  Great location and beautiful view of the river. My favorite thing was the rissol of shrimp (basically shrimp empanadas). The steamed clams appetizer was also pretty good. My wife and mother in law had the shrimp spaghetti and while the shrimps were well seasoned, the pasta itself was on the blander side with a sweet port sauce. It felt more like an asian stir fry than like an italian spaghetti. They also for some reason de-shelled the shrimp but did not de-vein the shrimp which we thought was odd. They left the heads on which I am fine with. I had the octopus feijoada as my main and while I enjoyed it I did think it was underseasoned particularly the octopus meat itself so I did ask for salt and pepper which they were happy to bring to me. They have a good wine list with reasonable prices, we tried a vinho verde for 16€. When paying the bill the server asked me if I wanted to leave a tip with 10% and 20% options shown. I know that its not typical to tip here so I asked him is this normal to tip and he said no.   A restaurant conveniently located by the river, conveniently remained open at 4pm when all hole in wall places with high reviews in the neighborhood are closed. So hungry so decided to give a try. The service is fast and attentive. The food did not live up to standards, in fact mediocre especially the octopus. Way too salty. Quite a contrast to the octopus we tried las night, which is juicy tender and delicious. The salad is however generous and good value . If you are in the area and really have to eat, it’s not a bad idea.   Nice establishment along the river with a scenic outdoor seating and cozy inside tables. They have an English menu. Wife and I ordered the Cod croquets for an appetizer. They were excellent. For entrees she ordered the Acorda with shellfish and I ordered the rice with shellfish. The Acorda with shell fish is served in a hot bowl on a wood serving tray. The meal is a creamy dish, almost porridge like. It comes out thin with an egg and then you mix everything in and it changes the texture into a thicker creamy body. The dish is flavorful and rich, with hints of the wine base. It is quite excellent. The shellfish with rice is served in a heated bowl with wood server. The rice is in a thin tomato based sauce with a generous amount of shrimp and clams. This dish was fantastic and very delicious. We almost ordered something else but I asked the server to choose between two and he recommended this. Excellent experience all around. I stole pics from their FB to share here because we forgot to take a nice food photo.   Spent €152 for two and it was alright. (They asked for tip.) I did not like the two dishes I ordered: Seafood Soup and Codfish made from salted dried fish which was leathery with intense flavor. Lobster Rice was good. The portion was huge. The Lobster rice was enough to share among 4 people with appetizers. They could have warned us about that then we wouldn’t have had to spend so much.   Food was excellent. Location was good, except we were in an outermost outdoor table and were visited by panhandlers. Service was so-so. For example, one of the items that we ordered was octopus salad, which came as a green salad w/o octopus. They did correct that. There was a problem with the billing. We paid with a credit card and instructed the server to charge this in euros, not dollars. The server then ran my card and told me that it had been charged in dollars and asked "is that okay?". We answered that it was not okay and instructed him to void that transaction and rerun it in euros. He disappeared and a woman appeared and told us that the card had been run in euros. When we received our credit card statement we saw that the bill had been charged in dollars, resulting in a higher cost than if the bill had been charged in euros and converted by our credit card company. We called our credit card company and they removed the excess charge. The difference in cost probably wasn't worth the time that it took to explain it to the credit card company, but we didn't want to reward the restaurant for what we suspect was an intentional error in their favor. BOTTOM LINE: good food, but make sure that you get what you order, and if you pay with a credit card be sure that they charge you in euros (unless for some reason you WANT to be charged in dollars) (Traduzido pelo Google) A comida era excelente.   I stumbled onto this place, and it was amazing. The view is breathtaking. We didn't make reservations, but they were able to seat us. It is a social workplace to reintegrate homeless people, and they really try and do make your time with them pleasant. The food is the best we had in Porto. Most places have food reviews, but from our experience, you really can not trust them. But this place... is the best! The prices are very reasonable, a bottle of wine was around €16.   Personally, Not very pleasant experience. Maybe it’s peak time, the waiter guided me in a 4-seats table in the indoor as outside is packed with other customers . I ordered the salad, soup, fried sardinas, codfish balls and a glass of wine, they delivered all at the same time and never come back to me for my opinion, so I have no choice to start the warm dishes first instead of the salad. Fried sardines is too salty but codfish balls are bland. Salad & soup are regular ordinary. The green wine also far from satisfying. I wonder if I choose wrong dishes , as others reviews seems good regarding the restaurant, but I have eaten same dishes at other restaurants and they’re delicious. Anyway, I didn’t feel there is service, therefore I don’t feel like to give tips, however while I struggle with that, there are short of amounts from the change I received.   We walked the entire area and found their menu appealing for the price point… it did not disappoint. My wife and I shared each dish as they’re all large/shareable… the simple mixed salad, olive and crostini, the shrimp with garlic app and finally the pork ribs with chorizo rice. We were stuffed and happy at the end. Had the gin & tonic which our waiter poured at the table, measured shot and then an extra pour for good measure (strong and perfect) and my wife had a 1/2 carafe of sangria which she loved.   We have been twice, the first time we couldn't access because no booking. We tried to call several times but no one picked up so we went again near opening time but info in Google were incorrect and the place was packed again. We decided to wait and in didn't take long. The location isn't nice and the toilets are awful. The food however is very nice. We ordered a lot and tried their specialties and we left full and satisfied.   For me two stars, only for the service. The service was really good to be honest. But, if you want to eat something else than fish, don't eat here. Actually nothing of the food was very special. The beef sucked, the quality of the meat was bad and it was boring. The fries were cold after a minute and it tasted like it was kept warm on a hot plate for the whole day already.   We ate there late Wednesday evening. It was busy so we had a 30 minute wait for the table until a table was free, not an issue as the menu looked good and we spent time looking for the right place. The starter, oysters and barnacles were excellent. The main course we wanted ran out, instead we had to choose veal. The meat when it arrived was a terrible cut of meat, we did complain about this and the manager handled our concerns with good customer service. 2 stars purely because the staff and starter were good, big deductions because the main course was bad.   Wow. We unexpectedly found ourselves at this hip, delicious restaurant that had a beautiful view of Vila Nova di Gaia. What is special about this place: 1 - Location. It’s water side but unlike the other tourist trap restaurants on the Main Street of Ribeira, this one is slightly tucked away from the busy foot traffic, situated in a plaza/piazza by the water. You can eat outside without a mob of people by your table. 2 - The fresh fish of the day is displayed in a case at the entrance. Once it’s gone, it’s gone. So you can be sure that you’re literally getting the catch of the day. 3 - Service - our server, whose English may have been limited was extremely friendly, attentive and eager to please. And most importantly, the food was extremely delicious even though it was simply prepared. I highly recommend the grilled prawn entree, the garlic shrimp appetizer, clam appetizer, salted cod with potatoes and greens entree and try the white port & tonic cocktail.   We feel lucky to have stumbled onto this gem of a spot our first night in Porto. Given the great location, it seems like it could be a tourist trap, but the food and service were great (our waiter actually talked us out of an extra course that would have been too much). We didn’t know it at the time, but they do some classic dishes with just enough of a twist to update them without being unrecognizable. One of our favorite meals of the trip. The service staff were really good and friendly, very attentive even though they were busy. the view is quite spectacular but that ends there. The food is mediocre even bland on some.   Amazing food and good wine. Inside tables were only by reservation. Outside has a nice view of the river. We took osso buco, octopus, oysters and dessert (similar to creme caramel). Portions are very generous. Osso buco was melting in the mouth. My octopus as well. Best octopus in my life. Everything was amazing.   I had grilled octopus with onions, peppers, garlic, olives and potatoes and I have to say this was one of the best dishes I've ever had. When the dish arrived it looked good but once I took a bite of the octopus together with the onions and the peppers I thought I'm in food heaven.   Good food but not a 5 star. My garden salad is fine with olive oil and rock salt. My friends got seafood soup which is just ok because it missing something, not rich enough to American standard. Tiger prawns were very good. Osso Buço is nice but not well season, meaning I have to add more salt and pepper. Octopus stew with bean was nice. Service is just fine since they are so busy.   Best restaurant we went to in Porto - even went back two nights in a row. Fantastic seafood - especially the grilled tiger prawns and the lobster rice. Very reasonably priced.   Probably the single best meal that four of us had in Portugal including a meal at a restaurant with a Michelin star. The fish is fresh and perfectly prepared. The waitstaff is outstanding.
