However I used to love this restaurant but lately the customer service has getting worse (not sure if this applies to big groups, which I feel they care more as it is more money) A suggestion for winter days, kindly turn on the heater in the garden or provide with some banklets.   We were super tired one night on our trip and didn’t want to have a 3.5 hour fancy dinner like most places in Lisbon offer. We decided this spot looked good, and we were really pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere is very pretty. The food came out super quick. It was a little hard to get our waiter’s attention as we were in a back room with one other couple, but overall super fast and very courteous. Everything was very tasty and the teas were sooo yummy! Definitely up to par with our local Viet spot at home that’s very authentic. Would recommend this spot! While enjoying the last of our drinks we were rushed to pay by a different waiter and when asked about my takeaway he said it was thrown away in the bin.   Lovely place to eat, not what you would expect in Portugal but clearly popular with the locals the atmosphere is great lively and green with plenty of fauna. The food is excellent some of the best Vietnamese food I have had. Highly recommend booking if you are nearby it gets rather busy after 7:30.   Oh my... I think I just ate the best Asian food ever. Light, tasty, great service... This place has it all. I had the wonton soup. The broth was light and tasty and the wontons probably the best I've eaten in a while. I had the Ban Cun as dish. Wow. The meat was tender, the vegetables incredibly fresh and the rice noodles a joy to eat. Add to that a very nice and cozy outside setting and you'll want to travel to Portugal just to go to this place. I'm exaggerating a bit. Although maybe not.   Fantastic patio, mediocre food, and crazy high prices for what it is. Per dish, these prices are higher than your standard Vietnamese joint in San Francisco or New York. 15 euro for a noodle dish. 2.50 euro for tap water that they insisted was bottled (bottled water tends to come in a sealed bottle, not a re-used one with the cap loosely screwed on). For those prices, I would expect a fine dining experience and gourmet cuisine in Lisbon... this was some of the worst Vietnamese food (bland, overcooked and half-peeled shrimp, truly nothing special) I've had anywhere and served in a fast-casual style.   Coming from someone who is Vietnamese, I would give this place 4 stars. I wasn't expecting much coming to Lisbon and eating pho. However, I was very shocked at how great the broth was. There were some minor things I'd change, like having the proper spoon to slurp up the broth and some of the ingredients inside the pho and bun bo hue, I wouldn't call authentic.   I went today by myself *after* the the lunch rush hour. The meal was fine, the service was terrible. I was ignored and had to actually get up to ask someone to order. Then I had to ask for a napkin and chopsticks. I wanted to order more food but no one ever came back to the table. When I managed to flag someone down, the kitchen was closing so I was discouraged from doing so. The extra star is for past good experiences that I cannot deny.   Worst Vietnamese food I’ve ever had. The nuoc mam (fish sauce) tasted like a vinaigrette with no flavor and the bun bo hue tasted like instant noodle broth mixed with chili oil. They used the wrong noodle and didn’t even serve it with pork. The Cha Ca (monkfish) was the driest thing ever and had worst flavor than a filet o fish from McDonalds. As a Vietnamese person, I wouldn’t even classify this as Vietnamese food. It is overpriced and a terrible experience with awful service. Worst and most upsetting meal I’ve had in Lisbon. We ordered the fresh springrolls and were happy the cook prepared springrolls from scratch. My traditional beef noodle was delicious, like how pho tastes in Hanoi. My husband ordered chicken curry rice and said it was the best among all chicken curry rice he has had in our 3 months in Europe. The portions are very good. The only minus point for me is that there's no coffee with condensed milk nor tea with ginger and lemongrass in the menu. We were lucky to be the first guests of the day. After that so many came and the terrace was quickly full. I'd recommend if you want to enjoy the atmosphere in the terrace, reserve in advance.   5 stars for the food but only 1 star for service! We didn’t have an advanced booking and they put us in the dark corner (hiya to LA couple 👋🏻). So the whole time, we had a view of empty tables in the garden. I just don’t understand why they couldn’t let us have those empty tables. When we paid and left, those tables were still emptied.   I as a Vietnamese love nothing more than Vietnamese food. I have not had any Vietnamese food in a couple weeks. I was in Lisbon for a week. So on my last day in Lisbon, I was really craving Vietnamese food, and this restaurant was the one that was closest from my hotel. This Vietnamese restaurant is legit. The quality of the food was superb and beautiful(as any Vietnamese dish should be). The back terrace gives you that Asian/Chinese atmosphere. The lady that owns the restaurant, absolute nice lady and you can truly tell she cares for her business. When the time comes, I believe she will have the potential to grow her business substantially. Any locals or tourist/travelers in Lisbon, who are longing for any Asian food or anyone who has not tried Vietnamese food, definitely should give this place a chance.   We had an amazing evening, the service was very warm and welcoming, there is a great terrace inside with a great atmosphere, but most important: the food was really good. As I am Vietnamese myself I tend to look for Vietnamese restaurants everywhere I go and it’s not always as good as here. We ordered bo luc lac (shaking beef with rice), which was delicious and just as I would want it if I would be in Vietnam. We also ordered the Vietnamese ice coffee, and that was definitely perfect (not too sweet and strong enough. I’ll definitely come back, both for the food and for the nice people.   I was a regular at the restaurant until I had to move to another city, and I have to say I miss it dearly. The nem spring rolls are among the best I have ever tried in or outside of Vietnam. The Pho was a win for me to, especially given the fact that the chef/owner refrains from using MSG in the kitchen, which for me is a rare and bold move. Bun chả is a must try, as good as you would find In Hanoi! The terrace is beautiful, reminding me of home. The owners are kind and attentive. I wholeheartedly recommend!   I have been craving Vietnamese food for months and this restaurant did not disappoint. I’m vegetarian so I ordered several of their veg options. Everything was great but the Nước chấm sauce had a very mild fish taste so I recommend double checking if you are a strict veg/vegan. I’m hoping they will expand the options on their vegetarian menu and include popular dishes like Phở Chay (with vegetable broth). There aren’t any restaurants in Lisbon making a good vegan Phở and I think Bambu’s chef would do an amazing job.   The Vietnamese Spring Rolls were good We ordered: 1) Vietnamese Spring Rolls - Nem 2) Special rice noodle hot soup with Chicken - Pho-Ga 3) Crispy Beef in Sweet and Sour Sauce - Bok Chien Gion Sot Chua Ngot 4) Super Bock Beer 1) The Nem was good 2) The soup was plain water really not broth. Some small pieces of onion and very little chicken scrap pieces with skin and onlt skin. No taste totally bad. Not much of chicken meat. 3) Not very much beef and the meat was again side scraps. No crispiness and so much fat. Everything was drown in a little sweet and sour sauce. If we had not orded Nem, - only one star. No. 2 and three were extremely expensive especially for so low quality of chicken and beef scraps and no taste. In all other Vietnamese restaurants we have visited in the world they have thick soja sauce and special hot Vietnamese sauces at the tables or bring them out. We miss our favourite Vietnamese restaurant in New York.   Being a Vietnamese living in Europe, I strongly recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves our country's cuisine. Never had I ever found myself being back to Vietnam until when I was at this place. The food is really authentic and comes in big portion so you can do family style with other people. I strongly recommend Chả giò, Bún Bò Huế and Bún chả. Sorry for no pictures cause we all devoured the food when it came out ha. I am also impressed with Vietnamese decorations and friendly service here. It is by far my favorite Vietnamese restaurant in Europe to be honest.   Great reception and very tasty food. The flavours are very complex and complementary with simple and great quality ingredients.   The food was Delicious! The staff were very cheerful and friendly. The ambience was nice and quiet, very relaxing. I loved the food there. The Pho noodle soup was so soulful. If you are visiting Lisbon, this place is a must visit and I would reccomend this lovely restaurant to anyone who travels to Portugal for holidays or work. Amazing food and ambience! Keep it up.   It's very hard to find real Vietnamese food in Europe, especially in Portugal, but Bambu restaurant is one of them. It doesn't taste exactly the same, but it is close enough to deserve it's five stars. Good prices too, a place to visit regularly.   Had 2 phở and a beer here during my holiday. As I know, this place just opened for a couple of months so not really stand out when searching for it. However, the food was so good and exotic, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, brought me back to Vietnam... Price is reasonable in Lisbon.
