasions now and always enjoy the weekend brunch menu. As a vegetarian in Porto it’s not easy but this menu has lots of options! Would highly recommend the cakes and pastries also. The best part however is the service, in particular Lucas and Miguel who are so helpful and accommodating. They always help with menu choices and although they are super busy they make a point to care about each guest! I hope they are appreciated by the owner!!   We had lovely family dinner here ( big table upstairs). There were 9 of us - 6 adults and 3 kids and everyone enjoyed their food. Service was quick, very friendly. We asked for particular non-alcoholic cocktail which they didn’t have in menu and they made it for us. They have good selection of deserts and we actually went downstairs to pick them ( as kids wanted to see deserts and not to read about them in menu). Really uncomfortable to serve an English speaking table or b: not experiencing any kind of joy in his job. They misunderstood one of the orders from the main dishes whilst explained three times to make sure they wouldn’t. And when we wanted to order the desert we were told they ran out of all chocolate type deserts and forgot about one desert. We asked where the fourth desert was and they went to get the manager(?) to sort things out. He then told us that they also had the chocolate desert types. So that was kinda weird.
